"Well"
"I mean…I thought I had been pranked"
"Whomever the security young lady was in the parking lot, was harassing me as I'm a nurse! She needs to be assertive"
"This mall is ghetto as hell and terrible"
"Bought a pair of shoes from Citi trends for Christmas"
Well. It sends you through 3 phases. First, it makes you kinda sad and induces questions like "why am I here?" an "what's my Real purpose?". Then kinda mad, as you repeat " no I don't have any change", "no I don't have another cigarette", "no I don't have anymore trees" ( I just gave the lady a dollar, fudge it ). Then kinda glad. Or very glad. Knowing you don't stay here. You ain't gotta stay here. And, as a matter fact, you are leaving! It has two sneaker type stores ( 3 actually). These are probably decent but overly priced. Because they swear All colored people are sneaker heads, and of course to sell those expensive ($65) trendy shorts with all the rips in them. They got a Citi Trends. Where I couldn't even find a T-shirt. A barber shop. As if. A suit shop. Nuff said. Of course a beauty shop, of course two mandatory jewelry stands, and of course there is an American Deli ( why colored people think they like this place I definitely don't know). All in all. Definitely a place to experience every so often. To keep you focused and grounded. And hungry! Just not that kinda hungry.
I mean…I thought I had been pranked. I’m looking all around for “the mall” and all I could see was what looked like a big warehouse. Then I saw a restaurant and sign that said “Food Court.” Went in, and there was a buffet (food looked good). But back half of the place was completely lights out, and chairs turned up on the tables. (It was 1 pm). I asked if I could get to the mall through the “food court?“ No. what kind of weird mall has a place called “Food Court” that is t a food court and through which you can’t actually enter the mall? So, when I finally realized the tiny sign “mall” sign actually was the main entrance, I went in there. Maybe 12 stores. Some might be cool but it felt like a place no-one wanted to be. Not even the security. It’s such a sad “mall.” They would do better to tear it down and put an open-air park with food trucks and pop-up stores in its place.
Whomever the security young lady was in the parking lot, was harassing me as I'm a nurse! She needs to be assertive. I had a very bad experience involving her. She was driving around in circles around my car and almost hit it! Her boss or an unidentified vehicle was on stand by, and also didn't identify themselves. She approached my vehicle and banged on the driver side window which caused scratches! So to the management I'll be reaching out to the proper people. Young lady please be careful approaching vehicles, I know you had to prove your job description but with everything going on in Atlanta, everyone needs to play their part in being vigilant and not harassing and antagonizing and being a bully. Please train your team to be professional and introduce themselves properly!
This mall is ghetto as hell and terrible. I was hoping the current owner (Charles Taylor) would sell it to an investment company that really want to do something great with it but the deals keep falling thru. The current owner of the mall said instead he wants to refocus the mall for the community but the majority of the community don't shop there and never will b/c of all the crime surrounding the mall or the lack of quality items inside of it. They need to demolish and start over! Also I should mention the mall is embarrassingly outdated and not well maintained which goes to show you how much the current owner cares about the community ... in other words HE DONT!
Bought a pair of shoes from Citi trends for Christmas. Went to put them on noticed they where two different sizes 9 and 11. Didn't get to wear my outfit on Christmas. Took them back today so I could get the same size customer service was horrible by the cashier and when she finally got a manager up there her attitude was just as bad if not worse. Didn't wanna change my shoes cause I didn't have the receipt with me. It isn't like I asked for a refund I just simply asked for two shoes that was the same size. They have alarms on everything it isn't like you can just walk out with them. I just wanna know who really have receipts around Christmas time.
I'm a white guy and there were few of us in there at this exact neighborhood and I'm not racist I'm just saying. They have all kinds of good things to sell and the prices are not bad or the prices are outrageous depending on the store. It's a big place it's called the West end Mall because it's on the West end. You can get off at West end Marta station and walk right across the street where there are several Banks as well and all kind of black owned and operated businesses. That is something to be proud of I don't care what color you are. As a white person I was never treated with anything but respect.
Me and my neighbors when to west end mall to shop at dollar tree and the west end mall. The mall has a couple of stores we like, just a girls day out too find some bargaining and deals, just trying to sketch our dollars!" The mall is nice, food court, hair salon, barbershop, parking lot, etc, and right cross the street from Marta station. Its our girls day out mall to do some shopping." Done spend all my lil dollars bills, went there to look for one item, came out with ten." they got me! "ON our way back home, tell next time!God bless!"Enjoy!
February 2023- came here to get my hair braided. Also come here to get my nails done and to shop for date night clothes and clothes for nights out with the girls. They also have sneaker stores both footlocker and kids footlocker. I also get my eyebrows done here they are great very professional and very talented. There are only two people that work in there though so the wait can be a little long. They accept appointments on Tuesdays. Definitely recommend this mall if you’re going out you can get all your needs taken care of in one stop.
This place has very high quality products and they have the inside of their mall looking very sleek and stylish, the only problem that I recognized from this place is that the outside of the store really dosen't catch my attention at all. When I first saw I thought it was a random old shop that was just laying around until I actually entered the place. I still highly recommend this place to people who are in the area and can reach, because they still sell quality items with great service.
It's a mall. I feel relatively safe when I am there and I am an average appearing, clean-cut, black male, often alone. No high end stores, per-say, but you can find satisfying basics, and something nice to eat. Under 18 and females should travel with an adult friend or family member... I say this because across the street is an element of dudes hanging in cliques that I don't believe would harm the vulnerable, however, we really can not predict these things, so better safe!
I am a customer of watches unlimited they are the best fixing watch shop this side of Georgia I am always very pleased with the quality work that they do as far as keeping my watches in and working order thank you for your time and talent thank you for your service very kind-hearted people service off the chain keep up the good work and I will remain one of your customers and thank you so much God bless Reverend Ross the encouraged always great job
They got a little bit of everything here. From clothing, shoes, jewelry and beauty supplies. Oh and food to. Very close to Marta station. The heart of the Westend community. There are lots of stores inside the mall along with a ton of stores and restaurants surrounding the area. There are handicap parking space with wheelchair entrances. Parking is free and its very noticeable from the streets. Many entrances and exits.
It’s time to renovate and change the environment here. It has the potential to be a great shopping mall once it’s done over and cleaned up. It’s a lot of activity outside and loitering. A bunch of trash that fills the parking lot. There should definitely be someone picking up the trash and keeping it clean. The bathroom was terrible, but again in my opinion I think this mall has a lot of potential and needs a makeover
Short nice mall but the only problem is they need to explained there store to something bigger and they really need to fixed there restrooms sometimes they don't have what u need inside there like toilet tissue handsope paper towels and cleaning the outside area of drugs dealer's u want to feel comfortable when u come to a mall not have to look over ur shoulder every time it's just my opinion ✌️
The Mall West End is a great place to experience the best African American food, clothes, shoes and culture. Within miles from Mercedes Benz Stadium. And the Hair & Beauty Store is there for all of your Hair & Beauty needs. Security is most friendly, engaging & peaceful. This mall is historically evolving and surrounded by a vibrant community of educational institutions, various restaurants and clothing stores.
I've only visited this place twice since being in Georgia. The first time was cool because I took my children school shopping and the second time I came to get their hair cut when I found out my boy from HS worked in the shop. Come out about 2hrs later to find my van was STOLEN, I mean REALLY people can't shop without low life's trying to kill their joy. I vowed NEVER to go back and I haven't since 2014
I really do not recommend this mall. If you have family this is not the mall to bring them to, to shop. To much crime, poor store selection, horrible food selection. It really only caters to shoe head. It should be a shoe outlet center but not a mall. They could close this mall and everything would be fine. Put better stores on here and Offer a different variety of food. Make this a safe mall again.
It is so dead here, I'm not sure how they keep the lights on. Save for a handful of businesses, there isn't reason to come here. The "security guards" do not garner a feeling of safety as they sit at their table scrolling through social media. I came for the beauty supply store and they did not disappoint. This will be the only reason I come as they have a great selection and good prices.
The Westend Area Is Historical!!! The Westend Mall Has A Varieties Of Stores And Restaurants To Choose From To Dine In,To Eating,And To Go Shopping At Different Varieties Of Stores!!!! The West End Area Also Has Other Outside Famous Soul Food Restaurants Like Church And Classic Fast Food Restaurants Like McDonald's And Wendy's, Different Community Historical Tour Sites To Choose From!!!!
The Mall West ended is in need of More store's there's not enough store's but when you enter the mall it is nice and clean place to shop but there's not many stores to shop at I am wondering if this Mall will survive the pandemic I hope it will and next time I visit there will be more store's to shop at and please people wear a mask to protect yourself and others I would appreciate it
Well the west end mall been out for along time, 40 years & more, it doesn't had the excitement no more, it not your mall that had security that well protect you, it rough, if u don't c young peoples hanging out in this mall, it no longer the place that once had it time of glory, it hanging by a thread to me, it no longer a place where you had fun, the fun is gone from this place
It's OK but they could do a lot better with this "mall" if they tried to. I've been in Atlanta for 18 years and it's like it hasn't changed too much. They have even built new nice apartments across the street and still this place is just a hole in the wall kind of mall. I stopped by to pay my phone bill and bought a couple of items from another store but I was just unimpressed.
They really need more quality stores and the more better variety I really don't recommend anybody to go to this mall unless you just want to exercise walk around cause truly things that they have are overpriced or if you like to go to certain stores is jam-packed with so much product that you can't even get through it just don't recommend is not a laid-back shopping experience
The West end mall, in the historic West End District is a cozy group of urban apparel stores with a good selection of casual city wear. The food court is limited, and is of the normal mall variety. This is great place to purchase logo t-shirts, colorful sneakers, and fashionable jeans. I would not go here for formal or evening wear do to the lack of venders in that arena.
I visited the food court Abdullah the Butcher restaurant located next to Planet Fitness on the rear of the mall I was greeted at the front door by a homeless guy begging for change to get something to eat since this is the season of giving I invited him in and told him to order whatever he likes he think me and I told him there was no need for thanks because I am blessed
Horrible and rude customer service from the nailshop inside this mall. Extremely dirty shop. The nail techs didn't wash their hands once after waxing several different people. They take your money and give the meanest looks to their customers as if they are in a top notch fabulous nail shop. I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend $1.00 inside this dirty dirty nail shop.
THIS IS FOR MRS.CHASITY IS AN AMAZING BEAUTIFUL LADY. I BEEN ROCKING WITH LUCKY FINACE SINCE 2017 AND EVERYTIME I HAVE BEING CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AMAZING . MRS.CHASITY IS AN AWESOME MANGER AND THE TEAM .. MS. LEONA DAVIS HAS OVER THE TOP CUSTOMER SERVICE GOT ME IN AND OUT NOTHING BUT SMILES AND LAUGHS FROM THE WHOLE TEAM Y'ALL MUST GO MUST HAVE ALL OF YOUR DOCUMENTS..
I used to like West End Mall, but now when you go there it's young boys hanging outside and RIGHT in front of the door. It's a little scary. People are getting killed, and shot in random places now and days. I don't feel safe anymore when I go there, and it's making me not want to shop there anymore until them leanin' azz security do their jobs, or just do SOMETHING.
My personal opinion, this is not a mall. I only go here if I'm looking for a particular thing and I know they have it (such as the athletic shoe stores here generally always have what I'm looking for and the Maxway has cheap household/party items such as burners - for entertaining). Otherwise, it's not a mall to walk around and browse...not much to see.
This was my first time at the Planet Fitness in the West End and I actually liked this one more than the others that I've previously visited. Friendly staff and I liked the layout of the room and equipment. I think that I've found my new home gym. AND... there weren't a whole bunch of people in there. I had a very peaceful workout.
add a little bit more variety before the colonizers takeover & i can stand behind the staple. i appreciate it on a night im need of some costume jewelry or a quick screen fix, but i would love this place more if it benefited my community more as a reflection of the wellness businesses (640 Soul Veg Healthful Essence) surrounding it
You have different food courts, different shopping store's, nail shop, beauty store, barber shop. Rainbow, Citi trends, Maxway, American deli, footlocker, Sally's, and phone place inside the mall. Different place outside the mall and around the way. The mail is by the Westend train station, you will have too go southbound.
I'm from up north city trends is a bargain shopping store and I love it.. It's just to many of them young dudes all around the mall to even feel comfortable going in the mall.. all of them selling something and it's just not a good look for the mall it turns regular shoppers in another direction to go shop...
Going to this mall isn’t my cup of tea. It looks a little run down and always have so many people hanging out in the front. I do like that there are a lot of stores with reasonable prices of their items , but as a place to go all the time and/or take my family I would pass personally.
Not the best mall I have ever been to, but not the worst either. Has a dope shoe store and a barber shop inside. Like was mentioned in a previous review, probably not the safest place to travel alone as a young female, the outside in the front and across the street are pretty sketch.
The Mall West End has been a place where I can enjoy shopping and feel as energized as when I was a student at Morehouse in the mid to late 90's. Shopping there is safe...the stores are clean...the merchandise is wonderful...and the food superb. Definitely an experience worth having.
I grew up in Atlanta so I remember when this mall was the place to be in the SWATS. Now it’s just a run down hole in the wall called a mall. I guess it only still stands because it’s probably a historic site on Ga’s registry. Should be called the Dead Mall of the West End
Not sure what people are looking for by giving this place less than 5 stars; but, my rating is based on the fact that you can literally park anywhere in or near the mall and there are many shops and boutiques for every occasion. Great place to visit. Highly recommended.
Not very many places to shop...more less a hang out spot. The mall itself is clean...however the outside isnt...plus it's surround by hustlers and beggars..... consider the location....enough said....take no cash that way you're honest about saying I just don't have it
It was a good selection of stores in the mall. Some spaces that were closed/pending opening. Along with a few descent eateries. I will definitely return to shop again. It was more to what met the eye on the outside. Nice surprise on the actual inside of the mall.
The mall was average. The ladies room was a hot mess. You could smell it before entering. I declined to enter. Although cleaning staff were there, the mall did not have the scent of cleanliness nor disenfectant. The people wore masks and distanced where needed.
I wanted to buy some hats for my man from a store called "Lids". I found just what I wanted and the customer service was impeccable. I also purchased some jewelry from one of the many kiosks located inside the mall. A very productive and enjoyable visit! …
Sadly this place is all nostalgia. Nothing is the same. Its dead. Shopping in the mall has reduced to "thot wear" and sneakers. In the 90s and early 2000s this was a fun hangout spot. So chill and black. Now its gone. Its sad. I hate its what it is now.
Shopping in the hood, you want the latest stuff , they got it. Dont let the hood stop you from comming, parking is free with plenty of security in the parking areas and plenty inside. Never had a problem with anyone. Bathrooms not too cool, bad smell.
Moe is nice , and he works well ,with people. the customer service and great . when returning back to atl i would recommend shopping the silver hut in the west in mall , he was patient and helped me find the necklace i wanted at an affordable price !
I drove all the way from Butts County. Jackson ,Ga and Pam the manager was very helpful to my needs, so i bypassed Southlake Mall just because she was awesome and her customer service was great !!! Would take that drive any day. Thanks S. Thompson
Disappointed in the previous owners, they sold a historic land mark. They could have easily remodeled the mall, and made nessary repairs. Add more stores. Their nothing historically left in the westend. It’s now been catered to the old white folk
It is so dead here, I'm not sure how they keep the lights on. Save for a handful of businesses, there isn't reason to come here. The "security guards" do not garner a feeling of safety as they sit at their table scrolling through social
They are going through something now , some vendors closed but alot of the clothing vendors are still doing their thing treating customers well still a good place to shop...and the food is A-1..I'm sure you should have a good experience.
I went to Shoe Show which was directly across the street from The Mall West End. When we called, The Mall West End was provided as a landmark for locating the store. The Shoe Show store was easy to find with the mall as a landmark.
Since moving in the area I feel they could atleast upgrade the mall appearance it has the same old boring look. Would be nice to see some upgrade and changes to the mall not a bad place just not too appealing/ welcoming for now.
This is the worst mall and place you'd ever want to go too none working people hang out at in this neighborhood , my bag has been taken three times I'd rather drive a country mile to a better mall than this one STAY AWAY PLEASE?
I accompanied my grandson to buy some tennis shoes. I must admit, Westend Mall isn’t what it used to be, but it’s always my go-to place for name-brand tennis shoes. The prices weren’t too steep and were quite affordable.
I love this mall. It is historically meaningful to the city of Atlanta. When I want to get back to my roots of this city I go here. The same stores, great drip, and it's always a car show going on in the parking lot.
This place has potential. Good security presence. Seriously needs store variety and engagement activities. Few stores there have store redundancy. Food court should not be a ghost town and outside is a little hoody.
What can I say about this mall that you don't already know about the reality of malls, that they're dying out? Online shopping's making malls obsolete. It's ok I guess. I really just went there to use the bathroom.
Always a great place to check out. If I told you every good thing I would go on and on for at least one whole day. There aren't any bad things over all it's just hard to find my sizes. For example 15inch shoes.
I was scared coming here. I had to go to Journey's store first time coming here and never again. I didn't feel safe at all despite security. Like one customer said, you better be strapped or don't go at all!
I love the fact that it was not a mall with all of those expensive stores they have some stores that are t decent priced and they are not trying to be way up in prices just because of it being a mall
It depends on what you are looking for in a mall. It's okay but I would never eat here. The bathrooms are gross. Do not go to the nail shop. But they have a beauty supply store and kids place I love.
It’s a cultural institution leasing to community pillars & up-and-coming entrepreneurs!!! It needs some TLC & some community grants could help with a facelift, but this mighty hall still stands tall
This mall is rather small. It could use a interior and exterior face lift. There are zero classy women's clothing stores. There is zero ambiance. Ppl loitering and talking loudly is a big problem.
It would've been nice to have known that they didn't open until noon because it said 11am online, so I had to wait in the parking lot for almost 45 mins. Other than that, it was a good experience.
Older mall needs some upgrades. Unique products sold to the predominantly black community. I especially like the lady who sales oils there and City Trends has great prices for name brand clothes.
Im always gone support small black business so i will go again. Babershop, shoes, clothes and more. O just love the westend area and support thos steping out in faith... Shop 2queenit.com
This mall had the basic needs. Nothing spectacular if your into luxury. It is usually clean and good if you take Marta. Usually closes at 8 and usually crowded on weekends.
All the stores as I knew them from back in the day were gone. I was there because of a nurses health fair I attended. But clearly all of the old stores were gone …
Definitely not the atmosphere or shopping like previous years, but you can still come in here and get what you need, Nails hair, shoes, clothes, books, jewelry and more!
2 good clothing stores. If everyone was taught to be HAPPY AND UPBEAT would be nice. Most places the employees act like they really don't give a damn... I just leave...
Probably one of the most dead and useless malls. Has about 15 stores open and a food court. Not much and lots of cheap quality stores. The wings were good if anything.
Just a very few words about this place. I strongly suggest just to avoid that area all together. I'll label it as one of the danger zones and leave it at that
I only go to this mall for my sons to get hair cuts by Walt but gave 4 ✨ because the lady in a store I was shopping was very nice and held a nice conversation
Such a little sad mall. Just has a few stores in it. Not sure how long they will be there...needs some revitalization or to be put out of its misery!
Surprisingly quiet & clean. Security presence makes one comfortable. I drove my Maserati there & it was not tampered with during my 15min there.
My people need to work on bathroom upkeep Found nice authors, mother and daughter, who've written plenty books that inspire minorities. Chërie
Didn't understand how this place was even in business. Everyone in there was rude and disrespectful to us I guess because we were outsiders.
Took my Kids to The Barber Shop 2 located inside the mall. And the barber was Shelby and she did a great job. The mall however, was just ok.
I don't even recognize the place anymore. I can tell they are trying to make a difference. Just clean your bathrooms.. Germs still exist!
Interesting is all I have to say. I grew up in an area off of Martin Luther King Blvd in Maryland and living on the Westside of Bmore
Not always shopping for myself here, so it I snice to have a place to hang when others still shopping. Clean bathrooms, good stores.
The outside aesthetics of this place could definitely use some cleaning up. But once you're inside it's a pretty good place to Shop.
This is a historical part of Atlanta no matter what be careful coming for a shopping trip though js I am Atlanta I said what I said
Half the shops are closed ,fish in the pocket is gone , It's so empty and hollow, it needs a refresh or close down one
The West End most definitely needs an update, but it has many shops where you can fine something in you price range.
Not a safe place to shop! SOME Nice stuff for INSIDE!!!! BUT NOT SAFE TO BE! SOMETHING IS ALWAYS POPPING OFF THERE!
Authentic African handmade earrings, necklace bracelets, woven hand fans, art and clothes... love it! will return
No words. I gave 2 stars because I was able to buy a tshirt needed and the associate in City Trends was polite.
It was great got fish and fries from kitchen soul food and went to CitiTrends and Dollar tree and then home
Couldn't go on the inside because of covid-19. So my crew and i chilled in the parking lot for selfies.
Had a nice parking lot meet n greet didn’t go in but the mall had plenty of parking and def was busy
The mall was not so clean and really did not have too much in it much approvement needs to be done
The American Deli is cool. Definitely in the trenches, but there are some dope shops in the area.
Just love this mall it's just all the drugs they be selling in front of the mall that bothers me
If you hood and like that lifestyle you'd enjoy the stop and shop.. I mean the mall at west end
Someone should invest and restore this Mall. It's a community landmark and has great potential
Not the best mall couldn’t find nothing for my son everything was either big or small for him
I visited Sunday most shop was close but it was lovely the few shops open Shopped on …
Dead mall. There's no life in this mall. This was a glorious place now there no life rhere.
This is a dying mall and soon it will be torn down to make way for a mixed use community.
Most of the stores are closed down. Only 2 places to eat left. Its a sad little place.
