Will not be going back. Very poor service for a business that has been operating for many years! Yes it was a Saturday and yes it was busy but there has to be a better system to check the cars in. I pulled up in the right lane and waited behind 3 cars....the guy in the check in area ...one by one from left and right lanes booked in cars then for some reason he stopped taking cars from the right lane and booked in 2 other cars from left lane who came 5 min and 10 min (one was a luxury sports car...) after I arrived. I got out of my car to complain and he said, ‘I will book you in next. So I got in my car and reversed out as he had no intention of booking me next as there was another car in front of me that had already been booked in and he continued to book in the guy in the luxury car...whose driver also new his car was not the next to be booked in).I got back in my car and after reversing out and parking across the road I got out and went to speak to the owner of the car wash and he said, ‘we are busy and I will speak to the guy checking in’ (no sorry about that or offer of a free or discounted car wash or free coffee or please go back in the line and we will prioritise your car wash). Even though I have to drive further I am only going to take my cars to Ultimate Car wash on Magill Rd ...where I have been once before ...where the service is 100% better and a fair system of booking cars in...namely one lane)

I don’t normally write reviews or consider myself as one of those people that have time to nit pick on things but here I am. I have been going to the wash for the past year and at the start had some really great washes. I purchased a brand new Toyota Hilux and I asked them to be very careful of my new paint work. When the car was completed I drove it into the sun light and saw swirl marks all over my paint. I Immediately took it back and the manager/owner said “swirl makes happened naturally over time” even though I had specifically told him the car was brand new and did not have a single imperfection on it. After a conversation he agreed to polishing the paint to remove the swirls which fixed some but not all of them. After a few months I decided to give them another go considering it was one bad experience and the rest I have had were pretty good. I paid $265 as it’s a trade car and the wheels had not been cleaned, the foot rests and peddles still had mud on them, the dash still dusty. The paint work still had dirt/road tar on it and had not been dried properly. I noticed as well now the car has swirl marks all over it again and I will not be making a return back. I am strongly disappointed and know that my paintwork ruined my cars paintwork and have been ripped off $265. I don’t even trust them to fix the swirl marks and will have to take it to a professional.

I've been a faithful customer since 2015. Always been very happy with service and attitude of all the boys and girls who work at The Wash. I have never had an issue paying although the charges are quite high, but I feel it's a reflection of the effort and the end product. However, on the 30th Dec, 2021 at 1.45pm, I was taken aback by the rudeness of the staff who took the order and gave me the beeper. I opted for #3 ($99) because I had just returned from a trip and the car had some bugs and really needed a good clean. She told me she was charging me an extra $10 because the grille had " a lot of bugs". I said fair enough but I thought the $99 was to take that into account. She said it had a lot more bugs then the standard. I said what was the standard and she said it was up to her to define that and that she could charge me an extra $50 if she felt it was warranted. Needless to say that I was quite shocked by this interaction because she was rude and curt. I didnt say anything further, took the beeper and left my keys in the car. I was fuming and would have preferred to speak with the Manager but I didn't see either of the 2 guys, so decided to write this so that appropriate Customer Service training can be given to your frontliners.

I have been a customer for almost 10 years with three cars and most of my experiences have been good until today (15/08/21). When I arrived the attendant asked me what I want and I had decided to get the Club 2 service (I have never had this service but thought it would save me some money) and he said ok. I paid the young lady at the bar and also ordered a couple of coffee's and a cake. Later I very politely asked the young lady how the Club 2 service worked. She replied "I can't just get the Club 2 service and I'm only going to get a level 3 clean". I questioned her why is this so. I got a confused answer why she seemed more interested in everything else but me. By the end I think I understood why, but the way I was treated was disgusting. I understand that retail can be hard and that some customers can be hard to deal with but I was happy and polite the whole time. I have never been spoken to so poorly by someone that is proving a service that I am paying for. She made me feel like a worthless second grade fool. In the future I will be spending my money elsewhere, with someone that shows and speaks to me with some respect. Our time together is over, very disappointed.

My husband and I have been coming to The Wash Unley for many years for both our cars. The service started off great but has been progressively getting worse. We have decided to try again one last time this coming weekend and if things improve we will reconsider. Firstly, the length of time it takes to get our cars washed is ridiculous. The last wash took almost 2 hours. There was no warning of how long the wash would take or any apology given. When I queried it with a staff member he was extremely unhelpful and unapologetic. Secondly, the girl who takes your car wash order seems to rub people up the wrong way. She is pushy and acts superior to customers. Thirdly, what appears to be the Manager of the place is curious. He is often at the business but never acknowledges customers or makes them feel welcome. If I were the Manager I would great people or say hello - isn't that just common courtesy. This place has potential but at the moment there are a lot of disgruntled customers who sit in the cafe and exchange notes on the poor service.

VERY POOR SERVICE I paid $85 for the wash on on inspecting my car on arrival at home I found a number of orange marks on the car that not been removed during the wash, I tried to remove one of these marks and it came off with a light rub. I also found that the tyre blackening liquid had been placed on so thick that it had splattered all along the side of the car. I returned to The Wash and was told by the manager that the marks on the car were tree gum and were too hard to remove. He rubbed one of the marks with a cloth and it came off. He explained that the other marks could not be removed unless I had the car detailed. He instructed a worker to wipe the tyre black splashes from the side of the car. I was offered a free upgrade on my next visit. Another manager explained that the tyre black product was a "problem". I drove home from The Wash very unsatisfied with the experience. I examined my car again and found that more of the tyre black had splashed down the side of my car. The Wash is not a place that I would recommend.

3 years ago they used a chemical that ruined my centre console. They never fixed it as their paint guy didn't show up to 3 arranged times. Instead I got a free wash and had to be happy with that. After not giving them my business for 3 years i returned. They scratched my car and when i noticed the scratch they pulled out a series of photos. I looked at the time stamp of the photo and it was in another time zone so i couldnt see if the photo was taken before or after it had been washed. The car was clean in the photo and the paint was hanging off, which it wouldnt be if it had just been pressure washed. I got told "we dont want your business anyway" and the owner accused me of "claiming scratches for free stuff".. Im left powerless. Its not enough damage to sue.. NEVER USE THESE GUYS!!!

Don't bother if you value your time. I went in and got a number 3 inside and out clean. Far from my first time there and this was not busy. $100 bucks and nearly 2 hours later I finally managed to leave. I had my young son with me and I raised that we had been waiting for a very long time and asked ( very politely) how much longer they were expecting this would take. I also highlighted that 3 other cars that arrived after us had been done already. I was told they are short staffed due to covid ( clearly sweeping through car washers in SA) and they'd get to my car. Things got moving shortly after, but there was no apology, no acknowledgement that this may not be their usual a standard, etc.. extemely disappointing and their recent reviews would indicate this may be their new standard.

Revised my previous long term 5 star to a 1 star review. I've been a Wash Club member for over 5 years, with two subscribed vehicles. It started off great, but over time time I found that 3 things happened: 1. Wait times have increased 2. Quality of the washes has reduced 3. Costs have gone up significantly (especially for existing long term members) My sentiments are reflected by others in the last 3 months of Google reviews for The Wash: the negative ones outnumber the positive ones. No longer I feel like spending unnecessary time and money on an average wash. I will do better hiring a detailer to regularly visit my house or work. Long term member gave up today.

I have been using The Wash for years. Never had a bad wash. I don't understand the other negative reviews unless they are from competing car wash places and trying to bag the opposition. I had a bumper scratched on my car, and the manager immediately brought it to my attention and offered repairs at a well know crash repair. I haven't taken him up on it yet because it was so minor. I love going to The Wash. I get to have a coffee, cake, read the paper and relax while somebody else does all the work on my car. I have absolutely no complaints. I would also suggest that if you have a complaint, go straight to management and it will be remedied.

These guys are only interested in quantity and $'s, not quality. I have been here twice but never again. The pre-wash and wash stages are a joke. Bugs and road grime are not removed. Less than 50% of the car surface is washed with sponges. The detailing stage is poor. And the bigger the car the worse it gets; SUV's beware. The other bad reviews posted would all be accurate. When these problems are raised with the manager he is defensive and dismissive. These guys ask a premium price for their service and should be delivering a 'premium service'. They don't. I recommend you go elsewhere.

Clean cars only please! We actually use our 4wd as a 4wd and today i was turned away from the wash for refusing to accept a 50% surcharge (so $150 all up) because my car had some mud on the doors and needed a good vacuum, making it a ‘difficult and time consuming job’, ‘not worth their while.’ Apparently their prices no longer apply if your car is visibly dirty (when else would you want your car cleaned?). Took it home and did it myself in less than half an hour, 24 weeks pregnant. Shame because i have been here before for the same job without any hassle. New look new attitude?

I came to get my car's windows cleaned. I'd praised the staff for their apparently diligent work - only to discover - (once out in the sun), that the only window cleaned has been my windscreen (perfect) but no other windows as well as leaving a big, careless smear on half my rear window. Side windows were left untouched. Had me wondering whether staff had been trained to work to a time factor; (eg stop after X minutes & get onto the next car in line). (How do I post a photo?) (Update..) Manager Matt and competent crew apologised and did a great free windows job.

Poor value after the recent renovations. What once was an effective and focused operation has forgotten that they are foremost a car wash. New pricing structure has less choice & has jumped +20% in the month since my last visit. And the surcharge for larger vehicles has doubled in price. All that and there is less included (less detail on the service received and no free coffee any more). Will the car be any cleaner? No. The new Cafe is nice enough but is not at all why people come here. They should not expect customers to pay for the.businesses over-capitalisation.

I've a dual cab ute and been using this business for last year and they provided a good service, a bit pricey including the large vehicle fee, but they did a decent job cleaning. After the reno price went up and service went down. I took my car for a clean, asked for number 2 which costs 79$ now for a 4wd and the lady working there refused to do it if I didn't go for the number 5 which costs 159$ plus a surcharge cause my vehicle was "too dirty" apparently.... guess I should have washed it before taking it there. Won't be going back

It's quite clear from the website that there is a service on offer to clean interior car carpets, seats, and dashboards. The place is actually called the 'Hand Car Wash Cafe'. However when I turned up the chap took a look at my admittedly very dirty car and said they don't do interior cleaning or hand cleaning, except through a wash mechanism. This is my old car that a friend recently dropped off and I'm cleaning before another friend drives it. I strongly suspect the car wash chap didn't want to clean the car at any cost.

I just roll up here without a booking which is super convenient. They are quick but often not that thorough. I paid an extra $60, so $200 for a inside out & wax and the inside had gunk left all in the door handles. I had already had to take it back because the outside had multiple sticky marks that hadn't been removed. That's why I paid the extra for the wax....I was told they could then spend the time removing the sticky tape residue the crash repairer left. So just did internal stuff they missed myself.

Came here once after moving into the area. Saw the prices online and when I drove in. The girl then said it will be extra because the rims are dirty. (Well yeah obviously.) Then proceeded to give no direction on where to wait or how to pay. No customer service skills. After I got the car back it had oil all over the drivers floor mat which ruined a few pairs of shoes. Tried scrubbing the mats but was still a problem so had to replace them. Worst car wash I have ever experienced. Moronic staff.

Took our car there. Wasn’t that dirty just a normal car that hasn’t had a clean for a little while. Said they would charge us $300 because there was some bugs on the front!!!!!!! We then said see ya….. he then said $200! What one earth is the price list for??? We weren’t there to barter. What a rip off! So weird that you have to have a clean car to begin with . We have been there in the past and never had this problem. Wont be back again. We went somewhere more professional

I've had my classic Kombi ute cleaned here many times in the past, normally for car shows and the like. This morning I arrived to have it cleaned and was turned away. Apparently the new owners think that cleaning my Kombi is a bad look for their business. I found it a little amusing that a car wash would think they have a "look". Anyways, I found one not far away that where happy to give it a shine and polish. Bonus that they did it for almost half the price. Catcha

I presented my small hatch back for a detailed clean inside. Nothing off the menu suited so I was quoted $280. After 3hrs, I received the car with dirt still in the centre console, instrument cluster not cleaned at all, dirt still in door cup holders, and more. The carpets were great, but no attention to detail was applied to the rest. They’re good at the simple stuff, but anything needing a bit of effort and attention seems too much. Certainly not a $280 clean.

Booked car in for a wash and interior shampoo. Arrived on the day to no acknowledgement of booking, was seemingly placed in an adhoc priority list and told it would be 4 hours and were invited to wait in the cafe??? We arrived after 4.5 hours to an incomplete job and after some insistance we were finally able to collect our car after 5 hours. Seats were still damn. Exterior clean incomplete and streaky. $200 I would never spend again. Horrible experience. Avoid.

1. Expensive for anything more than basics. 2. Paid an extra $20 to have one salt water stained seat shampoo cleaned and they broke the seat belt warning alarm. 3. Water damaged paperwork in car. 4. Scattered belongings all over the place including putting a toxic under seat air freshener into a coffee holder. While the concept has merit it needs to be more than just an assembly line to pump your car through as quickly as possible for a minimalist effort.

Well, I have been long time client. Today I had impolitely been requested my phone number. I said I rather no. The reception girl excuse was : this is been A change in the policies and it’s a must. But if I don’t, if something happened with the car or something is missing, “the wash” as a company delivering a device won’t respond. Hard statement for a service I paid. Expensive, but they clean well. But....when you come in at 2.30 pm on a weekday and it STILL takes nearly 2 hours to get a basic wash and vacuum, they need to revisit practices and really consider customer comfort (chairs are hard or cement benches, music is loud and frequently contrasts with music in car area and large TV used to show sports but now repeats same handful of ads). For the money, customer care is lacking.

They do a great job cleaning thoroughly, even in the basic option. But my car has a matted painting and they did not clean the car properly: they used high pressure too close and didn't wash the car properly, having to clean it deeply later on . I didn't have time to let them know about it after they finished my car but I hope they can read this comment. Cafe is great for waiting and monthly fee seems very fair to me.

Completely unacceptable The badges of my Holden have been bent because of hard rubbing with their towels. Also, the indicator plastic has been bent for the same reason. On the way home, a cop pulled me over and gave me a defect notice. Never again will I take my car down here, I'm telling all my friends too. It's wrong to damage other people's cars, and then tell them that it is not their responsibility.

I used the unley wash multiple times a few years ago and found it very good as well as good value. I returned recently and was asked if I would like the leather treatment as well which was an extra $50 - $55. That service was not performed I could clearly see that from where I sat. I will not return and do not recommend anything more than a basic wash and vac. $155- for what was done is NOT acceptable.

I’ve had a tier 2 membership for roughly 6 months which includes unlimited exterior and a monthly interior clean. The team are great, if they aren’t happy with the wash they will re run it through the hand wash station to get your car sparkly. Sometimes the interior cleaners miss spots, but are always happy to rectify if you return it. I will continue to have my membership between Malvern and Glenelg

This has been three times that I took my car for wash and paid $59.96 for Wash Werx clean and on all three times the car wasn’t properly cleaned. There was dust and grime in the boot and in the central console. Each time I complained they told me to let the person taking my car know while giving the car. When I tell the person in the beginning they just nod and assure me. Really feel cheated.

Had car washed there today with Vax & Wax package for $39.95 and there team did an excellent job. Car looked liked it was driven off a showroom. There were a few tiny water marks left behind but then again there will always be minor imperfections. The team went beyond what was required and I appreciate there service. I am now considering buying there monthly unlimited car wash package.

Came in for the deep clean wash. (Advertised at 90 or 99) got told my car was 'extra dirty' and I would have to pay 150. Went home and gave the floor mats a shake out. Went back and the girl who takes the orders smirked at me and said it would be 180$ now. Asked why it went up when I came back cleaner and got told its because I haven't washed my car years..... Pretty poor

Use to be a quality car wash but has gone down hill since they renovated it, I paid $190 to get my 2 door ute cleaned to what they say is showroom condition and is was a very average clean, smeared windows, trims and dash were just wiped over with a rag and paint work was 80% cleaned. Better off going to the OTR drive through for $15. VERY disappointed.

Arrogant, rude staff at the bar and incompetent staff on the forecourt. I was told explicitly I would be charged one price when I handed the car in, only to end up being asked to pay a lot more. When I asked for an explanation all I got was a rude response from the bar staff and evasion from the forecourt staff. Luxury indeed... Best avoided altogether.

Have only been here once, but would definitely return. Arrived to a queue stretching on to the street & thought I'd be there for hours, but left within 40 min. After a months worth of dust and spattered bugs in the country, the end result was basically that of a brand new car - inside and out. Cleaned both inside the ute tub and canopy. $65 well spent.

It was a busy Saturday morning at The Wash when I visited, which didn’t hinder their superior level of customer service. I purchased a secondhand car and it needed a LOT of interior cleaning, the team did an amazing job and I will be back! Being able to browse the local shops while I waited and enjoy a coffee at their cafe was an added bonus.

Not always perfect but a cut above the rest! They recently raised their prices and the level of clean is almost perfect but today they missed a few spots which is annoying but still a much better service than other places. It’s hard to trust places when your car is an extension of your hard work, but this is still the place I trust the most.

So overpriced for the services, takes forever, and they don’t even do a thorough job. They never reply to emails, over heard that the staff get under paid and havent been paid their overtime pay in 4 weeks, which also gets paid in cash at normal rate. They also add hidden fees, and the owner was being rude to his staff infront of me.

Basic wash for a Mazda 3 costs $90 but regardless upgraded to $110 for leather conditioner and interior protectant. Interior had clearly not been done and wiped over with a dry cloth at best. Exterior was also very average. Wasn’t the first bad experience I’d had here but thought I’d give it another go, never again, not recommended.

I am disappointed they used to be perfect but to pay $119 for a clean they didn’tdo the lower tool boxes nor the tray rope rails the outside of tray behind cab but out side they missed I grabbed a rag and cleaned it my self they never lowered the windows to clean the outside edges hand rails in cab still dirty I won’t be back

Extremely disappointed. We paid $ 400 for deep cleaning and wax they left all the 4 doors unclean saying it’s not part of the cleaning. The car wasn’t even washed properly when we asked them why it’s not clean they said because it’s waxed. They didn’t clean under the boot. That’s not the service one would expect for $ 400.

I have used this business for years.Always do a good job EXCEPT on the last clean. I noticed my fuel filler flap open it would not close. I asked them about it but no-one knew anything. Despite repeated calls to them I have had no response. It cost me $67.00 to repair the filler flap. I won't be going back.

Once again, it could have been a better job. Honestly, they are too slow and need more experience. I paid $170 for a complete clean, and the lady assured me it would be an exceptional result. All seats inside were still dirty and so forth. This is disappointing for this price tag - and not the first time.

The worst detail I've ever had, the car had hardly been touched inside, marks and debris still everywhere, if I wasn't in a rush I would have gone back to complain a complete waste of $80.00. Be warned they also use a mechanical automatic wash to do the initial wash. If you value your car go elsewhere.

I’ve been coming to the wash for years now and have been a wash club member for just over a year. The Service from the team has always been exemplary. The coffee and snacks are always tasty. The level of detail and care by the wash team for my car is always top level and I am fastidious about my car.

2nd time I've been and got an ok service but on both occasions asked and paid for a wash and wax polish and they handed the vehicle over having not polished the roof, it was done after I complained but having inspected their work after, wheels and wheel arches and side steps were still dirty

If you are like me and always want a clean car become a member, it truly is the best value this way. I visit at least once, sometimes twice a week, my dad also uses the service at Glenelg. The staff are professional and friendly and the coffee is great to. Bravo "The Wash" Team. Tania

I used the car wash today to wash my boss's car and was very impressed at the results. The staff acted in a professional manner and worked effectively as a team and I am more than happy with the service. It was nice to sit in the lovely cafe and enjoy a drink while watching.

I’ve come to this car wash a number of times and I’ve always been very impressed with the service. The car is cleaned thoroughly and quite quickly (especially considering how busy they always seem to be). Also, the cafe does a decent coffee and has some good snacks on offer.

Not cheap!!!!! But. My car looks as good as it did coming off the showroom floor. Probably why the was was called the showroom I guess? For all the work they did they were relatively quick and did a brilliant job. And they didn't try to scam me charging extra for pet hair.

I paid $60 for the works. They didn't vacuum the seats properly, the door panels still had dirty marks on them, small change was taken. Very pathetic job on the interior! Outside of car was good except for the side mirrors werent cleaned and my car wasn't even that dirty!!

I've been a customer of The Wash for about 6 years and got to both Unley and Glenelg sites. Always been excellent and friendly service. With the latest renovation it's a great place to have a coffee or catch up on some work while getting your car professionally cleaned.

I wish I checked their reviews prior. I got my TESLA washed here. the wash job ($110) is very poor and as a bonus they lost one my letters of the TESLA logo as well. I realised from the reviews that I am not alone in loosing the logos here. Avoid if you love your car.

I usually leave my car with these guys while I go to the nearby gym. They were even nice enough to drop my key to me. It always pays to have your car washed every couple of weeks to avoid the hard dirt build up, which is what I do. My car always comes out looking new.

dodgy, unprofessional, awful staff. openly admit that cars get damaged there all the time but it’s “not their problem”. try to intimidate and silence customers when they speak up about damages made to their car. revolting. hope you guys are ashamed of yourselves.

DO NOT COME. My front badge missing after I had wash here on 19th Nov, and the staff there ask me to leave my phone number said that they will contact me one or two days later. I NEVER GET THE CALL. 30th Nov now, I’m still expecting you guys will do something.

Will never return. The electrics in my $70k car were completely flooded. My car didn’t even make it home…I called the store to see what could be done, they never even called back. I will never go back and I will make sure everyone I know never uses this place.

I paid $150 for this lovely car wash, 'hand finished with care'. Boot untouched, so was centre console, polish/wax not wiped off properly, mats not cleaned, water marks, rims not clean. I paid for ATTENTION TO DETAIL, which is clearly visible in the pictures.

Do not recommend taking your car here. My car was dented and cargo holder broken. Emailed the business and rang and when they returned call manager was arrogant and rude and not at all interested in listening to my concerns. Told me I could take him to court.

Generally pretty good, however not ideal for Chauffeured Vehicles as in winter time they close occasionally , but we still need the interior cleaned. Closed public holidays, often our busiest days. Price went from $104 to $150 without the services changing.

I paid over $100 for a #3 car wash, vacuum and detail - had to re-do the windows when I arrived home, clean the door handles and back of the side mirrors, fog lamp wasn’t even touched.. won’t be back, poor service, over an hour wait and it was expensive!

I get my car detailed as other women get their nails did. I've been to many car washes around Adelaide and this is the best! Good job on the car, quick if there isn't a line-up to Unley Rd, and the cafe does amazing coffees and gourmet protein balls.

Unprofessional. Center console not even touched with the vacuum. Dust remaining on the air vents plain as day. Paid the $250 and you couldn't steam clean the carpet mats and center console lid? Should have done the job myself for that money..
