They were extremely rude and horrible to me here. I was buying two travel size mousse and when I checked out I politely declined to give my phone number because I don't have an account. Jasmine explained it was easier for returns but I let her know I won't return these (I was buying them to travel back to my hometown because my step-dad had recently passed away). Her attitude went from nice to rude right away. She wouldn't say anything else to me. I politely declined a bag because the items were small. She got my receipt shoved the items and it into my hand. I smiled and said thank you and she didn't say anything to me just glared. As I was leaving I let them know "you don't have to be mean to me because I don't want to give you my phone number" She didn't even address me and quickly turned away from me. I did not yell or act grumpy I just declined my phone number and even said please and thank you. Even when I said what I said leave I didn't raise my voice or say it angrily was just letting them know. I will never go here again and do not enjoy being treated like this.

I came in for a colour correction today with Hannah Hedgecock and Amber Mortazavi. The two of them were nothing short of a dynamic duo. They worked their magic on my hair that was in serious need of TLC. My hair colour is silver for reference and I hate brass and root. Hannah took her time in correcting my previous colour by adding highlights and toning to a perfect silver colour. Hannah listened to me and achieved exactly what I wanted. She and Amber worked together to help me achieve the exact colour I was looking for. Amber took her time to blow dry me and show the dimension in my hair. Of note- Amber has done my hair before and did a fantastic job. What I truly appreciated is that these girls both asked for my opinion and bounced ideas off each other to help me achieve the perfect look. The two were professional, outgoing and patient. Thank-you both for your time and your work!

I should have known better.... For convenience, I booked an appointment here to have a quick blow out and style weeks ago for my baby shower. I received a text message stating that my appointment was cancelled. I would have preferred a personal call to reschedule. When I called in to get clarification the person in the salon told me that I would need to book for a later time. I explained that it was for my baby shower and the time I booked had significance. She started to explain that the stylist I booked with was no longer at the company. I really don't care who blow dries my hair - it was more about having it done at a location close to my house and at the time/date I booked. Now, it is a week before I am supposed to be having the service done and it will be difficult to rebook. Terrible customer service! You get what you pay (or agree) to pay for I suppose....

I made an appointment last week for 1pm. I was in the car running a bit behind and I received their call at 1.08 saying they were canceling my appointment because they only have 15 min late policy, I called back immediately and said I was 2 min away and I would be there before 1.15pm. They told me the following appointment was already set and they already started so they couldn’t take me anymore. I had an haircut scheduled now come next client was already there? I walked inside and the manager was there. It was 1.15pm and the next lady was already cutting her hair. I’m a mom and took arrangements to be able to come to the appointment so I’m extremely frustrated they didn’t take me even if they have a 15 min policy and o was within it! I’m leaving tomorrow without an haircut. I’m not going back to this place ever!

Tamiah styles and colors my hair beautifully. She is precise and quick at her job. She has so much knowledge and calmly explains how hair dyeing works. She is so kind and personable. I was 30 min late one day and she cut, washed and blow dried my hair in 30 minutes. She is a boss lady. I know she will go far- book with her!! (But ulta, please please stop allowing clients to book online. It’s not fair to the stylist when the client has all free will to book whatever and they come in, want something else and the stylists have to suffer due to the extra time it takes away from their other clients. Tamiah did not ask me to write this I’m just advocating for her as a client and someone who also works in the service industry.)

Be careful when you buy a gift here for someone My husband made a purchase and when I went to exchange they didn't have what I wanted which was Estee Lauder products I came with my gift receipt and the Original just in case , it was all purchased with a debit card which is same as Cash and they only offered me store credit If I did not have the original debit card I explained I had the receipt and would just like the cash, luckily my husband was in the car so I called him to come in and swipe his card so the money would go back into our actt. This was literally time consuming and ridiculous and she stated it was a Ulta policy. Will never allow my daughters or husband to shop here again.

I would highly recommend Hannah H. at Ulta Beauty for anyone in need of a color and cut service. I moved to California a year ago and I'm so glad I stumbled into this Ulta location. Her skill, expertise, and friendly personality make her an absolute joy to work with, and I couldn't be happier with the end result. The color was rich and vibrant and I always receive countless compliments after leaving the salon. Throughout all my appointments, Hannah is always incredibly attentive and detail-oriented. She clearly takes great pride in her work and has a real passion for helping her clients look and feel their best. Thank you, Hannah, it's such a relief to have a stylist I can count on!

I have never been a store where I've been at a loss of words about how bad it is. The employees are useless. All of them! The guy that works there talks really loud about his personal life to other employees. The two girls I tried to get help from weren't interested in helping me. One HAD to go on a break, and the other didn't know anything about ANY of the makeup! I stood around for over 30 minutes, looking at everything and waiting for help. I received a pretty hefty Ulta gift card and was excited to buy a bunch of makeup and hair products. I left with nothing because there wasn't anyone to help me, and they didn't care. WORST STORE AND EXPERIENCE!!

I love this location. I live in Spring Valley which is basically east county, and I go only to this location to get my haircut. I've had many terrible experiences at other hair salons and the hair dressers dont really listen to me or care enough to be honest about the way things will look. So you can always count on SARAH, for an honest and always amazing haircut. She is attentive and caring. She will ask you before she does anything and always give her honest opinion and I trust her 100%. Thank you Sarah if you see this, I'll see you again soon (:

I am a long time Ulta salon client (15 plus years) but have been traveling for the last two years and have had to find new Ulta stylists when I find myself in a new city. The first Ulta stylist I tried in San Diego didn't quite seem to get my color or cut right. Hannah, on the other hand, gave me a beautiful cut and color, with highlights and lowlights. She has made me feel like a new and more confident woman with my gorgeous bob. I'm looking forward to staying in San Diego for a while and having Hannah as my stylist.

If I could I would give it less than a star I went today to the store with my friend and my sister went in ti buy something’s she needed and I tagged along with my friend I was planning on making a purchase myself but the security African American and the worker she’s mid size chubby with blond hair in a bun made me and my friend feel uncomfortable so we left the store. We’ve shopped at Nordstrom Macys and Tumi they as well have security but we never get followed like they did at Ulta. Extremely uncomfortable.

I had one of the best customer service experiences in my life at this store. I came into the store with a long list of cosmetics that I needed to buy. The General Manager saw that it was taking me a long time to find the products I needed so she came over and assisted me in finding the items. I didn't even have to ask! In this day, getting assistance like this is almost unheard of. Thank you to the General Manager with the blonde hair and blue eyes - sorry, I am terrible with names!

This store location used to be awesome but everything has turned for the worse. I spent my birthday gift card here and I won't be coming back ever again. no one greets you at the store, it's empty with barely any customers, the testers are dirty and not kept up to date, the associates are not eager to help and the store manager loves to stalk customers and eavesdrop on your conversation. Avoid this Ulta location

I usually have a good experience at ULTA but yesterday had the best. Jessica was amazing. I needed skin care help for dummies. She gave me different options and step by step what to do with new products. She has beautiful skin and we are close in age so I feel confident in my purchase but as always ULTA makes returns easy especially during these difficult times of not being able to test anything out.

On 03/08 an employee of this location let someone named Angelica Rodriquez use my account (a Texas based address, and a name not even close to Anjelica Rodriguez) and steak all 3250 of my rewards points. This means that an employee saw Caitlin Steffens and a Texas address on the account, and still allowed this person to change the name on my account and steal $183 worth of ULTA merchandise.

I hate this Ulta Beauty in Clairemont the people are rude and snooty. Unless you are dressed up they treat you very badly. I have never had a good experience here and don't feel like driving to La Jolla or Fashion Valley so I do not go very often anymore. All I can say is "Get over yourselves you are just salespeople and not even good ones" Everyone here needs a lesson in customer service.

On 5/21 I had an appointment for my wedding hair and makeup with Amber and she did not disappoint! She was friendly and professional! She did a great job with the help of the brow specialist and the girl who helped me at the counter was also pleasant. I’m happy with the services I received and would go back just to see that team.

This Ulta is clean, gracefully arranged, and has very friendly and helpful staff. I was looking for an item and this incredibly gorgeous young man read my mind and found exactly what I wanted instantly. When he smiled at me, his long dark hair fell over his shoulder and I could hear Enya music. I highly recommend this place.

Omg I've never been in that store and everyone was so nice and helpful even the cashier guy unfortunately i didn't get his name. And I'm so excited for my appointment at the salon!!! Every time I'm in this store i feel like I'm being followed and looked at like I'm trying to steal something. The employees are up in my face to the point of harassment. Today was the first time since Christmas time that i went into Ulta because of this, and today was no different. I won't shop there again.

I love Hannah who colors, cuts, and styles my hair. The cut is always quality and lasts. That may sound odd but it's true of a good cut. The stylist team works great together. They bounce ideas and techniques off of each other, which I appreciate plus they help each other. Great vibe in the salon.

My favorite place to shop for all things beauty related and gifts for others. The employees here are always very helpful and friendly. I love that I can buy drug store products and high end designer products at the same place! They always have some kind of special going on.

Love our ULTA at the Clairemont Square. The employees are always so pleasant. You're greeted upon arrival and helped with any questions you may have. There's such a vast assortment of items, brand names, to choose from. It's always a fun experience shopping at ULTA.

I asked the lady at the register who was sitting on her phone if they sold hair color remover wipes. She said they did not sell anything like that. I walk down a few aisles and find hair color remover wipes. Thought that was pretty ridiculous.

I got a haircut from Tamiah and I love the way it turned out. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. I would definitely recommend her and will be rebooking with her in the future.

I was annoyed that he asked me how to pay for my order, because I did it with my money, that should not be asked. I only ask that they be professional and leave the package in the car, and ask only for the ID. it made me uncomfortable.

Go to Renee to get your hair done and Vanessa to get a first-rate facial. They do excellent work and are a joy to talk to. This store is the most orderly Ulta I've even been in and is usually quiet so you can actually enjoy browsing.

Probably won't be back to this location Store was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon. I couldn't find an employee to help me find a new fountain. At other locations, they are much friendlier and I can always find help.
