Some students can barely speak 2 words of English but end up having high grades.why? Because they have access to additional notes, slides, projects, assignments, and previous exams that australian/international students from other countries dont. The university knows about this but decides not to do anything about it because international students are the main source of income for the uni. Teachers are not allowed to fail many students due to political relations with this country (according to rumors). Last but not least, the attached pic is a sample of the tables you would use for your exam (the note book is A4 sized; the table is smaller than the exam paper) and when i complain about this to the university they tell me that my complaint is a "feedback" and they're not necessarily going to respond. Long story short, i do not recommend this university at all. I believe some other universities would treat you fairly based on your performance and not on your tuition fees.

THE WORST UNIVERSITY I HAVE EVERY BEEN TO!!!!! 1)TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE: apart from the ranking and recognition - really worth your money? 2) INCREDIBLY SLOW AND TERRIBLE SERVICE - they posted my first student card but I never received it, have to complain via a call very badly to get my card. IT TOOK ME FOUR MONTHS TO GET MY FIRST STUDENT CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO WAIT FOR HOURS AND HOURS TO BE ANSWERED!!!!! AND YOU'D BETTER BE CRYING OR WITH AN EXTREME EMOTION TO GET YOUR PROBLEM SOLVED. 3) VERY VERY BUREAUCRATIC - why do you create so many extra steps that take so long and still not working well???! Because you have too much employees and insufficient work for them to do? Many times the website will just guides you from one page to another, it provides no answer to your questions, which forces you to call. TBH, I REGRET MY DECISION TO ACCEPT THEIR OFFER IN MY VERY FIRST SEMESTER, BUT FORTUNATELY, I'M GRADUATING SO I NO LONGER NEED TO SUFFER. LOL

One of the slowest and most inefficient admin team I’ve seen thus far. It took me 3 months to get my credit offer assessed. Now that the credit offer is released, there were some units that I’m hoping to receive and I simply didn’t get it (but I will be appealing). This requires a change of my plan in my degree and I’m trying to find an academic advisor. Unfortunately, even almost after a month, I get no reply for requesting an academic advisor. It’s my first semester in this university after transferring from another university. Everyone started studying in Week 1 and attending lectures and tutorials, but I’m still here dealing with this administrative issues. This has unfortunately caused too much distress to me after having to wait for such a long time. I’m human after all and honestly I’m burned out. Usyd, please do something. No doubt it has such as high quality of education but with such terrible administration of handling student issues.

As someone who's about to finish here (woohoo!), save your time and money and study somewhere else. With all that money, they must buy their outstanding reviews but leave nothing for their students and staff facilities, services and food options are laughable compared to other unis, shout out to Ralph's Cafe for being the only good option and upside is Fisher Library is 24/7 but other than that, it's pretty bad despite its reputation and prestige. Staff here are either amazing or absolutely useless and greedy, there's no in between really. The wait time for help from admin is horrendous, be prepared to wait for hours sometimes. If you want to study health, explore other options as this should really be the last resort because the interest of students is a shockingly low priority. Way to go usyd!

The university's admin for prospective students is a complete disaster. Pre-requisites for the degree I was interested in were neither stated on their website, university conventions nor the student help centre. It was only until rejection that they sent a personal email informing me of that one specific pre-requisite which was omitted on all public resources. They also misplaced my application to the wrong department twice, which in turn delayed my enrolment. The only thing they're capable of doing without fail is to fail at efficient administrative work. And yet the students are to bear the brunt of it. This whole application process is a complete travesty all thanks to their unbothered lack of organisation, accessibility and transparency. Yet another classic money-sucking institution.

I gave the five star because of a single staff member. In the height of Covid and lock downs, I was in a very bad place. I lost hope and will to leave. I had my thesis with a Young supervisor. For some reason he noticed my dark mood and kept talking with me. As soon as I told him my thoughts…. He made time to talk with me every day. It was a very bad situation I was really depressed disconnected from home away. He talked with during the lockdown. About his own fight with depression. He got covid but still manage to find the time to talk with me. He kept me busy during those bad days.. he saved my life. Thank you MK (if u ever read this, this is BOHAN) from bottom of my heart. You are the reason I am still here and write this review after three years.

USYD SONNET (on the graduation of RGB) Where lies the sacred heart of this great quest? To make of novice graduate, then sage? To summit learning’s towering Everest, Conquered, word by word and page by page. Is it the guarded gate, (‘tis few who pass) Or gothic hall with ivyed portico The bannered motto, ‘neath the coat of arms “Sidere mens eadem mutato” Or lurks it where the measured volumes lay To slumber in the archive’s swollen girth Til neophyte Orions stalk their prey And claim their prize - or fall to meet the earth? This place as soil to sapling, seed and tree; Thus venture forth to know and grow and be.

Sydney Uni - awesome! Excellent education ✔️ Beautiful surrounds with city views ✔️ Supportive community ✔️ Lots of social clubs ✔️ I can personally endorse the amazing education and recognised degrees both our sons got. But more important as a parent the good feeling, respect and friendships made there too. We were there last night at the Grass Tennis Clubs Annual Ball- amazing. We live near the uni and know a lot about it. Feel free to follow me on instagram and send me a message. Love your local guide - M❤️

A beautiful location for higher education. Looks very much like Cambridge university (or Hogwarts), with some modern buildings thrown in for good measure. A huge campus that is worth exploring. Start from the quad, and work your way out. The law building and library look like they are from the space age. The level of teaching is very high. Very much enjoying my time as a PhD researcher here. Plenty of food outlets. At the moment Mint Cafe is winning. Avoid the gym cafe. Overpriced and 1980's menu.

  • Sean Ryder

We played squash. There is 3 squash courts. The availability is good and prices are reasonable. I'm not a student of Sydney University so don't worry it's open to the public. We paid $35 for an hour and $10 for 2 rackets. Buy a ball for $5. There is also basketball, indoor furball, volleyball, swimming pool, tennis courts, badminton, martial arts (with Samari swords), gym etc. So plenty to choose from. 2 hour free street parking but limited and there was also 4 hour paid parking.

  • Siti Nuraeni

I wish become student here. Awesome place, really huge, look like castle, it’s open for public to visit, but not coming inside of building, unlucky me, because I really want to know the inside of this building. Maybe if someday I become student here, I have to spare lot of time before class is start, because really huge, need time to go inside haha can you imagine if you late and you have to run away from parking to the classroom? Tired absolutely. Btw I love this uni

  • akiller

Although hailed as some of the best university in New South Wales, the reality of this University comes in with the crowd. It is known for its snobby crowds and people who will not respect you unless you have went to a selective school or private school. Majority of the people who go there are rich private schoolers that will harshly judge you unless you live in a privileged or 'rich' area. Would not recommend for people who are less well off.

  • bismita kc

this university is only good for its reputation, their syllabus is messed up and the structure was terrible not the best. If you want a great education and actually learn something, you should go find another university because this does not help with your studies. They spend all their money on the labs, which they don't even let students in to work, they only have a good reputation but don't even help their students learn.

  • Alex Wong

Worth for a visit if you do not have much things to do in Sydney, if I’m back to the schooling days, I might consider to study here as the environment is great with historical structures giving me a feeling of a real student life abroad. This university allows visitors to walk around freely and you can walk around the university compound, it is not huge but just nice for a traveller to experience and feel the university.

  • Michel Lam

Beautiful campus. A place full of old historical buildings. Even if you are not a student, it is a good place for a walk. Just enjoy the open space. I didn't pay much attention to the beautiful side of this place while studying here. Used to think I wanna to grab my degree and get out asap. These days I regret not observing and appreciating this place while studying here. A popular place for photos.

  • Mark Butler

Terrible treatment of students and staff. Admin is very disorganised and treat students with disdain. Only well ranked because of research but research quality does not translate to teaching quality. Elitist and hypocritical at every level including the student's who often masquarede as lefties acting like they care about social justice but actually exclude and alienate more people than they help.

  • Sunil J

Every University has its pros and cons. uSyd has a gorgeous campus, great libraries, a great social environment. But the engineering faculty isn't great, many engineering courses are overly convoluted, stressful, and facilities can be verymuch sub-par. Whilst I believe you make what you want out of any University you attend, uSyd's engineering programmes are really not conducive for learning.

Trust me this is the best place in the world to study. Australia is the hub of study, environment is the best. but but.. this uni is quite expensive and requires a lot of effort in order to maintain your studies. if you are good at studies, which i was not. this is the place for your,, make sure u check the fees before :)

  • Amogh VS (Ej Amoj)

Attended the open day for law. Poor organisation and although we lined up for a presentation and waited for an hour plus, they let people just getting in and squeezed us in in the end. Then they lectured us about being respectful and quite while we watched pushers and new arrivals go on. Heavily crowded.

  • Bharath chandrA

A beautiful and a pleasant place. Once in a life time opportunity for the guys who are studying there. Though the campus seems old, imagining the plan they had developed in those days to bring the output that we are seeing today is really appreciable. The architecture of the buildings is just marvellous.

  • Jan Mitchell (Pinke Faerie)

Very historical building called the Quadrangle and we visited when it was holidays, so it was not that crowded. From the green lawns to the historical buildings, there are many photo spots. We enjoyed our quick visit here and moved on to Victoria Park which was a short walk away

  • Robert Mclean

Probably Australia's best (or in top 3) university and campus. Very high standard of instruction and strong calibre of student. Interesting and eclectic architecture, with the Quadrangle and its purple-bloomed trees a particular highlight (and popular wedding photography venue).

Witnessed the beautiful buildings while on a Microbiology conference at UNSW Sydney. Its Victorian-Gothic architecture is difficult to describe and pen down. Was one of the finest places I had the good fortune to visit.

Great place open to public. The building is beautiful and you can walk across halls and student library and see how the student life is here. Have pools and other courts that you can use after paying.
