Thornton Heath library was empty when I got there at 12.09. There were two members of staff. I wanted to use a computer. I was given one with a time slot of 45 minutes from 12.30 pm. I wanted more time but was told no, then she was going to ask the supervisor when she returns from lunch. I asked why I couldn't start immediately as there was no other user there. I was told that's the way it is. I waited until 12. 30pm. At 1.10pm with 5 minutes left, I went looking for an extention of time from the supervisor who told me I couldn't have additional time even though no other user was there!!! The staff are unfriendly, inflexible and unhelpful. I wouldn't be surprised if the Council closed it. I certainly wouldn't weep for any of the staff I saw there today. The library is open only for two days in the week.

Thornton Heath library is much less formal than many central libraries. My visit on a Saturday led me into the sounds of children playing, people chatting while they browsed their choice of books and magazines and librarians rendering assistance to what seemed an endless queue of enquiries. A lively and exciting place to visit.

Very nice facilities and amazingly helpful staff. Quiet study space really the only reason I use the library and it is pretty good too, bar the odd person or two who are less conscious about the rest. Internet connectivity leaves a lot to be desired though unfortunately. Should that get sorted out the 5 star for sure.

I am still heartbroken that they removed the old library hall. If you were here 10+ years back, you'd be so upset to see it now. I mean it's lovely and modern now, and has excellent facilities. But the beautiful architecture and renaissance look from when I was a child will never be topped...

Was here in september, the staff are lovely but I did notice some very dodgy looking people in and out of the building. Good place to get on with finishing assignments, catching up on work etc. But be very careful about leaving any of your belongings unattended.

Great Library in Thronton Heath. It has also got a special kids place where it has toys, books, dvds, and computer. The facilities are also amazing and overall the staff is very helpful.

Really good for personal studies or spend quality time with my daughter. I wish collection of books be more various and numerous. A real peaceful place.

One of my favourite places in Thornton Heath! It is a great place for children to start reading. The 'Summer Reading Challenge' is a personal favourite.
