We were in the mood for old school Italian food and ran into this cute neighborhood gem while walking in the Village. Wonderful cozy and homey atmosphere with classic American Italian music hits playing. The food was outstanding old school American style Italian. We ordered Orecchiette with broccoli de rabe, sausage in garlic and oil sauce along with Eggplant rollatini as entrees. We started with an arugula and radicchio salad which was fantastic. It was crisp and cold and perfectly dressed with a tasty balsamic and oil dressing. The Orecchiette dish was amazing. Everything was done to perfection and the flavors were well balanced. Pasta cooked to a perfect al dente. Broccoli de rabe was crisp and tender. The sausage was delicious. Italian comfort food at its best. Perfect execution. The eggplant rotallini dish consisted of rigatoni pasta with sauteed eggplant in red sauce topped with cubes of fresh mozzarella. Everything was tasty and the sauce was old school grandma style. A flawless dish. Service was attentive and professional. This is a perfect location if you're seeking old school style Italian American cuisine in the Village area. Prices are reasonable for the area as well. It's a hidden gem in the village.

I really enjoyed my self at this restaurant. I went here twice while visiting NYC alone, back in Sept 2015. First time I stumbled upon it , it was at lunch and it was very quiet. Professional, knowledgeable, service. Pleasant, cute, warm atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. Most importantly Pesce Pasta has delicious food. They do fish really well. I had Red Snapper Livorno, which was the special, it comes with pasta or vegetables which i had. It was broccoli -so, so good. I also ordered a green salad which was dressed with really really good tasting dressing and a glass of white wine.which was very good for the price. Second time I went about 830 pm for Sunday dinner- alone again. There was one table left. Just for me. I had the same no non sense waiter , which i prefer. I had a different fish special, cant recall the name. which came with greens this time- done perfectly. Ordered A mixed tomato salad- very good. Their salad dressing is most tasty. And white wine. Again, all very very good. It's a good place for solo diners. Ill be back next time in New York. I love fish done in Italian style and this place does that the best. if you have ever been to Italy, you will feel transported back when you eat here. And the price cant be beat. Trattoria Pesce Pasta - New York, NY, United States. Interior at Lunch - Trattoria Pesce pasta
Since I've done reviews, this is the first time I've given any establishment five well deserved stars. I was introduced to Pesce Pasta around 1996, when it was under a different owner. The current owner was a young waiter then, and every time I ate there (previously, every Friday evening), I always ate the same dish, which wasn't part of the regular menu or specials, it was created for me, and today, whenever I visit, not as frequently as before, the owner remembers the dish. I took a dear friend for dinner this evening, as a pre-birthday gift, and surprisingly, the owner wasn't there; he was on a well-deserved day off. His son who was running the restaurant attended us and ensured I had my usual. The portion was slightly less than I was accustomed, but just as tasty and enjoyable. In the years since going to this restaurant, whether during the week or weekend, it was always packed, sometimes waiting for 30 minutes for a table. I was afraid that they might have been affected by the pandemic, but they seemed to have weathered it well; tonight, the dining room was packed, each table occupied and the staff attentive to everyone, as if they were an extended family, as they all seem.
lasagna bolognese! ***Updating my review after visiting a second time. The moment you walk in you feel like you are entering a cozy family atmosphere that has the vibe of “old New York.” White table cloths, old photographs, calm lighting, and very soft music, such that you can actually have a conversation over dinner! Perfect place for a date in the west village, and even more perfect if you’re trying to avoid the “trendy” 20-something crowds you see swarming other restaurants and bars nearby. This is the kind of restaurant where the host and waiters know their regular customers by name. It’s pretty clear that Trattoria Pesce Pasta is a staple for long-time locals in the neighborhood and people who are craving some solid Italian food that isn’t overpriced. Pasta and lasagna were delicious and consistent with our first visit. The one comment I would add is that the sauces are kind of on the heavier side so be mindful of what you order if you’re looking for a lighter meal. I’m not a big dessert person but the ricotta pistachio cake is to die for. Looking forward to going back!
This is my go-to Italian restaurant in the West Village. I have been eating here for 23 years. The service is always attentive and friendly. The menu is reliable, warming and specializes in shellfish/fish, though meat is available. The wine list has many reputable wines all under $75. The mixed vegetable Antipasto Della Casa is a good plate to share as a starter. Daily specials are abundant. Seafood risotto is superb. I usually ask them to make me Shrimp Fra Diavolo, not on the menu. See you soon.

This was the most amazing dining experience I've ever had! Prices were GREAT and the quality AND phenomenal presentation of food was incredible! Great portions! The place was SO SO charming and sweet, a little hole in the wall that I can't believe we were blessed enough to stumble upon! AND such a very friendly owner who spoiled us and treated us like family!! The food was AWESOME, especially the desserts! Home-made pasta, 98 bottles of wine to choose from! My only complaint is that he is not located in Michigan so I could eat there every week!!! YOU HAVE TO GO HERE!! It will make your trip so memorable!! We will be going back for lunch!! If anyone has given them a bad review there is something seriously wrong with that person!!! Five stars isn't enough!!!! Don't leave New York without eating here!!
18 years. Let me repeat, 18 years we have been coming here, and not only is it Amazing, but it is CONSISTENT CONSISTENT CONSISTENT! This is honestly our favorite "neighborhood" style restaurant. The prices are beyond reasonable and the quality is always Top Notch! Not a single thing has changed in quality, portion, or service in all the years that we have been coming here. I cannot be more passionate about a review...I am not one to write reviews about restaurants because they are truly an individual opinion for everyone's taste and preference are so different, but this little gem truly stands alone. I just hope they never change or go away, I would be heartbroken. Bleeker St. Pesce Pasta is what coming to NYC is all about!
“Hey Joe!!” the staff warmly welcomes yet another regular, and there are many of those in here for a reason. Authentic New Yorker accents echo as older city-veteran patrons commingle near the post-bar-hopping crowd, all united by a common mission: lasagna. And make no mistake, it’s the lasagna you’re looking for here (I typically don’t even like lasagna — yet I occasionally crave this one). With the rise of many inauthentic restaurants serving pipeline-manufactured food, this place in contrast satisfies my need for a wholesome neighborly dining experience. Get the pistachio cake at the end, non negotiable.

After walking out of another establishment that was extremely noisy and impersonal we stumbled into this incredibly lovely family run restaurant. There is nothing pretentious about this restaurant — it’s very inviting and comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious authentic simple traditional Italian dishes and very Reasonably priced. A lovely touch which I’m sure is intentional is that we were not presented with our bill until I asked for it. If you are looking for a comfortable unpretentious authentic family owned New York Italian restaurant in the village this is the place to go.

We totally loved this place! Their foods were nice, service was flawless, and the vibe was also very romantic. My company tried risotto and he fell in love with the dish. He kept talking about that one.. i tried shrimp oil pasta and that one was so great too. I would definitely go back if i got a chance. There are lots of options for your pasta, so if you want, you could choose whatever type of your pasta. The entrance of the restaurant is beautiful.

Hiked from the EV to here because I was craving clam pasta and this place caught my eye. The interior is warm and cozy, and the waiters were very sweet and attentive. I ordered the clam linguine with white sauce, and my boyfriend had the seafood risotto. Both meals were so good that we barely said a word throughout dinner, we were so engrossed in eating. Absolutely fantastic. We also had the cheesecake afterwards which was amazing. There was a line out the door but the service was fast and efficient, we were seated within 10 minutes even though there was another party ahead of us. Worth every penny and the mile long trek.
The food is FANTASTICALLY DELICIOUS!! Please start off with the fried calamari and house salad! DELICIOUS! Then order The Jumbo Shrimp Parmesan with pasta. That is a meal to Die For. Everything is right with the world after that meal. There is a waiter there named Giuliani. He is extremely friendly and a total delight. His suggestions, his friendly candor and knowledge about wines and food is Spectacular! This is the BEST Italian restaurant that I have ever been too. The delicious food, the ambiance and the staff!!!!...... Five stars and more. EXCELLENT!!
I come here often with my husband and friends because it’s amazing. I’m Italian and struggle to find Italian restaurants that match the stuff my grandma made but this place is so close it not only feeds my hunger but also helps me with my homesickness. Definitely my favorite restaurant for any occasion!

Perfect NY Italian experience! My favorite place in the city had closed after being open for like 50 years so I was afraid I wouldn't find another place, and I was happy to find Pesce Pasta. The red sauce is thick and full of flavor, you can tell they put a lot of attention into their food. We had the Seafood diablo pasta with lobster and the chicken parm. Both were excellent! They have a nice selection of wine as well. The prices for what you get are incredibly reasonable! We will definitely return on our next trip in town.
I’ve been going here since I was a teenager; brought my first date here when I was 17. It’s a very easy place to be considered a friendly face, as the staff are consistent, attentive and caring. One of the most romantic places you can go in the village and not feel an ounce of pretentiousness. Pasta is made fresh, there’s an abundance of different seafood options and their wine selection pairs perfectly with whatever you order. I highly suggest an espresso and lemon sorbet for dessert.
Trattoria Pesce Pasta is a WONDERFUL restaurant. The food is amazing; last evening, I noticed their "stand together" sign on the window, which prompted the restaurant choice for the evening, as I personally have been very involved with New York Freedom Rally in the #StandTogether campaign. I was happy to find a pro-freedom Italian place for at which to celebrate Columbus Day! I had been once previously, and thoroughly enjoyed the food both times. Very friendly establishment.
Today, in January 2023, two friends from Philly came to visit. After 3 years of absence and pandemic, they were eager to once again enjoy Pesce Pasta, our favorite West Village Italian! Five of us were in total heaven once again, savoring the outstanding sole, striped bass, salmon, steak, linguini pesto, grilled mushrooms, and our favorite, the broccoli rabe! Thank you for being there! Louise

The drinks were cute. The caprese salad was wonderful and the sauteed broccoli rabe was extremely tasty. The downside was it took over 30 minutes for us to get our food after the first course and there was no one else at the restaurant but us. I had cheese ravioli with marinara and my son had the mixed grill. His seafood was all overcooked. And when we got our bill I was charged for an extra Bellini. Great atmosphere, mediocre food and lousy service.
It was a cold, very wet night when we arrived in the village on board a coach. Half the coach descended into the Trattoria at the same time. Despite the crazy influx of diners service was impeccable and the food delicious. No fuss made when everyone arrived without any notice! I loved the Spaghetti with meatballs and my husband said the lasagna was one of the best he'd had. Old school Italian dining in a beautiful little restaurant.
Good food. Friendly service. Great value for money. What more do you need? My wife and I really enjoyed our meal. The place is rustic and fun. The guests are a mix of people who have been coming there for years mixed in with the lucky tourists who happened to find it. With 2 glasses of wine each, and 2 appetizers and 2 meals the bill was less than $100...for good food in Manhattan!
Came for an outdoor dinner on a Sunday evening. It was divine. The wait staff feels so settled into the establishment, as if they came with the building. It has a very classic NY Italian feeling, like what you imagine in the movies. I had lobster, mussel & clam fra diavolo- absolutely delicious. Seafood was not overcooked and the spice was just right. I look forward to returning.
A quaint old style restaurant with a calming ambiance. the service was prompt and the food was terrific. The prices are reasonable and the portions are great. I had the shrimp and calamari over linguine that had my mouth watering. It was my first experience but will definitely not be my last. I would recommend this establishment for a nice romantic dinner as I had. Kudos
I ordered a chicken parm and an order of spaghetti and meatballs. Honestly it tastes like ketchup with spaghetti, maybe a little bit better. My chicken parm tasted the same way. And they gave us like such little parm I could barely sprinkle any to cover up the taste. I would never go back.

Lovely old school Trattoria, great food and freindly service. This place was recommended to us 15 years ago, by a shouty old cab driver, who's sadly dead now. Finally, on our third visit to NYC, we ate there and it was just as good as he said it would be. There was a pic of Gino, the cab driver, on the wall too.

Been coming here for over 12 years. The same faces always greet you with the warmth of family. This place is very cozy and all of the fair will not disappoint, the Black Ink pasta is magnificent, Monk fish is so tasty to discuss a few. It's like going to Nona's house. You cannot go wrong with the Antipasto as a starter. Everyone dining here is always smiles.
They don’t make them like this anymore. Great service, small business feel, INCREDIBLE prices for the quality. Have lived in New York for five years and feel lucky to know this place. I wouldn’t come with a group of 12 friends for brunch, but it’s a place to come with people with whom you love to share an intimate and delicious meal.
Food was fine. Nothing to write home about Wine was not what we ordered - supposedly an Italian wine but from chile. Lamest, weakest Cabernet I’ve ever had. They didn’t do anything about it when I asked.

While in NYC we tried this place, and two days later, we went back again. I can't stress enough how fantastic this restaurant is! Food, service, atmosphere, and PRICING! We were blown away by the more-than-fair prices, particularly in a city not known for thriftiness. This is a real gem among the many great selections on Bleecker St.
I've been dining here for over 15 years and the same wait staff still work their magic. The three mushroom risotto is amazing. You can't go wrong with their specials. Lobster ravioli, seafood lasagna, tortelloni... We return here for every anniversary. Don't bring more than three people here. Quiet, romantic, dimly lit atmosphere.
The place continues to amaze me with their authentic Italian dishes. I ordered the veal parmesan and my date ordered the Lobster ravioli with pasta. So friendly to my tastebuds. The combination of the good food, great company, and wonderful ambience; even with outdoor dining, had me smiling all night long. I'm coming back again!
Excellent food and service! Waiters were so attentive and the owner made us feel very welcomed. The baked clams were an amazing appetizer and I will definitely be coming back for more of the homemade lobster ravioli. Overall amazing food and experience, a must try in the city!

Food was Excellent! This such a cozy authentic Italian restaurant. I stumbled upon it and just wanted to try the pasta. They made my favorite vodka chicken penne and it wasn't even on the menu! I just told the waiter what I liked. It was cooked to perfection! Prices are reasonable and the service is excellent. My new fav!
Old-time Italian Restaurant. Decor what you would expect from an Old-time Italian restaurant! Ambience and service are very good though - not loud (and not many tables). Ordered the antipasto appetizer and that was good. Also ordered the File of Sole Oreganata dish and that was superb - so flavorful. Worth a visit.
Absolutely delicious food! We loved our dinners. Vegetarian option were great, penne with vegetables, risotto wuth mushrooms, caprese salad, all divine. Its like eating in Italy but maybe better! Great staff, attentive service. Loved it!

Grubhub's *pictures* are terrible and cursed, but this place is great! Prices are reasonable, the portions on the antipasto della casa are outrageous! I saw a picture from 5 years ago and it's the same deal now Generous portions, good comforting food on a cold winter night! Thank you!

Delicious, simple, straightforward Italian cuisine. Tasty fresh vegetable antipasto, wonderfully prepared pastas, and fresh fish simply done. This is the place for authentic Italian food that's not prepared by a TV chef. Been coming here for years and I highly recommend it for non-pretencious tasty fare.
The ambience was the highlight. A perfect little Italian spot in a quaint part of town. I ordered a stuffed artichoke, pasta fagiole, and the house Chianti. Unfortunately, I found the food to be quite soggy and under seasoned. I hope I just ordered the wrong things because it’s a great spot otherwise.
Great food! My girlfriend and I split the swordfish and calamari-ink linguini, and both were out-of-this-world delicious! It was very crowded, though, even late at night. There may not be enough room to move around if you have trouble wriggling through tight spaces. I recommend a reservation.
I loved the cozy, warm, dimly lit atmosphere at Pesce Pasta. It made for a wonderfully intimate dining experience while I savored the grilled sword fish dressed with fresh tomatoes, sauteed scarola with garlic and pesto pasta. It was a delight. I highly recommend it when in the West Village.
I think this might be our favorite spot to eat. The food is what really stands out and makes this place special, it's not an elaborate place but its quaint and warm. The staff is friendly and service is on point.

Very cute. Stumbled in time avoid the heatwave. Had a wonderful waiter. Ordered the fettuccine with shrimp and mushrooms and it was homemade and delicious. I make my own pasta and am Italian and approved highly of my dish. Bread and app was mesh. Pasta to die for. Atmosphere was perfecto.
I went there specifically for their black ink squid pasts and got exactly what I was looking for. It was done perfectly and tasted delicious. The wait staff are very attentive and the food arrived fast. One of the great Italian dining establishment in the Greenwich Village neighborhood.
Nice ambience which is why the 2 stars were given. No stars for the food, the chicken special didn’t taste good. Tiramisu was okay but nothing special. Staff was unfriendly except for the main manager.

The best Lobster Raviolli I have ever had. This place was small quiet. The staff was quick and friendly. My wife and I were there on our honeymoon. I would recommend anyone and everyone to come and eat, have a bottle of wine and enjoy one of the most romantic evenings ever!
Great Italian seafood restaurant I’ve been going to for 15 years. The owner is always there which makes her great dining experince. The only restaurant that has seafood lasagna which is spectacular and so is there a grilled seafood and their pasta dishes. Highly recommend.
Found this place after our original choice was closed for the night. Such a great little restaurant. The lobster ravioli was amazing. My only complaint is that the staff seemed highly distracted by pride going on outside instead of paying closer attention to their tables.
I placed an order through ubber eats. Requested utensils, we didn't even get a napkin. The risotto was dry and tasteless so bland. Worst Italian food I've ever ate and it's not cheap.

I enjoyed the fresh fish, good service and creative cuisine. I hadn't been in the West Village for a year and was pleased to see the Trattoria is open for dine - in service. Our servers were friendly, patient, knowledgeable and attentive. I will return again.
