"Food Was BLAND! Eggs Under Cooked"
Well I was on a business liaison and my partner introduce me to this restaurant and inn that support anybody working in the railroad especially in the freight railroad like CRX or Union Pacific or Santa Fe. Not the passenger like Amtrak or our local Metra. Anyway,s he had treated me here and I've never heard of this place in the south side. They were only for take out but they had a bench to eat outside early that morning before it got really sweltering hot today. I have the "Train Masters" breakfast which was a omelet of ham Swiss cheese and a side of French toast instead of pancakes because I didn't want to have a super heavy breakfast. Overall, the food was delicious for breakfast. Nothing underrated and nothing overrated if I'm around the South Side this is a hidden gem to eat here as well next to the other South Side American breakfast places but due to the pandemic you have to take this home unless you eat on one of the single bench that they had out there. the staff was courteous enough because it rained the day before to wipe it down and not sit on a wet bench. Other than that it was a decent and delicious breakfast I either recommend you come here and sit on the bench and also I recommend that you call ahead to place your order. The orders on the menu are based off of conducting and train-related situations that's why my order was called the "train Masters" breakfast.
Somehow I have managed to go when they have shift change which is about 2:00 which means there is a wait of about 10mins before your order is taken. The food is good the place is clean, small with tables and booths. Very casual place. Maybe not for groups. Prices are reasonable not handicap friendly and you cant see the restaurant from a main street it located behind stores and there is a parking lot. I have heard the breakfast time is a better time to go for service and their breakfast food is good. I would visit again, I will just make sure its on the morning.
I stopped in on a Monday around 11 am. They were having staffing issues but the service was still excellent. The staff that was present was so friendly. I like the comfy feel of the restaurant. It’s a simple, clean setup. The coffee isn’t the best but the rest of breakfast was perfect. I had a veggie omelet and my husband had the omelet and biscuits smothered with sausage gravy. It was so good he barely chewed. Also, you can’t beat their prices in relation to the quality and amount of food you receive.
Today it was horrible! The service was terrible and the tuna wasn't that good at all it was very fishy!! This new crew that they have starting at 2 needs to step it up!!! The waitress acts like she don't really wanna be there....if you ask for something or need something refilled, you have to wait a very long time to get it and that's unexceptable!! I don't know where they got this "new crew at 2" from but they need to go back where they came from and get the old crew back!!!
Food Was BLAND! Eggs Under Cooked. Plus Waiting For 40mins And My Order Was Wrong! On Top Of That Ordered Grits With Cheese....Get The Grits...No Cheese And Only One Butter. First And Last Time. Oh And They Do Not Answer The Phone In A Timely Manner....You Will Be On Hold For At Least 10mins While Connie Trys To Transfer You. FYI I Only Ordered Sausage Eggs and Grits With Cheese And The Still Messed That Up. HORRIBLE
This place is great. I like the atmosphere but the food is a knock out. And everyone I've brought up there loves this place and returns on their own again and again. No riff raff. Any negative reviews. I can't understand it. I've been there many times since they have opened. I live close by so when I say many times . I mean a lot. I have never had a negative moment there. We all love it.
I ended up there on a day their power was out, but that didn't stop them. It was the best breakfast sandwich I'd had in a long time. They sure don't skimp on the bacon.

Made an early run to Walmart and finally decided to drop by and try their breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised that the atmosphere was quaint and there were other early bird diners already sitting and eating. My omelet was awesome. I'm very happy to see new, sit in restaurants so close by home. I will be revisiting to try their other dishes. I recommend going here.
I think this is an awesome place to eat for a reasonable price. It's out of the way of a busy street and has good parking. Although the waitress made a few mistakes, it's not enough that give them or this resturesta a bad name. They are very polite and have a good sense of humor. My husband and I will be returning again soon.
Just on the whim my breakfast was served in a timely manner nice and hot and fresh customer service was great one gentleman working out whole floor and counter Timely when they began to back up here buys incoming passengers of the wait time which I thought was great customer service I will return
My first time having breakfast here was perfect. The triple stack deluxe breakfast was prepared as well presented with precision and accuracy. Also the restaurant is located in an area that is normally not congested with heavy traffic and has parking available. ✅✅ Great staff Great food
I'm reluctant to write this review for selfish reasons. I don't want it to be so popular that I get crowded out of my own spot! Best food, healthy portions, cheap price and laid back environment. Sometimes it gets busy and there's a wait but it's worth it. This is a hidden gem in Chicago!
This used to be one of my favorite spots. Until some changes. For instance paying up front and not being seated. We requested hot chocolate and were handed a Styrofoam cup of hot water and a packet of Swiss Miss. I get that its not high end but come on. Food is still good however.
A lot has changed about this little hidden diner located inside the motel. I went to meet a friend for quick breakfast last Sunday and the restaurant stopped inside dining. We were greeted with a phone in only sign on the door. Very disappointing.

Waited 30 mins for food, it never came out. Had to cancel the order. Wasn't even notified or anything I was standing right outside. You can only call in your order btw.

Crooks order a Western Omelette which is $6.79,I said substitute grilled chicken for the ham,no problem,I get the bill they charged me $9.99 for build your own omelette which is not even on the menu than added $1.50 for the chicken on top of building your omelette crooked
We went at a bad time, in between shifts and there was no cook cooking. What was supposed to be a 10 minute wait just to order turned into more than a half hour. A substitute cook came for about 1 hr and did a good job with 5 orders waiting....
So i had previously left a good review off the strength of having a good experience the first time and bad experience the 2nd time. On the 3rd time AND the 4th and very last time i will ever step foot in that ghetto restaurant I decided to
I love this place for breakfast I get a modified version of chicken and waffles I get pancakes and chicken strips with french fries the pancakes are huge always tasty the chicken strips are always cooked well they never disappoint
Take out only is reason for 1 star in atmosphere.. good breakfast.

Unprofessional service. Received pancakes 10 minutes before meat and eggs.. waitress acted as if it was normal so I didn't say nothing. Just knew I wouldn't be dinning there no more. Didn't like the aldi brand syrup.
Absolutely, a South side hidden gem. Great breakfast at a reasonable price. Dont expect a great ambiance. Focus on the food. Very tasty. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and large crowds.
Been couple times right when they open 6am. Food comes fast. Only had take out. Always enough and prices are good. Tried to call in but they don't take call ins no more, so the lady said.
This establishment was very unprofessional with service. The food was over cooked. Not to mention, the service was completely out of order. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to dine at.
This restaurant has a great friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. I would very much recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.
Friendly and humorous staff!!! FOH and BOH. My sister and I definitely Will be returning!!! Food delivered in a timely fashion and cooked to perfection …
This place used to be great, now they not only have menus but the portions of food is so small that after 3 years of eating there , I must find another spot.
Love the place. The prices are alright, the food is good, and never have to wait for seating. However the food does take a while to get to your table.
Good food, and wait staff a little slow but they were real nice and pleasant. Breakfast all day! But other food is real good too. No soup!
The food is good, but they have a tendency to run out of items, and you also have long waiting time. Nasty attitudes is a problem too.
Friendly staff reminds me of small town diners. I eat here when getting supplies at home depot or Lowe's. Good food and fair prices.
I saw the word chili next to my hamburger meal and I thought was hamburger with chili on the sideactually chilly on the burger. Yuk
Good food. The fish sandwich is fresh and filling. Learned today that they're closed between 1:30 and 2:30 so plan accordingly.
Food was delicious and inexpensive. Plus the waiter and staff were so sweet. Absolutely loved my experience. Try it out !!!!
Delicious American food, the steak was awesome. The personnel were friendly and efficient. Everything is bright and clean.
Best breakfast in Chatham, most of the South Side. Can't beat the prices and pancakes were great. We'll be back for sure!
The yard master is out of this world! I'm only on the south side 2 days a week but I always stop here amazing food
