THE BACKGROUND Truly You had a BIG challenge ahead of them when I called and they rose to it! You see, my sister-in-law had only been diagnosed with cancer 3 weeks before and was on the fast track to start chemo within weeks. As we didn’t have the luxury to perform our usual full out due diligence on-line, learning all we possibly could about wigs and decided our time might be better spent going direct to an expert to learn and buy from. Unfortunately for us we didn’t start at Truly You that day, leaving us (to say the least) incredibly discourage and in a vulnerable emotional state from the previous experience. I was very frustrated and said she deserved better,... and you know what she said? ”It’s ok. I’ll put up with what I have to hopefully get what I want in the end”. Come on. Does this sound like something a woman facing life-altering health challenges and obstacles (who is willing to pay what is needed JUST to look like herself), should be saying while leaving a specialty wig boutique?! While reflecting on our disappointing options over lunch and then receiving a call from her doctor that chemo could be starting in less than 2 weeks, I fortunately found Truly You in a Google search. With my sister-in-law questioning if she had the emotional strength to try another place that same day, she hesitantly gave me her blessing to make the call… and I’m so happy we did! NOW… on to the REALLY GOOD STUFF and Truly You! After a quick phone conversation with Lina who was lovely, knowledgeable and very understanding, she found a way to grant us an appointment right away. In less than an hour we drove to Truly You and were enjoying our complimentary beverage and reading their free booklet for cancer patients sharing info on all things hair and scalp related (that my sister-in-law didn’t feel were appropriate to ask her oncologist). Within in minutes we met our hair replacement technician and hair stylist, Daniella who was professional, knowledgeable and extremely likeable! She sat with us in our own private salon room with hair washing sink, chair and hair tools. She listened to us while writing down all the profile details and what we were in search of, sharing and answering all our questions on wig options, what they offer, so that a well-informed decision could be made during this difficult time. About 10 minutes later she returned with 3 human hair and 3 synthetic hair wig options that if not totally fit the bill, were incredibly close! After trying all on wigs and Daniella asking questions while fielding all of ours, a brief FaceTime call with her husband and a few photos with the perfect human hair wig, the decision was made. Within minutes (as Daniella is also a hair stylist), she custom cut my sister-in-law’s wig with precision detail and even humored me with extra little clips here and there to the odd hairs. She even added the odd baby hairs around the face to make it more realistic. All in one stop and within a couple of hours we got EVERYTHING we were hoping for and were so surprised that pricing was very competitive with all the extras received at no charge! How did it look? You be the judge… My brother showed their kids a few pictures of Mom before the wig, and they were like ‘yeah, that’s Mom before the wig.’ Then he showed them the exact same pictures again and said these were photos WITH the wig. They both said ‘Dad… those are the same pictures of Mom without the wig.’ He then revealed “Actually, ALL these pictures of Mom are in her wig!’ They honestly thought the wig was her hair they see every day. Thanks Truly You for making this day the best it could have possibly been. It was so appreciated!

Very disappointed in Truly You. I spent $2500.00 + tax for a hair topper that I purchased with the help of Amalia, the owner. She showed me a few and agreed on one that was more in the brown tones, since my hair is naturally brown, with very few highlights. I have blond highlights in my hair. I was OK that the highlights were not as prominent as mine, but it was the closest to my color that she had and she reassured me it would look beautiful. She also took pictures that day of my hair so her technician could try and match color/curl as close to mine. The hair topper was straight and they would have to perm it since my hair is naturally curly. I had to call to see if it was ready. They never called me. I made an appt to have the hair topper cut and styled into my hair which I was told was all included in the price. When I got there and met with Margarita, my stylist, I could tell from the look on her face , especially when she asked me if I had colored my hair that something was not right. She took the topper out of the bag and it was RED/COPPER WITH GOLD HIGHLIGHTS!!! There was no brown to be seen in the topper. I had recently touched up my highlight's 2 weeks prior, but I have had the same color hair for over 15 years. Never have I had any kind of red tones in my hair. The tech had seen me previously and also remembered my hair being the same color. I was not happy. She went to speak to Amalia who stated that this was the hair topper that I had picked. She did not come to speak to me. Only sent the technician back. It may have been the one that I had picked, but the color had been changed drastically! Even the tech could not find a match in my hair that was close to the topper. They would not refund me nor try to fix it unless I paid for it. I just paid $2500.00 for something that should have been to my satisfaction and they should have corrected the problem, refunded me or replaced it. You know how long it took me to save that kind of money?? Amalia refused to do anything. She never came and talked to me. Had her tech do the dirty work. I have shown others this piece and all can say that it is of red tones. For a reputable business, you should stand behind your product, especially in this industry where people are coming to you for your expertise and professionalism with hair loss. I have no topper and I am out $2500.00 plus tax. And for something that costs that much money, giving it to me still wet and in a paper bag was the icing on the cake. You do not treat your customers in that matter. Completely unethical, unfair and unscrupulous. Very disappointed. Avoidance is a sign of guilt.. Shame on you.

I am recovering from cancer treatment and I wanted a wig for functions, weddings, etc. I knew nothing about wigs, how they fit, how to choose a style, etc and frankly I left only slightly more knowledgeable. I described my hair prior to treatment, explained that I wanted it for events, not everyday and asked if they could suggest a style. I was told that I needed to tell them exactly what I wanted. Finally in frustration I was brought a book of available styles to at least give me some reference point. Everyone was polite and kind, but the wig I picked is fine, not great. Various wigs were available in a variety of colours, but they didn't have them, I was given a very brief explanation on how to treat my wig, but no sense of how to style it to actually wear it. I bought a synthetic wig because it was in my price range, but when spending close to $700 on a wig I really had hoped I'd be happier with the experience.

This clinic was a waste of my money and time. It felt like I was just being sold products/treatments and I was just being treated as a customer. I trusted the process and it rendered useless. I lost more hair than when I started the treatment 1 year ago. I spent over a thousand dollars on their CRLab shampoo and viles and they made my hair thinning and loss worse. I see more scalp than ever before despite doing everything recommended to me by dermatologists, Truly You, etc. All I can say is, do your research before getting treatment anywhere. So disappointing to see what they do with people's time and hair. I'm only on week 1 of my new natural shampoo and my hair is so much better already. They charge $300/400 for treatment each time I come in and no results, in fact worsening conditions. Never coming back. I threw all my CR lab stuff last week.

I am a cancer patient and I purchased a real human hair wig from Truly You. The customer service I received was phenomenal!! Every staff member that I spoke to was very knowledgeable and understanding of my budget and situation. They explained the benefits of human hair and synthetic hair, in the end I chose human hair. They matched the length and colour of my natural hair and even altered the cap to ensure it fit comfortably and properly. I had a tutorial on how to care for my wig (washing, drying, styling, etc.) and was informed of all the products to use for my wig and to restore hair growth after treatment. I purchased their hair and wig products and could not be happier!! I would return to Truly You again for all my wig and hair needs!

I’ve been a client of Margaret T. at Truly You, for the past 4 years. Margaret and the clinic have educated me since the day I met them, about the role of trichology and scalp health. I’ve recently visited their brand new, renovated clinic on Queensway. Margaret was instrumental in improving the customer experience of the scalp treatments performed in-clinic. They are “treatments”, but are even more relaxing and pampering! I regularly use the 2 product lines sold at the clinic, Rene Furterer (France) and CR Lab (Italy). When there’s 1 particular product I don’t love, Margaret is very receptive and open to feedback. Over the years , I’ve recommend this clinic to close family and friends many times.

In preparation for lunching my own business in Trichology to support my community, i flew all the way from Alberta, to attend Truly You Academy and WOW what an experience! A welcoming and calming state of the art facility, even more beautiful than I had seen in pictures. The education was incredibly valuable and taught by one of the best Trichologist in the industry Caroline. I lost my hair due to cancer treatment. Everyone was kind and helpful and I bought a $1000 wig I loved.....except when I brought it home I could never make it look good, it just didn't take to the style the technician made for me. It always looked awful. I wore it maybe three times. What a waste of money. I feel taken advantage of. EDIT: I was told I had a week to return to adjust any wig styling issues, otherwise I would be charged more money. I didn't make the 1 week time frame. That's the level of "we're here for you" I got.

Caroline was amazing to work with. I left my first appointment/consultation with answers and a feeling that someone actually listen to me about what was going on. I actually cried happy tears and my drive home lol. I just had my appointment with Iryna for the scacial treatment and my at home treatment. If you haven’t done the scacial, do it. I left feeling amazing and my hair and scalp feeling the best it ever has! If you are on the fence about making an appointment, don’t be. It’s the best decision I made for myself.

My experience with Truly you is always amazing! I am currently seeing the staff in order to prevent hair loss and since starting my personalized plan, I can definitely see results. The staff are extremely professional and knowledgeable, but most of all accommodating and make me feel so comfortable. Amalia and Caroline took time to understand my needs and are always staying ahead of the curve in not only products, but technology. Had a great experience with Dr. Caroline. Took a virtual appointment for ~$140 inc. taxes, and the detail in which she assessed the condition of my hair loss, the timeline of it, the analysis, explanation, and education made it worth every penny. Definitely recommended if you have hair loss problems.

Amalia provided the most gentle and helpful care to my 92 year old mother. She expertly fitted and trimmed a current wig to better suit my Mom’s style and provided suggestions for alternate wigs. My mother walked in unhappy with her old wig and walked out with a big smile on her face.

Products seems good. I ordered top made up of human hair. Initially I did not get product what I ordered. Later they corrected the problem and made me happy. Customer service is not up to the mark at all. I do not prefer to go back to this place.
