This place is wonderful! A nice pit stop to rest as you’re going through the museum. We had coffee and cakes. I recommend the carrot cake it was amazing! Their black coffee was nice too. I just thought the prices were a little too exaggerated for the portions.. it’s also hard to find a table on a weekend as it gets so busy! More

Beautiful, ornate, verging on the opulent. A real feast for the eyes. No other place like this. I have been overawed by this area on every visit over years. My only quibble is that while visually it is a delight the acoustics mean that its a very noisy environment when full of customers but its a real treat to visit. More

The cafe was bustling with people. We got our cake & Coffee., only to find it was served in paper cups. To be fair, I went back to another counter and was given porcelain mugs. The members cafe was too busy to go to, so we chose the ground floor cafe instead. Warning. It is quite expensive in here. More

Not to be missed is the V&A stunning cafe with frescoes, stained windows and great food options. Had tasty scone with clotted cream & jam & cappuccino - can't get better when surrounded by such ornate beauty. Great way to rest your feet after browsing the amazing collections here. More

Absolutely stunning cafe, food is a little on the expensive but a good quality and the setting is worth the extra. One let down are some of the staff, bit hit and miss and one staff member on plate clearing duty was smashing plates like a guest at a Greek wedding. Worth a visit. More

My wife’s niece brought my wife, our younger daughter and I here for an afternoon tea on Friday, Nov 11, 2022. While the ambience was distinctly different, there weren’t any paradox of choices on food and drinks. I made use of the very friendly free WiFi to write this review.

This place has definitely one of the most beautiful atmospheres (very loud) and I didn’t like the food. There is no service which is not bad. But I ate my mushroom soup because I was really hungry. The salat mix was okey but I feel like the pasty is a better option. More

I haven't tried all the scones in London but at least among the places I've been to, The V&A cafe serves the best scone. Really decent atmosphere inside. It's quite packed on the weekends afternoon so recommend you visit early on the weekdays and enjoy cream tea. More

A great selection of savoury and sweet, I definitely recommend stopping here for a bite if you're visiting the museum! I would recommend choosing the hot food option that's made fresh, some of the other food choices have been left on the display and it shows. More

Enjoying the wonderful art on display, and the piano accompaniment in the dining room. The decor needs to be seen, the chandeliers are fantastic! I settled in for afternoon tea and cake and was not disappointed. If you like carrot cake I can recommend theirs. More

“Three new refreshment rooms – the Gamble, Poynter and Morris Room – were opened in 1868, although work continued on their decorations for many years.” One of the most stunning cafe in London that I have been visited. Coffee and carrot cake

The cafe has several serving 'kiosks' but each of them selling different things; e.g. hot food, sandwiches, tea/coffee or snacks. Without wandering around the whole area it's impossible to see what's on offer and there is minimal signage.

Self service with different counters for hot drinks and food. Delicious salads are served as an accompaniment to various options such as wraps, crab tart, etc usually with 2 combination salads from a choice of 4. Everything looks healthy,

We had the pleasure of dining at lunchtime on Sunday at the world's oldest museum cafe. What a delight! The food was superb, fresh, healthy, tasty and freshly prepared. Fabio, the maitre de, was professional and efficient and supprtive of

Lovely place for afternoon tea. The scones of the V&A cafe are the best I’ve ever had. They are a must to try if going to the museum. You may be able to experience a live piano performance as there is one in the middle of the tea room More

A very nice place to go for tea and coffee, including light lunches. The interior of this cafe is stunning, especially the main hall, seating is comfortable, prices are reasonable, coffee is very good, and staff are friendly. Very clean

  • Michelle Barnes

A stunning main dining room with stained glass windows and mosaics along with a good selection of sweet and savory items in my favorite museum. The food is a little pricey but since museum entry is free, I still think it's worth it. I

Such a beautiful location for a cafe, there really is nothing like sitting in that beautiful room! However I found the chocolate muffin to be incredibly dry, and I wouldn’t have it again. Would probably just stick to the tea More

Nice spot in the museum for a quick coffee. It was extremely busy and slow on weekend, waited around 15 minutes to reach to cashier so be prepared. Also, finding a table was so difficult.

I decided that @vamuseum would be the museum of this London trip instead of the other big and famous ones. Saw a few good reviews of their cafe and it was indeed very beautiful!

  • Sirpa West

Nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee/ tea and one of their good pastries. There's no table service though, you have to stand in a que to buy what you want to eat and drink. More

Lovely ambience, in terms of the place. Prices are what, you would expect for the area. Sandwich was a bit mismatched in flavour and the choices of salads to go with

  • Sharon Moxon

Great coffee in superb surroundings but the service was so s l o w. They were not at all organised and this was frustrating, many mutterings in the queue! More

  • Natalie Boisset

Interiors are a delight, but can’t say the same about the menu. Scones are dry, and the coffee adheres to the unspoken awful museum café standard More

  • Ashish Bijwe

A wonderful cafe located inside V&A museum. The cakes are not sweet and you will definitely feel relaxed after a cup of tea or wine. More

  • Alowe

Loved the food choices . Mostly cold food which Is usually the case in UK. The salad options were yummy ! Cash and card accepted More

Nice atmosphere ruined by extremely poor quality of coffee and barista skills. Both of our ice coffees had coffee grounds More

  • Akshara Alok

It is a really pretty cafe. If you go during peak season, you might have to stand in a long queue to grab a table.
