"Very cool old farmhouse all the way out in Brooklyn"
"I have been meaning to visit this place for 25 years and finally stopped in about two months ago"
Very informative and interactive for the kids for the activities they do have. They are currently replacing the roof on the building so it has scaffolding around the main house but that's not a big deal unless you wanted pictures that didn't include that kinda stuff.
Visited in 2016. Peter and Grietje Wyckoff were my 9th great grandparents. It was such a unique experience to walk through the house that they lived in. Mind boggling that a house this old is still standing! So glad that it has been preserved for future generations.
I love it here! The environment is very relaxing and the staff are very friendly. They have a garden where they grow fresh fruits and vegetables that they sell on Saturdays. The museum house tour was very informative. What a wonderful place to be.
Very cool old farmhouse all the way out in Brooklyn. Not just a little bit old, the oldest! It goes back 341 years. Its by tour only, but they have seasonal events in the garden and you can check out the house then as well. A cool look into
I have been meaning to visit this place for 25 years and finally stopped in about two months ago. After a thoroughly fascinating tour I went straight home and made a donation to the museum! It's a miracle that this house has survived for
My kids and I attended a Juneteenth event here. We brought our compostable produce to add to their bin, which we did. We were greeted and enjoyed something like a hot sorrel cider, cherries, and blueberries a feature of their every 3rd
Very nice old house. The staff there are just the best and are very knowledgeable about the house and surrounding area. Went today to watch Avengers Endgame and it was great! There was pizza, popcorn and drinks! The kids had a blast.
I am Hollander, I'm proud that my parents are the founders of that country. Cheese and Mills. Harlem, Brooklyn, New Utrecht, Long Island, Staten Island, Hempstead, Flushing, Williamsburg, Wallstreet, Amsterdam Avenue. Proud Proud.
Visits to the Wyckoff House in 1963 and 2002 instilled in me the preservation instinct to prevent the senseless obliteration of our history. Here on an urban landscape is a precious little acreage that reminds us of our ancient
This is a landmark and of one of the oldest wooden houses in Brooklyn. The location (was) originally considered Canarsie (the name of Native American Indian Tribe of the area) but colonized by the early European settlers.
Great little monument to the Dutch ancestry of New York, amidst tyreshops, garages, busy roads etc. We got a private tour from the girl in charge of the educational program (in 2014).
This house is one of the oldest residential buildings in New York. There is emense history and meaning in the preservation of this house...I am part of this lineage More
The Wyckoff House Museum is such a wonderful place to visit! Every 3rd of the month they host free events for kids and families. And the staff is great too!
As a descendant of the original owner, I found this place fascinating. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and knowledgeable.
Wonderful for families...the kids would love the fireside cooking and playground...the adults the herb garden and very active beehives.
