A brilliant cafe with amazing views! The cafe alone is worth coming for just as much as the walk around the woods! The staff are always friendly. Even when they're running ragged, they always manage to take that time just for you! It's a good layout. Fair amount of seating inside, with plenty of seating outside. Toilets available round the side. Dogs are not allowed inside the cafe area, but there is a dog bowl available outside, with access to free water.

The staff are great with kids. There are plenty of kid friendly options, or you can ask them to edit a meal for kids. Great space for kids to run around!

A great little cafe within the ancient Oxlees Woods, sat on top of a hill with wonderful views looking south of London. The cafe has a wide ranging menu to choose from and there are suitable options for vegans and vegetarians, as well as good old fashioned English fry ups with bacon, sausage, egg, chips and beans. The staff are friendly and once you have ordered at the counter, your food will be brought to you when it is ready. Well worth a visit whilst on a weekend walk.

Lovely cafe near the top of Shooters Hill with fantastic views over Oxleas Woods and beyond, offering a varied menu at reasonable prices. It was busy as there was a live band performing, so I expected to queue for food, but I didn't have to wait long for my order to arrive. My friends and I enjoyed our meals and drinks and the consensus was that it was good value for money. I'd definitely come here again, to see other live music acts on Sunday afternoons and also to meet up for coffee etc. The car park was heaving so be prepared to park on the main road or adjoining streets, or better still, take the bus!

Truly is the best kept secret on Shooters Hill. The menu is vast and quality food is served. Hospitable and hard working staff always provide excellent service. In addition to all of that the views and scenery is mesmerising. Highly recommend.

Visited here today and was really looking forward to treating myself to a rare lunch out. Despite being situated in the woods, they do not allow dogs to sit OUTSIDE. They failed to tell me this until after they took my money. As soon as I entered the cafe, the staff all stared at me and a manager stood by the till, making my visit very uncomfortable. I then sat on a picnic bench waiting for my lunch, then a lady came out to tell me I couldn’t sit there. I was made to sit on a park bench on the opposite side of the railing, so I had to eat my lunch on my lap. I appreciate this may be a decision of the management and no fault of the staff but why run a cafe in a woods, if you are not dog friendly? Never mind sitting inside, they wouldn’t let us sit outside!!!

  • Elaine C

They left the gate opened and my small dog entered, I quickly followed to get my dog out as the restaurant doesn't allow dog. All this didn't even last more than 5 seconds as I escorted my dog, and the staff approached me angrily and told me off rudely. This is a forest area with loads of dogs, if you cannot tolerate any single second with a dog in your outdoor seat area, keep your gate closed! The dog cannot read the sign, and the rude manner is certainly not necessarily when it's not done intentionally and an obvious effort and action is in place to rectify it. Was planning to have brunch take-away and then completely put off by this very unpleasant experience.

Love the Oxleas Woods café, not only does it have an amazing view of the South East and Kent countryside, their food always hits the spot after a long walk, run or just meeting up with friends and family for breakfast or lunch. The Turkish breakfast is delicious and always my go to, lots of variety on the plate and cooked really well. The prices are very good considering the higher cost of living right now and for the tasty food, friendly service and atmosphere, it's a superb café for everyone!

We had some great home cooked food, a curry with trimmings and a really wholesome chicken risoni soup. The café is very family friendly with options to sit indoors or out on the terrace with a great view looking down over the meadows and woods, towards south London. Parking is very convenient, just up the hill behind the café. There are lots of opportunities to take a walk in the woods or meadow nearby.

I am sorry that I gave 5 stars because ..... So I ordered a burger with no real expectation but hoping and I received an amazing burger with one of the best meat, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The pickles were very nice as well and that bacon in the middle with the fried onions were complementing the beef. Everything together made the perfect burger ..... because you definitely deserve 10 out of 10 stars for one of the best Burger I have tried in London. Thank you so much. I highly recommend it to everyone, just try it and let me know

Spectacular view, terrible coffee! Doesn’t seem to matter what you order, latte, flat white, cappuccino, filter… it all tastes the same. Like warm milk. I usually meet a friend here for walks and refreshments. We’ve taken to saying, “wanna go for some ‘brown milk’? Love this place, but could you please sort out your coffee, it’s beyond weak!!! Times are tough but don’t water down the drinks, customers will stop returning.

I love this place. I go there regularly - love the Turkish breakfast, love the Texas burger. Loved everything else I've had here too. Lovely views, great atmosphere, really nice staff. You can't go wrong. There are even loads of dogs to cuddle - what's not to love?

Staff and service so good but the coffee is the worst! This is the 5th time I’ve had coffee here always hoping it will improve but it’s awful and bitter, tastes so bad and £3.90! Please change to a decent brand as for that price you could have Lavazza!

We came yesterday 11 June to listen to music and have a beer. The music was awful folk style. The price of the lager almost £6 for a pint lol. The toilets are dirty. This place could be brilliant...more popular middle of the road music....cleaner toilets that are badly in need of a refurb. AND the prices are crazy. Such a shame

It's nice, clean and quiet here. The cafe do not accept credit cards nor debit cards. You can only pay cash or cheque here. Great menu choices. You can have full English breakfast, sandwiches, baguettes, hot and cold drinks, children's menu, veggie breakfast etc. Especially I like a view through the windows. *UPDATE* They have started to take cards now. Minimum spend is £5.

  • Ali Taylor

The cafe was very busy when I went earlier today, but clearly folk know a good thing when they find it The cheese omelette I had with some very tasty chips was very tasty, the only downside was having to eat outside because there was no tables available inside. Thankfully though it wasn't too windy and it did mean that I had a great view while I ate my lunch.

Nice cafe with fantastic views of South London. Very popular with dog walkers. Toilets on site, car park nearby. Main complaint is you can only pay with cash so do need to be prepared these days. Lots of outdoor seating, good for picnics. Water station nearby for walkers and dogs. Live music often at a weekend in the summer.

  • Clare Isakson

Loved this cafe! Good food and good prices and amazing views of the lovely meadows. I mean hat a hidden gem in London. The staff are super nice, it's dog friendly here, can't fault it. Tons of indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor has umbrellas for tables if needed. Would recommend the burgers and fries here More

A local institution perched at the top of a hill with great views of Oxleas and the surrounding area. The staff are always welcoming, helpful and family-friendly. The menu offers most of the cafe standards as well as delicious and freshly cooked specials. There are also ice creams and freshly squeezed juices.

Lovely tasty snacks and food. It felt very safe with screens up for social distancing. They take card payments and have real coffee as well. There is a seating area which dogs are not allowed but benches around the fence so that you can sit with your food or drink and enjoy the views!

One of the best park cafes in London I know. Amazing wide menu, great food, reasonable prices, friendly staff and fantastic views. The perfect stop near the end of Stage 1 of the Capital RIng walk. There were 16 of us but, forewarned, they coped excellently with our food orders.
