Overpriced, aggressive, dishonest. I bought a basket of fruit and vegetables from The Rose. Normal stuff. The checkout process was a shambles, they didn't seem to know what their items cost and between the two of them, they mumbled through whatever prices they charged me. Seemed a bit much (£20). I asked for the till receipt. Several items were rang up as £3, seemed a bit much. I asked which vegetables or fruit cost so much. They were unable to explain, even though they entered the prices by memory. When they managed to decide what was expensive, I said I'd return those items and the two of them became argumentative and aggressive. Not helpful, understanding, or in any way giving customers service. They blamed me for not knowing the prices and claimed all the prices were displayed outside. They were absolutely not. I believe this shop is not honest with their billing for produce and they treated me in a way that felt threatening. In the end I just left with my groceries. One day later, one of the vegetables in the fridge is rotting! Not fresh, not honest. Don't go.
There are no labels with prices of the fruits. They charge you every time however they want. They never give receipts. A handful of plums and a croissant cost me £6. I'm still wondering if I bought plums or truffles by mistake. …
This is probably the worst place to buy anything. I advise that you don’t both wasting your money. And the man always at the till was so rude and he actually swore at me. I bought something that was faulty and the refused to refund or exchange
Rude and expensive. It's not like there is a shortage of competition but this one behaves as though there is one. It was once a thriving shop but nowadays it is mostly empty of shoppers.
Really nice staff who go out of their way to help, very decent fruit and veg and a good selection of other foods.
A lot of products you can find here especially when it's late and the brand shops in the area are closed.
Nice shop, large range. Friendly staff. Been going there 13 years and no complaints.
