I’m truly happy that I found this tour. This experience is a MUST good Anyone traveling to New Orleans who wants to learn the real truth and history of the areas and people. Especially if you want to experience REAL Nawlins cuisine and not the tourist traps owned by ppl who aren’t real natives. I’ve been to New Orleans countless times but never have I experienced a tour like this. Hollis made sure that he educated me and my children on the amazing history of the city, wards, after effects of Katrina and more. To make it better, he brought us to an amazing restaurant that served the best lamb breakfast I’ve ever had! We couldn’t leave without ordering some to take home. Excellent tour with Hollis! He is extremely knowledgeable about Treme and Nee Orleans. I went on another tour of NOLA that gave general information but Hollis provided the true experience of the culture and community. Provided excellent communication prior to pickup. He ensured we felt safe and welcomed in his community. Had cocktails with moveable bar tender business and delicious meal. Loved being able to support the African American small businesses in the community. Please do this tour , you must go beyond the French Quarter to really experience New Orleans. If you are visiting New Orleans and just spending time in the French Quarter, you are missing out on such a big part of the history and culture of the city. Going around with Hollis learning about the history of Treme was definitely a highlight of our trip. Getting first hand knowledge from someone who has dedicated their life to ensuring these stories are passed on to the next generation is priceless. Even my two young kids walked away with a different perspective of the city. If I could spend the whole day just learning from him, I would. You won’t regret taking this tour.

Hollis was such an incredible tour guide - super knowledgeable, amiable and humorous! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing NOLA through the eyes of a local who was born and raised in the area especially since most standard NOLA tours wouldn’t have offered the same commentary or insider’s perspective. Take this tour!!!! Hollis is a great communicator and planning the tour was easy via Instagram. He is born and raised in the city; he is knowledgeable and has lived this city’s history. Every tourist needs to hear what he has to say… don’t take the other tours you find online or in French Quartee. For the price (pretty much he works on donations so be fair to him. He’s amazing!) compared to other tours, he is so reasonable. He customizes tours too and has great food recommendations.

An enlightening experience. We picked the Tremé tour. Mr. Hollis (a New Orleans native who grew up in Tremé) is very knowledgeable and passionate about the community, well-being, and history of New Orleans and its black community. Super cool Vibe a-lot of walking, a great cool feast gif your eyes and senses. Lots of flowers, cool stores, art, weird shops. Beautiful ironwork on the buildings and and balconies, festooned with flowers and some weird half body manikins on the high balconies. Something cool to see on each block and street.
