This is a theme-park food stand, and I don’t generally expect much from such “restaurants.” That said, this place ain’t great. The veggie burger isn’t bad—the slaw, cheese and brioche bun are nice. The regular burger is kinda “meh” and there’s nothing special about it. They give small portions of fries with your food though which is disappointing. Their fruit is pretty fresh. Do NOT order the steamed vegetables—they taste like they came frozen out of a bag and were steamed last minute. The food is also pricey, which, again, is to be expected. Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall this is not a good value for the money and you’re better off bringing your own lunch, which the park allows you to do.

I didn't get why they only got 2 stars. Got a fish burger, an orange salad, a kids meal cheese burger. The fish was crispy, the vegetables and fruits were fresh. The soda was a bit waterish, which was not too annoying after several hours' sweating walk. After all, decent food for such a fast food restaurant. And the price was not too bad. The major weak point was that they don't have indoor tables. It is always nice to sit in the patio, especially in a safari zoo. But while dinning with the nice plants around, we were also dinning with annoying fliers. Food: 4 stars. Meeting expectation. Fabulous plants: + 1 Annoying fliers: - 1
This was the absolute worst food we have ever had . . . In our whole lives! The burger tasted freezer burnt, and the chicken teriyaki bowl was incredibly weird and atrocious. The rice and vegetable were soggy and tasted like they scooped it out of the trash. The “chicken” was a weird texture and it looked purple and tasted awful. The customer service was also lacking as the gal failed to mention we needed to show our receipt for refills throughout the park. In short this food was traumatizing.
It’s a restaurant in a zoo. We got the double cheese burger and bacon cheeseburger, can’t mess that up right? About $15 each. Burgers were over cooked, buns were thick and not toasted but it’s a burger so it was fine. Fries were surprisingly crispy and well seasoned but nothing to write home about. Staff was nice. Ask for ranch and ketchup, while the ranch was watery it helped make the burger less dry. Dining is all outdoors under umbrellas

We bought Mac & cheese for my 5 yo-she hated the taste of it. The chillie fries were so good. The iced tea was bad too. The reason we were there was because it was mentioned as Asian cuisine when we googled. we walked all the way from the cart Safari for that Asian food and was surprised to see the menu wasn’t Asian. The lady there said they changed the menu a week ago! So was very disappointed with the menu and the taste. Hence the low rating.
Their veggie burger is good. The bun is soft and the burger isn't just a dry hockey puck. They put some shredded cabbage and melted cheese on it too. I really wish the zoo would have this veggie burger on their menu!!! The fries are cut into large wedges and have a good flavored salt sprinkled on. They did a great job cleaning the tables and keeping everyone social distanced. Staff was friendly and upbeat, too!
Awful. The food is easily amongst the worst, if not the worst, theme park or zoo food I have ever had. The prices are average for theme park / zoo food. The food is cold and nearly flavorless. Unfortunately the flavors that are present are extremely unpleasant. The pizza stand adjacent to the thornetree terrace is a much better option.
A great outdoor dining area, that has good service and food.

Service was okay, flies constantly landing everywhere with no fly traps or anything. One of the worst burgers I have ever had, very dry and cold unmelted cheese. Super expensive too.

Kids burgers were cold, and the Sprite was lacking in syrup. Total price for three cold burgers, bad drinks and a bag of Cheetos - $30. The only thing here even remotely worth getting is the Orange Chicken meal.
Luke was such a great help making sure our allergy concerns were met, despite the shift supervisor being dismissive. Thank you for your attention.

Burger is reasonable priced but not for the quality. It was dry with only lettecue and tomato. For the price I expect more flavor with all toppings I might want.
The ambiance in this place is really nice. The restaurants are overpriced as in any theme park but the pizza was tasty though. You better bring your own snacks
Mediocre food, rice was not cooked in half the dish that cost $15. It's like Panda Express but 3 times the cost and much worse.
Veggie burger was hard on the edges and could count the fries on the plate for 11 dollars. Was not satisfying... ugh!!!
Terrible service experience. Not to comment on food because it's not the place to go to enjoy a meal.
Tanner and Lucy are awesome keeping the restaurant sparkle clean with exceptional customer sevrice
Ordered double cheeseburger, tempura avocado burger, and mandarin chicken. Exceeded expectations.
Just plain disgusting…. 20 dollars for a McDouble tasting burger less seasoned.
Cold and tasteless chicken wrap... Not worth at all... Never going to recommend
Good place to have burgers and Chinese food at the San Diego safari zoo
Best shirts and hats plus good food. Nice seating, cool shade.
Great food...& customer service
