"Really only reviewing the Banh mi, the roast pork rolls are really good, fresh rolls and nice pork belly"
Came across this local bakery at Brandon park SC. It’s outside the front of ALDI. Noticed the banh mi and decided to give one a try. Got the roast pork roll $8.50. Wasn’t sure what to expect, as I very much enjoy a good banh mi. The banh mi was surprisingly good. It doesn’t strike me as traditional in the sense of ingredients, but the flavors really work. My banh mi had tomato in it, which I felt added to the refreshing taste and texture of the carrots and coriander. The bun itself was fresh and crunchy. The bread was chewy, not stale. The roast pork appears to be home made as it’s like an onion pork stew type of filling. It’s different but it works. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my banh mi and will definitely be here again. Price wise, Springvale which is around 10-15 mins away from me costs around $8 for a roast bbq pork roll. It’s a more expensive meat but if I can’t be bothered with the drive and hassle of scarce parking, this local bakery is a prime option in my opinion. They also have a small pie display which I think I’ll need to try. It’s a bit weird there’s dim sims and potato cakes in the same display and not sure how fresh they stay, but each to their own. I’ll definitely give those pies a try one day.
This place is cash only in a shopping centre where over 95 percent of places accept cards. One day I unfortunately got tempted by the delicious looking items on display, forgot about this place being cash only and then when it came to the point of payment, I had to return the item. The staff member was quite curt when she told me that the place was cash only and I felt unwelcome at the time. It would have been so much better if the staff member had suggested that I go to Aldi, get a cash out and then come back. Instead the staff member just made the motion to put the item back away essentially treating me as if I were an indigent person! Will never visit again!
To be honest, not as traditional Vietnamese roll.Very bad taste and slow service, not recommend roast pork roll ,very very super salty pork, especially the crispy skin, bit with few blocks of salt rocks, luckily the vegetables are fresh, but only thirsty. The best roll should be try Springvale or Clayton ones!
Up there with one of the best roast pork rolls I've tasted! Very generous serving of pork and fresh ingredients. A roll that's holds up agains classics such as n'lee bakery and Trangs in Collingwood. Well priced at 7.50
Really only reviewing the Banh mi, the roast pork rolls are really good, fresh rolls and nice pork belly. Only negative is the price, $8 is seems quite high compared to nearby Springvale
While I haven’t tried all the products, I bought some cakes here the other day and the lovely lady threw in some freebies. Thank you so much! :)
No stars. Bought a pie for $5.80 and got charged a 50cent surcharge. How can this be legal.
The best Banh Mi around. Do yourself a favour and try any of them!! Just yum
Cash only... hahahha. Poor service ...
