I would give zero stars if possible. I opened a checking account in this branch using a promo code that I found on the bank's own website. No one asked me or said anything at that time about my eligibility for that promo. Furthermore, the branch manager himself, Levi, confirmed in a phone call ~1 month later that I was eligible and even went over the main requirement regarding the direct deposits. It was only ~2½ months after opening the account and fulfilling all the requirements to earn the bonus that I was told by the branch employee who opened my account that it was a targeted offer and I would not qualify for the bonus. WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL ME THIS AT THE TIME OF OPENING INSTEAD OF AFTER I COMPLETED ALL THE REQUIREMENTS? There is no government agency that will hold this incompetent branch accountable and greedy US Bank corporate is apparently too cash strapped to pay me a $500 bonus that I legitimately earned AND THEIR BRANCH EMPLOYEES TOLD ME I WAS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE! No accountability, no integrity, incompetence, and disgraceful customer service... way to run a business.
Recently they made a mistake and gave me more money when I tried to submit a money order and simply get my cash out of my account instead. While I was understandably irate to wake up to a sudden huge overdraft one day, they did look into it and did find the mistake, and we were able to sort everything out. I wish this mistake hadn't happened, but they did fix it once they knew more and I was not charged any fees. Check your account frequently with this bank all the same. The mistake did not reflect in any of my statements and I honestly thought everything was ok and never would have knowingly used money that isn't mine, which is what their mistake could've painted me as! I appreciate the branch managers patience and diligence, so I have to leave some stars for them, but I'm strongly considering moving my money to a different bank without overdrafts, which I know exist, and one where they catch these mistakes sooner.
I use U.S. Bank for my checking, savings, and two credit cards. I like their no annual fee Cash Plus credit card because I can choose two categories like cell phones or home utilities to earn 5% cash back. When I redeem points on their Flex Perks card, I don't get charged airport or airline fees. You can also use points to pay for the annual fee. I can find a branch in most neighborhoods and cities although parking is a expected problem for this location . Unfortunately, I can't recommend U.S. Bank to my QuickBooks customers that I set up, fix, clean up, train, and provide the software for a discount because unlike other banks, you can't download their transactions directly into QuickBooks desktop Pro or Premier like Chase, Bank of America, BECU, and other financial institutions at no charge. What's so difficult about enabling that?
I have been using this branch for 8 years and am more than satisfied with the service i recieve. At least 2 bankers know me by name and everyone who works here is great. I cannot fault the employees for annoying rules made by the company. I was sad to see the branch is no longer open on Saturday's, but again, that is not the employees fault. On Saturdays I trek up to cap hill, where the employees are just as nice.
This branch used to be excellent. Now they are going down gradually. I have my own checking account but was frozen since Feb. They emailed me to submit the files. I did immediately but my account is still on hold even my information is verified. This is so unprofessional. I have to go to another branch to sort things out. They told me it is probably bookstore branch forgot to remove the hold. This is absurd.
I don't know about US bank itself, seems like a pretty regular bank, but this branch is amazing. I recently moved, but before that everyone there knew me by name, they're all very knowledgeable about their system, and know the fastest way to navigate through your financials. If you need any questions answered or help with any problems this is the branch to go to, amazing!
This branch is quite difficult to locate, I was walking around in circles and couldn't find it. The best way to find it is to enter the University Bookstore, then you climb the stairs and the US Bank branch is at the top of the staircase at your left side. It's very small btw, just an ATM and a cashier, but works for me. No wait time when I visited.
I rarely come to the U.S. Bank anymore. I do everything online. But when I do need to come here, they are very nice, but not always everything is going smooth.
Hours were updated, but they're still closed 10/6/21
Wonderful branch, wonderful tellers.
