I have been living on campus and eating at the café twice a day for a year now. The food has gotten steadily worse as the weeks have gone on. I am NOT a picky eater, I will happily eat just about anything. The food here is not made with much care at all. The meat is over cooked and dry. The head chef is not the most plesant person.Everything is just pretty bland and needs a lot of work. With that said, almost every staff member is wonderful and they do a great job at being patient with the large groups of people that come through.
So we had lunch at the osprey Cafe while we were taking a group of high school juniors on a tour of the University of North Florida campus.I have not had meals on a University campus and several years so I don't have much to compare this experience too, but I found the cafe to be a great place to have any type of meal. There were the typical go to places like pizza and burgers along with an area to make your own sandwiches and a hot meal area. In addition there was a nice desert area and lots of drink options.
Bright, cheerful, clean cafe, lots of variety in food and beverages, dairy free, gluten free options, and extra helpful staff. Oodles of space for sitting alone or in groups. Tables, bench seating, high top tables, too, with an abundance of big windows for sunny exposure. A warm and welcoming spot with fresh choices in vegetables, fresh cooked meats, and loads of other nummies. One whole room devoted to breakfast and brunch type goodies. I wish we had one of these in our town.
Great food! It’s delicious and service is fast. The only downside is it doesn’t really have a “bang for your buck.” It’s quite expensive, usually around $9-$10 per person, and the food is great, but as the semester moves forward it’s quality seems to decline. The drink selection is very good, ranging from plain water to sweet tea and even milk. Let’s not forget to mention the breakfast area that is always available during their open hours (the waffles are amazing).
Admittedly, you can get a pretty good value out of the cafe if you choose to. However, most of the time, relying on it for all your meals as a student (which is what UNF expects you to do for the most part with a meal plan) is not sustainable. The food was not always of a high quality, and their online menus were usually not accurate. You have to visit at key times of the day to get anything beyond the basics. Furthermore, their breakfast is usually pretty bad.
Nice variety of food pizza grilled food burgers chicken sandwiches black bean burgers kitchen that makes gourmet food prepared by shelves of bakery that is prepared by a pastry chef Pantry full of ice cream fruit cream cheese cereal waffles anyting you pretty much want to eat go there for lunch or breakfast or dinner you have to pay for parking and take the shuttle pretty much but you can park in the parking lot after 7 for free p.m..
The food here is pretty good. It is buffet style. Make sure you go when The Kitchen or pizza sidebar is open if not there is really only pizza, burgers, salad hotdogs and desserts. When you walk in on the left hand side before you pay the TV shows you what's on the menu to help you decide if you want to wat eat there. Breakfast here isn't worth the money in my opinion, unless of course you have a meal plan.
If you're an off-campus student like myself and you have classes all day long, then this place is great to lunch-on between classes. It's pretty much a buffet and you choose what you want to eat. Prices are decent, paid about almost $9. I don't have a meal plan since I don't live there and don't go there too often. Overall, if you're hungry and don't know what to eat, stop by the Cafe.
Was here for AVID field trip and ate lunch here. I, myself, am a vegan; and it’s great that this cafe has options for them. It’s the taste of the food that needs work: the Spanish rice is not real Spanish rice, pinto beans tasted like some kind of medicine, cilantro pesto tofu could use more flavor. The fries, smoothie, and miso soup were delicious. Please do something about your food.
Love this cafe, food is great not salty or fatty heathy items on every visit. Every time we visit our daughter at UNF. We always look forward and go, and at $10 and under its a great buffet for everyone, even vegan. Yes our daughter has unlimited meal program . Worth every cent.

A solid selection of tasty food, and all you can eat for the price. It's a convenient option when you are on the UNF campus, and cheaper than a lot of places in Town Center, even without a meal plan (dinner's about $10, and includes your drink). Salad bar, soup, sandwich bar, pizzas, grill, hot food bars (get there early in the lunch/dinner cycle for best selection).
It's ok, food tends to be hit or miss. Sometimes they don't have Almond milk or milk alternatives. Always have fruit, sometimes there's flies around it. Good food, easy food, I'd just rather eat off campus most of the time so I don't buy the meal plan. If you like the Cafe, get a block meal plan at unf or purchase a few meal swipes online, it'll cost you less.
The food is as bland as it gets and the workers serving you give you little to no food and are extremely rude. When I asked for green beans, I received literally 7 green beans. On top of that, the meat and vegetables are dry and hardly edible. Either my stomach hurts or I’m still hungry when I leave.
Pretty good food for a university cafeteria. Good selection of fresh, hot foods, vegetarian options, and decent desserts. All at a pretty inexpensive price.

Current student, the food is always the same little to no variation except in one food section, the other 3 are always the same aka stale sugary desserts that are so bland its hospital grade, decent pizza (that will be alright the first 10
Forced to buy a meal plan to live on campus and the food is ok for about the first month of living their but you get sick of the same mean every day and will learn to hate it. Contacting dinning services right now to beg to be exempt.
Decent food at a good price with everyone being warm and helpful. Can’t fault it for student eating.

Visiting for orientation. Very good selection of food. I had a cheeseburger and was very disappointed that they put cold cheese on a semi warm burger and bun was dry tasting. Not very good. Please do better.
Very diverse selection of foods. Fits all diets. Taste was pretty good. The only reason for 4 stars is that the shrimp scampi I got had way too much garlic. Literal chunks of garlic were left on the plate.
First time ever going here and the food was pretty good. I went pretty late so it wasn't full either. Will go again, it's also pretty cheap.

The price of takeout is 17 bucks for the first time...it wasn't mine for sure. Unless you have a meal-plan, you need to be careful of the days you go. Check the website for the days menu
The staff is amazing as well as their menu. We love the fresh, delicious variety they offer. Went with our friend, she is a strict vegan an enjoyed all the options she could enjoy also!
Pizza is good. I would like them to have more fruit. And lunch time should last longer, at least until 3 o'clock. Also they are always run out of orange juice. But ppl there is nice.
School cafe, pizza is constantly 'pretty good' food is hit or miss if its going to be warm or not

My son loves Osprey Cafe more than meals at home! Meal plans aren't cheap but the choices and quality (and the fact that it's AYCE) makes up for it.
It's your average buffet. Great value for students on the meal plan. However, if you don't have one be prepared to spend 10 dollars per person
The food is pretty good, but if you go after 3 pm they don’t have a lot of options.

bland food, small portions. If you go there at the wrong time of the day, they won't even be serving anything.
Everyone working in the cafe is absolutely rude. I mean everyone. You feel bad just sitting and eating.
Always a pleasant time when I go here. The food is always great and there is so much to choose from!!!
This cafe has the driest grilled chicken on planet earth. Their ice cream is pretty good though!
Some nice people work there. They do have vegitarian and vegan options. Food isn't always great.
The best ever !
