I am about to go on a rant praising the entire cast and crew at Theatre Charlotte for the lovely performance of The Wizard of Oz. There was so much talent on the stage last night I don't even know where to start. Immediately I was blown away by Mary Lynn Bain. She mastered the role of The Wicked Witch. Her energy and talent is unmatched. Dorothy/Cameron Vipperman's ease on stage was quite impressive. I was VERY close and was able to see her facial expressions and wow, she killed it. This girl can sing! I would see any musical she graces her presence with. Can we talk about Ashley Benjamin? Wow. She played the Tinman and did an amazing job. I mean how hard is it to stand in those stiff poses for the entire show? She is very talented. Tapping, singing, acting. This girl is going places. Scarecrow, oh Devon Ovall was made for this role, or he's just that good at going into character. Flailing and prancing in his straw body. I was convinced he was made of straw. Again, a talented singer and dancer. His facial expressions had me laughing for the duration of the play. He's a true joy to watch. Kyle Britt played our beloved Cowardly Lion. He did an amazing job and I felt like a kid again singing (under my breath) along with him. I found myself wondering how they found such a great person for this role. He was absolutely hilarious. I loved the refreshing role of Oz. D. Lavergne Woods is so comfortable on stage I feel like I know her now. Her vibe is fantastic. I hope to see more of her on the Theatre Charlotte stage. Now the munchkins, these kids were wonderful. I literally teared up watching them because they brought so much joy to the stage. This was absolutely delightful. Kudos and thanks to the entire creative team. This was masterpiece. Carry on and see you next time.

Theater is an older facility with lots of simple charm but don't expect many amenities modern theater-goers are used to. Wonderful location in a classy "Old Charlotte" neighborhood, but parking can be a challenge. Secret: go past the theater a half block (headed uptown), and turn right to find a no-charge parking lot that's rarely full in the evening. Hey, If you're a Charlottean, consider attending a monthly film screening here (by the Charlotte Film Society), always followed by intelligent conversation about good cinema. Serious film buffs never miss it!

I cannot even put into words how fantastic date night to "Theatre Charlotte" was for us! The "Cry Baby" performance was phenomenal! We were so impressed by the talent from every single person involved in this performance. We definitely walked away talking about the show for the rest of the night! The cast, stage props, wardrobe, music....all of it was just absolutely wonderful!!! Thanks "Theatre Charlotte" for a great night!!

Great intimate theater, not too many seats but not too few, always has a welcoming feel to it. Actors are excellent. The snacks and drinks are very inexpensive and the shows are always fun! It's been in Charlotte for 90 years now, and still going strong, so come support your local theater and enjoy one of the many excellent shows they have to offer!

This time it was the student performers that had returned to the stage after years absence, because of Covid. But we often go for their regular cast performances, and are always pleased with the results. High quality performances. The student performance of the Prom was really Broadway material.

I've been going to shows around Charlotte for over a decade, and id never been here. i don't know how i missed it, but it is a mistake i will dedicate myself to rectifying! cozy little spot, great performances, good price, intimate setting, and a mix of established and up and coming talent.

The Addams Family musical was fantastic. It was well done with minimum use of props and scenery. The actors and actresses did a great job and some of the singers were outstanding!! I really enjoyed the show and will return to see others. Make sure to get there early for parking!!

Just moved to the area. Have seen the Christmas Carol play many times elsewhere and thoroughly enjoyed this production. Scrooge was fantastic and loved Christmas Past. The entire cast was great. Theatre is small and makes for a pleasant evening.

Went here for Gay Charlotte Film Festival. What a great venue, and great event! The parking is very limited, but you could park on the street during the movies. If you're going here for some other event you should check into the parking times.

3 different addresses and none of them active. Lost our money on this scam. Left message on their phone several times to refund money for the non-existent theatre they market so well.

Small, modern theater with great actors. Saw Misery and could not have loved it more. Hearing empty glass beer bottles falling over in the audience during the show can be distracting.
