I have to say the food at this restaurant was excellent but the service could definitely be better! The hostess who greeted us at the door had an attitude from the get go, I understand if you are busy but it is your job to be pleasant especially if you are the face of the cafe! The server we had was actually much better, much more pleasant, she did make ab error with our order but it was rectified quickly. There were two servers and the place was full in my opinion they definitely need another server. Our food took a long time to be brought out. Once our food arrived however it was very good! Also my friend ordered a mimosa and when it came out it was VERY small! The windows and doors are highly due a bit of an overhaul, it was very drafty and cold inside and we had a table that was situated a little further in than some of the others, the people by the door were freezing and it was not a particularly cold day. Good food most of the time, needs a revamp.

I had brunch at their previous location. After they have moved, I have been here a couple of times. I always like to order their Trucker or Super Trucker. I know I can’t finish the whole dish and am always happy to pack the leftover home, so I can enjoy the rest of the food later They are located right on East Hastings. There is a lot of street parking. I usually park at the residential area and walk to the restaurant. They put up a sign at the entrance and ask customers to wait to be seated. They are always full and a lot of customers wait to have breakfast and lunch here on weekdays and weekends. It’s a bit crazy but it’s good in a way that people can dine out after a long Covid period. They only do breakfast, brunch and lunch. They close at 3pm and don’t offer dinner. The servers are always friendly and polite. I do recommend this Canadian restaurant for brunch.

Absolutely exceptional! The wife and I stopped in after visiting a shop a couple blocks away. I got a Cheeseburger special and the wife got the fried chicken sandwich. The food came out still REALLY warm! The burger was absolutely perfect, and we added an egg on top which just took it over the top! The chicken was moist and fresh and you could tell it was hand breaded. The fries were just a smidge underdone, but we let them sit for a minute and the remaining heat cooked them a little more. Looking around the restaurant, we saw breakfast dishes; bacon and eggs, and pancakes, and everything looked amazing! We'll certainly stop in the next time we're in Vancouver! As tourists from the midwest US, we're not here often. But, I can say we absolutely found a gem!

I finally got the chance to have breakfast here and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Super Trucker - the pork belly was succulent and went very well with the eggs and potatoes. I'll try the pulled pork next time which will be a nice excuse to come back! The pancakes were also delicious - thick and fluffy while having subtle crispy exterior. Service was attentive as my coffee was constantly topped up. The diner's open and rustic atmosphere has a relaxing setting, especially for a wet, wintry day in the city. I look forward to my next visit!

I was looking for a cozy and non-franchised breakfast house and came across this place. At first google maps sent me to the old location but as I drove further down the road I spotted this vintage style diner with its own brew by the long line ups in front dying to get inside. It has a charm about the place that is modern meet Fonz. The breakfast was excellent and fresh. The photo I submitted was called the “Trucker” (2 eggs, 2 pancakes with pulled pork, pork belly and a dollop of butter all staked over top of home cooked fries) and my friend had the original “2-egg-any-style”. Both came out still hot. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and on point with the coffee too ups. I highly recommend this gem in Hastings (not far from PNE Playland).

Fantastic experience here midweek having lunch. We couldn't possibly eat the full plate. The pulled pork was delicious. The service was friendly and professional despite being a packed lunch crowd. Prices were moderately high but fair for the service and amount of food. There was no sense of being rushed. We will return but not likely on a weekend when the lines are daunting.

Been a while since I’d had Red Wagon. They were featured on DDD (Diners, Drive Ins, Dives) a while back. There’s usually a steady long line up for dining in so it’s best to get there early while you’re not hangry yet. Their popular items are the Pulled Pork pancakes and their Breakfast Banh Mi (pork belly) is a savoury play on the Viet classic banh mi. This time around, ordered takeout through Door Dash. Unfortunately they do not have a full menu on Door dash so, had to opt for different options. Ordered the Cobb salad and Crispy Pork Belly. The hollandaise was spectacular, the pork belly tender, and chicken was crispy. Would def suggest a dine in experience over the take out.

Tried a new place for brunch. Red Wagon Cafe staff we very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere/decor was bright, lively and very comfortable. We ordered Eggs Bennie, the Super Trucker and Wagon Burger. Pull pork that came with Eggs Bennie was dry but overall, it was OK. The Super Trucker, subbed pull pork for bacon. The bacon was delicious, pancakes light and pork belly had a nice crisp to it. Overall, satisfying and filling dish. Maybe a bit too big a dish, they do have just Trucker selection, less meats. The burger was also delicious. My son loved it! Overall, great place to have brunch. We'll definitely be back to try out some other items.

They open at 11am and when we arrived about 8 minutes later, they were already half full. Granted this was Boxing Day but I got the impression that it isn't uncommon. The woman seating us let us know that due to how busy they are that it may be a bit longer of a wait for our food than we anticipate. I appreciated her honesty. The place is plain but the food is presented eloquently and tasty. My boyfriend doesn't generally like cornbread but enjoyed the way they grilled it a bit so much that he brought what he couldn't eat home. We had eggs Benedict and the pork belly meal. It is evident why this is a busy place. The food is delicious. I'm glad we brought our out of town guests here.

  • Jeff Martin (DAD! the Impaler)

The hollandaise was transcendent. The smoked salmon brought me to a magical land of whimsy, a gallop through rolling hills on the back of a unicorn! I don't believe in heaven, nor do I subscribe to the teachings of the Buddha. I worry not of Taoist pragmatism or any such nonsense, but I have kissed the lips of true divinity on the deftly poached pillows and flowing golden nectar which cascades like a roaring river through toasted muffins of the old country. You will be forever changed by this sublime experience.

I didn't know Red Wagon had changed venues. Same street, same side... venue with more windows & more space. Our server: fantastic young lady. The price of breakfast was worth it for the ambience, the service, the experience and the food itself. I had the brisket breakfast. The cornbread was as delicious as the brisket. I ordered a side of it to take home. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend the experience of the Red Wagon. See ya there!

I first came here days after I moved to East Van, back in 2021. It quickly became a favourite spot, and I bring every friend who visits BC here. The food is just so good every time, the service is efficient and friendly, and the vibe is simple and sincere. Two years later I have moved to North Van but I still find time to come down to Red Wagon every few weeks <3

Went on the Sunday of a long weekend, pleasantly surprised about the minimal line up. They currently only have 6 tables for people dining in, with a limit of 4 people max per table. Service was great, food was delicious as always and coffee was STRONG. Real strong... so lots of cream for me, please! I usually get the super trucker but was craving a sando and switched it up by getting a croque madame, my partner got the pork belly plate. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a hearty brunch place!

  • Patricia Greig

We drive 45 minutes to get to the Red Wagon frim Tsawwassen to East Vancouver. Line ups always but worth the wait! I almost always order traditional eggs benny with back bacon and homemade hollandaise and instead of english muffins i substitute the jalapeno cornbread. My husband has the truckers breakfast with pork belly and pulled pork, 2 eggs, pancakes and toast and hashbrowns. We dont eat for the rest of the day! Always worth the trip!

The food is good. The space is small. Line builds up by 9:30am during weekends. So be there early! They have big servings so for every breakfast menu (prices from $11-$16) the pancake is ok. Eggs benedict is also good. But the pulled pork is the best. It taste like lechon paksiw with adobo (A Filipino cuisine). Their tea is also good they got Higgins & Burke bagged teas. Coffee is refillable, also good. Worth the price and the wait. the servers are accomodating and approachable.

Had food from their new dinner menu. Phenomenal. Had the Bistro burger cooked medium and a last word cocktail. Both knocked it out of the park. Affordable cocktails. Will definitely be back.

It was my first time here, the vibe was really nice and the staff were super friendly. For the food however, I expected better quality. Everything I had on my dish (the trucker) tasted like old used oil that has been overused, even though the food was made right there, it didn't taste fresh.

The service was very good. I was debating between two options and the server was direct about which of the two, which I like. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and was able to substitute the meat for eggs. The pancakes were good, but the middle was still raw on one of them and the whole batch was dense. The scrambled eggs were amazing! My fiancé ordered the trucker. The jam was excellent! The potatoes lacked flavor. The pancakes were good. Excellent maple syrup!

My partner raves about this place, for good reason. Can't express how good the pancakes and pulled pork and pork belly were which makes a review difficult. Just great. Also the music and service are bopping.

The Red Wagon is a classic of Vancouver. Everyone must come here and have their breakfast at least once! I know they’ve been opened for so long and their long lines up have never died down since they opened! I know a lot of people come here to try their popular pulled pork pancakes but I also highly recommend the chilaquiles!! They got a great atmosphere here, very vintage and hipster. Great friendly staffs and service here, so don’t miss this place!

  • denvir dobbs

Yo to be honest it's exactly what I want. The food doesn't taste like it all came out of a bag that's been Ina freezer. I'm not looking for a life shattering experience but in a day and age where the solid diner is seemingly a thing of the past this place exceeds expectations. I love it here and I'm glad it exists.

This place is special in their kind service and great food. The food is very flavourful and different. Their pancakes are so fluffy with some crisp on the outside. Bacon is thick, smoky and cooked to perfection. Eggs bennie were Their open sign said they’re open from 9-2 which is a pity. Loved the little red wagons displayed throughout the restaurant. Overall a pleasant experience and the all day breakfast menu was above my expectation.

  • Frank Schmidke

First timer at Red Wagon and will be back! Waitress today was very good in serving our table, awaiting the right time to take orders and suggesting the menu. The food, the sausage sandwich was great, the fries great and the pancakes were very good too (I would have preferred unsalted butter over the served salted butter). All in all a great place to drop by for a casual, quick lunch.

This is my first triple D restaurant, and I have to say Guy Fieri doesn't lie. The pancakes are floofy and the pulled pork is proper. And the pork belly bacon.... Oh.... That Bacon. Having to have lived in Hong Kong for more than ten years and tasted numerous roast pork BBQ, this stuff at red wagon is proper crispy and tasty, with loads of flavor. The staff are cool and pleasant. The decor has this really vintage feel to it. I love it.

  • Ken B.

Everything was really good but what really stood out was the pork belly, it was very meaty, thick and lean but super soft. The Jack Daniels syrup is a hit as well. The staff were friendly and did not make us feel rushed even though it was very busy. It’s best to come early as there is a lineup later in the morning.

Every thing on my plate was room temperature. (Maybe I was lucky it wasn’t in the fridge). The yolks were also broken. This place uses really, really good ingredients, so to me this was kind of a waste of food. I think the waitress thought she gave us great service. She was alone in thinking that. It wasn’t very even busy. Disappointed and looking for a new breakfast joint.

Gorgeous!!! So so good. I had pulled pork eggs benni on cornbread and it was delicious. The home potatoes that came with it were one of the best I've ever tried. My friend had pancakes and they were perfect! So good in fact, I had to order 1 pancake as a side. Which was very good value actually - only $3! I would definitely put this on the top of your list of places to try. There is usually a wait but it moves pretty quick!

  • Sam Devlin

The kind of place that sticks a cube of butter on top of the brisket that sits on top of the pull pork sitting on these super good pancakes! This is a lumberjack breakfast! You can hike 2 days straight after one like that! The place seems run down a bit for a tourist (lot of homelessness around there) and the food a bit on the greasy side..Really happy we stopped in..

  • Ash

So glad I came across this place while staying in Vancouver! I ordered the Eggs Benedict with back bacon and pork belly and sausage on the side. Food was good, experience was dodgy. First, the food was excellent, love that they use a chicken thigh in the sando instead of a breast. The bacon on the salad was spectacular. The fries were too soft for my taste, but otherwise the food was good. Service was friendly albeit slow and overwhelmed.

A great place for all day breakfast. Recommend: super trucker and bbq brisket!! Service: sometimes spotty. Good portions. Brisket was tender and juicy, jalapeño corn bread had real bits of corn and jalapeños. Potatoes: not the best. Pork belly: melt in your mouth deliciousness. Pulled pork: ok/dryish. Bacon: smoked and tasty.

Love the food! Prices included tax when I went yesterday, so keep that in mind..... it's not as expensive as it may appear compared to other places. Everyone has to try the pulled pork pancakes once! Service is okay, pretty average, but quick to top up a cup of coffee.

A relax place for breakfast. Wide variety of food in affordable price. The pancake is unlike normal fluppy one but a bit crispy, interesting receipt. Just the sausage is way too salty. The coffee is dark roast that I need to add cream, which I normally drink black...

Finally made it to the red wagon and it's worth the hype and the wait. I had the pork belly and subbed in the jalapeno cornbread and it hit the spot. The food is well portioned and cooked well. Super tasty! Staff are great too. Cant wait to go back.

I️ usually love it here. Today I️ got the fish and chips it was overly oily and didn’t taste as expected. The slaw was awesome though. The croquettes de madame was good.

Great experience first time here. Pulled pork and pork belly was amazing! Good friendly environment. VERY BUSY but cozy. Fair price for food. Service was exceptional.

Pork belly, pulled pork pancake, beef brisket with corn bread. First time, pretty good. Wait time was decent for Sunday brunch.

Like most of the popular brunch spots in town, this place is small and very popular. Get there early to avoid a long wait.

My favourite place for brunch in Vancouver. Great food, quick service. The best plate in my opinion is the Super Trucker!
