I really love this park it is so beautiful it's right on Turtle Creek Avenue on the other side of the street from the creek. The only thing that makes this place bad is that there was a very beautiful statue there from I think the 1930s, it was a beautiful work of art. The park is still a nice park but the most beautiful part about it was ripped up and taken away. The Park was called Lee Park. I did not know what the statue depicted, when I moved here in 96. I am an art enthusiast, as well as an artist. I love the statue for its beauty and artistry. But now that I know really what it was all about, I am glad it was removed. Even though I miss seeing the horse. But, they still have an exact replica of Robert E. Lee's house standing right next to where the statue of Robert E. Lee was removed. I wonder why they don't tear down that house. It is probably because they make money from renting it out to parties. If Dallas really cared about offending anyone, they would tear down the replica of Robert E. Lee's house from Arlington. It is still standing.

I enjoy coming here to walk my dog. This park is extremely dog friendly. There's even a regular group of dog parents that meet here daily to let their dogs play together. However, the park has signs that say your dog must be on a leash and despite busy roads, the group always lets their dogs off leash. I've never had an issue with any of the dogs being unruly. Sometimes pet waste isn't picked up so watch your step, but again l, I haven't had a personal experience of stepping in anything. In warmer weather, people like to picnic and lounge out in the lawn and sometimes there are events going on in the building.
Dog-friendliness
There's a group that meets up here to let their dogs off leash to play. Keep in mind there are signs saying your pet must be on a leash. However, I have not seen any concerns about the dogs being off leash or any incidents occurring.

I am heartbroken about this park. The beauty of the Lee statue was unparalleled in North America, regarded as one of the most exquisite equestrian sculptures in the world. Besides, after the civil war, Robt Lee was the strongest voice for reconciliation in the south. This, despite his own plantation had been destroyed by union soldiers. He lost more than any man who lived through it, yet refused to invect bitterness. But those who defraud his character today will not read, for themselves, so much as a paragraph of this Christian man's own words. The empty pedestal of this statue is itself an epitaph on this blind generation.

Attended a catered event at Arlington Hall at Oak Lawn (formerly Lee) Park. The park is a beautiful sprawling green across from equally lovely park area across the street as part of Turtle Creek. All completely open to the public. Arlington Hall is a wonderful building for private events; I've attended more than a few excellent wedding receptions there. Lee, or rather, Oak Lawn Park is a wonderful Dallas institution where all are welcome to gather and enjoy the beauty of the grounds and the elegance of Arlington Hall. Free, low key, a Dallas treasure open to citizen and visitor alike.

This is a nice park in the midst of multi-story urban residential living. It's an open green space with a walkway around it, and trees ring this open area. Lots of people bring their dogs here and let them hang out off leash together. It's essentially an unofficial dog park. This group is really friendly and inviting. There's also a building that often hosts weddings and events. On the other side of that building there are maybe a few small fountain type structures and a concrete walkway through a small waterway.

A Great City Park in the heart of Dallas. A smallish park but with much shade from the old trees, nice elevation changes and seating areas with much vegetation that creates separate outdoor areas. In the late 70's early 80's this Park was a very popular gathering place for young people on Saturdays and especially Sundays. People would come to the park to eat, drink, lounge, throw frisbee' s and generally enjoy the day in this beautiful park. Much has changed in Dallas since those days, I hope the Park doesn't.

As a photographer, Turtle Creek Park is a beautiful location for any occasion or special event. On this visit, I had prom portraits scheduled. The water attraction is a showstopper. Depending on the time of day, the sun creates a lovely rainbow for any images. And since there are so many angles, you're not waiting to get the perfect shot. My only complaint is parking. I appreciate dedicated parking and there isn't any. There are plenty spots to parallel park in the area, but particular with the parking.

Beautiful park. I'm originally from PA close to Gettsburg so this is absolutely amazing to see here for me. Ive been here since 2009. It's a shame these whiny city officials got their way to have a statue removed thats been there since the 30s. Leave it alone! If you people would leave it there no one would have gotten killed in a crane accident. Also, instead of spending all the money on removal why not pay pensions for our law enforcement instead? Anyway, beautiful park and absolutely love the house!

  • Steven Donaldson

Beautiful layout with some nice small areas surrounded by bushes. It is very crowded during big events. Having the food trucks there was nice but I still suggests bring your own food. Otherwise, you'll spend most of your visit waiting in line. The main event section and food trucks were crowded like a concert and only less so on the outskirts if park. However, I'm sure this parks scenes are amazing when there are less people. I plan on photographing here soon.

I don't know if it's because of the climate and the low point our country is in now but it felt absolutely creepy!!! Usually when I go for a walk I see pleasant faces and greetings as we pass one another. I even felt the vibes from the police officers, I passed 2 officers on bikes and they didn't even give eye contact. So sad..... but the trail is cool overall a couple of restaurants (bars) on the route but of course due to "Rona" it's not in full service.

  • Josh Spencer

Gorgeous park, probably my favorite urban park in all of Dallas. There are usually plenty of dogs socializing in the westernmost open area, though an occasional daredevil squirrel will interrupt. The easternmost portion shows off the beauty of Turtle Creek, making it great for a romantic picnic spot. During wedding season, some portions of the park are reserved on the weekends but still plenty of features open to have fun. Highly recommended.

  • Christopher Igbojekwe

It’s a beautiful pristine park and a stone’s throw from Katy’s trail entrance. It is great for dog walks and for hosting events. There is a venue inside the park called Arlington Hall that hosts events usually on the weekends, like weddings, anniversaries, etc. Pro-tip: If you have some time, while here cross the street and check out the other half of the park which has a pretty cool waterfall and Katy’s trail entrance right next to it.

  • Jose Castillo

Beautiful facility for special events , friendly professional staff. Great location with 360° view of the area. Large dining room..huge stage and this particular event featured all you can eat. Wait staff was phonominol and catered to all your needs. Walking trails , great security. Easy access to stage for loading electronic equipment for bands , presentations or any sort of event... Highly recommend this for you folks next event.

  • Urooj Alicia

Beautiful park but BE WARNED! YOUR CAR MAY BE BROKEN INTO!!! Sadly when I arrived here one evening, several car windows had been smashed in at the Arlington Hall parking area, and several distraught owners were literally and figuratively picking up the pieces. Terrible to see others be violated this way. However, it's truly a photogenic relaxing little oasis in the middle of an urban Dallas. Lots of couples and dog walkers.

  • Troy Welch

Great ran and manicured park. We use it all the time for picnics, access to the Katy Trail and has a replica home of Robert E Les’s Arlington Hall, used for weddings and other events. In addition to being a great place to visit. Has the following amenities putting green, shuffle board, coquet, Bocce ball, and a couple of other areas not sure what they are use for. Also picnic tables and a lake with water fall and fountain.

  • JB Vander

Nice park on a sloping hill with Arlington Hall as a facility for events. Very limited parking on the north side. Pavilion structure for events. Old trees. Dog friendly. Now there are posted rules and dog waste bags available. Lee statue has been removed and park has had several name changes recently as it redefines its identity. The park is decorated with lights during the Christmas holiday and looks very festive.

  • Haus of Glitch

Great park for photos. But lots of people also have this same idea. We did some engagement/wedding photos for my sister here and we had to navigate between regular park-goers as well as another photo session, and a surprise engagement. Which yes, makes it a very magical place...but if you’re trying to get that sunset lighting, just know you won’t be the only one doing that too. But yes, so many gorgeous photo ops.

  • Lee M

Too bad they removed the Gathering Place too bad they did not read what was carved into the granite that they removed too bad they missed an opportunity to have statewide or Nationwide contest of our sculptors to add to history instead of subtract... How nice it would have been to have Barbara Jordan sitting behind Robert E Lee are Shirley Chisholm lecturing from her podium how could they be so ridiculously wrong

  • Jacqueline Ulissey

With a bit of editing I was able to create some nice photos. However the experience overall was lackluster and disappointing. Maybe it was better a few years ago. But it did not look picturesque when I first visited in September 2021. For the most part the park and creek looked dirty. Forget Turtle Creek Park and go to Lakeside Park instead. My review and photos of Lakeside Park are available to see.

  • Morales J (MJ)

Great park but Do Not come here for the Easter in the Park. This our 3rd year coming but it will be our last. We like to bring the kids to participate in the egg hunt. It's for children!! But of course all the parents ran to get eggs with their kids. We followed the rules. So of course my kids didn't get any eggs and they got pushed around by all the adults!!

  • Craig McDaniel

Traditionally has been the home base for community events. Easter in the Park, with the Dallas Symphony concert and annual Pooch Parade, is a huge attraction. Until last year it was the terminus for the Gay Pride Parade, which moved to Fair Park and became a much larger event over multiple days. Now the park is probably better known as a wedding venue.

  • Michelle Jones

We go here fishing and catch big catfish but it is so dirty and so much trash everywhere it doesn't even look clean I know people try their best to keep it clean but others always seem to keep trash everywhere the water is still with trash I feel sorry for the fish and turtles it is a good fishing spot lots of dogs passing to in from with their owners

  • J Jay

If you are into the very basics of nature, then this might be the place for you & for that it gets a 5. If you're looking for flowers, benches to sit on, ducks, status, flowing streams or simi-clear, (not murky) water, then this is not for you. Overall it's calm, quite & peaceful if you need to escape from the world for an hour or so.

  • Jackie Romero

Beautiful! We did a family picnic by the creek. Laid out some blankets and tried wingstops new limited time flavors. There weren’t really any bugs and only a few off leash dogs that were curious about what we had. It was a lovely time and we got to see a lot of airplanes flying over us on their way to land at love field.

  • Catherine Cuellar

This park is a Dallas treasure with shaded benches, mature trees and walking paths. The excellent special event space Arlington Hall includes helpful, courteous staff; delicious catering; self-parking and valet options; and event spaces ranging from intimate conference rooms to a large dining room for receptions.

  • Sista B

Cool little park in Dallas that is connected to Katy Trail. It has a water feature and paved paths around the water. Their are also stairs that take you under the bridge. Be careful down the, especially at night. Homeless people sleep under there and it's a great place to get got IYKWIM. Parking is not great.

  • Dena Sims

This is a lovely representation of nature. I love the creek that runs through there. Even in the heat, I find some solace in standing or sitting around the creek, with its many tree shades. There are enough benches for one to sit awhile and ponder. The scenery itself is quite alluring. Greenery is plentiful.

  • Damon Yousefy

Turtle Creek Park is known as a great place to picnic, enjoy views of Turtle Creek, and a scenic place to walk. There is an access point to the Katy Trail and the park offers great fall foliage in November. Be sure to check out the putting greens next to the creek and the stone picnic tables.

  • Mat Berger

Previously known as Robert E. Lee Park, Oak Lawn Park is a nice green area located at the crossing of Lemon avenue and Turtle Creek Blvd. The lawn is awesome for yard games with family and friends. You can park in the streets on the side of Park. Very close to the entrance of Katy Trail.

  • Kent Johnson

Despite your view of the man Robert E. Lee, the park that receives his name is one of my favorite places in the world. Lovely trees and water with an expansive array of spaces. The thrill of the towers surrounding it makes it exciting for the user. Such a lovely urban place

  • Sarah Smith

For those raised with a social conscience in the 21st century, this park is offensive. While visiting the park, you will be greeted by a Robert E Lee statue. The home is a replica of his house. While this park is great for the KKK, many others will be very offended.

  • Tia

Lovely, peaceful oasis in the middle of the city, what’s not to love? Well actually, may want to avoid venturing underneath the bridges where it gets a bit icky and smelly. Stray homeless take shelter there I imagine. But otherwise beautifully kept and maintained.

  • Tim R.

Such a very cool old style park that borders Turtle Creek with meandering cement walkways around the park down next to the creek. Although it's small It has such old world charm to it! Worth a walk and in a beautiful older historical part of Dallas.

  • Tripp Pollard

Very very pretty park in Dallas and definitely a highlight of the parks that we visited while we were in the city. It's super gorgeous and clean and shaded, and all the vegetation is super healthy, plus there are neat spots to check out nearby!

  • LauraLee Korba (Widow)

A beautiful lil set up with a man made waterfall right in the middle of the city...people were walking about and also walking their dogs...I even saw a raccoon and a posseim which is strange in such a city like area....can't wait to visit again

  • Jenny D (Citybird_Adventures)

Large beautiful park right in the middle of the city! It had a lake, tons of space to walk and picnic benches to sit and eat at. They also had public water fountains for humans and animals. Great place to get out into nature right in the city.

  • John Horany

I have been to so many events at this beautiful park through the years. I am so happy that the City of Dallas has re-claimed its original name---Oak Lawn Park, which celebrates the beautiful Oak Lawn neighborhood, in all its diversity!

  • AJ Miragliotta

Great spot for a shoot! We actually had a couples shoot (and surprise engagement) here not long ago. Definitely a nice little naturey area without having to go very far at all. (PS, shameless plug for our site waxwing.tv for more)

  • J N

It's where I would want to live if I was blessed to have the money to afford to live there. It's peaceful and pleasing to the eye. In other words... More than I could ever imagine was possible but with God all things are possible.

  • Amanda Smith

Katy trail runs through here 2.1 miles. Beautiful scenery. Fishing walking ‍♀️ running ‍♀️ biking ‍♀️ dogs welcome pets welcome. Parking on streets and pull Offs. Plenty of places to stop and get some shade!!

  • Danny Bresette

It's open and clean with dog stations along the sidewalks. Very dog friendly. The lost star is for the water stations not operable and I would like to see a fenced dog park. Gets crowded on nice weekends along the Katy Trail.

  • Elizabeth Hartman

This park is well maintained and always popular! Dog owners are not always the friendliest but there are always picnickers and people hammocking by the lake. I love being able to walk here, and it’s right on the Katy trail!

  • Meltem Ballan

It used to be the Lee park and note called Oaklawn park. The pavilion is great for outdoor exercises and there are several short hidden trails around the Hall. You might want to explore the historic bridge behind the Hall..

  • Jai Hall

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for a picnic date which was great! We were able to sit and have a nice view the water. The park was very comfortable and not overly crowded. This is definitely a great park to have picnics

  • Janice. V Lee

Love this park it is bigger than it looks. I did my first photoshoot there. The buildings in the background are beautiful.their are no designated spot to park, have to read the signs and park on the side of the street.

  • Sharvari Desai

Despite the terrible name, this is a beautiful park. It's a gorgeous area for a picnic with friends on a beautiful day. Even though it's right in the heart of Dallas, the greenery helps you forget you're in the city.

  • Victor C

this is a really nice park. It has a lot of green space and it has very beautiful scenery, where you can see the fight between concrete and nature. Oddly enough, there were plenty of turtles at turtle creek! …

  • The Gold Standard

Awesome, incredibly convenient park for walks, dates, or lazy hammock reading sessions. A rare slice of lush topography in a city famous for being hot and flat. A true retreat for city dwellers and visitors alike.

  • Kurt Kangas

Nature in the body of uptown. Large open areas with huge trees for shade. Turtle creek runs through several park areas. Beautiful and meditative, and not all that busy, so if you like your own space, this is it.

  • Roshiny Thomas

Serene, the views and the angle of seating reminded of a scene from 500 days of Summer, where Tom and Summer sit on a park bench at an elevation and watch the buildings with the evening sun bouncing off of them.

  • Tara Cowan

City of Dallas is such a disgrace for having the memorial removed! Very beautiful artwork was put into the creation of the statue. The park is lush and relaxing, just heartbreaking to see the statue leaving.

  • Autumn McCall

My favorite area in Dallas... you've got Lee Park, Turtle Creek, Katy Trail, Reverchon Park...all connected....it's a wonderful haven in the middle of things. It brings a nice life balance to a busy area.

  • Diana Topel

Beautiful park perfect for picnics during social distancing time. It has a nice fountain, Picnic tables, dogs playing. The general ambiance is very peaceful even though it's in the middle of the city.

  • Joel Hubbard

Always busy during Covid, which is great to see. A good relaxing stop off the Katy trail, or easy to bring takeout for a picnic. Clean, safe. Still be cautious at night, not everywhere is well lit.

  • Terry Rickman

Turtle Creek Park is one of my favorite places to take couples for engagement, anniversary, family, or couples portraits. It’s among my top five favorite locations for portraits in the Dallas area.

  • Gracelyn Ladd

Beautiful park. Love walking around here with my family. Fun to see all the dog owners and their pups gather on Friday evenings. We're moving further away and I'm going to really miss this park!

  • Chris Lopez

This park is a beautiful setting and great location for the many events it host throughout the year! The Dallas LGBT community for Pride and The is always the kickoff spot for LifeWalk.

  • J Moe

Dallas Parks and Recreation typically does a great job. A bit noisy today, as the groundskeepers clean up all the leaves from fall/winter otherwise thoroughly impressed, as always.

  • santiago sanchez

Went to the first dog show today in my life and I loved it it was so nice I'll enjoy the whole day being out there visiting with people and just a very nice place very nice Garden.

  • James Wall

Turtle Creek Park is a haven of beauty and carefully manicured landscapes. Lush greenery, cobble stone paths, flowers, right off of the "Katy Trail", and last but not least water.

  • Vonnie Downey

The park is a nice gem in the midst of a busy Dallas area. Unfortunately the park is marred by the statue bases that no longer contain the historic statues that were once there.

  • T Hurst

It's time to rename this beautiful park. Lee was a cruel slaveowner and white supremist. Absolutetly not the man some southern history writers purport to make as a rational man.

  • Ritesh Kumar Malaiya

Loved the place. Calm place to have a walk in the evening. Oak park combined with Arlington park and a well maintained grass area across the road, makes it worth the visit.

  • Randy Moore

My dog Maximo loves the park so much that he escaped from his harness and ran to the park. His brother and I finally caught up with him and together, we finisqhed our walk.

  • Ted Okoroji

Lovely park with a splended variety of views. They are places to have a seat, hitch a hammock, lay down on the grass. Dogs are welcome. 1 star removed for loud cars.

  • RD S

Beautiful little park. Flowing creek, stone seating areas, open green lawn and an occasional TURTLE FAMILY in the Spring and Fall. Never crowded (apart from events).

  • George McKinniss

Beautiful however the creek and banks are littered with trash! I was shocked. Considering the neighborhood and the pricey real estate I would expect nicer.

  • David Anthony (Demonetize)

Very nice quiet local park. Has some water. Nice walking trail. I have some great pics here. Grass area too. Not too big though kinda small but very nice

  • Juliana Suss

It is a perfect place to read, excercise and just meditate.
Dog-friendliness
It has a lot of space to run with dogs and to share a nice evening.

  • Jc Clopp

Terrible east egg hunt. They just let kids come in before it started. My little girl got 7 eggs and that's it. 5 and under. Where these 7000 eggs at?

  • Travis Elliott

Wonderful place to visit for picnic. Well kept grounds and access to Katy Trail make this a great spot for any inner city outdoor recreation needs.

  • jun 24Juan Huerta

Always was and always will be a nice park. Nicely landscaped and the trees are an eyesight for tree lovers like me. I miss the park since I moved.

  • Lamarr English

Tried running here most recently. It’s ok, the paths and trails aren’t super long. I think the city needs to pick up some trees in certain areas.

  • Anirudh Sharma

Ohh isn’t it a beauty!! Quietly tucked in the middle of the hustle and bustle of uptown!! Our getaway on a lovely weekend afternoon or evenings!!

  • E P

A nice park near Turtle Creek. There are often events held there put on by the Arlington Hall Conservancy. There is limited street parking.

  • Moses Vargas

Madison and I have the greatest time here. The only reason I live in this area is solely for the parks and how they flow into each other.

  • Dr. Leslie Verghese

Our son got engaged last week there. Beautiful gazebo for an event such as that. Very natural and it was a perfect setting for the event

  • She MyBee

Beautiful. I've seen monarchs here in migration season. Strange the statue shows as the main pic. They tore the Robert E Lee statue out.

  • Christopher Garcia

Picnic time along the Creek from Blackburn to Lee Park is calming and relaxing in the sunshine with plenty of benches along the way.

  • Fred B.

I really enjoy visiting this park as well as the entire green space along the Katy Trail. It is quite beautiful and relaxing place.

  • Davis Melton

Quickly renamed to its original name. Best known in Dallas as "Lee Park," but the statue of Robert E. Lee is gone, as is the name.
