Filthy workshop. My story is below if you wish to read. Had just moved into the area a couple of years ago and took my car there because my engine had overheated. Was told that I needed to replace the head, the belts, thermostat, some of the hoses and oil filter, fluids etc and would cost me $1650. 5 days later, received the car back. Checked under the bonnet and found that the oil filter was dirty and had original logo on it, 1 of the belts were worn. Called head office and complained. Was told to go to Ultra Tune Dandenong who checked out the car, confirmed that some of the things I was charged for was not done, replaced them, gave the car a service and gave it back to me. The engine lasted 300km. Car overheated again. Called the head office and complained again. Was told there was no way that it was their fault. They eventually agreed to tow the car to their workshop in Hallam. By this stage the new owners had come in. It turned out that when the head was put back together, all the valve stems were bent. So they agreed to fix it under warrantee and that should be that. But it wasn't. 2 months later it overheated again. So my partner went up to the Hallam workshop with the car again. We found out that the Franchisee's wife had passed away suddenly which we were shocked by (Joyce was a lovely person, and extremely professional), however, to leave the car and they (the new manager) would have a look at it and let me know. Received a call from him a couple of hours later to which he told me the car was dead and it should be junked. He would see to it that Ultra Tune would not take any responsibility for the engine, take it away, never want to see it again. It cost me a further $2100 to replace the engine because by now it was too far gone to fix. Thanks Ultra Tune Hallam for not fixing my car, not once, or twice but 3 times. 17th of Jan we spoke to Rod over the phone twice regarding open pay. My partner elected to take his car here for the sole reason that he would be able to use open pay. Dropped the car off on the 21st of Jan. My partner received a call from Rod on the 23rd of Jan regarding a transmission for his car, during this call my partner confirmed again he would be using open pay. Received another call from Rod on the 31st regarding the car being ready to pick up, my partner organised to get it the following day between 8am-12pm. We arrive on the 1st of Feb at 10:40am to retrieve the car as discussed the previous day, and ultra tune Hallam was closed. We headed home while trying to get in touch. Shortly after, we receive a call back from Rod and are told we can head down to get the car. We arrive back at ultra tune Hallam and Rod greeted us. We sat down with him and he asked how we would be paying. My partner responded with open pay. Rod immediately became agitated by this. I said that I thought he was aware. Rod then slammed his hands on the table, leaned towards me and said “You want to push me?” Rod went on to argue with my partner that he had never spoken to us about open pay even though he had specifically given his name over the phone when discussing it with us. I’ll also mention that there are open pay stickers on the front door as you enter. In the end he reluctantly set it up for my partner, aplologized, and we were able to take the car home. Regardless of this I left feeling shaken by the whole interaction and would absolutely never return.

This business is a rip-you-off as much as we can business. The quote I received to change rotors was 4.5 hrs worth of work whereas other mechanics quoted 1hr to 1.5 hrs for the same job. I walked away and the owner followed me to my car and was rude and basically decided he would yell at me because I was not prepared to be ripped off. This business tries to charge extremely out of the norm. In addition, I didn't get the vibe that they are competent. Reading other Ultra Tune online reviews verifies what I experienced. In pure honesty, I advise everyone not to allow these scammers to touch your car or your hard earned money. It is a fact you will get ripped off and I'm sure they will look for other non-existent problems to charge you for once your car is with them. This Ultra Tune (Hallam) business is not even a 1 star rating as the rating shows. I could not post without clicking on a minimum one star. The truth is that it is a zero star business meaning avoid with conviction!!! The five star reviews you see on this page are all fake. They are done by this Ultra Tune Franchise itself. This in and of itself highlights my point.

I went here to service my Mini Cooper in late June this year. I was told everything was running smoothly, a basic to medium service was done where I paid $797.. next day after, a red signal appeared in my car indicating wrong tyre pressure and my car had a burning smell.. I came back several times, and eventually (on my third visit) tyre pressure was "fixed" and signal disappeared for a few days but not the smell.. Days later, another signal appeared. I went to another mechanic (trusted by my family) he said that my car hasn't been serviced (pretty much at all) and needed really basic things like oil.. and the red signal that was appearing was due to the breaks needing replacement. So, basically I paid $797 for nothing and ended up dealing with someone who didn't know anything about a mini. If you have a mini or BMW, this is not the place for you.

Went to Ultra Tune Hallam late this afternoon requiring urgent assistance for my Ford FG F6. The guys at Ultra Tune literally dropped everything to help out with my situation. What turned out to be a fairly easy fix, was dealt with immediately and with complete professionalism. They refused any payment because they felt is was only a minor problem! This would have to be the BEST experience I've ever had with a mechanical workshop. Hat's off to you Ultra Tune Hallam and a big thank-you. In future, I will now bring all my family cars for service to you and recommend you to all my family and friends.

Caller Brett in regards to repairing a tyre that had a nail stuck in it. He told me to bring the car down and he would happily take a look at it. Although where the puncture was ment that the tyre couldn't be repaired, he was so helpful explaining why and what my options would be. He then put the spare tyre on free of charge and said he wished he could help more. I will definitely be back for this kind of service. Thanks guys

I recently moved in to the area and originally gave them my Volvo XC90 to service. The feedback and advice i got from them was thorough and well explained. Subsequently they have now performed servicing and repairs on my wife's Mercedes and my Jaguar. I have not had any issues with them and found their pricing to be very competitive and their service to be top notch. Will continue taking my cars there

The best way to describe the guy I dealt with is “easily frustrated”, rude, loud and not helpful at all. Poor attitude, all he did was complain about the job, which only took about 5 mins and actually would have been done faster if he had listened the first time. Won’t be back, that’s disappointing
