This is one of the cleanest storage facilities I have utilized within my lifetime, which is impressive considering the location and surrounding activity. Stranded possessions and trash are quickly removed and the bathrooms are tidy. The site is getting a lot of attention from the staff. They clearly appreciate the broader connection between cleanliness and security that is engendered by this level of ongoing vigilance. My unit practically sparkled when I opened it for the first time! The best prices are offered to those who pay online. If you are in a rush, I would recommend at least pausing momentarily to consider your real insurance needs before proceeding. That being said, when I encountered a frustrating and untimely obstacle while attempting to access the information I required from my insurance company in order to make an appropriate decision, Amber resolved the dilemma with promptness and grace. Celeste was very accommodating. She allowed me to stop by the site and tour the facility with a measuring tape before committing to my choice. This was incredibly important to me as I am tiny and had no idea who would be available to assist me in the moments leading up to my move. I was also curious about the dimensions of the entrances to several units—a point of concern that eventually proved to be crucial to the success of my endeavor. She was quite understanding. I happen to know Celeste personally from a previous job—I chose her as my assistant manager—and can vouch for the fact that this degree of consideration is not specific to our shared acquaintance. She is an incredibly warm and pragmatic human being who will happily attend to any sincerely expressed and legitimate need. I have never rented from US Storage before, but given the competitive pricing and overall cleanliness, this is a choice I will probably be making again in the future. I have already recommended this company to several friends. My move was fast, smooth and surprisingly upbeat… Access hours recently shortened significantly and I might suggest the company consider at least extending those new hours to 7pm on weekdays.

Got to go online to get the good deals cuz they will try to squeeze every dime out of you if you try to rent from out of the office depending on which rep you get. But it very clean and secure. There's a 50 dollar fine for hanging out that's kinda scary. But it's been ok so far. *update: horrible! Several instances of "technical difficulties" that result in no access to the storage for days even and spontaneous 15 min warnings to vacate to building for repair maintenance sometimes 4 hours before closing. Always without ever knowing when they may reopen which they don't for all for broken keypad no less. All without compensation of rent. Been yelled at and lied to repeatedly by staff and told that only one safety exit staircase is a good fire exit and they ALL will lock you in if you go I them. Found out the hard way. One staff is completely not fit for her job she's very unprofessional and has horrible customer service skills makes a person very upset and frusterated the way she handles things. And unfortunately if one staff is out of line there the two back them up n customer is left with no support or anyone to complain to because they are owned by a real estate company and they have no one in corporate to contact or any one above them that's available to contact. Try. Not to mention I heard them once tell a tenant that they were calling the police for trespassing when on his way out the door he told them they "sucked". These among other issues can help you decide on this storage. Immature. Slumlords. Hassle and frustrations.

Edit: They changed hands less than a month after moving in. I didn't review a company by this name. It was weird because I could not find them on the website to be sure my payment cleared and had to call to find out what happened. Then they sent a message about how I needed to move units, sent emails about how I'd missed payments, and other confusing things. This was NOT a smooth transition. I have a few painting projects to do and then I'm moving out of there. The point of a storage unit is to decrease the hassle, not increase it. Old Review: It was really easy to rent remotely. I filled out stuff online, they called to get information, then sent things to sign online. Then they sent me a map and left a lock in the unit. Great system during a pandemic. The building seems clean. There were lots of renters who seemed unable to keep their mask covering their nose (ugh), but that's not the fault of the facility. The building is a maze, but easy to access after entering my code a bunch of times. If you are particular about walls going all the way to the ceiling, they don't, but they have some cheesy strips of metal to make it I guess harder to get to the next unit.

Now there are new owners and it’s horrible. Reduced hours, rude employees, no carts available after the office closes. Had a pit bull chase me down the hallway and had to shut myself in my unit to stay safe. No clocks anywhere but they are militant on closing on time. The old owners were great and this was my review- Johnny was wonderful at the new location on 60th and Powell. I called at 430pm on a Saturday after looking online for a storage unit (I needed a unit on Saturday, it was a bit of an emergency for me). Not only did he return my call promptly but he had my lease documents prepared to fill out when I returned his call at 5. I was able to fill out the documents and drive down to the unit where he was ready and waiting with my keys at 528pm. Even though they were closing up he made sure to walk me to my unit and ensure I knew how to access it. It was the best service. Certainly above and beyond. Also the building was pristine and very secure feeling. The unit was just what I thought I was getting and the price was exactly as advertised including my free first month. I cannot say enough good things.

when I arrived I was impressed with how the site was designed to accommodate a variety of vehicles such as full size moving trucks as well as a few cars. it was clear where to park when you're brand new. I had problems reserving the unit size I needed and never got a confirmation text or phone call. I was feeling a little anxious about that but Johnny (i believe it was) assured me right away it was no problem. he showed me the unit I thought I'd needed and then one that better suited my needs and budget. I was immediately impressed with the practically sterile cleanlines of the brand new facility and the level of security was reassuring considering all of the uncertainty in the world world still. renting the unit was very quick and easy. I don't just say this without meaning it, I would totally recommend them and I'd feel confident that the same should be true for all of their locations. the Profesional atmospheres and service is indicative of a well run company that knows the importance of consistency and quality of customer service. on a 1-10 they scored an 11!

I rented a unit and only had access to it on about half the time because of a constant issue with the elevator and no other way to the 2nd floor. On 2 occasions i needed some tools for work and was unable to retrieve them because the door to the facility was broke and no other way in was given. The manager apparently decided to just cut out early and go home. When I was trying to move it I again ran into the issue of the bay door being broke down and staff was know place to be found. Which ment I want able to get moved out by before the end of the month. They had the nerve to me I owed them 19 dollars. I happened to look at my account and they had a strange address for me in the system. that I have never seen before. There was 3 people in the office with the same problem and while we were waiting for the lady to get off the phone we all herd her compensate someone for their issue but refused to wave or fees.. I don't recommend. This place.

*UPDATE* CHANGED FROM 5 STAR TO 1 STAR * Previously~~I was able to get a 10x9 unit for only $91 a month. Great price, great staff, easy access. I’ve never had need for storage so this is my first experience, all in all I think the process was easy and affordable. NOW: Hours decreased and price increased. Elevators, exterior roll up doors, and staff are all in need of TLC. Same unit went from $91 to $160 within the two years of my original post. Hours of access went from as late as 9pm ( I think, maybe even 10pm) down to 6pm. Better hurry after work if you want access to your stuff. One of two elevators are usually out of service. Staff need to communicate needs to corporate with more urgency, seems like they don't get support and as a recourse they don't care. I don't recommend this location. Everything after signing the contract has been a little bit of a hassle and disappointment.

WARNING- if you have a job, you cannot access the storage unit on the weekdays. Good luck. They have a hard close at 6pm with no grace. I rush to get there as soon as I can and still get a stern talking to at 5:56 if I am still finishing things up. They will even threaten to fine you for keeping them "after hours". I hardly call 6:10, after hours but what do I know. They also raise your rent before the first year is up (but get you in with a good low deal). I’m working on moving units myself, I suggest you do the same unless you have the flexibility to get to the storage unit during 9-5 hours. Amber is great but will never be there to close likely because she actually had empathy and would let people finish up and then leave. I signed on with them with the agreement that I could access my unit until 9pm. That was revoked as soon as they sold to the current owners (5 months later?)

Amber Strickland the site manager made it to where everything I own didn't get auctioned off. She really is an awesome manager and a good person. I would recommend us storage centers to all my friends family and strangers as well to check them out. She really gave me the feeling like she actually cared I was about to loose everything I own. The facility is well kept very clean nice and warm inside so no need to worry about ur belongings molding. I've been with these guys well over a year and other than the access hours closing at 6 pm I wish it went back to 9 pm. Either way that's obviously for safety reasons and making sure ur belongings are safe and storages not broken into, other than the access hours thier is absolutely nothing I can complain about. And once again miss Strickland u are an angel sent from above I can't thank you more for being the rock star u are.

I needed immediate storage and this place was close. The staff were quick in giving me a tour of the place and setting me up with a unit. I only needed the unit for a month. Access to the building was convenient with the hours being 6am-10pm, so I was able to get in and out when needed. Staff was nice, place was clean. At the end of my month the check out was quick and easy. My only gripe would be the bathroom. There should be access to the bathroom for customers. There is nothing WORSE than having to go and not being able to. I had to literally run next door to the bar and pee. I’m pretty sure the requests for the bathroom aren’t overwhelming and it wouldn’t take much to clean between customers. I know you can let people use them, I work in a public place that offers restrooms. That’s the only reason I’m giving four instead of five stars.

June 2023 - 4th price hike. January 2021 Update - Do your research as this wasn't even something I thought about when I initially picked this facility. Apparently, this company is known for their aggressive price hikes. I've only been renting for 4 months and it's already going up. Disappointing business move, especially during tough economic times. September 2020 Extra Space Storage, prior to being sold to US Storage Centers - Johnny was super helpful! Facility is clean, prices are reasonable (except for the insurance coverage/cost), & everything’s nice and new. Johnny was respectful with boundaries re:covid and thorough with the details. He was quick to show me around and answer all my questions even though the place was pretty busy when I arrived. One less thing for me to stress about while trying to organize a move. Thanks!

We moved to SE Portland & found US Storage Centers off Powell. The facility is clean & feels safe. The parking/loading area is easy to access and unload from. Amber is energetic, charismatic & helpful. We arrived 30 min before closing and she was so kind to let us stay 15/20 min late to unload our u-haul, for which we were very grateful to avoid having to extend our rental and park overnight!! Overall, this storage facility is wonderful and feels safe and has lots of options. I was able to easily set up auto pay online. The only downside of this facility is that it is only open certain hours and you cannot access it after-hours. So you have to pay attention to the opening hours! But the bright side is that there’s always someone on property during open hours. Overall one of my fav rental facilities I’ve rented with ✨

Store knowing you will be burgled. Rented a 3rd floor unit and stored some items tool boxes and bins. Returned 2 weeks later to find everything open and gone through. Valuable items were missing. I asked how this could happen and the manager plainly stated-oh they usually slip through the top. There is a man sized open gap between the unit doors and the ceiling along the entire top floor of this facility where a thief can easily slip in and out. There is nothing protecting your things. The manager stated she knows this is a problem and there’s nothing she personally can do about it. Their response was call the police but the police will not come for non active crimes or property less than $500 so because I couldn’t prove what items were missing nothing can be done. Do not store your items here.

What a great facility! Good location, good value for pricing, clean, and best of all, it feels safe. The managers Amber and Holly were both wonderful - they make a fantastic team and you can tell they genuinely care about their work and making this place a safe and pleasant experience for folks. I was in need of a storage unit due to selling my home and downsizing into an apartment. I really appreciated how Holly and Amber were so generous with their time and let me tour the building and see several different units in different configurations to determine what would ultimately work best for my needs. I toured a few storage facilities during my search for a space and this place is definitely better quality than the other typical chains.

I signed up online using my phone and was having issues due to my phone so I called the facility and the site manager answered who was very pleasant and beyond helpful during my frustration. He was able to accommodate my needs and answer my questions. I called 4 mins before they closed and he did not rush me or have a bad attitude and even offered to stay for me to come to the facility to complete my rental agreement that I was having technical issues due to my phone. Luckily we got it figured out and he was able to get out of there on time. He definitely went above and beyond and during a time like this. Very pleased and happy to know if I have anything come up he will be easy and pleasant to work with.

Amber was lovely. She was professional, friendly and apologetic to us for the wait. When I found out she was working alone I felt great compassion for her and was even more Impressed by her ability to manage multiple things at once. I spoke to someone on the phone who was helpful, but It would have been good for them to pass on to me that Amber was down a staff person. She did let me know Amber was busy cutting locks which didn't give me a true picture of situation. All in all Amber's professionalism more than made up for the wait. Initially had a good impression of this place but unfortunately over the past year all I have seen is a reduction of service and hours, an increase of rates, nonsensical additions to the terms of service, and regularly being unable to access my storage unit. Within the past month I have lost the elevator access to get to my unit twice which means that I cannot get back to my unit until the next day when someone is in office and can add back elevator access. Today I showed up and the gate was out of order with no one in the office to allow me in. If I didn’t live so close to this place and it wasn’t such a pain to move to another storage facility, I would not think twice about leaving this place.

We checked out several nearby storage units, and chose Extra Space Storage after visiting their website and noting that their location would be easy to get into and out of. The icing on the cake was the easy no-contact process of picking a unit and renting it online. Not to mention, the free first month! Once we signed up, Johnny sent us a map with full instructions on how to access our unit. They even throw in a free lock! The place is very clean and well-lit, so we feel completely safe there. This will make storing the extra stuff from our basement a breeze, and I can finally have a man cave down there! :-)

What a beautiful facility! Super safety conscious-coded loading bay, coded door into the facility and coded elevators. Unit was super clean, with walls that went ALL the way to the ceiling! I’m moving my stuff from another to-be-unnamed- orange colored storage company because their units design allowed someone to break into my unit. Well with THIS new unit, that will NEVER be a problem! Both of the office staff have gone above and beyond to help me and explain how their facility works, and the sign up process was so easy- all on line! I couldn’t be happier with my experience here.

Even though I do not have a storage unit myself sorry facility. The gentleman that assisted my friend with her unit and his customer service was phenomenal. I was really shocked, or more or less thrown off guard. walking in to use the restroom and was greeted with a smile, no attitude or judgement as quite often happens, and no hesitation to point out right where the restroom was. I also was shocked at how genuine he was when he helped my friend and how at ease she was at the end of the transaction due to his deligent work ethic and great vibe he brings to the company.

Stopped by US Storage location on 62nd and Powell saturday afternoon to check out access as I drive a large pickup. I wanted a large unit on ground level. Celeste was very helpful and answered all of my questions. It looked like access could be cramped with multiple vehicles in load/unload area but it was a saturday. Returned on sunday to rent unit. Kendle was working that day. He walked me through process and got me set up. Both employees were very professional. Sundays access to load/unload area was nearly empty. I am retired so I can use weekdays for ease of access.

I use the storage center off of Powell and 62nd. I have two units and when I rented my second unit, it was in the middle of the month thus I wouldn’t be able to access until the 1st. Amber enthusiastically showed me the unit and invited me to start using it as soon as I wanted. It was empty, clean and no one was renting it at the time. She gave me a key and was so helpful and pleasant. She always says hi to me by my name and genuinely seems happy to see me. She’s always willing to go above and beyond for the customers. She’s my “go to” person at the storage center.

I just recently worked with Celeste at US Storage and would 100% recommend her as she was a complete joy to work with!! She made the process smooth and fun, I had a wonderful time chatting with her and she is very knowledgeable which was a huge help as this is the first time I have used a storage unit before. The prices are amazing and the space is super secure. If you are looking for a storage unit in SE Portland definitely check them out as they have a great system here and the people are fantastic to work with - ask for Celeste!!

Amber Strickland at 6191 South East Powell boulevard Portland Oregon 97206 was very helpful. When I asked for TV boxes she said no that they did not have any for sale. PolitelyAsk me to wait for one moment. Went in a back storage area for one moment. Came back out to TV boxes. And told me that I didn't have to pay for them. When I told her I wasn't able to carry them in my car I would have to come back with the truck the next day she told me she would save them for me and she did. She was awesome. Thank you Amber Strickland.

I had the worse experience with the ASSISTANT MANAGER KENDALL. luckily I also got videos of him degrading customers, stepping in customers faces about hours instead of professionally communicating, and keep in mind the he got face to face with a WOMAN !!!! psychically grabbing tenants personal things off the carts they offer. I will be sending these videos to the right person and will be posting them on my social media. And definitely will be taking the right steps to go about what i experienced.

Just got back from my first visit. Signed up online, then made a quick trip to their onsite office to get my security code. Very friendly staff. They walk you through the facility and show you where to enter your security code to gain access to your space - once to park, once to get inside the building, and one if you need to take the elevator. Very secure and clean - it's a brand new building. And I like how convenient it is - right on Powell Blvd.

Joseph was awesome to work with from start to finish. He got our reservation together quickly and listened to what we were looking for before making some very well thought our recommendations. He got us into the unit same day and at a great price. Highly talking to Joseph for any storage unit needs. The facility is also nice and well maintained. Only had the unit for a month but so far it has been as advertised and a pleasant experience.

Feel completely unsafe and unsanitary. My car window got broken (the rear opposite end of windshield) which cost over 300$ to fix, but besides there not being ANY cameras visible on the second story whatsoever so that doesn’t even make it feel safe enough to grab my belongings to move into a different facility. And on top of everything it’s pretty freaking expensive compared to other facilities. I will most def be switching immediately.

Using Extra Space Storage new quick lease method was one of the easiest processes I’ve ever used. It was laid out in a very straight forward way and once I completed the process, I was immediately called for a thank you and even more explanation about the storage unit process. I highly recommend this process during the times of social distancing as it allows you to take care of all paperwork without being in the same room as others.

The office and site look new and are very clean. The employees are friendly and helpful; all of my questions were answered. My unit is inside and can only be accessed with my unique code. It is also climate controlled, which means it is heated in the winter. In the summer, due to the concrete construction, the unit will stay naturally cool without A/C. The prices are comparable and the location is a 15 minute easy drive.

it’s clean and fit my stuff but they randomly stopped letting people enter to get their stuff after 6PM… the lady left me stranded there with my mirror that was unable to fit in my car and when i tried to get back in to return it to storage unit, she wouldn’t let me in… in the midst of moving, the last thing u want is a surprise like this so make sure you call before you go because im not sure what the hours are anymore.

Everything was very straightforward and easy to complete online, so I didn't even need to go into the office which was great. Only surprise is they will hit you up for insurance in addition to the advertised cost of your space, so expect that. The facility is clean and nice. Only reason I haven't given it 5 stars yet is because we haven't moved in yet so I'm reserving that last start till I get the full experience.

So far, my experience with this storage facility has been excellent! Johnny was extremely friendly and helpful in getting me set up with a unit, and the entire process was completely contactless. The facility itself is amazingly secure, clean, brightly lit and easy to navigate. I made the right choice, choosing to temporarily store my belongings here and will use this place again, if the need arises!

Rented a 10x 15 storage unit today from the wonderful Amber who helped me with all of our needs! My storage concerns are now 100% taken care of! Update 1/25/23. I no longer am storing my items at US Storage! They close at 6pm and they literally scream at you and give you a $50 fine on your next months rent for staying a few minutes late. They are extremely rude and completely unprofessional!!!

Sketchy storage center...our storage unit was straight up broken into (they drilled the lock) and a bunch of stuff was stolen. When we informed the employee working he was non-apologetic and very rude about it. The security keypad has been broken for months and there are no security cameras in the hallways. I saw people just walking into the units from the street. Don't store your stuff here!

Amber and Holly were absolutely amazing when I came in on a emergency and needed a storage unit asap! They were really friendly and courteous to my needs. They acted promptly and even helped me bring some of my belongings to my unit. Third time in the last month that I haven’t had access to my unit because of a door code issue. No discounts on service offered or available when asked. Have also smelled cigarette smoke on the floor my stuff lives on. This is unacceptable. Company needs to apologize to customers and provide more clear communication about access, especially when the hours state I should have access.

I want to thank Celeste and Amber for all of the great customer service I receive. Keeping me informed on all the changes as well as looking out for my interest. They are always the familiar faces that we are accustomed to seeing when I frequent the facility. I hope that ownership is aware of the assets it has on its staff. Thanks again for all that you do. I called to figure out prices and how big the storage units were since I was moving and the lady I was talking to her name was Amber she was amazing answered all my questions and took her time explaining everything I needed to know if I do decide I need a storage I will definitely take me business there. I needed a same day storage unit. I logged onto their website and reserved exactly what I needed. Within a few minutes I had reserved my unit, and got access to the facility. A staff member from the storage facility called me to give me all the details. He was very courteous! The facility is very nice, clean, and safe. Highly recommend.

I just was able to rent a storage unit within 10 minutes! It was quick and easy. The site is easy to navigate and answers any questions you might have or need answered. Staff was quick to respond and helpful as well. I have to say compared to my last experience renting with a competitor this was delightful!

It was always clean and I felt like my things were secure. It was a little difficult to navigate the 6 o'clock closing time with my work schedule but it wasn't unmanageable. Just rented a unit using the online rental form. It was quick and very easy, and saved me money in the monthly rental fee! Very pleased with the process, and the manager called and emailed within moments of my completing the forms, to welcome me and answer any questions. Highly recommend.

Very quick and professional. I rented a storage unit online at night and they promptly called me the next morning to confirm. Very secure and very very clean which is important to me. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. Also very easy online process for renting a unit.

I just rented a 5 x 7 from Amber who is a joyful and sunny person. she’s just happy and here too please. There is a couple hidden fees that were a surprise to me, but I guess those are everywhere. This building is very secure and I will be comfortable Storing my belongings here.

The facility is new, clean, brightly lit, easily accessible and secure. It has multiple layers of protection to prevent unauthorized access to the building. The manager and employees are friendly and helpful. The rental process was relatively painless. Good pricing on the units.

Rapid rental made it quick and easy to rent a unit, the manager called me within minutes and was super friendly. Feeling very confident about this process, the manager was especially helpful and sent along all the documents necessary to check-in and get my keys without a hassle.

I've been using this facility since October and it's been great so far. Everyone has been very helpful and wonderful to work with. Amber and Celeste always help out if I ever have questions or need anything. Convenient location for me to start or end my day at as well.

They just changed there hour I am NOT happy about. The office staff are friendly and helpful. The prices for the units are reasonable compared to other places. The security is great little complicated at first but it's great the units are clean and so is the building.

I signed up using the “rapid rental” process and it was incredibly quick and simple. Almost immediately after submitting my payment I received a call from the office and was given a warm welcome and clear instructions on how to access my unit. Very impressed so far!

Celeste who works at the front desk is a sweetheart, helped my not only get the best deal on my storage unit, but helped a friend find some other resources across the city. Clean unit, friendly people, would definitely go here again to store stuff in the future.

I love the clean, brand-new space...friendly manager. Hours of accessibility are being curtailed in most storage spaces. I have access 6am to 10 pm. Easy in and out. But also, very secure. My last storage had 2 break-ins, with theft. Not going to happen here!

Love the staff, love the convenience, kinda hate the hours of operation (6 AM - 6 PM), but overall this place rocks! It’s clean, it’s safe, and without a doubt I know our things are safe here. Shout out to Amber & Holly, thanks for taking care of us ladies!!

Chris was great at the location on 60 something and Powell. We walked in and within about a half hour we had a storage unit. We were impressed with the security and have confidence that our belongings will be safe here. Insurance they provide is a plus.

These folks were super helpful during the process of renting my unit and helping me deal with it and take care of it. Amber the manager is super duper nice and was extremely helpful. They have carts to use for free and it's a clean place. Five stars.
