My experience went from Best in 2017 to worst last week. My first ever keratin treatment was at smooth bar, and I had excellent results. After moving further from their location, I tried a few other salons, and it just never seemed to be as good as the initial results I had with smooth bar. Flash forward a few years- The staff was friendly, and the environment was welcoming. I showed photos of my hair from when I was most happy with it(attached) after my first treatment with smooth bar back in 2017. The staff went back and forth amongst themselves over what they would recommend and then finally settled. 2.5 hours, and $250 later I was done, and on my way. The thing with keratin, is you don't see the real results until after you wash your hair for the first time. So yeah, it looked gorgeous, and silky smooth when I left- but after washing it it was hard to tell that there had been any sort of improvement. After speaking with 2 managers, the best solution I was given was to return and have treatment done again. They said I could use the $50 coupon they gave me upon checkout. She then noted she saw a referral coupon on my account (I had referred a friend prior to washing my hair), and said I could use that as well. So- After spending $250 (excluding tip), and wasting half of my day, the expectation is that I come back in to pay for a service AGAIN when it wasn't successful to begin with, and they can't guarantee the quality of their work? What kind of business is this? I'm super disappointed in both the results and response from leadership. I came back to this salon because my first experience was so great... I really felt like these were the experts. It looks like the times have changed, and that's clearly not the case. I'm going to take the loss on this one. I will not be back, and hopefully no one has to deal with the same terrible experience I had.

I love this place. I’ve been coming here for over three years. The service is great and everyone who works here is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable of what they’re doing. Every time I come here, before my appointment, they will make sure to find out exactly what type of treatment is best for what I’m wanting. My hair is super curly, frizzy and hard to manage. I still want a little curl so I go with the Chocolate treatment. I love it! After the treatments my hair dries quicker, the frizz is gone and I end up with the beach curls I love. It’s also great because it cuts the time in half if I ever want to just straighten it. Another benefit I’ve found is my hair is healthier and growing longer. I was struggling with breakage and very dry hair before I started treatments. This was a huge plus as I wasn’t expecting it!!! I was a little apprehensive about the price at first because it’s not an inexpensive treatment, (really anywhere you go) but it is honestly worth every penny!!! I also try and look at the fact I don’t have to use as much product as I do when my hair is frizzy and difficult, so this alone saves me quite a bit! I highly highly recommend Smoothbar!

I felt confident immediately after entering The Smoothbar that I would be treated in a professional manner by competent stylists, who knew what they were doing. Everything was explained clearly, including pricing, so there were no surprises. The service performed was one of several procedures offered & was done carefully, with precision, & obvious expertise. Actually, most information was provided over the phone, prior to the service, which I definitely appreciated. These stylists know what they are doing & do it well, so the client feels confident about the service performed. This is so important, so necessary for the operation of a business; especially, considering how many scam operations & mediocre business practices exist today. I highly recommend The Smoothbar to anyone who values quality & value. Best of all, I left with a feeling of satisfaction & delight in the service provided to me. A job very well done!

If you want your thick curly hair to look marvelous like it's naturally straight and shiny, you should consider a hair smoothing service at the Smoothbar. I'm a white woman with thick curly/wavy brown hair that frizzes when ever it's humid out, turning my regular blowout looking unkempt and bohemian-like. Very frustrating. The Brazilian Blowout (BBO) tames my problematic trusses, for real in humidity, for up to three months. I, the girl with problematic hair all of my life who used to iron her hair with a clothes iron, was told by a childhood friend (after BBO): "your hair is one of your best assets"! The Smoothbar is the best place to go for hair smoothing. I can rely on them to provide me with beautiful hair in a healthy, professional environment with CONSISTENT RESULTS. They are the best. I recommend them highly.

Kristen did a PHENOMENAL job with my hair. I was freaking out that my hair would be fried from the treatment because my hair was bleached by a not-so-great hair coloring I had done a month prior. She reassured me that the treatment plan she did would really help my hair --and she was so right! My boyfriend couldn't believe my new hair so I kept the straight hair post treatment for about 4 days. When I finally rinsed it out, I was oh so relieved and happy to see my healthy, beachy, and frizz free hair straight out of the shower. No more hair dryer! My hair feels so much healthier now. I finally love my hair again and this is going to save me HOURS of styling and heat damage!

For $200 treatment + $25 maintenance shampoo + tips, I am not happy with the results. My hair is like just 25% less frizzy and last for only 4 weeks! Don’t worth all the money and even long waiting time to get appointment. They have told me the treatment will just make the hair styling easier but it didn’t. I have to heat dry it every time I wash it and even after heat dryer, it is not smooth as the photos here or the hair you will leave the salon with immediately after the tratment. It is still has some frizz and will get curly and frizzy next day, when I sleep or when I sweat. Basically my hair is smooth and wavy so I have expected more.

Beyond disappointed. I’ve been coming to the smoothbar since 2015 and have been a loyal customer. It’s difficult getting appointments as they book out over a month. I arrived to my appointment today only to discover it had been cancelled because I didn’t call to confirm. I’ve never had to call in the past as they typically sent “reminder” calls, not threats of canceling your appointment. I had to be rescheduled another month out. Having my hair done isn’t for fun. I need these treatments and to have my time and business disrespected and disregarded is extremely upsetting. The owner should treat their customers better! -5 stars if I could.

Second keratin treatment, first time was great but this second one clearly didn’t even work. The first time I went in I was told they were having problems with their Brazilian blowout, so I decided to go for a different treatment. Second time I went in they didn’t mention anything about the problem with the Brazilian blowout so I went ahead and got it done. Big mistake. After I rinsed my hair that same day, it was still frizzy. It’s now less than 2 weeks after my appointment and my curls are the same as they used to be. Waste of money. Never coming back!! Horrible customer service too.

Absolutely in love with The Smooth Bar! Was a little intimidated at first because this was my first blow out- I had so many questions. The entire team was SO helpful and very patient with me! Took the time to make sure I understood the process/what I should expect with my hair/pricing/and after care! I felt very safe and very comfortable! The keep the shop very clean at all times and everyone was hilarious can not WAIT to come back for my next treatment! My hair has never look and felt so good! It's so soft and shiny! My hair is normally a curly messy puff ball. I got the Brazilian renewal and it has absolutely made my hair 1000% times more manageable. I don't have a picture of the natural curl, but the first photo is of my hair blow dried, then straightened, then in a French braid. The second photo is after I got the treatment done and just let it air dry! I always hate when people show an after photo from right after the salon and not the first wash, since the product is straightened into your hair, of course it's going to look stick straight when you leave. Love love love the outcome!

This place is ok , just not satisfied with the products they use . I got a GK treatment about a month and a half ago and honestly I only saw a difference the first 2 weeks but not completely happy that my hair keeps on feeling and looking so oily and I still have to straighten my hair everyday which defeats the purpose of me even getting the treatment, this treatment was supposed to last 3 months, waste of $200 dollars On the other hand the staff is really nice and friendly.

Best keratin/Brazilian blowout service I've ever gotten. I am a regular here. I've been to other places for this, for the past decade, and Smoothbar is best. This is because they customize your service to what you want, it lasts long, it's a friendly/nice atmosphere, and it's an enjoyable experience (even if you have to sit for a few hours getting it done!). I visited Smoothbar for a Brazilian blowout two times. Both of which were easy to book online and get appointment times. Everyone was professional and friendly. Followed up service with a phone call to see how I liked the treatment and if I had any questions. They offer a $50 off service if you book within the recommended period, which is a nice incentive to go back. Would definitely recommend this small business to anyone.

Having crazy curls that do not behave, I need a good smoothing treatment. I have been going to Smoothbar for several years and have never been disappointed. They have many options to choose from and the stylists can advise you which would work best for you. LeeAnne is my stylist. Not only does she do a fantastic job but she is a really nice person and fun to chat with if you feel like talking. I highly recommend!

The Smoothbar has taken care of my hair for many years and I love the extreme renewal treatment. My hair is super shiny, soft and manageable for months and so easy to take care of! I've been getting the Brazilian Blowout from here for years and I will keep going back! Depending on how I care for my treatment, I've had them last anywhere from 6-10 weeks frizz-free. I have long, thick, coarse hair and I love the results every time! I've had a number of different stylists and each has been diligent in making sure I'm getting the right treatment and care plan for my hair.

I have curly frizzy hair and their treatment allows me to have manageable soft hair that I can feel confident about. Their stylists are amazing and kind. Can not say enough good things!

I got my hair treated with a Brazilian blowout which is good if you want your hair to dry nice naturally! My hairstylist also recommended how to make your hair treatment last by using some of their in salon products. I will be coming back in 10 weeks to keep it up to date!
