I used to frequent the previous Thrifty Liquor location in Stone Oak and was overjoyed to find this one by chance a few months later. While I would agree that pricing on normal liquor brands exceeds that of competitors, too many people are comparing apples to oranges in that regard. One can’t expect a small chain to obtain the same level of wholesale discount that the larger stores benefit from. However, where Thrifty Liquor (TL) does excel is availability of hard to find bottles, particularly in the whiskey department (bourbon in particular). For example, I found a bottle of EH Taylor Small Batch bourbon at this location for $113, while drizly and other online bulk retailers and local chains like Total Wine, Specs, and Gabriels were selling around $165 per bottle. Customer service has never been anything short of exemplary in my experience. I’ve had especially memorable and enjoyable times checking out with the younger Hispanic woman (I believe her name is Michelle) who works this location. I’ve also seen her at the previous Stone Oak location and her professionalism, willingness to answer questions, and overall demeanor were beyond impressive. Such a friendly and bubbly young lady. If you’re looking for a bottle of Bacardi rum, sure, it’s probably less expensive elsewhere. However, it’s important to remember that those few extra dollars spent might be putting a child through college and not padding the corporate bonuses of overpaid executives at some of the larger chains.

I stopped here awhile ago while visiting a friend in town and let me tell you, this place was clutch. I really appreciate the customer service. The worker there I believe her name was Michelle. She’s awesome. We were out last minute shopping and decided to grab a bottle. We found this place right at closing. Michelle was so gracious and friendly. She absolutely did not have to let us in. I know how it is when you’re ready to close up and go home. She was in the process of closing and let us in to shop and even patiently offered suggestions. Really appreciated her. She made this place a gem.

Went in to purchase several bottles of bourbon....After seeing a bottle of Isaac Bowman Port Finish listed at $70 (It's a $39 bottle) and a bottle of Basil Hayden Toast at $79 (it's a $40 bottle) I decided to walk out. I can get the exact same bottles delivered to my door (shipping included) for a lot less. Problem with price gauging is people don't know they are being ripped off. Save your money and go somewhere else or use a whiskey delivery service.

I hate it when I place my money in a merchant's hands and they put my change down on the counter top. That just boils my noodles. This place does that. Other than that, I find Thrifty Liquor's prices to be consistently higher than others in the area.

Thrifty liquor and its employees/owners are all wonderfully friendly, helpful and kind. Andy and Michelle are always happy and I enjoy our little chats when I stop in. The service is above expectations. Thank you for being so great!

Michelle is such an absolute pleasure every time here! All of the staff are friendly. Michelle is phenomenal and truly shows professionalism. She demonstrates hospital service with integrity in every thing she does!

I always have a amazing experience at the place ,not only does Michael help with great service, Andy gives great picks for me to try so I can mix things up , I will always come here to get my drinks …

Don't post hours you dont keep and turn people away because ya wann go home early ... not very smart business practice, especially for a new store!!! Lol

Definitely NOT friendly service! The man (not a gentleman) that checked me out was plain rude! Seriously over priced as well. I won’t be back.
