Tilt Coffee Bar can be hard to find so make sure you use your GPS. We got lucky and found metered street parking by the steps to the outdoor courtyard where Tilt Coffee Bar is located. They have outdoor seating with a huge metal flower hanging above. We were waiting at the far corner of the courtyard so we were surprised when the cashier lady brought our drinks to us! Iced Ceremonial Grade Cloud Matcha ($7): I'm not usually a fan of ceremonial grade matcha since it's bitter or has an overwhelming matcha taste but this was really good. You can taste the matcha and milk components separately as well and know Tilt uses quality products. Iced Sweetened Cloud Matcha ($6.50): We asked to make it vegan so she used coconut cream but I'm not sure which type of milk alternative she used. The coconut cream went really well with the matcha but added a bit too much sweetness to the drink. Other than that, it was so delicious! I think I'll try the coconut cream with the ceremonial grade cloud matcha next time to see if that's the perfect match for me :) Hot Nutty Cloud ($6.50) + Oat Milk ($0.75): I got this drink hot so the cup was much smaller than the iced drinks. They couldn't substitute the cream since the peanut butter is incorporated into the cream. The flavor was perfect and so unique. I wasn't sure how they were going to pull peanut butter flavored cream off but they did. Definitely recommend trying if you're feeling adventurous.

Coffee ☕️ and tea anyone? Well other than your typical cold brews, they have specialty coffee here, teas and more. What I love is that as a tea person, I get tired of looking at the same typical green teas and black teas people offer. Tilt Coffee has knowledgeable baristas and they have different types of oolong, white, green teas which makes it extra special. Love the vibes. Not really a place to sit inside, but they also sell little items for coffee lovers and more. There are outside seating areas however as you can see in the little preview video. If you want real authentic coffee and tea, come on through!!

I walked over here from the Stanley Mosk Courthouse because I love coffee and I saw that they had excellent reviews. Unfortunately, my 15 minute walk took me to an extremely small shop that was only serving drinks to-go. I am not a fan of having to get my coffee to-go and even less of a fan when I'm visiting from out of town. I got the Cinnamon Cloud which I was able to make vegan upon request. It tasted fine, even though the temperature was a bit too lukewarm for 7:30 a.m. and in rainy weather. It was not only served to-go, but served with the lid on, which makes me think they really don't care about the presentation of their coffee. It's just a grab and go type of vibe here, not a luxury coffee experience. I'll pass the next time I'm in DTLA and go someplace that I can get speciality coffee in real glassware and have a place to sit inside.

Upon walking towards the the coffee bar I thought to myself "oh, no- this is going to be some pretentious coffee shop with high prices", man was I wrong. The coffee shop is clean, chic, and unique. From the very get go, the ramp leading to the site was surrounded by a white hall with neon lights that immediately grabbed my attention. The hall directed to me courtyard in which the coffee shop was located- the outdoor seating was absolutely breathtaking! The shop is small, but cute and while the coffee prices were slightly high, the quality was up to par. I ordered the a hot matcha latte; this was the first time in my life it felt like I had QUALITY matcha! This place was worth every penny! Oh, and they have beautiful quiches! :)

I'd like to start with parking. I was lucky to park on the street. But we can park inside of the parking structure. Don't worry, they can validate. Because It's inside of the apartment, it's very unique and cozy environment. Also the entrance after I parked on the street is absolutely special (see it for yourself). The restroom, you can go one in the salad restaurant right next to it. Tables and chairs are very clean even though it's outside. This is my first time here so I got the most popular drink. Cloud latte. Not only it looks good on photos but also tastes awesome Lastly, the service was incredible! Super friendly baristas working here! You will love it

Tilt Coffee Bar is a coffee lover's oasis surrounded by skyscrapers that touch the Los Angeles sky. They offer simple selections, but don't let the minimal offerings fool you, the options are definitely outstanding drinks and snacks. The coffee drinks were handmade after ordering and served with a genuine smile. If you prefer tea or other beverages, not to fear, they have some great choices too. Add the amazing views and the small park-feeling atmosphere, complete with a grassy area, it is a perfect place to relax in the middle of DTLA. A definite recommendation from me especially if you are looking to enjoy a quiet moment in this bustling area...

Quality! This is one of the better espresso + coffee spots in LA. Located in the heart of downtown you'll find yourself in a sort of haven from the city, furnished with plenty of tables and seating. It's a calm contrast from the busy streets surrounding the area. They use high quality ingredients here - Strauss and Califia milks, Heart and Tilt's own coffee beans... and the baristas know how to maximize those ingredients. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Friendly staff, good cup of coffee. Can’t ask more than that. They also seem to have a few vegan sweets available for purchase. A lot of people like to instagram this place, seems like I’ve seen 4 people already and I’m not even half way through my cup of breve. It has just one bench for seating, one counter with a cactus for photo ops (see my pic) - and a power strip for you to charge your electronics, nice touch. This place is also dog friendly, since there’s a bowl of water for them near the bench inside the store.

Very cute little coffee shop in downtown! The parking is street parking. It’s located in the middle of some buildings but easy to find. I had an iced cinnamon cloud and one of their loaf pound bread/cake. Both were good and sweet! decent good flavor like any good coffee shop. The seating is outdoor. Good place to stop by if you’re in this particular area of DTLA, otherwise there might be better spots to go in terms of parking!

This is a great little outdoor coffee spot. I ordered a dirty chai and took a meeting right out front at one of their tables. Wifi connection was solid. I remember the latte being pretty good. This is a great place to pass through if you need to get some fresh air or to meet a friend briefly. It’d be tough to setup a workstation as the seating is all outside and I don’t remember seeing outlets/plugs.

This place a little hidden inside an apartment complex, and it has good yelp reviews - which means their coffees must be good! Staff was friendly! She recommended me to try the mocha cloud (hot) or latte cloud (ice) as these are the signature drinks. I chose the mocha cloud. Cloud is a foam that flows on top of the coffee and it’s sweet. The combination of coffee and chocolate was perfect! I am so glad that I came by! Will come back again for sure!

Your small neighborhood cafe! Cloud latte was nice you can get it hot, very smooth and creamy. Not too hot on the coffee itself... tastes good but not amazing if that makes sense. Had a good little chat with a friend at the small seating area.

Tried Tilt after a friend recommended it and I wasn't disappointed! Friendly staff and good coffee. I had the cloud latte with an extra shot, it was creamy and had a good flavor (on the nutty/chocolaty side rather than acidic/fruity). Theres lots of seating and some grassy areas outside the shop to enjoy your drink.

I love this place I actually don’t even drink coffee but I went in to pick up coffee for my roommate one of the baristas introduced me to an all organic coffee they have and now I’m hooked! They also have these really amazing vegan chocolate chip cookie! The Cheesecake in the pix isn’t much to brag about I should have gotten cookies again! ‍♂️

Great little coffee shop in a unique space. Probably hard to find if driving but walking was easy. I got the cloud latte and my boyfriend got the nutty cloud. Both super good, if you love peanut butter definitely try the nutty cloud. If you’re looking for a strong coffee taste this isn’t it but I loved it! Extremely nice and welcoming baristas too.

3rd space at its finest. Not your home or office but a nice outdoor environment to relax and chill while drinking really good small batch roasted coffee. The property itself is a modern apartment complex that has interesting architectural lines all around with drought tolerant landscaping aside from grass which is not trendy anymore. Very Zen

  • Alvin Lopez

I got the nondairy version which is oat milk and oat foam... the best in LA. The perfect ration of milk, matcha, and sweet. I'd go more often but the area is so sketchy.. lots of scary homeless people! The employees are nice and know what they're doing. Parking sucks and you'll have to park near an encampment. I do recommend trying it!!

  • Michael Hahn

Toilets. This review is for not having toilets and sending customers to neighbours for use of toilets, which are marked "out of order". In the end you find yourself walking all over town trying to find a toilet while NOT being able to enjoy your coffee. Ended up at Blue Bottle, which offers comfortable indoor seating AND toilets. I never write review unless something exceeds my expectations and so this coffee shop deserves the time spent on a glowing review. Best latte I’ve had !! Highly recommend…I ordered their Cloud iced latte with oat milk. Creamy, smooth and strong, not too sweet. Such a treat, and staff are friendly, shop is clean w cute outdoor area.

Great little coffee shop in a shipping container nestled in a quiet area between a new apt./retail space. Great coffee! The lattes are really nice. The second time we went we were curious about the cloud mocha. It’s worth trying, maybe share it. Sweet but not too sweet! Some indoor and plenty of outdoor seating.

My favorite cafe in all of DTLA! Friendliest baristas that actually know what they’re doing! Outdoor seating with plants all around. Cute dog galore. Pastries, quiche, and other snacks plus other bevs in the mini fridge.

Loved this place! The baristas were so nice and patient while I asked questions. For iced, they recommend The Cloud. And my bf got the chaggaccino. Both were really good. The chaggaccino is slightly cinnamon-y and nutty. The cloud was creamy and slightly sweet. A great place to chill and talk outside.

Really cute spot in DTLA. The location can't be beat. It really is a nice quiet oasis and makes you feel like you've left downtown. My wife and I love coming here on a Sunday morning. I have had the cinnamon latte which is off menu but is very good, otherwise I just get a normal latte. Great spot.

  • Betty Lin

We asked for a strawberry cloud drink with a shot of matcha. It was not on their menu but it was absolutely amazing. The unsweetened matcha cut the sweetness of the strawberry cloud drink perfectly. There are tiny little strawberry pieces in the drink and they are like little gems you bite into.

  • Donald Murray

Best coffee in town fingers down. Owners and body of workers are all exceptional and friendly. Amazing coffee and pinnacle-notch carrier! Ordered a vanilla latte and the iced mocha. Soo so top. The surroundings is lovely, amazing little spot with enough seating internal and out. Good vibes!!!

This is green oasis is tucked in the middle of DTLA buildings. It is beautiful and my Iced cloud latte was perfect! I can not wait to return. I can not tell you how refreshing the atmosphere was after spending a long time in the city surrounded by brick and concrete.

Interesting spot inside apartment complex. Wanted to try the cloud drink. They didn't have dairy free so I tried the dairy one, didn't get the hype. Cute spot though, will try other drinks next time if I go.

Had the cloud latte using Oatly oatmilk. It was creamy and lovely. The location is fantastic with the tilted room garden and extra seating outside to enjoy the the LA sun. They have vegan food offerings in the fridge, but haven't tried. Highly recommend.

Roaster with pour over, light roast single origin coffee options. Airy outdoor seating off the curb, hidden in a little courtyard rooftop area. We will be back! Thanks for being in DTLA. Pouring over on the kalita wave with a fellow stagg kettle. More

I ordered their iced cloud matcha (ceremonial grade) with almond milk - the cloud is their homemade whipped/heavy cream. It wasn’t the best matcha I’ve ever had, but the taste did get better and better towards the latter half of the drink.

  • Steven Dykeman

Best coffee in LA. Proper espresso. Milk done well. Synesso machine. Absolutely magnificent. It is impossible to find a half decent coffee for someone with a Sydney/Melbourne palate in LA with the exception for this store.

Interesting flavors! They taste good too — I recommend their Nutty Cloud latte. The environment is relaxing and tranquil despite being in downtown. A plus that the baristas are nice to the pups that come around. …
