I like the concept but I don't love the vibe and the staff working here. I think I wouldn't come back - at least not to the Bangsar store. I really want to like it and visit frequently but I would not return the atmosphere was extremely unwelcoming. I don't want to feel bad trying to do be more environmentally friendly. It's my first time visiting the store after reading about it online and seeing the popup stores so I was excited but the staff was very unfriendly and when I asked for info about their products they didn't want to provide any info at all and was a bit rude too. Also, when I told her she weighed my bottle without the cap before putting the products in but she weighed it with the cap after - i just mentioned it to her because I was curious since the price is measured by weight and she said its 0.00 something only so it's whatever in a condescending kinda manner. After payment and when we're leaving - it's just "it's done". For others - if vibe and experience matters or if you have questions etc, I think you should avoid this place or visit other branches (I have not been yet). If you're just no frills and whatever - it's good.

No improvement in service and hygiene from my last visit & review. This is during Covid season, no one takes the temperature, staff's are busy on the phone with 3 other customers in the store. Hostile, bottles are not labelled and the audacity to open the bottle, ask me to remove my mask to smell the oyster sauce to determine is it the same one that I use! Touched the rim with bare hands & proceeds to smell it himself. I don't want contaminated items, this was the same issue the last round! Bottles are refilled on the bare floor! ( have photos are proof ). Health inspectors should pay them a visit. Supporting zero waste at the expense of hygiene, NO. No more chances to this store already.

This place labels itself as Malaysia's first zero waste shop so we were keen to visit and see what KL had to offer in this area. What we found is a fairly normal (by global standards) zero waste "supermarket" offering just about every food, drink and household item you can think of. The staff were very speedy at serving customers and chatting with people while we were looking around, and the place appears to be judging popular by the crowd in there at 12pm on a Saturday. The venue is situated in a very middle class expat neighbourhood that feels more like Australia than Kuala Lumpur, so I guess they got their location right in terms of the kind of people who would engage!

Love this store so much. I'm incorporating more grains, fibers, beans and legumes in my meals. I eat vegan, vegetarian multiple times a week and am trying to diversify my fridge/cupboard portfolio. This is a great place for us meat and potatoes folks to try healthier options and learn how to cook with them..... or if you already know what you're doing, even better! And let's not forget, on the other side there are tons of healthy sweet options for a sweet tooth like me! Giant selection of coffee, tea, honey, jam. Hand creams and other body products. And the best staff ever. They know their products well and gave me many ideas!!! Keep bringing in more products HIVE!

Good service and a big range of products. Many of which appear to support small local producers, which is great. Good quality produce as well from what I've bought. Like some of the reviewers, I do feel that many of the products are overpriced though - that said, it's unfair to make comparisons to supermarkets who don't necessarily source sustainably and are able to cut costs significantly as a result. So I do applaud the owners for making this option available for those who are willing to pay a bit more for eco-friendly products.

This is one of my favorite store in Malaysia! I bought the menstrual cup, bamboo toothbrush, 70% cacao chocolate (very delicious!), waterproof pouches. Very happy for the purchases and would love to try other products as well. They have started loyalty program since July 2019, and you can register with your email. They will send the receipts to your email and you will see your points too. I am very happy to discover this shop while I am in KL, and keep coming back again!

Good place to be if you are following a zero waste lifestyle. Definitely worth a visit to see how you can reduce your own impact to the environment. Don't have to do a complete change but do it slowly within your own capacity and you'll find out that it'll get easier and easier. Like all things, it take just a little patience. Please bring your own containers here. They also have cold brew coffee so don't forget that tumbler. Slurps!

The world needs more eco friendly shops like this. Apart from their globally needed initiative to save mother earth, the customer service is remarkable and the entire shop radiates with good chi and an elegant scent and sense of peacefulness. Highly recommended for everyone who is anyone. Funny thing is, I flew all the way from the Pacific island nation of Fiji to get me some metal eco friendly straws. #savetheturtles

Came here to drop my e-waste. Senang sangat. Datang, cakap dengan staf nak drop your e-waste (no larger than a microwave). He/she will point out where to put your stuffs. Boleh jugak nak drop your paper bags dengan bubble wraps. Kedai dekat second storey. Not very accesible towards people with disabilities. Parking is a hassle. Saya kena park jauh dekat area perumahan dengan harapan tak kena tow.

Cut down on excessive packaging and buy from The Hive. There’s a wide range of produce with a good choice of organic options. Bring your own containers and buy just what you need. Refill your oils, washing liquids, shampoo etc. and there’s an extensive selection of environmentally products that are more sustainable that regular items and will help reduce the amount of plastic we generate.

Came here for the first time to buy some Mineraw products and to check out what I can buy packaging free, but your staff was less than friendly and didn’t really seem to care that I needed help. In fact when I asked one staff about something, he kinda made fun of my accent? I find this quite unprofessional, hopefully this changes. Otherwise I love your good cause!

Love the concept of cutting down waste - and managed to get most of the oils, sauces and dry goods I need here. Also, if you have any glass bottles or containers that you don't need, do bring over and pass it to them to reuse! The waiting time could be a little long, as there was only 2 staff taking your order and filling it up.

It's such a lovely store. There were a lot of choices, and the staff there were really helpful. I still remember my first step here after deciding to be a zero-waste person. I still have my first reusable cloth pad that I got in 2016 and it still works well without fail. I love everything here.

Mostly come here to unload old packaging and e-waste every once in awhile. It's located in a less busy part of Bangsar, but the street parking downstairs can be a pain because there's not too many parking bays, hence the once in awhile. Product selection is decent for where it's at.

Such a cute little zero waste store! We’re trying to travel around Malaysia as waste free as possible so it was great to stock up on a laundry bar and snacks for our trip. Easy to use our own containers and bags. Would highly recommend the local dried mango - delicious!

Great place to buy all your zero waste staples in KL! They have everything from dry foods to biodegradable toothbrushes, the owner is friendly and super helpful. The Hive also hold many events on living healthily and with less impact on the environment.

What an amazing shop that lived up to it's motto of zero waste. You can purchase so many organic healthy food options all focused on zero waste .even paper bags and re usable jars go take them home in.
