Please, if you're reading this, read it all the way to the end! 1st things 1st...we ordered a gyro platter, please take a look at the picture of the gyro salad we received. I even had a conversation with the girl about the order and she mentioned that what ordered comes with pita bread...I replied with, "well yeah, most gyros are made with pita bread". After finishing the placing of the order, my fiance and I went and sat down at a table to wait for our food. While waiting, the girl we placed the order with comes over to our table and proceeds to tell us that she wrote down that we asked for crispy fries but she didn't charge us for them so if we would still like the French fries we would need to pay for them. At this point, my fiance and I are now looking at the receipt to see exactly what we had ordered... please refer to both receipts... plus, please remember that we originally ordered a gyro "platter"... which usually means that French fries are added and included with the higher price. As for the crispy French fries, you can see just how "crispy" the fries were in the photo provided. Ok, back to paying for the French fries... as requested, I went to the counter and paid for the French fries, please refer to the attached receipts. We had asked for extra tzatziki sauce, and we were charged an additional $2.00 for that, which would have been fine, (the tzatziki sauce was pretty much sour cream, please refer to the picture of the gyro salad-back left corner). Ok, back to the gyro "platter"... we were charged $12.99 which seemed appropriate if it included the French fries but no, the French fries were an additional $2.99. Next, please refer to the picture of the menu that I have included, it's an older menu that states that a gyro with French fries would be $7.99. While I was back at the counter, I looked up at the updated menu and noticed that a gyro with French fries is now $8.99. So my next question for the girl that took our order was, why are we being charged $12.99 plus $2.99 for something that is clearly marked $8.99 on the menu directly above you. I was expecting a reply of some sort, didn't expect her to just walk away from me, I wasn't being loud or mean in any way, just simply asked why. When she returned to the counter and didn't have a response that explained anything about the situation, I then proceeded to ask for the manager...which I don't remember ever doing in the past, but I could be wrong there. She walked back to the window and explained that I would like to speak with the manager and the next thing that I was told was very unexpected... she returned to the counter, opened the register, pulled $2 out and said, "he's too busy to speak with you at the moment so here's $2 to cover the cost of the extra tzatziki sauce that you ordered, have a nice night". Thanks for reading all the way to the end, avoid this place... unless you like getting charged extra for food that isn't prepared correctly and very poor Service!

I would always rather give a good review than a bad one for obvious reasons so when I have to post negative things about a restaurant it means the experience was pretty bad. Ordered chicken gizzards and wings online and it took 20 minutes from the time I ordered it before I arrived at Tunis on University. The girl working there didn't acknowledge seeing me come in until I had stood there for over 10 minutes and I was the only customer inside the place and she looked right at me several times while she was taking orders at the drive thru. So now 30 minutes have passed since I ordered and I finally get her attention and she tells me she was to busy to put my online order in and it hasn't even been started yet. So she said that it would be ready in about 15-20 minutes. In the meantime two customer came to the counter and put in there orders and get this. Ten minutes later they got their food and went out the door. Not only did I order my food almost an hour before them but they still got theirs first. So after an hour and 10 minutes the food finally was handed to me. Upon eating the food I have to say it's some of the worst I have ever had. The wings tasted like they had been leftovers from days ago and the gizzards were so tuff I couldnt eat any of them and ended up giving them to the dogs and they even had a hard time chewing them up. It's too bad that the people working there have to care so little about their customers. I hadn't been here for a few months and the people working were not the same as they were the last time but I will never go back there and just wanted to give everyone a heads up before you try this place

Been in Jax like a little over a year. A few of my coworkers referred me to Tunis for a lunch spot. So I’m going to cut to the chase... the food is decent most of the time but the food is also quite over priced considering a lot of their combos don’t even come with fries. Some of their plates can creep upwards towards $20 once you add everything, and at those prices you can literally go to Red Lobster or some of the more premium spots in Jax for seafood. And on top of that it’s not like it’s fresh caught fish and shrimp, or at least it doesn’t taste like it. The food has not been consistent, one time I may get food that look and taste good... and others I will get over cooked food cooked in old grease!!! The wait times here are absolutely ridiculous, don’t bother calling in your order as they won’t even start on it until you get there. So it’s definitely NOT a good lunch spot as you can’t just get in and get out, you will most likely wait at least 30, 45 mins & sometimes more around lunch time. The staff is usually friendly, never had an issue with customer service at this location but I have at the Orange Park location. I’ll never go back to that one!!! ...BOTTOM LINE: The food is ok, definitely not great or mind blowing! My suggestion is to allow yourself time to wait, make sure you ask what exactly comes with your combo especially if you’re ordering something for the first time, you better tell them any sauce or dressings (Ranch, Blue Cheese, Etc) you will need as most of the time they don’t ask, and finally always... ALWAYS check your food before you leave!

Okay, so I've eaten here on more than one occasion and the food here is consistently good. The service is generally good, but there are times when placing your order can be difficult. While the food is good and it's definitely worrh a try, the major downside is the wait time which can be excessive, 20-30 minutes, even when ordering at the drive-thru. As I sit here now waiting for my order to be brought out to my car there are 9 other cars parked waiting for their orders as well, and 3 cars waiting in line to order. I'm sure many people are frustrated and would normally just leave, but they collect your money first to ensure you don't leave. I'm actually watching people who were waiting walk into the restaurant, presumably to ask for their money back. This is likely my last time visiting for awhile until they can make changes to improve the wait time - I wish them well. Update: Finally received my order from a young lady who walked out to my car talking on her headset and never acknowledged it took 40 minutes for me to get my order and NEVER APOLOGIZED for the inconvenience. Yeah, definitely my last time coming here until changes are made. There are tons of places I could choose to spend my money, so next time I'll choose somewhere else.

Saw this place as I drove near lite today and it sparked my interest. So, at lunch I stopped in. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteake sandwich/sub. Waited bout 10 minutes for it to be made and anticipating a gargantuan bite into the sub filling my mouth with that never dull taste of a Philly Cheesesteak. I got it! Say down at a table, opened up styrofoam box and something alarmed me right off, it didn’t look good, looked like 3 different types of meat thrown together and the smell was off. I’ve been wrong before and decided to take a bite of this “sub”. I had to spit out the bite I took. NOTHING like a Philly, it shouldn’t be named as so. The meat was disgusting and it was so salty, to the point of being gross. I have not given a terrible review before but the cashier tipped the scale on that side. When I brought up my sun to the counter, opened up box (showing 1 bite taken from sandwich and then spit out), she looked at me and I asked where the garbage was. Not once did she utter any word of refund. She knew I was not happy. Never will I return, neither will the 25 others in my office here

Do not even waste your time here especially if you work for a delivery service. I have been here for over 45 minutes. They even selected that the order was ready for pick up. The order was suppose to be ready 30 minutes ago. Now they’re saying it’s another 20-25 minutes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. It is not worth the wait and all you are going to do is miss out on your own money and other opportunities with stores that actually have their act together. I have seen several customers come and go. Dasher Support even had to call the store because they are taking so long and they lied to them on the phone saying it would be 10 minutes. I got here at 7:20 and it is now 8:11. I sincerely doubt I will be out of here in the next hour. If you care about your earnings, ratings, and completion rate do not come here. In fact, if you care about your time at all decline all orders from this location. I could have made several deliveries by now. It is unprofessional. Also, there is a literal mask mandate and none of the staff wear a mask or gloves. Give your time and business to a location that actually appreciates their customers time.

You just lost 2 of your customers after this experience tonight. Whoever you had working the drive thru at around 9:30pm 09/8/22 is incompetent and has gotten our order wrong twice & hung up on us. First time she didn't put the order in right for pick up, we ordered 2 meals, she rung up one, so we had to be rung up again and wait for the other order. Now tonight she didn't get it right again, we ordered a gyro meal and a chicken sandwich meal, she gave us 2 gyro meals, so we called to tell y'all the order was wrong so we could get a replacement or a refund the next day and she answered the phone and then set it down and walked off and let it sit for a while and then hung up on us. We couldn't go up there because it was heavily raining and it was around 9:40 when we discovered it was wrong. This anger isn't even mostly about the order being wrong, it's about that she clearly doesn't care and hung up on us AND the order was wrong.

It looks like a hole in the wall location because it used to be captain d's back in the day that has not been updated, just shabby cosmetic paint and touch ups, but I can honestly say that the #3, the Philly cheese steak platter, was fire . The cheese steak was not greasy nor was it half filled with steak it was portioned just right and seasoned to. It wasn't poorly made with stuff that is supposed to be on the inside but ends up all in the platter or on the bread, it actually looked beautiful just like the picture. The fries were beautifully golden and not over cooked enough crunch on the outside with the right amount of softness on the inside and perfectly seasoned! I really questioned my husband's choice of restaurant to eat from but am so glad that he did choose it because I would definitely go back there to eat again and will get the #3. The food was so good I didn't even get to take a picture so I can post it I just jumped right in and started eating!!

The food at Tunis is very fresh and tasty however, I ordered a Philly fish and when I got home discovered it was a steak sandwich. I returned The very next day with my receipt and a picture of the meal. The manager of the store told me I should have bought that sandwich back the same night. I told him that was not good. Customer service and unacceptable as I should not have received the wrong order on the first place and then have to drive an hour and a half to have my order corrected. I think when it comes to customer service. I was disrespected, and had to pay for some thing that I never order from them. And he made No attempt to remake the order . The manager needs classes in customer service and etiquette.

This place has very poor customer service. I placed a call in order and I asked if it was too late to place it?  Was told by the person on the phone no it's not too late I will take your order.  When I get to tunis I was told my order was not cooked cause they shut the kitchen down.  Mind you I came from another part of town. I ask to speak to the manager. I was told he is in the back, he will come up to the window.  I waited for almost 10 minutes nobody came to the window. I see 2 employees in the back of the store one of which is definitely the manager. I asked to speak with the manager again. The manager responds there is no manager here tonight.  Yet, he is definitely the manager and I know this for sure. I will never spend money at this store ever again.

Food is okay however, service is the worst I ever had. They tell you to come in 15 mins to pick up your food, It takes them over an hour to even have the order ready. When you ask to speak to a manager, he or she will not come out of the back to even speak to anyone. I have placed pick up orders about 5 times with them, each and every time it took them 45 plus minutes to prepare the order. The orders are never ready when you get there. You will sit in the drive through for a while. They have poor customer service skills, no management skills and I will never order from them again. Pack a lunch if you place an order here, you will need it.

Clean and comfortable interior of the restaurant but rarely do you see people eating inside. Drive-thru is huge at this location on University Boulevard. I get my seafood platter grilled for the health of it and the food is very tasty but as always with other seafood places the volume has decreased over the years. One negative comment is that they don't carry fountain drinks or unsweet iced tea. Come here on occasion but there are other places with more popular.

This is for Tunis Seafood Wings and Subs 1352 University Blvd N The lady taking orders had no manners and was rude as ever. The place was not clean and was not run professional. I ordered my food and had two people come in after me and order and they got their food before I got mine. When I walked in I over heard a customer leaving saying “y’all need to do better next time”. I ordered an Philly cheesesteaks and got home it was like I was chewing gum trying to eat it. I would run fast from this place, they will differently not get my business again. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Best wings in Jacksonville. Everything is cooked fresh, so you will have to wait for a little while. They are very busy on Friday nights, so the wait can be longer. Staff is super friendly, and if they make you park, they will bring the food out to you.

The look of the restaurant is not encouraging. That being said, the people, the food quality and quantity make this place an outstanding value. Some of the best shrimp in town! For those of you who like chicken gizzards they are delicious. Having spoken to others who have tried other items on their menu it seems they do a great job on all of them. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. Not a date night place, but one where the food really shines.

I think the food was very good I have had the gyro the Philly cheese steak the chicken cheesesteak and the wings which were very big and good, very reasonably priced, and they were all superb. Although I must mention that how clean the restaurant was kept and the vision from the front counter to the kitchen looked exceptionally clean as well, if you seen this place on the news I must tell you to reconsider. Every restaurant will have a bad day although I have never experienced that from here!

This place is fantastic! Their prices are somewhat on par with Singletons seafood out at mayport (little pricey) but the food is JUST as good. The best thing about this place is the customer service. Lotta places these days have atrocious customer service in other words...the fast food greats like McDonalds and BK. HORRID customer service. Its really obvious their employees do not want to work at all. Tunis employees are energetic and positive and rock the house. Highly recommend this place.

They actually really good the wings aren't bad but I been a couple, that have them beat,seafood is on point and the desserts. Good portion sizes and reasonable cost. However the last time I went the guy who took my order asked questions repeatedly that I'd already answered. Not enough sense to explain a combo plate because I asked for wings and particular fish. He wrong two orders and they were supposed to be part of one order. But I do enjoy Tunis be prepared to wait they stay busy.

This is our favorite place to get Cajun Ranch wings and Gyros. The burgers are also amazing. My fiance loves their shrimp! The owner is nice and a hard worker, usually in the kitchen cooking. I loved this place the first time I went and I let everyone know how awesome their food is. Everyone who went, loved it!!! We go so much they know what I want before I even place my order. Will be back again, and again....

I've been here a few times. Foods good. I've gotten the fish,shrimp, oyster platter. And my friends got fried gizzards and more oysters. Something I feel like they need to hire more help in there. One time I had to send the fish back because it wasn't cooked all the way and there was way to much seasoning on my shrimp. Sent me straight to the bathroom. But over all not bad. The prices are not bad either. If I'm around that area ill probably try them put again.

Tunis is always my go to spot fresh, seasonsed food.. needed dinner before my night shift ordered shrimp & fish dinner. Parked for 30 mins and got brought 4 large pieces of catfish no shrimp. & than they locked the doors exactly after bringing me my food. $18 is pricey in this economy & 30mins is a long wait.. if shrimp wasn’t available all they had to do is say that… def disappointed

The seafood is excellent and fresh, but they are SLOW. I called and ordered ahead. I got there 5-10 minutes after they estimated that my order would be ready. They hadn't even started it yet. I might as well have ordered at the drive through. Those orders were being filled much faster. Even though the service was slow, the food definitely made up for it. I'll definitely be back, but not if I'm in a rush.

I love Tunis. The food is great. The staff is great. Only thing is. I call 20 minutes before my lunch break just about every day. I get there and still having to wait 30 minutes for my food. By that time I'm late with lunch with my wife, cause she only gets a 39 minute lunch. I have an hour. We still love it that much to wait.

First of all I have to say the girl at the counter was beyond excellent. She greeted everyone and was suoer helpful. She answered all of my questions and got my order exactly right. The food was good, I felt like it was a little underseasoned but the sauces were so flavorful you couldn't tell. I will definitely visit again. Plus my two year old was entertained by the table side fish tank.

The food is good and I get a seafood platter grilled for the health of it. As is common nowadays, I had the volume of food for the price is dwindling. The flavor was good and rarely is there people eating inside but they do a huge drive-through business.

The food was very very good, service was good and friendly, but I couldn't give them 5 Stars, because the wait for the food was waaay too long. Even if items are cooked to order, it shouldn't take 20+ minutes to cook fried seafood, and pack it.‍♂️ They should either invest in more fryers, faster cooks that can multitask, or do more food prep to shorten the cook to serve time.

Best fried food in town!! This location and the one on the Northside. Food prep usually between 8-15 minutes wait time and the staff is friendly and professional. I gave it 5 stars because they treat everyone the same and they are considerate when it comes to something they get wrong. (Which is rare!) Shout-out to the Southside Jax team Again, Northside.. similar experience

Food was hot and fresh. Tried the 5 piece Cajun Ranch wings with fries. On point. Then I tried the fried fish dinner. Naomi suggested the Sawai. She was right again. I really loved the hush puppies and the potato salad also. Great service and great suggestions!!! Good portion sizes also. I WILL BE BACK!!!

Usually when I order I'll make a custom order that's not on the menu. "Gyro Chesziki Fries". Large order of cheese fries with gyro meat, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce on top. The drive thru menu is very old and out dated it definitely needs to be updated, because the prices change one you reach the window. It’s very misleading and irritating. I can understand the price changes due to the rising cost of food in the country but that’s should never be discussed with your customers. Just fix the menu to avoid any further confusion.

These Brothers have the best customer service. Ive been a dedicated customer for over 8 years and they never disappoint. This restaurant is very appreciated and well respected. keep up the great work guys. University location.

I've only eaten here twice, but both times were awesome! The food is delicious (and ready in a very timely manner) and the staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! *edit* - All these months later and they continue to blow my mind! Excellent service and exceptional food! Canun ranch wings were delicious. I could tell the burger wasn't hand-rolled, but it was good. Everything was made to order but made quickly. It was my cheat meal and well worth it

The gyro platter was good, only complaint is that it came with pita chips rather than a whole pita to build your own sandwich. We just know to ask for the change next time. Overall, good food at a good price.

I was craving something different so finally pulled into Tunis with a taste for a Gyro. I was very impressed! A generous sized sandwich packed with delicious hot moist meat. The side of fries was also of good size and right out of the fryer. I will definitely go back to try some of the other vast offerings on their menu.

Great food! Hot Fresh Wings! I'm always impressed with my food, definitely at this location on Beach Blvd. Food is always dropped fresh, seasoned well and sauce is impeccable! Cakes from Cupcake Connection for an added treat, seals the deal. You won't be disappointed. Seafood, you name it..priced very reasonably.

The portions are large and the shrimp is great. I found the scallops a bit rubbery. The crab cake was average. Corn nuggets are good and lots of yummy crinkle fries. One person in our party got tilapia and really liked it. As far as I could tell, all the seafood is fried. Be prepared to take home leftovers.

All I can say is bring your appetite. The gyro has so much meat I had to come home and take out more than half. I could have easily bought one meal for 2 persons . It is out of the way for me but if I am in that area it is worth a second visit. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and efficient.

I came in today and ordered the full chef salad, I asked what all comes in it, was told a roll of turkey and cheese, and a roll of ham and cheese. They handed me a bag I drove off just to get home with only turkey and cheese, NO ham, this was a full side I paid for, and they charge a $1 for a cup of water

Terrible wings and they are really big wings. The drinks are extremely sweet. I won’t be going back to eat there. If I could give them a 0 star I would. It’s not worth the money please go some where else to eat in Jacksonville

The prices are okay. The guy at the window was pretty friendly and the food at Tunis no matter where is always pretty decent. I like this little spot here in Gainsville. Also I am on a budget so I got a large drink for my son and I and he came out with a small drink for my son. That makes a difference.

I went here for the first time a month ago and was highly impressed. The food was delicious and plentiful. I thought this would be my new go to but I returned this weekend and recieved half the portion that I'd received the first time and the food wasn't as fresh. Maybe a hit and miss. …

We order 3 meals and all of them are good, The Philly Steak is good and good size , the Chicken Kabob with Hummus and salad is good too and the Chicken Tender and Fries are good and the chicken is fresh. The fries can be better if the add something more fresh but in general is good food.

Decent food, light on the sauce for tenders. Gyro had good meat but little ingredients or sauce. A bit pricey for lunch but overall good flavor.

The food was excellent. I had the Philly Steak, and my daughters had the Lamb Gyros. We did drive thru and it took about 45 minutes to get the order. I think we were the first customers for that day. Maybe they was still setting everything up. However, its worth the wait.

The service is always great when I come here. Love going here but just a warning the prices have gone up my item was three dollars more I didn’t know that until I looked at my receipt later on. I could be wrong but it didn’t show it on the menu so just pay extra attention

I took my friend and my son out for lunch and we thought we would try somewhere new. I was really impressed. The staff was super friendly. The restaurant itself was maintained. And we all enjoyed the food. My son told me it is a place he would like to go back.

I had some issues making the order. I will admit it was my first time and I can be awkward sometimes. The food was amazing and the portions were great! I had the gyro with fries and wings. I loved every second of my experience. The workers were lovely!

The staff at this location are soooo friendly and personable. They greet us with a helloooo that makes us feel like we're their long distance family that they haven't seen in years. The food is fresh to order and taste awesome every time.

New restaurant on the corner of Baymeadows and Old Kings Rd. S. Great service. Smiles all round. Chicken Kabob was great with homemade hummus. Fish was light not greasy. Owner Ben very personable and generous. We will be back!

The food here is amazing! I always get the wings or the fried shrimp. There is normally an extended wait but I contribute that to fresh food!

The gyros and crinkle-cut fries were delicious! Nice dining room and a covered outdoor area, as well. -- Update: it is even better! We added Wings to our meals and they were delicious.

I have never been disappointed when I order from this location. Anytime I am passing through the city, I have to stop by and get me a plate! Too bad they are not in NC.

I love Tunis for their fantastic fresh food, decent prices and you can customize the wings or chicken tenders with many sauces options. Shrimps are really good!!

Always fast service with hot food so far I've mainly been eating the chicken and philly cheese steaks and everything is to my personal loving not liking …

The best wings! Much better than Wild Wings and other joints I've been too. Great sauce. Good meat. Great service. Highly recommend this place.
