I feel absolutely horrible leaving this review, but I feel as though I’ve been pushed to this point. I have taken time out of my day to read past reviews on this page and can tell you the good reviews are clearly FAKED. I took my car to this shop for a service. Prior to taking it in I called up to ask the price of the service. I was told $80, in which I was quite impressed with. My mother and I took my car in. There were no seats in the office so we had to stand in the doorway in which we watched my car get worked on. Straight away there were clear RED FLAGS. First off, the workers didn’t bother to actually check tires or brakes, second off they brought problem after problem to my attention in which they took upon themselves to fix without asking my permission first. They never mentioned prices at all. Eventually once they finished we went to pay in which we were SHOCKED to hear they were charging us $280 , THATS RIGHT 280. When we asked what for he mentioned the service was $90 then everything he fixed but he couldn’t be specific on prices. Suddenly tho he lowered it to $250 as he saw our reluctant. He really really did not want to give us a receipt yet another red flag but stupidly We paid it. I get into my car and attempt turning it on and my car wouldn’t even start. From perfectly fine to not starting. The man charged my battery tells me to take it on a spin in which I did. We come back he doesn’t even check the battery power says it’s fine then I get home and it stopped starting again. My mum and I called RACV who said the only problem I had with my car was my Battery in which I then had to pay $165 to replace so $415 later I was not impressed. A couple days go by and I call the mechanic. First off he acted like he didn’t charge us $250. Luckily enough we got a receipt. Then he starts yelling that we’re liars accusing him of scamming us. Anyway we went back and forth listening to their lies until we brought up RACV. He goes into a panic and offers us all our money back but he just didn’t want us to go back. WE WERE PERFECTLY HAPPY WITH THAT. Except two weeks go by still no refund. We call again and he lies saying he didn’t offer the whole amount he only offered $100 which he did send a few days later. Then he says he’ll add another $30 but that’s it. So we settled. I still paid $120 for a garbage service at a garbage place.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. I could not agree any more with the last review. Ill add though its a sexist thing, if youre a man they will charge you cheaper than if you're a woman because they assume men know more about cars. I brought my car here and like the last reviewer said clearly red flags. They did a horrible job. Didnt even want to fill out my service book. They over charge, they lie and they're shifty. DO NOT GO HERE. Their cheaper prices arent worth the damage that they put on your car. I tried them a second time and again both owners Fadi and Ali say two different prices for everything, they choose the price based off how much they can scam off you. I've now never gone back and never had a problem again.

I found The Mechanics when I was searching for places to fix my car's front broken suspension. I called a lot of places and these guys were the only ones that were straight up with me regarding the quote. It is also important to note that they did not charge for a 'diagnosis' fee. Since, I was impressed with their honesty, I went on to repair my car with them. There were no hidden costs and the staff were very friendly as well. I recently went back to do a standard car service with them and will continue to do so in the future. Despite living quite far away from Campbellfield, it is well worth the drive to get their honest and excellent service!

I have recently moved house and this was my first time using The Mechanics Auto Care. I took my time doing my research before I decided to try this mechanics. I didn't know who to trust with doing a good job because I have been ripped off in the past. I was relieved to know I chose well this time - I was pleased with the prompt service and the care taken with my car. They met my expectations and was very reasonably priced. I have found my new regular mechanic!

Had planned to drive my car interstate and badly needed a service with a quick turnaround time. Was just after Christmas, I knew everyone would be completely booked out, luckily found these guys who helped me out big time! They noticed my brakes were poor as well and added new ones on the spot. Within an hour I was back on the road! Very happy with the car now and very reasonable prices, will definitely be back again!

I have been servicing all my cars here for past 4 years and I can say that Ali is the best mechanic in Melbourne. He has a very good grip on technical and mechanical aspects of Car and provides an honest and best advice. I had an issue with my Nissan and was consuming excessive fuel than it was supposed to and Ali worked really hard to fix it. Thanks Ali

I wasn’t satisfied with the service. I had specifically asked them to check engine rattling but they didn’t. Then my sidelight stopped working the day after service ( cannot be coincidence). Also, I had to wait 20 mins to take my car out of the workshop because there was some random car standing in the way and there was noone to help or they didnt care.

Excellent work.I live in Tarneit and I have been going there for car service/ roadworthy etc for 3 years now. Very affordable cost. Very satisfied. Terrible service. I got my car serviced from them and it broke down 2 weeks later. I went back there and they said its wear and tear engine. My brother also got his new car serviced by them and it broke down a few days later. His car has never had problems. This mechanic is dodgy. Not worth it.Cheats

Ali has been so prompt and efficient , Responded quickly to the issue and solved it then and there, before I rang several garages and said had to keep my van for 2 days Also Ali did it free as had the right technical knowledge and fixed my sensor in 20 minutes Always recommend him

Friendly, affordable and prompt service. As I plan to sell my car I asked them to just advise on what items would be required for RWC and they were able to give me a rough idea of works and estimated cost, well above and beyond the scope of the service. Recommend

Highly recommendable It’s been three years that m going to this mechanic and the service which I’ve got from them is fabulous. Doesn’t matter what’s the issue with your car they will solve it anyway. Specially Ali is the humble person I’ve ever met .

Cor cheap service but will not recommend any more as for rwc they sent car somewhere didnt check tyre and rims as well as one diverse light wasnt working they damaged other rivers light as well Not happy at all for that
