I went to say my farewells to The late Queen (09th of September- morning ) and on our way back from Buckingham palace me and my friend popped in here for a hot chocolate, really nice and cosy cafe with hot food. While my friend was ordering our hot chocolate I went to look how upstairs additional seating areas looks like as it says in a note there’s additional seating upstairs. The guy making the coffee was really rude and asked me where do I think I’m going and when I said to take a look upstairs he rolled his eyes and said yeah but you need to order first! I said we are ordering as my friend was waiting for our drinks to be made at the till. He did apologise but there was no need for the eye rolling and the very bad attitude as it was a lovely place but seems like wrong people are working there. People like to see a happy face in the morning with a smile not a sarcastic, rude attitude towards costumers. Please advice this young man how to be polite about things at work. Lots of training on customer care ect.. it was a nice place and the hot chocolate was good but unfortunately 1star for the very rude guy who worked that morning. Sorry! Reply to owner’s reply saying maybe I should ask before going somewhere - wow! the owner seems as rude and unprofessional as the staff then, no wonder! Next time then when you advertise saying there’s additional seating upstairs in a big black lettering you should also add “ PLEASE ASK STAFF BEFORE ENTERING OR CHECKING UPSTAIRS TO AVOID ANY RUDE EYE ROLLING AND QUESTIONING FROM STAFF” lol I can see the why people have left the same review as me about your rude staff because as the owner you are not seem to be setting a good example at all lol. UNPROFESSIONALISM at its best.

Came here on a Sunday by lunchtime. First is a narrow corridor in the historic building. A sign asks you to wait in this area, probably because lack of space. Then the four of us came into the open space room where you could pay. Some things you could pick yourself, while you could read the written menu and pick something else to eat as well like the soup. There were many options and the rude staff were yelling a lot. The four of us hadn’t fully ordered before they called in the next people in line. Now it became even more crowded in the relatively small space. They should have located the cash register differently in the room. Apparently there was no back door, so the staff needed to through ordering customers when they were to serve ordered food to the right table. It was a really messy logistic. Staff were yelling and you had very little chance to know what to order before entering this room where you were supposed to know exactly what to order. So no time to decide really. Especially not with rude and screaming staff, that possibly seemed stressed out. The toilet in this place was basically a cupboard and the latch for locking the door was broken. So you had to hold the door for it not to open while you were in there. The food had hardly any taste, but it was eatable. I would suggest a new owner, new staff, better logistics, make sure people can access the menu before they are supposed to order, an investment in a lock for the lavatory, especially a culture where the staff is polite to their customers. We hadn’t committed any crime, we just didn’t know exactly what to order.

Absolutely the most shocking customer service I have ever received and witnessed! Firstly the assistant (older man, wearing a blue shirt) didn’t say hi or even smile! Then when I put my croissant down I asked him politely if I could get it heated up as the previous customer was allowed, to which his response was “it is plain” no sorry or explanation why another customer could get his heated up just because there is stuff inside but because mines plain I can’t. hmmmm sounds logical! Then when paying for my stuff, he didn’t say the price nothing just tapped his finger on the card machine! Disgusting customer service! Furthermore a customer who’s child had opened up a banana which definitely wasn’t edible, asked politely if she could swap it and his response; whilst turning up his nose like he was better than her was “ no it’s just sweet you can eat it like that”. I then interjected and said “no that’s definitely not how they should look inside” to which his response was “excuse me do you work here!” I’m a manager myself and I would never tolerate such foul, rude behaviour towards customers! We both asked very simple requests to be rudely responded back to!! Outrageous

Having trundled past here on numerous occasions, body swerving around like-minded travellers avoiding ferrel Santander bikers on the daily commute to work, I thought I'd take a weight off , and venture 'off the beaten path' and into the Alice in Wonderlandish world of a tiny coffee shop....this one hidden in the corner of Hyde Park. What better way to rest those wary legs than I nice cuppa on the way home? I thought... And it does look nice. Accepting that I arrived just prior to closing, I was only 'marginally' disgruntled by the apparent apathy to take half my children's inheritance for a coffee in a paper cup, and inwardly shuddered over the deep sighs directed towards the poor fellow who subsequently ordered after me.....I'm sure he loved his hot chocolate too... although I'm not sure if there was room for both of us on the naughty step. The coffee was, however very tasty and the seating outside was very pleasant. In support of the three stars for service, the other staff were very friendly and polite.... whilst locking up around me. .. obviously. Overall. Give it a go. Four stars from me. It's a very nice place for a coffee and probably even nicer for a nice overpriced slice of pizza. Just don't turn up ten minutes before closing!

VERY VERY VERY POOR SERVICE EVERYTIME I GO HERE!!!!! I work right across from this lodge and grab a meal from here often. I must say it's one thing to have bad service on a once off occasion. But it's apparent that the employees of this cafe are just rude and do everything with such a bad attitude. Everytime I buy something or ask information I am being responded to with such disrespect. It's so disappointing considering it's one of the only options in the area to actually get food, the employees treat customers as if they have been forced to work there and are always just so miserable! Something as simple as a request to remove the avocado whilst toasting the sandwhich, it's a no! Great customer service is about doing what you can to satisfy the guests, and if that means removing the avocado then what's the problem??? It's not going in your mouth?? Wow. Management really should look at training their employees a little more to offer better service I am sure you will see a spike in the revenue once atleast one employee has a smile on their face when serving customers. VERY POOR SERVICE

Avoid this place. I had to use the toilet. The woman behind the desk (I presume the manager due her behaviour) told me I cannot use the toilet without consuming it. I thought it was very reasonable so I was thinking to buy something. So I asked her where the toilets were just to know she wasn't faking me before to pay. She told me in an aggressive tune that she cannot tell me where the toilets were until I bought something. I paid almost 2 pounds for a small bottle of water. When I went to the toilet I found out that it was dirty and disgusting. The floor looks horrible and any of the toilets fill up with toilet paper. There were 2 girls waiting on the line behind me that you made to buy something for the same reason and they were shutting the same thing as me shameful toilet service. You cannot push the people to buy something and after serving a shameful service.

If I could give 0 star, I would have done so. I asked for a cup of cold milk for my one year old with my order. The woman served me did not give me the milk. When I asked her again she gave me a look as if I was inconvenient her. She said it would be £1.5. To which I replied, ‘it is fine’ however, I got a cup of hot milk instead. My 5 year old wanted a straw for her drink, she stood in front of the counter for a long time. During the time, 10 customers must have gone in front of her and got served. Somehow, none of the staff noticed her( there were 4 of them!) my husband finally had to go over and said ‘this little girl has stood here for 5 mins, waiting to be served. Can someone acknowledge her please!’ Poor English, zero customer service. Really, how hard it can be? It is only a cafe.

I recently visited this coffee shop after work and was surprised to see that four ice lattes cost us a whopping £18. While waiting for our order, a tourist kindly asked the waitress for an empty cappuccino cup with a lid. To our disappointment, the waitress was extremely rude and denied his request outright. Later, I noticed the same tourist outside with his kids and took it upon myself to ask for a cappuccino cap with a lid. However, the waitress demanded a fee of 50p for it and only accepted cash, without providing me a receipt. Despite being a beautiful location in Hyde Park, the rude behavior of the waitress left me wondering whether people in the service industry ought to display more humanity during their interactions.

  • Laura Venables

Very rude staff! We sat outside under a parasol as it was raining. The waiter then abruptly drags our table without giving us chance to move our drinks to break it apart from the table it had been adjoined to, which meant that some of it spilt. He then tells the couple on the adjoining table that they will have to sit on a table with a single man to make space for a family of 3 - I can only presume he knew them as it didn’t make sense to move everyone and the waiter didn’t care when we were standing in the rain waiting for table to come free. The drinks were also very expensive and small. £3.20 for a small cup which must have been approx 200ml.

One male staff member was very rude to 2 women in front of us and told my mum that she didn’t have a thought in her brain and told us to take our kids outside - my mum badly burnt her hand on her coffee because the lid wasnt put on properly and was told it was her fault, the only Person who helped was the barman who provided ice water. We only got burn gel and bandages when we went back in and asked the manager who did return our money for our food as compensation but I think that they need to have more training on customer service

nice for a coffee in the park and lots of seating so even on a busy day we were able to find somewhere to sit. however, the lady who served us had absolutely no idea at all about gluten free options and was completely unwilling to help. she told us there was absolutely nothing gluten free, but upon paying and walking out to leave , there was a 2 big jars of goodies labeled gluten free! perhaps she was not having a good day, but I noticed she also seemed quite rude to other customers too, so I won't be rushing back

Girls at the counter were super nice to my boyfriend and I. They forgot my iced americano but were very apologetic on a reminder and got it straight to us. Good drink but very expensive - such is Central London. It’s a bit cramped inside and too noisy and crowded in their outdoor seating area but that shows its popularity. Useful location right by the park entrance. Probably wouldn’t seek it out again due to the prices but would recommend in emergencies!

This place obviously relies on a constant foot flow of new customers to survive, because if it had to rely on customers returning they would go bust. I don't know if the guy serving was the owner or if he just worked there, but he REALLY does not want to be there. Rude, brash and an air of arrogance thrown in for free. I would rather walk another 5 minutes into the Park and drink straight from the Serpentine than give this place my business a second time. Avoid!

Lovely place right next to The Hyde Park! So happy to grab a Mulled Wine + Mince Pie and a pastry to warm me up before the walk in the park. There are outdoor seatings and the view is good next to the park! We went around the time when the Sun was setting, so the light rays were beautiful There are also bathrooms here if anyone needs it before they walk into the park with a cute signage.

The customer was very very very bad no smiling not nice, not welcoming at all when you see him with his bad attitude you just want to go away!! If you don't like working with people go find another job The smoothie was refreshing in this hot day even if it's frozen and not fresh fruits, it was nice some things In the shop was too expensive but the good side was the sitting outside even if this is good I will never come back here

  • Ru made

The staff here all have terrible attitude and make you feel like dirt from the moment you walk in. Instead of wasting time stressing and policing the toilet, why not provide good customer service so people want to buy from you? It's not our fault that the toilets in Hyde Park are inconveniently placed. I wanted to buy some juice but the price was insane and it was warm so no thanks.

A lovely little place with real high prices. I do like this cafe and the two things that would stop me going again is the prices and when I got my coffee the cup was half full and I was able to drink the whole drink in one go. The setting is really nice on Hyde Park Corner Personally for the coffee and the price of item I can only give it two stars But YOU can make your own mind up Cheers DR

The food is great!! We had the chicken salad with couscous and there was loads of fresh succulent chicken, a giant couscous salad with loads of flavour on a bed of salad with a separate balsamic and olive oil dressing. Not bad for a central London location and good value at about £8.50. We’ll definitely be back

Set in a replica Grecian Temple, an element of Decimus Burton's Hyde Park Screen Gate (1828) with its lofty Arcadian pretensions. A grand setting for a park cafe that covers familiar territory competently with little in the way of surprises. Reasonable value for money but not exceptionally so. A cozy upstairs room here, quiet and pleasant.

Would not come back here if it was free. On a day when it was incredibly busy and they were taking money hand over fist, the owner or manager was so rude to pretty much everyone. It's busy because of where it is, not because it deserves it. In another place, they'd lose all their customers in a week. More

You are definitely paying the price for the location which is okay I guess. Two stars because an iced americano costs £4.5 while a warm one costs £3.6. Nonetheless, extremely expensive prices for coffees that come out of semi-domestic bean-to-cup machines.

The place is ok but the staff need to be more friendly and polite say good morning or good afternoon don't take much time but give a very good impression to the visitors.

Takeout cups, cheap tea and minimal options. Such a waste of a beautiful building to have this business, has so much potential. Overpriced for the quality

  • Danilo Ganzella

terrible overpriced food. we ate there because it was part of the bike tour, but otherwise wouls not go. only good point is that it accepts cash More
