* I apologize for the long story in advance. I just want to share what I went through, with the hopes of helping someone else avoid the nightmare that is this company* When I first started looking in to moving across country (from Newmarket, ON to Edmonton, Ab) I was going to just rent a Uhaul and take me stuff myself. The quote from uhaul was approx the same as from trillium. Most other movers were a considerable amount more. So I figure, why not save myself the hassle, especially with no assistance on the other end with unloading. I spoke with I believe her name was Kate, who claimed to be the manager. She assured me that the quote I received was what I would be charged (dependent on the weight, she was sure to emphasize that, which should have triggered suspicion) and there would be no hidden fees. I was also told that it should take 7 days (consecutive, not business days) for our stuff to arrive at our new home. My family and I packed everything ourself. Wrapped what needed wrapped, all of our belongings were properly protected for a cross county trip. We even had everything stacked neatly in the garage so that loading would take a matter of minutes. I weighted our stuff prior to loading and had asked that they email me a copy of the scale ticket as soon as it was weighed at their warehouse. Before pick up, the company, and Kate in particular was in constant contact with me. Doing her best to make it seem like she actually cared. After pick up, zero contact. I never received the scale ticket, no follow up call or email from her to ensure the pick up went smoothly, nothing. Whatever. Flew to Edmonton and waited the 7 days for our stuff to arrive. On the 8th day of living with no furniture I called Kate. No answer. I emailed, no response. Called again from a different phone and miraculously she answered. When I asked where our belongings were, I was informed that it would be an additional TWO WEEKS! I asked why and what happened to the 7 days that I was told, she tried to tell me that she never said that. Two problems there. Number one, she forgot that she didn't tell me over the phone, it was in an email. Number 2, I've driven across country more times than I can count. Even following commercial driving laws, it shouldn't take more than 7 days. In fact it should take 4 driving 10 hours a day. I digress. Furthermore, when I asked about the scale ticket...lets just say I almost had a heart attack. My quote was for $1500 approx for the amount of weight that I had. She told me the amount owing was $4600!!! Over 250% of the original quote??? I told her I was not paying that, and that I had weighed it myself prior to loading. She had the nerve to tell me that they would keep my stuff. Which in reality they have been doing all along. Because she let it slip that it hadn't even left Mississauga yet. After 8 days. Regardless, after 3 weeks of waiting, our belongings arrived. The bill had not changed and they would not unload until it was paid in full. Called her again and told her that I had contacted the BBB and a lawyer, miraculously she had a new scale ticket and the total was now $2500. Weight was closer to my number but numerous extra charges for 'packing materials' and charges for stairs. Remember folks, I packed it myself and had it piled in a garage. All packing materials were already supplied by me, and No stairs on that end and they hadn't unloaded in the new place. Even if they had how did she have a bill stating that when they had JUST arrived?? I paid that because I needed my things. And that is how they get you. They hold your stuff hostage. After unpacking I also noticed numerous pieces of furniture damaged and some artwork missing. Please for the love of god stay away from these crooks.
If I could give this "moving" company a NEGATIVE rating I would, considering they are NOT an actually moving company they are a dispatch company that hires other companies to more your things for them. Right from the get go I should have noticed the red flags, they seemed to be kind and greatly priced once I said I would hire them to be my moving company it all went down hill from there. Not only was it impossible to get ahold of my customer service rep, but when it came down to actually having a dispute and told her I was tired of the nonsense and wanted to make a complaint she told me this was not necessary and did not give me the information of her manager until I insisted once again. Once I finally got ahold of their so called "manager" I figured things would work out, boy was I mistaken. Not only did I waste numerous time and patience with this woman, they have now also wasted my money. I could send this woman 3 emails before she would get back to me and trying to get ahold of someone in the office in nearly impossible as they seem to ALWAYS be "out." After all the issues I have had with this company I have not been given a single apology, or explanation as why they seem to utterly incompetent and rude. A move that would have cost me 3000$ with any other moving company has now cost me 4500$ and did I mention I still haven't received my items. As of tomorrow I "should" have my items finally after being almost half a month late, and I will be posting pictures as I can already assume there will be damage and missing items as they continue to astound me with their incompetence. Not only is Trillium moving the worst company to do business with, the actual movers they hire are beyond rude and always late. They give you a 4 hour window to when they will arrive and still cant even manage to be on time. First time they showed up they were an hour late after the window they had given us, the second time they were 2 hours later after the window they had given us, so I expect nothing less when they arrive tomorrow. No only were they late both times but when they did arrive they did not give us an explanation as to why or a single apology, not only this but they were extremely rude when they spoke to us and took no care when moving our items. I will be posting more after they show up AGAIN tomorrow, but I would like to reiterate Trillum Moving is the WORST company you could ever chose to move your belonging. If you care about your belongings, time, money and patience DO NOT use this company and inform anyone you know who will be moving to do the same as I will be with all of my friends and family.
I would never hire these movers again or recommend them to anyone. Of the 3 movers that came to our house 2 of them couldn't speak any English or read English as they put my boxes labeled china and fragile at the bottom and I kept having to ask them to move them because they are fragile - common sense to me, fragile items go on top! They were extremely rough with our belongings by dragging things that should have been carried and they didn't put down anything to protect the carpet. They smashed the dolly up and down the stairs inside the house and the stairs leading up to our front door resulting in scuffs on the concrete. They were not careful with the walls and left many marks and dents that I had to spend hours trying to clean afterwards. They also broke a vase I had on my dining room table and tried to hide it by putting the broken glass in the corner. My husband wanted a photo of all of our stuff on the back of the truck and the guy in charge (didn't know english) started yelling at him for no reason. The person who spoke english came over to translate that "no photos are allowed becasue they are professional movers". You have GOT to be kidding me!! My husband took photos anyway, we did not trust these people with our stuff but by then it was too late, most of it was on the truck and we had to meet a deadline to move. If I had the choice I would have told them to stop right there, take our stuff off the truck and we would have hired someone else. Once our stuff arrived many items were missing and damaged. My kitchen table (solid wood) had broken pieces off wood off the bottom - I don't even know how that happens - and many scratches to the surface. They even used sharpie marker to write on our daughter's white bed set. Clearly these people do not care. They also over-charged us to the tune of $3000 and said it was because we were over weight yet they would not and still have not provided proof of weight. They keep giving us the run-around with the scale ticket and the inventory list they were supposed to provide and when we call or email they say that they are looking for it or they just outright avoid the question. I feel like because we were forced to pay (or else they would hold our items hostage) they just simply don't care because now they have our money. We are in the process of making a claim for damages with their company and seeking legal advice from a lawyer for the over charge. Whatever you do DO NOT hire these people, they are horrible and have no clue what they are doing.
Please avoid this company at all costs!!!! They will bring nothing but hardship to your life. Issues include but are not limited to: - Rescheduling the delivery at the very end of the business day right before the delivery was scheduled the next morning. - Being insulted and called a liar by dispatchers for telling them that they had indeed given me a window of time for the delivery. - Provided a price at that time that was greatly more then had been quoted. - Threatened to withhold my goods and insinuated that damage would be done if they had to hold onto it any longer then the planned delivery time. - Delivered the goods late even after changing the delivery time. - Broke several items and tried to hide them upon delivery to go along with there being missing items. - Did not provide any paperwork whatsoever upon delivery. - When receipts were finally provided more then a week later they showed charges for storage even though the shipment was never stored and free storage was promised. - When I weighed my goods at home I found there to be a weight discrepancy of 1000 lbs from the phony scale ticket that was provided. - Informed me that they could do nothing because if I wanted I could have gotten a rescale even though I found out the weight the day before delivery. Then was told that the shipment had already left, there was no way to get it back to the dispatching place, and no way to change the delivery without charging me more. How then was I going to get a rescale? - Gave limited recourse for all issues and were unwilling to be reasonable in making amends for there actions during the move. - Provided minimal to no reimbursement for all of the damaged goods simply saying that I was getting out ahead by not having to pay the deductible. Truly a horrible experience in which I was scammed for more then $500.00 in faulty scale weights. Much damage to goods. Frank disregard for clients even though they are a so called "family company". Do not use this company. Do not hire them even if they seem good to start. This is a ploy and as soon as the goods are picked up the good service ends because they know they can hold your goods for ransom. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS
This company moved our household goods from Calgary to Windsor via Toronto with a month of storage. The total payment to them was about $4000 less than the quotes from the National companies for the same total weight of the shipment. However, this company does not stand by their guarantees and normal responsibility for the condition of the goods and insurance to cover the items. A large framed artwork was stolen from the shipment somewhere along the line of their transfers of goods or in their storage facility. The art piece is worth about $3500 and they have made no attempt to make an insurance claim or to get back to me to discuss what they are going to do about it. Other than that, the contractors they use were OK, but they charge a lot of extras for any packing materials or time spent packing pictures and other stuff that you have not already done. You have to have every last item packed and ready in order to get the discounted rate they are offering in the estimate. Additionally, the original estimate was ridiculously low, but I checked the actual weight (from Allieds' estimate) and multiplied by Trillium's cost per pound to come up with about $10,000 estimated cost. The actual total demanded (before delivery of your goods) was $12,500 and with the stolen piece of artwork the actual cost to me was $16,000 which is about what Allied and others were quoting right from the start. So there was no actual cost savings using Trillium and nobody stood by their claims of an insured shipment. In fact the customer service people avoided calling be back about the stolen piece and I had to keep hounding them. They did not seem too concerned that someone in their organisation is a basic criminal. Eventually I gave up calling them and they figure I can't afford to take them to court... they may be correct on that issue. So, I would not recommend using this outfit as it was generally a great disappointment in business relations and I lost a unique and irreplaceable piece of artwork during their moving process.
I am giving 2 star because although service is mediocre at best, I got all my stuff without getting lost. I am happy about that. I want to acknowledge the hard work of people. Also, there was a billing error regarding additional warehouse charges. Issue was fixed without delay by the customer service who acted on my email request for help. Caution: 1. I was served by contracted movers working on behalf of Trillium 2. It was confusing for me as to when my stuff would be delivered. The invoice did not capture this clearly 3. The final bill was about 40% more. Quote price for moving 11 medium boxes, 4 large suitcases, 4 large boxes, queen mattress was $770 4. There seems to be a $375 deductible for lost luggage 5. The paper agreement says 'Declared Value' as ‘Declined’ if you do not talk about value of the move with the company before move date 6. There might be a Pick up and Destination Fee – mine came to about $275 (included in quote) 7. They charge a scale fee of $45 (included in quote) 8. The window of waiting for movers to arrive is large 3-5 hours. I was moving after office hours and there was no contact between the contracted movers and myself. They came when they came. Caused a lot of rescheduling and heartburn Conclusion: I think I should have had Trillium come before the move to give me an actual paper quote after a visual survey of my stuff. Also, I don’t believe there was any cost advantage for me, in the end, when comparing Trillium with other established movers. Perhaps, the move would have been hassle free and cheaper if movers have their own truck and staff to move. Multiple hand-off seems to have increases costs and decreased transparency.
This moving company is a scam. They assure that everything will be delivered to your doorstep safe and as is when you book them but its just a big fat lie..my mother is old and she trusted them with all her belongings. They were so nice and sweet talking her. I was still iffy about them so i had numbered all 28 boxes in the inside so it wasn't visible to the movers/helpers. I also had a notebook made for my mom of what items went into what number of box. So 2 and a half weeks later she received the boxes because she was moving from Ottawa to Calgary, they rushed in all the boxes and left with the payment so quick my mom had no time to go through them to see if she is missing anything. Couple days after she is setting up her new room and unboxing and she notices that her expensive and all branded perfumes, bags, clothes and knit wears are missing and we are talking about over 12g worth of items. she called them and kept calling for days and so did i. I tried getting a hold of the person in charge and all they had to say to me was that they're sorry for the inconvenience and that the best they can do is send me an email with a form that i would need to fill up for my mom to get a reimbursement which is by the way not a guarantee. I went ahead and filled out all the forms and went through all the trouble and all we got back was $200 for all the loss. Thats just stupid and it gets worse because when you try and call them back, the person you spoke to is super busy that he cant even answer our calls back for weeks. what does that tell you about this moving company???
My move was a total disaster. I phoned Trillium and asked when the movers would arrive. I was advised that I would receive a call the day before my move with a time of arrival. Sure enough the day before I received a call from the dispatcher I was told that the movers would arrive around 2:00 pm. I was not happy with that and told the dispatcher that, he said they had one delivery to make before picking up my stuff. That was a lie, they did 2 full moves before coming to my place. They arrived at 9:30 pm. We were told that the movers had not been to sleep in 2 days so they went to a hotel for the night. The next morning they showed up at around 8:00 am loaded the truck. I had to rent a UHaul as my stuff would not all fit on the moving truck. The movers refused to help load the UHaul and left. I was told the delivery would be done that day. Wrong again my stuff was taken to the warehouse in Calgary and was not delivered until the next day. I found out from the movers that delivered the stuff that it is standard company policy to help load and drive the UHaul if one is required. So I guess these guys don't even follow their own policies. I phoned and complained about the treatment I received. The person I spoke to, Anne told me she would refund the 3% they charged me for paying with a Visa, that was another lie. If you are looking for a moving company avoid these guys like the plague!
Horrible service and they find many ways to overcharge! When packing our stuff they used packing materials that we were not told were required and charged us $180 for them. Once our stuff left our home to cross the country it took them weeks to let us know what our weight was and eventually when they did it was double than what we were quoted. There is no way to actually check on what your items actually weigh. All our items were stored in Ontario until a truck became available to bring them to Halifax, weeks after our items were needed. They did not inform us that they would be storing our items in another province even though destination was Nova Scotia. When asking questions about our shipment we never received a response without asking 3 or more times. Our stuff was picked up in BC on October 4th, we requested it delivered in Halifax for October 28th and we did not receive until November 18th. Once it finally arrived to our storage unit we were told we had to pay more because the movers had to move it more than 100 feet from their truck, in a straight storage unit hallway with ample space, another $180 charge. They also tried to charge us for extra storage in Ontario even though they wouldn't deliver our stuff at an earlier date, we at least beat this charge. Do not use this company it will cause you severe stress and tons of money. Stay away!
LIke many people have stated already, this company has little to no respect for your belongings or your time. They are incredibly difficult to get ahold of during the transportation time and are incompetent to answer questions of scheduled delivery times, costs, or the location of your goods. They lack respect for you as a customer and do not see you as moe than an easy profit. Their scheduled delivery was over a week late and no apology or compensation was offered or given. When they were packing my goods on the inventory list they had marked all of the items as being previous 'nicked, scratched, or chipped'. All of my belongs are in very good condition - many of them being new. This was them removing liability for any new damages and rendering my claims useless. I had to make multiple phone calls to get ahold of them, going as far as calling from different numbers due to them screening my calls. I would urge anyone planning a move to avoid this company. Although their quotes are cheaper and initially friendly, their services are far below parr. What should have been a very easy and relaxed move was turned into a stressful and emotional experience. Trillium Moving is an indecent and dishonourable company.
***IF YOU ARE THINKING OF USING THIS COMPANY, DON'T!!! My husband and I had the great misfortune of using Trillium to move. Firstly, their initial "estimate" that they provide you is not even close to what you will end up paying. I paid several hundred dollars above what I was originally quoted. Just read the other reviews and you'll see this is a trend with this company. Secondly, they damaged our furniture to the point where we cannot use our desk anymore. It's literally broken in half. Our TV stand no longer sits flush. Our dining table is now scratched up. We were offered $30 for all this damage. Thirdly, in order to get a response, we had to get the Better Business Bureau involved, as numerous phone calls and emails when unanswered after waiting almost 2 months for a response. This company's business practices and accountability for damages caused is beyond reprehensible. It's nothing short of disgusting. The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because I can't post without providing some sort of star rating. I would have otherwise given them 0 stars. Please save yourself the headache, money, and stress....find another company.
Overall, not bad. Could be better, but I'll explain. So the drivers were magnificent. On both my receiving end in Edmonton Alberta, and delivery in Port Stanley Ontario. They gave me a timeframe to wait for them and they arrived at the start of the appointed time. I had only used cardboard for protecting my televisions, so the movers provided blankets for an additional cost, and disclosed that to me right away. No mess, no floor scuffs, overall highly professional. My issue, however, was with the office staff. For one, make sure you check the shipping date, because my stuff was held for 9 days in Edmonton where I was charged for storage that I was unaware of. Two, when they say it will take twelve days to move it across the country, they mean twelve business days, so be aware that their drivers do not operate during the weekend. They were unable to even give me an estimated location on my items when I called, simply telling me that they were "in transit" which was annoying. The cost quoted was 1069 plus 150 to move my toolboxes, but final cost at the end was 1420. So just make sure you estimate high. Otherwise good experience.
I give two stars because most of my stuff made the trip from Winnipeg to Ottawa. Unfortunately I wanted, and had expected, all of my stuff to make. Dealing with this company was a hassle from the second they got my things loaded into their truck. The final price was double what they quoted for a one bedroom apartment. On top of that there were at least two unaccounted for boxes (actually one box and a bag) and my vacuum. When they came to drop off the items they unloaded a chair that wasn't mine, which I quickly pointed out to them. I called them immediately when I noticed items were missing (the bag and vacuum were to easy to spot) and they sent me the paperwork to file a claim. I told them that I wanted the items and asked them to contact the truck and they told me that they could check their warehouse but that the truck had already left to the next location. I followed up by email no less than three times after asking if there was any luck locating my items. They would apologize, tell me they would contact the warehouse and message me when they had a reply and I never heard from them again. I do not recommend.
we had such a horrible experience with this company back in October. first we had problem with scaling. first they came with 3260lbs, but we didn't accept it and told them that we will rescaling once we received our items and will legally follow the case. and asked them to send us the scaling ticket. they refused to send it to us but they came with new scaling . this time was 2340lbs. it seems they just switched the first two digits!!. funny. Anyway we had waited for a long time so we just wanted to receive our furniture, so we accepted the new scaling even though we knew it's not accurate either. finally we received our delivery after 3 weeks patiently waiting! our furniture were damaged. even though they had charged us for the plastic wraps, all the wraps was ripped off, and the wooden part was broken. our china was all broken , It seems someone just dropped its box on purpose!. we claimed our damage and after 2 months waiting, they said they will pay us $75!!!they caused over $5000 damages and I don't know how they came up with $75 idea!!!. Don't EVER try this company or you regret.
THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. The quote was double the final price. They charged base on the weight of items, but they do not weight the items infront of you so there is no way for you to confirm/deny the final weight/cost. The movers were suppose to show up between a time frame of 12-4pm. They showed up after 5pm, which caused me to miss the elevator I had to pay to book. My furniture was taken to a storage facility and delivered the next day. When I finally received my furniture it was servery damaged. I had a wooden table set and they broke 2 of the 4 chairs. They wrapped the 2 broken chairs in bubble wrap so that i would not notice until they were gone and I started unpacking. The chair legs were broken and the movers attempted to fix them by putting nails and wood glue. The set was valued at $500 meaning that each chair was atleast $100 each. I filled out a claims form provided pictures. The processing time for a claim is 4-6weeks. It took 8-9 weeks to get a response about my claim. They offered me $20 for everything.
Two movers showed up, one of them being extremely rude. They damaged my floors and furniture by not handling my furniture properly ! Then even tried to cover up broken items by stacking them in the back so I wouldn't notice ... Apparently when you reply to an e-mail when you originally hire them you agree to a certain insurance policy that will give you NOTHING ! "Claims Departement" took 6 weeks to get back to me- and to make it worse they had everything written down incorrectly. So I had to wait an additional 3 weeks for another response which they screwed up AGAIN!!! I had proof ( original receipts, pictures and even signatures from the movers ) about some broken items and I still didn't receive ANYTHING ! They even made me pay more than originally quoted for the move ! Very terrible customer service !! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I will be speaking out the owner and will not let them get away with this ! I have $4300 in damages and have been offered nothing !!!
The service is here is horrible find another company if your looking to book for moving services. They make no exceptions or look out for the customers interest. I booked in more then a month in advance for a service for a long distance move. They take a deposit contacted them to see if they could provide an exception of the circumstance as I found out later that my moving costs are covered through work. I emailed them called them no one there knows anything about providing a legitimate service. Never mentioned a credit for another date to use their services, no consideration on working people how many hrs does it take to work for a paycheck that is 200 dollars. Don't book with them they are USA based makes sense on the horrible service. The trucks are individually owned by this company and they give you this explanation that they have to book their own trucks. Bunch of lies, company has no ethics.
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. The day leading up to my move, the company seemed professional and accommodating. The rep told me the movers would arrive between 11-1pm on the Sunday. They never showed up and pushed my move hour by hour. I emphasized that I had a flight to catch and a hotel stay book. By 8pm they had still not arrived and said it would still be a few more hours. At that point I asked to move my appointment to the next day and was told they would show up at 6am. After waking up at 4:30am to prepare for their arrival - NO ONE SHOWED UP. I called several times and they ignored all of my calls. Unbelievable. Not only did I lose a ton of money missing my flight and hotel room, but when I spoke with the head office there was NO APOLOGY and the rep did not show one ounce of remorse - a total slap in the face. Moving is stressful enough. If you use trillium moving your move will be 1000x worse.
Their initial estimation is was much much more than the real shipment weight. They don't provide you with the real shipment weight and they charge you based on their initial estimation which is called "minimum weight/ minimum charge"! they are too DISorganized! They get back to too late! every time you call, someone gives you a different answer about your scheduled and shipment! once they got back to me a week later after calling many times, asking them to please let a person assigned to my account answer my emails!!! They rescheduled my pickup on the same day!!!!! and after calling more than 10times, one month in advanced, asking them to please deliver my items in a time window of 3 hours, they did not! Funny thing! they tell you your shipment was lower than our estimation, but, that is what it is! and we dont EVEN provide you with the actual weight! NEVER EVER move with Trillium!
Very satisfied with the service and performance of these folks. Great service from the pick up crew. They worked over time and got it done. We had much more then we originally estimated and I was still packing on the morning of the move. They were kind enough to help and we were able to finish a little bit after 2 am. They hardly even took any breaks. As for the delivery, that was a bit easier, as most of the bigger items were being delivered into the barn and that was an easy offload. The delivery didn't take nearly as long as the loading. We had a bench that was a bit damaged and a bookshelf that is missing one of the parts. Other then that on our almost 19,000 lbs, we were sincerely satisfied. Great appreciation to Kate who took care of our move and Lisa. Loved to feel like they were part of our moving family as well. Will make sure to put a Christmas Card in the mail for them.
Very VERY poor customer service. There is hardly any integrity with this company. The two gentlemen who picked up my stuff, were rude, disengaging and were not clear at all when answering my questions. if they answered at all. If that service wasn't infuriating enough I have been waiting for weeks to receive my stuff, including my one of a kind personal art works and everything else i hold dear. They say they will get in touch with you, and they never do. So for weeks i have been calling and asking and getting pretty much no answers. I feel cast aside, as if my business, myself and my stuff have no value. I have never been treated so poorly. I don't know what this company is all about, but its customer serve is lacking, and i will never trust them again with a move. Here is hoping y stuff is all delivered safely soon. Not impressed.
Their rep was very quick to setup an appointment and offered me the best package that suited my requirements. He was very responsive and attentive and al very informative. He clearly explained what should I expect and how far they can go. They padded all my furniture nicely, took great care of the valuables and breakables and completed the loading without a hitch. Delivery was made within the allotted time nothing was damaged or broken, not even a glass!! And I paid less than the estimated amount which was great. In the end, I got a very good service within my budget and allotted time. They paid total attention to what they were doing, making sure not to damage my stuff, the walls of the apartment I was moving out of, and the property that I was moving into. Their rates are very competitive, Thank you so much God Bless!
Has to be the worst moving experience ever! Do not use this company. The move date was set and a phone call was promised prior to arrival, the call came 1/2hour before arrival. 3 week wait for small shipment to arrive with no final price after 6 phone calls final invoice arrived via email. Surcharge to use credit card, bank draft only other method of payment. Once the shipment arrived was informed that a surcharge was needed due to first floor of an apartment not being disclosed, held ransom for a 150,00 tip in order to get my belongings. 75% of the shipment damaged and we received a box that doesn't belong to us, The company pays 40 cents per lb for damage but i have not heard from them in over 6 weeks. There should be a law against companies like this still being in business absolutely horrendous service.
DONT DO IT!!!! This is not the renovals company you are looking for. They are sly, rude, late, uninterested scam artist. My stuff was late by 2 weeks near enough. I was quoted 4 different prices each one higher than the last, even if you only have a small amount of stuff to move the minimum weight charge will get you and its basically whatever they decide it is. Found some stuff was damaged but honestly after dealing with them im really not suprised. I really wish i had checked the reviews first its obviously not just me they have screwed over. The arrival date they give isnt actually your arrival date, that comes much later and they wont say when so cross your fingers on that one. Take 5 minuets to give your head a shake then look elsewhere.
Recently employed this company. My fee was more than twice the estimate with no proof provided of how much my possessions actually way (weight ticket) and when asked for a breakdown of costs, because they still didn't add up, I've received nothing. I'm leaving this review because I received my belongings, but they were burnt, water damaged, covered in soot, and everything that was in a box has been repackaged. There clearly was a fire at their warehouse, something they didn't take the time to inform me about. Literally everything I own is ruined. Couch cushions, AC melted, pictures smashed. They delivered a clothing box and everything inside is burned. I'd be livid if I wasn't numb. I'll update with any developments.
DO NOT USES THESE MOVERS IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS!!! They destroyed my belongings having my mattress, TV and boxes of good china sitting in standing water for the 20 days they had my stuff because my closing dates didn't work out. They smashed all my dishes that I had clearly written FRAGILE - GOOD CHINA many times on each box. The charged me for wrapping my good furniture and still managed to scrape the edges of each piece so they need professional touch up work. oh and their truck said Troy Transportation on the side. when I asked about it they said they just bought the truck and didn't have time to change the name yet. Note: I had to give a start rating in order to post a comment - it should read -2000
Avoid this company like the plague! They are cheaper than the rest for good reason. I learned the hard way you get what you pay for. We moved from Montreal to Airdrie Alberta. The crew that loaded was the only good thing of the entire move. Never supplied me with a scale ticket. Upped the weight. There was more furniture damaged than was not and only had to pay to take it to the dump. The amount of issues with these guys are to numerous to list and not worth any more of my time. You will want to look long and hard at these guys before you put the trust of your hard earned money and good in their hands trust me. It is disgusting that companies like this get away with this garbage.
We moved from PEI to Alberta and had a wonderful move with Trillium Moving. I am happy to say that everything went as planned. We moved a large household with packing services provided by the company. It was originally arranged by my wife who contacted the movers, but I was the one at both ends. Great work from very hard working team. We didnt want to hire the cheapest but wanted to stay within budget. Trillium was very reasonable and packing services makes sense so we didnt have to stress about it before moving day. The crew worked very hard and wrapped and packed everything non stop. I would not hesitate to recommend them and offer myself as reference for these movers.
Trillium Moving many thanks for a personal touch and great service! We had relocated from Germany and our goods arrived to the Montreal port where Trillium Moving was hired to pick up the goods from a container and deliver it Toronto. Everything was going as planned except that our house fell through at the last minute. Trillium quickly had another plan and were able to accommodate last minute extra truck and storage units. When we were actually ready to accept delivery we were happy to see our goods and the crew. Many thanks to Kate and Chloe who were just wonderful to deal with. Also, the guys Mark and Harry thanks to you as well. B. Lei
I would avoid using this company. I used them a couple years ago to move from Toronto- Calgary, was never given a scaling ticket on the weight of my belongings (to know how much I would be charged) and told they would arrive in a couple weeks. They were 6 weeks late and my belongings were damaged. Once the movers arrived, they then wanted to charge me for the distance they had to park away from the loading doc (this was never mentioned prior to me) because of the "inconvenience." Overall it was a very poor experience. Do your research on companies before hand, that's really where I fell short in making my decision.
I wish I had read these reviews before shipping with Trillium. I shipped from BC to NS and throughout the process the company has been vague about when I might expect the goods to arrive. First I was told 10 days, and then 14 + days, and now it has been nearly a month and I am still waiting for my things. When I called the company to address this, the relocation planner was passive aggressive, and belittling. She did not respond to my concerns. I don't think that it is unreasonable to expect a company to be able to tell it's customers up front what to expect when using their services.... Don't ship with Trillium.
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST TRANSACTION ive made in life. I was quoted $900 charged 3300. $700 was in hidden charges. Not only did they wreck my white leather coaches they lost serveral boxes of items. My purses were all missing. I happen to see a pair of my sneakers on let go.. (Unique) purchased outside the country. The manager has zero customer service skills and was blatently disrespectful to me over the phone. U will regret giving this company your business. Also research what other names they go by... One big scam. Good luck
Our international move from On Canada to upper east side Nyc was a stress free move with a supper friendly service. Trillium were recommend by our broker and we are very happy to choose them. I was extremely pleased with the service that I received They were on time, polite, fast, and made moving actually pretty fun. realy Awesome!! Very professional and I moved from a 5th floor to a 3th floor, they never complained or stopped working!! Would definitely recommend and call again!!!
I wish I could give Trillium Moving & Storage a NEGATIVE star rating. It's bad enough that we were charged 3 times the quoted price but they purposely destroyed many of our possessions - items obviously thrown around, locked filing cabinet pried open, boxes opened and packing material removed!!! Who takes the time to do this just because their angry that we asked for a new weighing?! This company shows absolute NO respect for its customers or their prized possessions. Shame.
Trillium Moving & Storage moved our house. Anne was amazing to deal with the set up our move and we couldn't say enough about the 2 men who came to move our stuff. My husband hurt his back that morning and was completely out of commission we were thankful we had hired this company. They worked so hard and cared so much for our belongings! I will recommend this company! If we ever move again (fingers crossed we never do) we will contact them again!!
Don't even bother with this company. They did $4000 in damage and, even though I had bought insurance protection for my belongings (which cost $200), when it came time to compensate me, only offered $75. So unprofessional...didnt care about the damage at all. And my gorgeous heirloom roll top desk is completely ruined, broken into multiple parts. I'm gutted.
DO NOT USE TRILLIUM. COST 3 TIMES THE AMOUNT, BROKEN AND MISSING FURNITURE. We will never use another moving company again, this was the worst experience my family has gone through for a long time. Maybe the way they treat people is ok in their country, but not in Canada . Very disappointing, Very deceitful, Unbelievably unhappy customers.
I'm a single mom who moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia via this company. I was devastated to have been charged nearly $800 more than expected!!! Not to mention some of our very sentimental items were broken beyond repair. This company is horrible. So friendly and accommodating in the beginning. Not at all in the end
They were was great; Great care moving my furniture; crew had a great attitude they arrived on time, worked hard the whole time and were very gentle with all my items and very professional. They came in faster and cheaper than their maximum quote. I would recommend them to anyone.
We moved our stuff from Brampton to Vancouver. Trillium offered excellent service and with a very professional approach. All goods were received in proper condition with no damage. Thanks trillium for making our move much easier.
