This place is a sham of a restaurant! Mind you it is extremely popular and highly rate which is why I have no idea why my friend and I got such lackadaisical service. First of all, I got there before my friend did so I got us a table. THERE WAS ALL BUT 4 groups of two in there. There was plenty of space and it was 5 o'clock. My friend and I are food blogger so we like to be seated in places that have good natural lighting; ie near a window. So I ask the gal, didn't get her name but if the manger reads this she was a Hispanic looking gal that was working on Saturday July 14 at 5 pm, if I could sit by a window she said no they were all reserved with a heaping amount of rudeness. So whatever I didn't want to fuss over it so I just sat where she wanted us to which was all the way in the back in darkness. So when my friend arrived about three minutes later she was wondering if we could sit elsewhere, somewhere with better lighting. We decided we to ask the waitress since the hostess gave me such sas. We waited 7 minutes, I clocked it, before even getting greeted. And we asked if we could move and she said sure and she sat us somewhere up front near the windows which was perfect! Now here's my gripe. Any other hostess might say we'll we have a reservation coming in at 6,or whatever time the reservation was for, if you won't be longer then that I will gladly seat you there or we have these other seats that might have good lighting for you. But no we were taken to the back with hardly any light at all.the waitress took our drink order and it took 9 minutes to get our drinks. Mind you again there's all but 8 people dining, it should not take that long for a drink. So she brought our drinks and we ordered an appetizer of lobster macaroni and cheese. It came out relatively fast but we never saw our waitress again. After she dropped it off she never came back to see how we're doing, see if we wanted to order more, NOTHING!!! We had to ask a buss boy to get out check was 46 minutes after she dropped the Mac n cheese off!!!! Also the Mac n cheese was good, it was definitely creamy and had good flavor but there was hardly any lobster on it. When looking at others photos on both Instagram and yelp there was huge chunks of lobster on top, ours looked like it was fake canned lobster or something. It was ridiculous. For two drinks and the Mac it came out to fifty dollars. I will never ever ever be back to this establishment. Ever and I will make sure everyone one I know and all of my followers know not to either. Seriously astonishing!!! If you're looking for amazing food and outstanding service I highly recommend going to 7 fusion la two blocks down. That's where we went and were extremely happy and thoroughly impressed with everything.
I've been to The Sherman many times in the past and unfortunately this past weekend was my last. I'm saddened to see that they've dropped their standards. I came during the weekend. I ordered appetizers, wings and an entree (The Sherman burger). First of all, to my surprise, all the food was brought at once. Our waitress didn't even ask us whether we wanted our food to come all together or appetizers first, like how it should normally be. As I'm staring at all the food in front of us, being visually overwhelmed, I started picking at the Mezze plate. The falafel on the Mezze plate was rock hard, you couldn't even slice into it. It could break a tooth! Then the honey bbq wings... although the outer glaze was tasty, the wings themselves were dry and chewy. I had to spit it out because I couldn't even chew and swallow it. Their famous Sherman burger, named after the restaurant I suppose... the beef patty was not seasoned. There was absolutely no flavor. I can't believe I'm saying this but you could get an In n' Out burger for way less money and much more flavor instead. The only tasty part of that burger were the fries. As far as their drinks, I used to love getting The Trolley. For $16 this drink was a big fail. The Trolley used to have a slightly sweet element to it, bursting with bright, almost citrus-like flavors. Not anymore. This drink was dull and drowned in its own terrible alcohol. I ended up spending over $100 for my food here and I regretted every second of it. What a shame. I'm sorry Sherman but you're standards have dropped and I will no longer be coming here or telling my friends and family to come here as well. To all the future customers, you've been warned.

This is a fan favorite of mine. I bring any out of town visitor here because it is a cute local spot with great ambiance. The cocktails are delicious (the spice mule is my go to), the staff are all really kind and some of the bartenders are hilarious. It has a very rustic feel with wood decor and big, old fashioned, string lights through the whole ceiling. There is plenty of seating, booths, tables, and bigger communal tables please the long bar. It is clean, and tastefully dimly lit. I'd recommend the tater tots every time, but so far everything on the menu I've tried has been tasty and has a unique "Sherman" twist to it. Bonus: There is a staircase in the back that leads to a second floor bar that is darker, quieter, and has a fun outdoor patio. This area has a beautiful bar that rests under a brick archway, with a mirror as the wall, illuminating the bar. You can sit at the cute bar or at the small high top tables, or if the weather is nice enough you and take your drink outside!

As soon as I took my first bite of the pork belly I knew I'd made the right choice. This place SLAPS. It doesn't start and end with the marvelous pig meat though; the service is great ♡. Taylor made me awesome drinks and was easy to communicate with, and she gave great suggestions and was nice overall. Then the food was like... wow this is real food from Los Angeles. It tastes incredible and was made with love and had me questioning why I haven't been here before. Anyway I'm pretty drunk but this place rocks and for sure come here because you won't regret it. I definitely don't. Also I didn't read any of the prices because I decided to send it tonight and just order whatever I wanted and then I felt like my total would be $70-75 when she was bringing me the tab and sure enough it was $72. I'm not saying I'm psychic but I am saying this place has predictable prices and you should come here. The atmosphere was dank too because no one talked to me or bothered me but the older gentleman near me let me talk to him a little so that was nice.

We had a large group including children. This restaurant has a warm vibe, they totally accommodated the large party. At the time there was no wait to be seated. Their food was fresh. With 9 adults and 5 kids we got to see many of their dishes, and everyone enjoyed their food. The appetizers came out promptly. Calamari was super delicious! Their drinks were good. (I wish they had more margarita options, but it's ok!) There were a couple of things that were off during the service that's why I rated the service 4/5. But the food is great, the atmosphere is great and the servers were nice people. If you're in the area; check them out!

We celebrated my nephew's 7th birthday here... (after laser tag across the street) They have a great kids' menu! We were a party of 9 adults & 5 kids. The staff totally accommodated.
if u want a nice intimate place to hang out, this is the place. We went on a Friday night, and boy wasn't busy. Even though it was We got Excellent customer service, they really take the time to take care of all their guest. The good is a little on the higher side, but the food is so delicious. I would would highly recommend the pork belly, omg it melts in your mouth. The mac and cheese is a classic and enough to share. Great place to have a date or just have a more intimate place to talk with someone/hang out. Drinks are great, if your not eating, they do have sections called the attic up stairs. It is also a great place to just drink and hang out with someone. Love this this place highly recommend.

The waiter made the whole experience another level! I had a reuniting with my son there and my son picked out the place it was my first time and I thought the server was his regular because he was so personable and so in the moment and adhered to all our needs with particular piquancy. His timing was impeccable, endearing, genuine, never overbearing and seemed to flow exactly to my impulses! The guy is definitely from another planet and an asset to your company bravo !!

We just arrived from the east coast and walked in with 3 rollie bags, backpacks, and an appetite after flying for 5 hours and taking an Uber from LAX. It was early and ample space for our gear away from others. The last time I dined here, it was the Spitting Chicken, so in honor, I had the Hot Chicken sandwich, and it was amazing. Had a bit of a kick but something anyone could eat. My daughter had mac-and-cheese with bacon. The salmon over salad was also nice. I really enjoyed the fries.

Vibe is great. Amanda and Christine were great! Let's talk about the food... Appetizers: Brussel sprouts, humus, Honey Balsamic wings and Calamari were all very good! Chicken sliders-need seasoning Chicken and couscous- not good lacked flavor Fish and Chips- nice portion and lacked flavor Cajun Chicken Penne-was very tasty Mac-n-cheese-needs salt, pepper and garlic powder The Sherman burger-was good Steak Frites- was mid. It needed more seasoning. Very good portions and beautiful presentation.

This was a great place for a meal and a couple of drinks. We went with our 2 sons who are 18 & 20 and were not able to drink alcohol, but there was plenty of choice for them. We had a delicious meal, but a word of warning their starters are quite big so if you only have a small appetite then maybe just have a main. I was really impressed with the food, one of the best places we ate out on our 3 week trip around California and the prices were really good too.

First and last time here; which is unfortunate because the location is super cute and always a good time on Ventura! Short and sweet review for this one, guys.... Drinks - where's the liquor mannn? Avocado Toast - strange, we didn't even finish it, and I ALWAYS finish Avocado Toast Calamari - nothing special, but we finished the rings and tentacles Tater Tots - always a win For pub food, go to Tipsy Cow instead. Tipsy also has a great $5 HH menu (review soon coming!)!! Always try for yourselves and #cheers! #befreeV #TravelEatLove #nomnom #iEatLA #foodie #skinnyfat
Update: Returned about a year later and was happy to see the staff is still super friendly, helpful, and attentive. I am also happy to report the food this time was much better. We really had a good time hanging out with some good food and drinks. Original Review: The ambiance and staff are really great. The drinks and food, however, are not as great. They try too hard to be fancy, but fall short. The braised shortrib tacos are shockingly flavorless, for example.

Whilst I can only speak on my experience here as a guest for a private event held on their 2nd floor private bar and lounge area, I can attest the service was top-notch with food that was well beyond the normal "bar food" level. We had an amazing time here with family and friends, undoubtedly due to being so comfortable and feeling quite cozy. I would 100% return again to the many other dishes we saw on their menu!

I was there in the afternoon. The bartender/day server named Braxton made me an Old Fashion and I asked to add simple (syrup) in it and it was damn near perfection! I also got The Kitchen Sink, it was pretty good, but I like my dressing and had to ask twice for more. My boyfriend got the 3-way mac n cheese with pulled short rib on top, it’s good but VERY heavy. Parking meters on the side street within walking distance of The Sherman, or parking out front if you’re lucky. I would definitely come again - even if just for the drink!
Had the short run with gouda mashed potatoes and brussel-sprouts and almost orgasmed on my seat. Ok thats strong language sorry. But it was good. This place is the kinda place I wanma go back and try the whole menu cuz I can not see how anything there could be bad. Had a Stella, ok simple but effective. My server was so sweet and attentive too, I never wanted for a thing. But ahe wasn't annoying. Great decor and ambience, I want to bring all my frienda here and I will!! Sh# i think I might have to go and try tonight!
Great spot for girls night out! They have a second floor (their "secret bar") where the atmosphere is more intimate. We ordered food and drinks And had a blast. The bartenders were very attentive and made us delicious drinks. Very warm, friendly feel here. You only need to make a reservation if your party is 8 or more people. Parking is pretty tough, street parking is available but hard to find. I found parking in the surrounding neighborhood behind Ventura Blvd.

I frequent this place a lot! They have a great selection of mixed drinks. The drink prices range from $10-$16. My fiancé and I frequent this place a lot for drinks with friends or simple dinners. The crew is fantastic! If you’re up for some great cocktails they have a speakeasy called “The attic at the back of the bar. David is the bartender there and he’s my guy! Very knowledgeable, fantastic drink menu and you can order small apps with your drinks.

We brought 60 people to this bar but instead of offering us a discount on drinks they actually charged us an extra 10% “large group surcharge”. Utterly ridiculous. We will know next time we do a bar crawl in Sherman Oaks to leave the Sherman off the list. There are plenty of other bars in the area none of which charge a surcharge

I didn’t enjoy the food. I thought the spinach and artichoke dip was very bland. Chicken sandwich was meh. The drink was okay but it didn’t taste like it had much alcohol in it. Very enjoyable restaurant/bar. Inviting space with roomy booth seating and a long bar with comfortable stools. Service was spot on. The menu is bar food, which is ... bar food. However, very tasty. Several screens to watch the sporting event and we enjoyed the variety of music played. Very warm, friendly feel here.
A hip cocktail bar located in Sherman Oaks. I came here with some locals who knew the bartender, so I was treated to a wonderful cocktail and conversation. I didn't get to try the food, but I would assume it matches the high quality of everything else. Be sure to check out their upstairs bar called The Attic. More
Really enjoyed this place. I got the rye cocktail with honeycomb. The flavor changed as the honey slowly dissolved into the whiskey; so delicious. The food was really good and our server was very nice and helpful. I also like the atmosphere. The music was great and the decor is cool. We'll definitely be back soon.

Cool modern bar with a tasty menu. The upstairs has a speakeasy feel to it which I enjoyed. I ordered a Gulden Draak beer with the chicken and waffles, everything was quality! A few friends told me this place was great so I had to check it out. I will be sure to come back next time I visit Sherman Oaks.
Cleanliness was terrible for tables outdoor. The tables were torn and chipping, dirty, sticky and dusty. The porkbelly dish had a strange taste of fig jam with jicama. The brussel sprouts and french fries are recommended. The spicy popcorn chicken is cold & soggy. Rotating beers were not availabe.
It was my first visit, I couldn't eat much because of my high blood pressure. The fries were suggested, as they had no added salt. The fries were surprisingly good with lemon and garlic and something else. I would definitely return again.
