Not a member; I know this church because it has welcomed and provided respite and sanctuary for people exercising their First Amendment rights on a number of occasions. Even when it may have been uncomfortable and personally challenging for them to do so, the congregation has been welcoming and open.
This is my home church. Everyone is welcome with no consideration. Coffee and snacks are served at the end of the service. If you are visiting or looking for a home church, come worship with us. The place is located in downtown DC, 2 blocks away from the White House.
I visited New York Avenue Presbyterian Church on March 24, 2018. This welcoming, warm, hospitable congregation welcomed marchers from all over who needed a place for a bathroom break, a warm beverage and some cookies. I also learned of its

Many Presidents from John Quincy Adams to Abraham Lincoln to Dwight Eisenhower have attended this historic, progressive church. We're inclusive and welcoming. Our motto...Reformed, always reforming.

This place provided meals and helped me when I had nothing to eat and nowhere to go. Go to place in Washington DC for food in the name of the good god Jesus Christ.
I have been visiting the place for help to get my life on track for months some of the staff is very helpful sometimes you can't get anything to eat though
Lovely Church that President Abe Lincoln attended (the bench where he sat on is still there) in the heart of DC. Park in the garage at 13th and H St NW.
The day center is amazing, very helpful for the homeless, a one stop shop to get help to get off the streets or to help make life easier on the street.
If you have lost your birth certificate, social security card or ID THEY CAN AND WILL HELP!!! GET THERE BY 7 am they only take the 1st 25 ppl.
I really appreciate the services this church does for the homeless, such as giving clothes and food and providing showers and laundry.
The church is beautiful but the staff are extremely rude and unprofessional! Please don’t deal with them they’re not helpful
I was here in DC for the January 21st Woman's March. They welcomed in everyone for cookies and bathroom facities.
Hosted clergy from around the country to protest immoral and unjust policies of our current administration.
Centrally located convenient. Orchestra rehearsal Sundays with Cafe Mozart around the corner to unwind.
Very nice people and what a historical place to see. President Lincoln went to that church.
Friendly, mission-oriented congregation with an amazing history that takes my breath away.
