One of the Mornington Peninsula's favourites The Milbri never disappoints if your hankering a little Mexican or a great spot to catch up for brunch. The cocktails are dangerously delicious with the John Farnham being a great favourite, Carne for dos (meat platter for two) is amazing value if you cannot decide and just want to try a little everything. Friday's generally has $10 cocktails which really needs no explanation how good a deal that really is. Stand out dishes for us was definitely the Gaucho steak which for our visits was the rump steak although on the higher end on price was well worth it, as the chef's always nailed our medium rare and the roasted capsicum and chipotle mole was just delicious. The Szechuan wings are always very tasty but a little spicy in case you have someone who doesn't tolerate spice well they may not handle these well. Great service from the staff always happy to chat and give pointers or share knowledge on the dishes. *Update* Recently went back this time with a huge family group 10 adults / 13 kids and the team at Milbri handled and served us like champions! Big groups aren't easy and adding kids even more challenging but we arrived to a tables set one for kids, one for adults... Food and drinks flowed without a single hitch for the whole night just amazing. Well done

Excellent food! In my short span of 6 days in Melbourne, this ranks near the top of my list. Chanced about this while googling for a good cafe enroute to Arthur's Seat. Was sceptical of the overwhelming positive reviews, but decided to try it anyways. I had my lunch here. I ordered crab tacos, pork roll, beer battered fries and beef short rib. A detailed review of each item: Crab tacos- contained a healthy amount of avocado with a generous piece of fried crab meat atop a tortilla. Would recommend this to anyone intending to visit this cafe! It costs $7 apiece, but $5 on Tuesday nights. Pork roll- was most disappointed by this dish. It tasted the most “average” alongside the other dishes. This is by no means saying that it is bad though. My one gripe: the advertised "american kimchi" tasted like pickles to me... I could just be unaware of the terminologies used around here:( Beer battered fries- SO GOOD!! Please try this if you ever visit! There's nothing much to say except that this is a moment on my lip which I would gladly exchange for to be on my hip. Beef short rib- the beef is stewed nicely to a high degree of tenderness. Would recommend as well. My total bill came up to $54 (including a cup of latte, which was pretty good). It most certainly is not the cheapest meal around, but for what it's worth, I would definitely return here when I revisit Melbourne!

Had an absolutely delightful experience at this cozy little Mexican joint. From the vibrant decor to the charming ambiance, everything set the mood for a perfect night out. The friendly staff takes time to talk to you and also makes suggestions based on your tastes. Let's talk food: the fried chicken taco was a hit—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. While the Wagyu beef taco was decent, it was eclipsed by its chicken counterpart. The soft shell crab slider was mouth-wateringly delicious, and the prawn slider, which was one of the day's specials, didn't disappoint either. Another special mention goes to the Sticky Korean chicken dish that was paired with pork belly and fried rice. Sounds like a lot, but the flavours were balanced beautifully. As for the drinks, the lychee jalapeños margarita was an exotic blend of sweetness and heat, and it was a steal at just $10. The Flaming Passion Fruit Mojito was also a winner in the theatrics department. Taste wise the lychee drink was the winner. Overall, a top-notch dining experience with great food and even better cocktails. Highly recommend!

We had breakfast here for the first time, and what a delight it was for the tastebuds! I didn't have the time to take a photo of the egg and bacon bun; was so hubgry I swallowed it whole. The delicious onion relish had a hint of Mexican spice to it, and the egg was beautifully cooked whilst the smoke-grilled ham was resting on super soft brioche buns! The egg and chorizo smash was... well, smashing! The fluffy scrambled egg was very light, contrasted by the not-so-spicy chorizo bits. The sauce was fantastic - tomato relish with aioli layered over crispy potato wedges. It was crunchy, savoury, light, spicy - all at the same time! The lady who brought out our food was professional, polite and welcoming. The ambiance was cozy and the whole place was very spacious! We'll definitely come back and try the dinner menu next time!

Had such an enjoyable meal here: wagyu tacos and crab sliders were amazing, loved the herb seasoning on the fries, caramelised walnut and pumpkin salad complemented the calamari with spicy Mayo nicely. We ordered more than we needed and took churros home, because you can't miss an opportunity for churros when the rest of the food is so amazing! Kudos to James in the kitchen! Josh and Jess provided attentive and accurate service in a comfortable environment with old tunes adding to the ambience. Thumbs up. Flaming Mojito is a must! Really enjoyed the Johnny Farnham and recommend the Strawberry Fields for you sweet tooths out there. Thanks to the Milbri peeps for such an amazing experience!

Mouth full of disappointment. Don't even bother. Ordered bacon and egg roll X 2, cheese burger , coffees and beetroot juice - $56 Wasn't allowed to add tomato to my bacon and egg roll. Asked if the burger atleast has lettuce and tomato which I was assured it did how it arrived without, chips were already cold and the burger was also cold once I got it back. Tomato was questionable. Bacon and egg rolls were basic but acceptable I guess. Beetroot juice was disappointing for $10 Unfortunately I am only single vaxxed so I had to get it takeaway, which is fine however I had to argue just so could use the toilet while I waited. Waste of time and money, you would be better off going to McDonald's a few doors down.

Wow! This place means business. One of the most pleasant experience we had on our 3-day trip to Mornington. Firstly the service is exceptional, you will be looked after here whether it's recommendations or anything else. The setting is best amongst any other place in the area. And the food is so good. The portions are great with respect to the prices. The night we visited they had a special on cocktails (10$) and they were all made brilliantly. Big shoutout to the bartender. Also, a special mention to our server Shelly. She made it a great experience for us! I have already recommended the place to few of our friends since returning back to Melbourne. We will definitely be back here.

  • Marcus Haynes

I have no idea how this place has the review level it has.. the roasted cauliflower I ordered I refused to pay for. It was half a boiled cauliflower with cumin thrown on a d placed under a grill. As others have said the chicken was dry, both for the baos and the tacos. Barely any fish in the fish taco and for $34 the calamari was a rip off. On the positive the pork.sliders were tasty but should be $10 not $16. I felt ripped off at the end after a shared dinner for 6 people.. very disappointing and the staff didn't care either. If this place is to stay alive the management need to look again at what they are doing.

My girlfriend and I went here for dinner on Sunday night and the waitress was very helpful. She explained the menu very well and we took her recommendation to try the meat platter and were delighted when it came out and it tasted amazing. It was totally different to any Mexican food we have had before as it had pickled onion etc and not any cheese or tomatoes in sight like the normal stuff. We like it hot so asked for it to be spiced up and the kitchen loaded it with chilli oil and lots of fresh chilli and wow our lips were on fire lol it was just what we wanted. Thanks for a great meal we will definitely be back again next time we are in the area.

My partner and I came here for dinner, and it was definitely a dinner worth remembering. We ordered a couple of different tacos, small and large sharing plates, and each dish was equally good. We also really loved that they were able to accomodate for vegan dietary requirements without it taking away at all from experiencing the same menu. Moreover, their extensive drinks menu, especially their cocktails are the perfect pairing with a hearty feast. I personally think The Milbri is underrated than how consistently excellent their food was. I'll definitely remember this place. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We've been returning to the Milbri when we visit the peninsula for the hot springs for a few years now and it is always a highlight of our trips. The Milbri always delivers! The food is delicious with unique combinations that just work so well. Generous serves too. Super friendly service. We've had most of the menu and love it all. The deserts and cocktails are also well worth it, the lychee and jalapeño marg is one of the best margs I've had in Victoria. We will keep returning, thanks for all the great feeds and memories guys!

Cannot recommend the team at The Milbri enough! We locked them in for our company Christmas party at the end of 2022 and were blown away by everything they provided. The attention to detail in the presentation of the food, cocktails and even the beautiful table setting they created for us completely outdid our expectations. Still dreaming about the Korean beef short ribs- they just fell off the bone... If you're looking for a company that can take the hassle out of planning events, look no further- everything was taken care of by the lovely Chris, who made the whole process so easy and enjoyable.

We chose this place as it had a few (not many as some reviews said) vegan options. Unfortunately the only tasty thing were the fries, vegan burrito was dry and flavorless, corn was burnt and the jackfruit taco was so disgusting I couldn’t swallow it. It tasted like the jackfruit was taken straight out of the can with no preparation whatsoever. Also very overpriced for what was offered. The only positive thing about this place is the friendly staff, however, I’d never come back to The Milbry, very disappointing experience.

Great restaurant with friendly staff. We ordered the Carne Por Dos which entailed bowl of chips, 8x tortillas, crumbed chicken, pork and beef bulgogi. There were 5x sauces, carrots, kimchi, onions and cucumber. You basically get the tortilla and build your filling to your liking. We ordered more tortillas as what was initially served wasn’t enough. Definitely coming back here again to try out the rest of the menu.

The restaurant was surprisingly empty on a Saturday night which rang alarm bells, because it used to be pumping and hard to get a table. We ordered burritos which came with fries, fries were inedible (even for children!) as they were overloaded with way too much salt. Burritos were soggy and the filling was like a big mash, difficult to distinguish any flavours. The restaurant was too dark. The playlist was good.

I have had multiple of staff come in and check in on how we are doing, I feel like there’s a lot of care that comes from this business! I can’t express enough that everyone should have a night out to this place couldn’t recommend it any higher !! Went to Millbri with 2 other families, 12 in total. We were forced to order tasting menu. They surprised us with chicken wings, cauliflower and pork belly as our dish. The wings were not flavoursome and cold.Cauliflower was undercooked, some parts charred badly but the scariest part was pork belly. The portion of pork belly shown on the photo feeds 12 people ( uncut and they gave us a knife to cut it the pork belly ourselves)!! This meal ended up costing us $950. If you have a big group, avoid this place as you will most likely be unhappy.

Went on a small road trip from northern Melbourne on Wednesday with my friend and found this gem!! Food was amazing, service was brilliant and the team were fun and friendly.. Massive shout out to Shelly for absolutely making our night.. brilliant conversation lead to her helping us sort out something special for Mums birthday...still buzzing several days later. Amazing. Seriously, if you’re anywhere near Rosebud.. or just looking forward to a nice drive, definitely check this place out!!!

  • Ty Johnson

Delicious well presented food, Great cocktails that pack a punch and a lovely fun atmosphere that isn't at all too noisy. Hands down one of the best curated menus I've experienced. The chef's selections for the tasting menu offered a great sample of the offerings and for once represented great value, we both left satisfied and thinking about our next visit. +1 for the great friendly staff. Will be back and will definitely be telling everyone I know to give this place a try.

The food here is VERY GOOD! They have lots of vegan options, which I loved. The vegan options are filling and absolutely delicious. Completely compare in portions/quality to non-vegan option. My favourite dish was the Patatas Bravas made vegan. Also had the grilled corn (vegan), nachos (vegan) and a couple of tacos! Was the perfect spot for a bday dinner!

Nice Mexican restaurant in Rosebud. Food is tasty, lots of options for drink, conveniently located across from the beach (but you can’t see the beach from here). Plenty of space around for parking making it easy to access the restaurant. Quite packed and not a lot of space (it’s not a big place), so highly recommend you book for a table before coming in. There are outdoor seating as well to enjoy the weather. Highly recommend to try the 10 tacos.

  • Tom Jiang

Excellent service and the food was fantastic, we had the meat platter for two and it came with a large selection of things to try, inc fried chicken, pork belly and beef brisket all cooked perfectly. Everyone on the table also loved the chips, I think it has chicken salt? Good selection of local beers and the kitchen was very accommodating to vegetarians.

We have been here a few time, brunch and lunch. This time I don't know what's happened, ee had the worst food I can remember having from hus place or any that we have been for a very long time. So much so thatwe will NEVER COME BACK Very disappointing. Work on the flavour guys, don't give out food that is soggy, ribs needs to be tasty juicy and smokey not full of fat and small.

Restaurant was slightly cold with no buffer between the front door and tables. Service was great, however food and drink were well and truly overpriced. I had two burritos and chips $34, my wife had nachos $34 both dishes should have been costed at about $24. Rather expensive for what was on offer.

If you are looking for Aussie Mexican, this is a great place. If you are looking for authentic Mexican, this is not. I tried 4 dishes, including tacos, burritos, and wings. These were anything but Mexican. Any Mexican fast food joints have better taste. Look at my wings photo. When was the last time you saw such dry, particularly cooked, fully crumbs chicken wings .

Asian mexican fusion restaurant that do brunch and also dinner service. The food was pretty average but generous in portion so would be good if you go in big groups. The chicharrones were dry and salty. The Taco and the grilled chicken were pretty average. The best thing out of the whole meal was the fried chicken although the accompanying sauces wasn't adding anything to the dish. Food - 6 Service - 7 Vibe - 7 Price - $$$

After struggling to find good food in this area for a while, we noticed the great Google and Zomato reviews for Milbri and decided to try it out. We were so lucky to have found such a delicious restaurant after a few disappointing experiences in Mornington Peninsula. The two of us had the Carne Por Dos (photo missing chips) and it was such a fun and delicious experience mixing and matching the condiments and meats.

  • Afsaneh Gh

Revising my previous review from 4 after visiting this place for the sixth time. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the food this time. My lamb ribs were small, fatty, and lacking in meat. Additionally, the menu has been changed to Mexican cuisine. Despite this, the staff remains friendly and accommodating, which is a positive aspect of the experience.

Had house made pasta made on site in a massive cheese wheel, I died and went to heaven! Partner had the chargrilled chicken and I also had the pumpkin and ricotta salad. Definitely be telling all our friends to come here

The staff was not concern about the people sitting outside in scorching sun, we asked twice to sit somewhere in shade but they made us sit in the most bright hot and warm sitting. There were heaps of empty reserved tables with umbrellas which remained empty until we had the entire meal. Couldnt enjoy my food due to their forced table sitting in sun. 31/12/201. Pictures attached for One star food.

In times like COVID lockdown, it’s important to support local. It’s also important that outlets don’t take locals for granted. We tried Taco Tuesday and were really looking forward to it. The images here are Instagram versus reality. Simply disappointing. How staff could allow that to leave the kitchen is beyond me. …

  • Alexandra Garraway

The food was ok but definitely over priced. Taste was bland, no flavour in meat. The tacos were very small, even the waitress told us on arrival they’re smaller than most other places order extra. Not a lot of food for a bit of money. Didn’t like the chicken tacos basically full of mayonnaise. Wouldn’t recommend. More
