Try Hard Fitness is not any ordinary gym. Try Hard Fitness is a family. The owner, Rachel Norman is an amazing human being. I met her many years at her gym on Hylan Blvd. She is not only professional but she is personable, supportive and a role model. Rachel will push you to be the best person you can be and will assist you on any level. She is great at modifying her training based upon her clients abilities. Her work outs are fun, creative and MAKE YOU SWEAT. After every workout, I feel great which makes me want to come back to her everyday. I tried so many gyms but never ever felt the support the way I do from Rachel. Once I found Rachel many years ago, I stuck with her in every location she moved to. Not only is Rachel a great trainer, she is also a phenomenal human being. When she found out that my father needed a heart transplant, she held a fundraiser to help support the costs that his insurance did not cover. She completely did this on her own and I was truly touched. Having met Rachel and joining her gym not only helped me with my fitness but also gave me a special person in my life. I will forever be greatly for Rachel and Try Hard Fitness! Sticking with this gym and never leaving! I highly recommend everyone, from all different ages and all different levels to join her gym. You will be impressed and you will feel amazing!

I've been working and taking classes with Rachel for over 3 months now and I can say that this was one of the most friendly and professional experiences I have ever experienced. Rachel is an expert in what she is doing as well as one of the most welcoming individuals. She always treats her clients like a family and the atmosphere in the gym is always pleasant and professional. Her classes are extremely interesting and beneficial for any type of person as Rachel makes sure to have an individual approach to everybody. I can guarantee that you will never feel on your own working out here and will have fast and visible improvement to your body and technique. Her kickboxing classes are extremely structured and active and I had one of the best training experiences compared to any gym I trained at before. Try Hard Fitness is the place where you can improve your shape, find new amazing friends and learn many new things that you will never learn anywhere else. I can 100% suggest trying out Rachel’s classes and find out all of this by yourself. Try Hard Fitness became my 2nd home where I can go and get my mind out of things, have fun, and improve my body, and I am glad that I have found this place.

Just WOW! I can’t tell you how amazing today’s workout was. Came across Try Hard Fitness through ClassPass and decided to give it a shot with the kickboxing class. Unfortunately, they no longer participate in ClassPass however, Rachel honored it and welcomed us in. Rachel is a fun and motivating fitness instructor, by far one of the best I’ve come across. She is aware of everyone’s skill level and encourages you to go at your own pace and not to give up, as well as teach you the correct form. What made the experience even more special was that Rachel took the time to welcome newcomers to the rest of the group who have been with her for years, months even weeks. I’m super excited to have found such a gem like Try Hard Fitness on Staten Island. I’ve never really enjoyed working out but after today, that may change. Thank you so much for a wonderful first time experience and I definitely look forward to coming back. Highly recommended!

I have been working out with Rachel for almost four years and I can't imagine training with anyone else. Rachel's workouts don't only incorporate boxing but also calisthenics and weight training. Rachel's workouts are thoughtfully planned and she always considers all kinds of learners and athletes. Rachel has truly helped me to be in the best shape of my life. She is fully dedicated to her business and considers all of her clients when making her class schedule and workouts. Not only do her workouts get you into incredible shape, but Rachel also strives to make clients feel good about themselves and promotes the idea of a positive body image during all of her classes. I can't say enough good things about Coach Rachel , and the classes and environment at Try Hard Fitness! Five stars isn’t enough to give Rachel! I’ve been to a few personal trainers and Rachel is by far the best. She helps you reach your fitness goals with dedication, heart, compassion, and a strong will. I have done plenty of her 5 AM challenges and also have trained one on one with her. Any time I have walked out of one of her classes I automatically felt better than I had walked in. She truly cares about each and every one of her clients and treats everyone with the utmost respect. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or are experienced, it doesn’t matter - she has the ability to set the pace for everyone based on their individual needs, even in a group setting. With that said, I can’t recommend Rachel enough!!!! She will truly help you reach your goals, with a kind, positive attitude ❤️

The Fit Employee is by far the best gym I have ever been to. Rachel is phenomenal. She genuinely cares about her members and their personal fitness goals. It is the best place to unwind and a treat for your body and mind. Rachel motivates you to step out of your comfort zone and her energy and positivity are infectious. You cannot help feeling great at the end of a class, be it cardio kickboxing, body sculpting or the one of the special dance classes. It is the greatest, most friendly and respectful environment to work out where members enjoy each other’s company. I have been training with Rachel for over seven years, she is knowledgeable, dedicated and passionate with everything that she does. Her kickboxing classes are unique and challenging. She also offers body sculpting where you will feel your muscles working !! Recently she added a ballet bar class which everyone raves about!! She gives every client one on one attention and ensures everyone has a fun workout and has proper form. Wether you are a beginner or an elite athlete you will love try hard fitness. TFE is TRULY for everyone no matter your fitness level, take a class and you'll see for yourself!!!! Friendly, supportive, high energy atmosphere where you will be challenged if you are in shape and you will be encouraged and guided if you are just starting out. No doubt these are serious hardcore workouts BUT you are reminded to listen to your body and go at pace suitable for your fitness level, and this is why anyone can workout here. As for the owner/coach Rachel she is one of those people blessed to be doing EXACTLY what they are meant to be doing and because of this she brings a genuine desire to help each of her clients reach their fullest potential. TRY HARD FITNESS is essential for my fitness goals and has increased my performance as an athlete. The Cardio Kickboxing class is an energetic choreographed workout, in just a few months of being a member at TRY HARD FITNESS I can see a difference in my upper body strength and my cardio endurance. In addition, the Body Sculpting and Cardio Barre classes encourage muscle confusion by engaging aerobic and interval strength training. Rachael Norman knows how to tailor each class to be challenging for all levels and motivates each individual to achieve their personal best. In searching for a fun way to work out, I entered The Fit Employee for some information. When I first met Rachel, I immediately felt a positive and safe energy. She is extremely caring and motivating. She learns your capabilities, understands your body and pushes you to your limit. Because she creates a fun positive environment, I’ve had the opportunity to meet really great people. Everyday she brings different workout routine and combinations, making it both fun and exciting to workout. She will make sure you are drenched in sweat before leaving. Wow. The best workout class I've taken. I have been using classpass but Try Hard Fitness is no longer part of it but Rachel is great, and she let us stay. I have to say, this is the BEST workout class I've taken. This is whole body workout! And it's so much fun with Rachel and being newcomers, everyone is super friendly. Rachel was very welcoming and encouraging. She knows everyone by name and it feels much more intimate and personalized. She checks on everyone to make sure you have the proper form and motivates you to keep going. I am contemplating on leaving classpass and just joining her. Best. Workout. Ever! I am not going to feel my legs or arms tomorrow and it'll be great.

Try hard fitness has truly changed my life! This has been the one place where I felt the most comfortable and the most motivated to keep coming back. I have always struggled with sticking to a work out routine when it comes to meeting my goals but with Rachel I have not only met those goals but exceeded them. I’ve trained with Coach Rachel a few times in my past. She introduced me to the martial arts world. Her workouts are great, and focus so much on technique rather than how many push ups, or mountain climbers, Or squats you can do, this helps to maximize your growth. I attended her class the day before this review and the amount of knowledge I’ve received from some of the work outs I was doing is amazing. I was able to do some workouts better and get more out of my exercises. Overall she’s great, and I would encourage everyone and anyone to give it a chance especially if you have a goal to get in shape. Try Hard!!!

This was my first time experiencing cyro fat freezing so I didn't know what to expect. All I can say is I am now HOOKED. I bought 3 sessions and when I started my waist measured at 38.25 and ended at 35.125! Rachel, the owner, is extremely friendly, informative and accommodating. The gym and cyro room are extremely clean and well maintained. There is plenty of parking for the location being on Staten Island. I have recommended cyro fat freezing at Try Hard to many friends and co-workers! The results are honestly impressive and the pricing for cyro freezing at Try Hard is unmatched!

The owner is really kind and genuine. She offers her help and advice both on and off the gym. She'll never push you to do something solely for money like most places/people do. Instead, she'll offer her advice and tell you what your best options are and work with you to achieve the best results. Sure you can train at any gym but it's having a good leader that allows you to run past your goals. Too bad Google only offer 5 stars because I'd give her a 20/10.

Rachel is such a motivational and positive coach. Her workouts are no joke! My only exercise for the past few months has been two of her virtual classes per week, and I feel so much stronger and have much better endurance than I did when I started. I have been doing 5am classes 3x a week for the last year and my days have become so much more productive! Try hard fitness is a great establishment. Inclusive to all fitness levels in a welcoming group setting. I had the opportunity to teach classes at this gym so I know first hand the amount of thought that is put into each session. Great gym, great workouts and great gym! Try Hard Fitness and Coach Rachel gives me daily motivation in class and outside of class. The 5am Sweat shop is a great chance to get my workout in before my day even starts. Two years of being a member many more to go!
