Conveniently located at the Plaza in Lane Cove, The Junction Coffee Co is a dog friendly cafe with outdoor seating and a substantial menu which you won’t have any trouble choosing from. A small space, but very popular. It was formerly Pablo & Rusty’s which could be the reason they serve Pablo & Rusty’s Coffee as well as sell their beans. Chef Daniel is extremely experienced, having works all over the world. He’s created a menu with a variety of dishes to suit all diners. They have a hugely instagrammable breakfast degustation, veggie board and French toast to name a few. Food is nutritious, well seasoned, tasty and nicely presented. We shared two dishes, the smashed avo with tomato, dukkah, goats feta on ciabatta. So colourful and even healthy. It was a cold weekend so we also shared the porridge with cinnamon, cashew nuts, seasonal fruit. The coffee is good, using Pablo and Rusty’s beans. We had a mocha as well as a Daintree chai with soy milk + honey - Specialty of the house. Staff were lovely and extremely accommodating. This will be sure to maintain popularity with the locals and visitors alike.

It's tough finding good places to eat and drink when you're on the road. For every one enjoyable experience, you're hit with three ranging from ok to horrible. This place fits somewhere between the last two. There's such an aloof hipster vibe here, you half expect the people working there to deny service based on looks. 'You're gonna try and order coffee with that hair? Shuh!' The food was average, the coffee was average, the 'tude was unwelcoming, the space to sit and enjoy is virtually non-existent (we had to have our breakfast transferred to takeout containers because we weren't allowed to take a plate two feet outside some 'zone' and eat in a common stage area within full view of the business). Our breakfast the day before in a country town was more friendly and cosmopolitan than this hole in the wall. McDonald's would have been preferable.

Visited the Junction Coffee Co. over the weekend for breakfast and was super impressed with how delicious and beautifully presented the food was! I ordered the T-J Breakfast Sharing Platter, Lemon Tart, Latte and Daintree Chai. I loved the wide selection of food on the share platter, poached eggs were cooked to perfection and I absolutely fell in love with the bircher muesli. A bit more seasoning on some items on the share platter would've elevated the dish for me but only a minor detail. The filling of the tart was sweet and had a creamy texture which was gorgeous. Overall, I enjoyed the food and customer service here, will definitely revisit!

Edit: If I could give it a two and a half I would. It’s quite mediocre to be honest. The bacon and egg bomb (fancy bacon and egg roll) was underwhelming and the bun itself was average. My partner for a ham, cheese and tomato toastie which was well under toasted (cheese was basically unmelted). The drinks came out way after the food and took some time. The tea (teabag in water) took the longest and came out under brewed. Overall underwhelming. Pretty typical for Lane Cove though. Food was good although seating is limited or somewhat awkward. Nothing to write home about. Worth a try if there is a spot to sit.

How does Pablo and Rusty's not have a review yet?! I'm a big fan of the coffee from P&R, I just wish I could get it in a bigger cup. I've eaten a burger here that was absolutely amazing, and my girlfriend had a sandwich that was equally good. One thing I haven't done yet is had one of their breakfast boards. I've seen them before and hear nothing but incessant raving from both by sisters about how amazing they are. I'll try them some day soon, but until then I'll enjoy my coffees when I get the chance, and hope to have another burger here soon.

As a seasoned weekend bruncher, I admit I have quite high standards, and Pablo & Rusty's did not live up to those. The coffee was definitely decent and the service friendly enough (although I hate to have to 'order at the counter'), but the food was really disappointing. My eggs were over-poached (I think that's called 'boiled'), the toast thin and dry and the mushrooms swimming in greasy, grey fungus juice. I wouldn't even start to describe what my boyfriend's 'meat plate' looked like... Wont be back in a hurry... or ever!

1st off I paid 55$ for four items two coffees and two breakfasts ??? The wait for the food was really long even though the kitchen was completely staffed, the venue was only half filled at the time so I’m not sure why it took so long for the food to get to me. They need a dedicated dish pig as to not fall behind on orders. Half an hour passed still no food. I don’t recommend. Staff are friendly enough but service is waaaay toooo slow. Received food well after 40 minutes of ordering it!!!

Great coffee however if you love your single origin or buy coffees most normal people have never heard of then you might want to try the place around the corner overlooking the car park - I don't like it as much but friends who are obsessed with coffee do. Love the coffee, love the food. If you become a regular then the staff are friendly however I can understand the previous reviewers complaint, they can take a while to warm up. Eftpos is often down however that's typical Comm Bank.

Overall an underwhelming experience when considering the quality of food and drink of cafes in Sydney and even at their City cafe. The food was basic and didn't really conmbine any interesting elements together especially when you consider that you may pay $17 up. The coffee was good. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if the prices were cheaper. You're simply not getting any of the service you usually get when paying that much. Underwhelming.

Pablo and Rusty is a good reliable franchise in the heart of the village atmosphere of Lane Cove. There is a wide selection of sandwiches or pastries to enjoy with your coffee or tea. You have the option to take away or sit-in -but you better be quick as seating is limited. The weekend the shopping forecourt is filled with young families, this is definitely a kid friendly place for your morning or afternoon tea!

My experience at the café wasn't great. The customer service was terrible and the food was just average. The omelette was tasteless and dry. When we asked the waiter for a table, he responded with "I don't think so, because they have a baby" and pointed at a couple who had just arrived. His response was confusing and impolite. Probably he had a language barrier but the way he responded wasn’t friendly either.

Good coffee and food. I love the french toast, but recently doing a bit of a diet so meat omelette is my go to. I enjoy bringing my dog up here and sitting outside. The first time I came with my partner and we didn't know we had to order at the counter. There's usually some sun outside by 10 or 11 am at 1 table so that is appreciated in winter.

I just happened to walk by this cafe and decided to have brunch. The staff were great and the veggie board was by far the best avocado / poached eggs / vegetables I’ve had at a cafe. Everything was unexpectedly extra delicious and was seasoned perfectly. You could taste and see that the ingredients were very fresh and of a high quality. Will definitely be coming back when I’m in the area. Thanks!

  • Claudine L

The food and coffee is good but I heard the owner/manager loudly discussing that same sex marriage and same sex couples were disgusting/against nature/was going to cause deaths?? He was visibly upsetting the staff member with who he was discussing this. I'm really disappointed because this place has pretty decent coffee and food, but I don't want to continue giving my money to a bigoted idiot

  • Cheryl L

I love the coffee here (as I love all Pablo & Rusty’s coffee) but I have to admit they’ve gotten downhill over the years. The ambience used to be lighter and the staff used to be a lot friendlier, and I honestly feel like the food + experience of visiting the cafe has gone downhill since the change of staff. Hope you guys pick up from here as there is a lot of other competition around!

  • Mark McEntee

Although in a nice position in the market square, the food and service is very disappointing. The smoothie, is not a smoothie see the picture it was a Frappe with a cube of frozen yoghurt. The Vegie brekkie board was a disappointment with cold tomatoes, flavourless mushrooms and hard small toast. The French toast and coffee however were very good.

  • Erin Morris

I ate brunch here today with my mum and sister, everything was quite nice as we sat and ate, although I couldn’t finish my wrap so I took it home, as I bit into the second half of the wrap I found myself biting into a rather large piece of plastic… not impressed, lucky I didn’t swallow it..

These guys are back on their game! I had breakfast here July 2020. The service was great, the food was great and the coffee was even better. They cater well for children. They are well set up for Covid social distancing. The Junction had slipped in quality, not sure what happened, but it is back to the amazing place that it was before!

  • Mr White

One of the worst cafe in Lane Cove. Coffee extremely average, baked eggs was precooked fried eggs, sliced and topped on puree. You're better off trying all the other cafes around than here.

The coffee was very tasty and the mocha used real dark chocolate. Iced chai latte had generous ice cream scoop and real peppery flavour. The special shakshuka was also delicious with fresh ingredients and their side of chips for $5 was a very generous portion for the price. Happy to come back here any time.

Great coffee, the menu is average. The place is somewhere you’d like to try as is placed well in the centre, but food is average at best. Cutlery not very clean as it still has fingerprints as well as food stuck even the cups. Lots of flies inside the cafe as well. Staff could also be more attentive.

  • S4mb4 del Torro

Awesome coffee, great food - really fresh produce however this does not compensate for poor service. Awful tardy service, no sense of urgency in taking orders, and very often the eftpos machine is not available. It would be nice if they would offer order ahead service as their Gordon branch.

Nice busy breakfast place with good coffee and fresh food delivered quickly. One of the better spots in the main part of Lance Cove for coffee and light meals. The background noise was very high and service a bit sporadic and these made our experience a little less satisfying.

  • Paul Graham

Had lunch here. The Pablo & Rusty coffee was awful. So bitter. I don't understand how anyone can like such bitter coffee. Sadly, it seems to be a trend these days with cafes, not just this one, to serve up horribly bitter bad tasting coffee. The lunch itself was not too bad.

Located in the centre of Lane Cove market square is the Junction Coffee house. It is a corner shop that servers great coffee and hot chocolate. This place is very busy, especially on weekend mornings. Maybe a little expensive but other wise 5 star!

  • Samantha Colden

This place can get really busy at weekends. There's a big round communal table inside but most of the seating is outdoors so rug up! Coffee is great but the breakfast boards are awesome; there's a meat and a veggie option. Definitely a must try!

  • M T (Dryasadingo)

Coffee was ok, ham and cheese toastie was good, bacon and egg roll was underdone, and there seemed to be a few mix ups with the orders on table around us. When we have visited before its been pretty good so i hope it was just an off day

Cosy cafe with outdoor seats which is my favourite, completed by a beautiful “Crush Avocado” dish. Really recommend this place.

Great food, best coffee in Lane Cove by some margin and the staff are absolutely lovely. The take away options are also really good if you're on the run.

  • Georgia Booth

They don't use fresh ingredients in the smoothie - just popped a premade frozen sachet into the blender with water. For $9 I would expect more than that.

  • Amanda O'Driscoll

Place has changed hands and the food and speed of food coming out is not as good as it was - now overpriced for what it is. Coffee is great.

I like this restaurant as it is my first time have lunch in here after lock down Sydney finished. Love their Big Burger and coffee, …

Great lunch here today. Very fresh, tasty food. Love the fact they serve take away coffee in biodegradable cups.

  • Daniel

Nice staff. Bacon egg mediocre - thick, stale garlic-ky bread + only one egg! Cmon folks, you can do better :)

  • Sean Hewes

Great coffee and awesome food. Always met with a smile and given superb service. I recommend the Açai bowl
