So let’s start with the good: The late hours are the best in the city. Especially on weekends. The number of bays means I’ve never had to wait to get a wash. The dual-sided vacuums with differing attachments are grade-A. The payment systems are a breeze. Now, the reasons Uncle Ike’s Car Wash is not five stars: The touchless washes are just okay with the wash, but the rinsing and drying may as well not exist. Not only does my SUV come out still incredibly wet afterward, it’s also still seriously soapy in parts, mainly the back and near the mirrors. The “drying” is technically an attempt at drying, but the pattern and the half-hearted air blown just move your water (and soap) around. I truly wish for a self-service bay after a wash just to really rinse my car off. Unfortunately, they replaced their self-service bays with more half-hearted touchless washes. Can’t beat the hours, can’t beat the location, but I can’t say it’s the best wash I’ve experienced. Not even close. Still, I will be back since their vacuums are such a value.
Only ?2 of their stalls are open, both of which are the auto wash which cost $20 and does a terrible job. None of their vacuum pumps are working. And there are no signs up to indicate any of this, just closed doors, parked cars, a few cones, and a lot of folks who just looked confused when I asked what was going on. Only after I tried turning on one of the vacuums did someone come up to tell me they weren't working, and he just kept telling me I should have seen the cones covering ~2 out of 5 parking spots and figured out that the vacuums weren't working (even though they were working and turned on). After driving 20 minutes to get to this car wash I ended up having to drive another 20 minutes and paying another $20 to get an actual car wash. Save your time and go somewhere else, or at least maybe wait and come back when they are actually functionally open?
I used to come here weekly, vacuuming about 1x per week and washing, with self wash, about 1x/2weeks. With the self wash, I was able to spend as much time to wash in the wheel wells, etc, and really get what I needed clean. With the 4 or so self wash bays and 1-2 auto wash bays, most of the time there was a wait for the self wash bays, so its hard to imagine that there was really so much demand for it. I think its cheaper to run the self wash bays, they don't clean as well, so people will come back more. Also, since I need to vacuum more, now I can no longer visit as you cannot access the vacuums without paying for the wash first. I will have to go to Brown Bear to use the vacuums, but they are cheaper and they have towels so I can clean the inside better anyways, without having to take and wash towels.
$20 car wash and my car still had soap and water on it. I asked the lot attendant if it’s normal to have soap on my cat after going through the wash and he said it was “RainX water repellent” and will bead off when you drive…I know the difference between RainX and soap. I did appreciate the lot attendant offering to send me through the wash again but I didn’t see the point. It also did not get the debris under my wipers and when I closed my driver door all the debris got blown onto my wet hood. I also noticed a lot of spots that still had pollen. Very disappointing and a waste of $20. I thought I’d support the local business but I’ll stick to Brown Bear. *Picture is taken after driving 2 miles and in 75 degrees*
Paid 20$ for a car wash, but it didn't clean my car and also left scratches on it. Yeah, it took some dirt and some dust, but it's not even close to be clean! There are still some stains and dirt, even my front windshield hasn't been absolutely clean. As for scratches, they are not deep, they are small soft scratches, but around all of my exterior. And it's FIRST CAR WASH of this car, since the dealership. It has less than 1 thousand miles on it! It's brand new. And now I have to pay a hefty sum for polishing and waxing my car just to get rid of what your automatic car wash has done. Thanks! Below are the pics of how good is your premium car wash.
Clean car wash with lots of features. Low score is for two reasons, 1) The hose on the brush was too short to completely wash my Kia Optima, I had to finish the small areas at the corners with spray wash and a towel at the end. 2) The price was very high for what was an average/standard car wash. I paid $18 to spray down, brush wash and rinse my car. I tried the “Air Shammy” which is a very cool idea, but not nearly powerful enough to be useful. This was was a cool idea, and a really nice clean car wash, but not worth the huge price difference compared to Brown Bear Self Serve washes.
If you use this car wash with a card be prepared to call this 1800number about the charge. There is a red button on the machine which says "button must be pressed to stop charges", but if you press it, it would shut off the machine immediately on you, and still send a charge of $5 minimum. Little do they tell you also that their authorization is for $25, also. And the guy at the car wash won't be able to turn the machine back on for you. Avoid this scam of a business, moreover there is a ton of manual car washes in Seattle which would run off of $2-3 deposits only.
They recently updated their name to Uncle Ike's car wash. I think they got bought out by the pot shop down the road. Clean, reliable machinery, good prices. Only reason I didn't rate five stars is because the super awkward entrance. If you just want to use the vacuums you have to pull in the entrance and drive through one of the self-service carwash bays to get to the vacuums. On a busy day you either have to sit there and wait 15 minutes just to drive through an empty bay or illegally pull in the exit.
Edit for useful information: there are no more self service wash bays. The owner has gotten ridden of them. Don't come here looking for a coin op / DIY wash. Both self service wash bays are down currently and there's no proper way to get out of the parking lot when you realize this fact side they're closed off completely and you can't just pull through. Really sleazy to try to force you into using the automatic washes, which just isn't an option for people with modified or high end cars.
Had a great experience with one of the employees. I came in with a truck with ladders on looking originally for a self car wash bay but didn’t find one and he helped navigate me to the correct bay and take off the ladders because he knew I drove a long way. He really went out of his way to help me out which was much appreciated. Besides the customer service the touch less wash was fast and did a great job. I would go back just for the customer service alone
With 2 automatic car wash machines and 5 self-wash stations, Uncle Ike’s is a super spot to keep your car spotless. No hassles. Exchange dollars for tokens to use the machines. $1 = 1 token. You can easily wash your car for $8 if you know what you’re doing. $10 if it’s your first time. Purchase anything you’re missing to clean car details from a vending machine. For $2 you can get wipes specifically for windows, leather and plastic interior.
Was heading out in the early morning for a weekend road trip. Walked to my car to find that a bird must’ve been in a tree above and left me with a windshield of less than ideal visibility. Ike’s is down the way from me so went through. Did a decent enough job, not my first choice for car wash spots and a bit pricey for how the car comes out looking but, it came through for what I needed at the time so I could jump on the freeway and jet.
I had been coming here occasionally when it was a DIY car wash. Yesterday I was very surprised that all the bays had changed to automated car washes. What was even more surprising were the prices which ranged from ~$18-$22. I opted to give it a try and ultimately my car still had soap on it and wasn't clean. What a waste of time and money. I ended up going to a Brown Bear later in the day for less money to actually get my car cleaned.
My experience for drive through wash: I have gone to brown bear my whole life and am loyal, but I was close to this car wash so I thought it would give it a try. While my car was not scratched like other reviews claim, it was still disappointing for $18. This machine is much more rickety than what I am used to at brown bear, did not clean my car as well, barely dried it, and was 1.5x cost. I will not be coming back.
Got a Gold soft touch wash since the do it yourself bays were out of order and touchless is universally bad. It totally missed the bottom sides of my car. I wasn't crooked or anything, it just couldn't reach them(?). Anyway, the brushes aren't brushes, they are some weird rubber thing that flop against your car. Until that changes, you'll likely see a lot of poor reviews. Its just bad. Would not return.
Paid $16 for their best auto Wash (the one that touches the car, not just the sprayers) and not only were there multiple large areas on the car that was not cleaned but there was a two foot wide section on the back of my car that wasn't even touched! I drive a small SUV, nothing huge but it totally missed a huge section. I had to go home and hand wash all the missed spots. Terrible wash!
Embarrassing. Insulting. I can’t even comprehend- This is literally the WORST car wash I’ve ever been to. I paid $22 for the most premium wash and it didn’t even clean the car in the slightest It still has DUST AND CAT PRINTS ON IT Absolutely garbage car wash can’t even wash a CAR for $22!! I will never even return to Ike’s other shops just out of spite for this what the heck man
It’s a Cash grab not worth the money. You can’t use the vacuum bays unless you pay the $20 to use the automatic car wash so your end price is looking like almost 30 bucks for a vacuum. Also they’re getting rid of the self wash stations . Better off going to a brown bear car wash. No one is buying “by customer demand” is the reason for getting rid of the self wash stations.
Don't take a Mazda through unless you're using the "touchless" option. I forgot to check for touchless and received some scratching on a door handle. My car was 90% clean from the platinum wash. There were definitely a few missed spots. Overall, it's adequate if you're looking for an easy wash and don't care about minor scratches (or have a car with thicker paint).
1st time here got 2 new Soft touch machines does great there is also a touch free bay I didn’t use it’s so I can see how good it does it did a great job cleaning the car but wasn’t worth $18 too expensive but I’ve seen worse prices for junker machines come here avoid the ghetto shell down the road …
This place has rocks in their brushes that will leave scratches all over your car. My review is not bogus or nonsensical. I grew up nearby and visited all these businesses in the last few weeks while visiting family. There used to be great local black owned businesses and now they’re all part of Ian’s evil empire. Cheers and happy holidays.
This car wash has gone downhill since it was purchased by Ike’s. It’s expensive and they’ve removed most of the self service wash stalls. The two that are left are closed most of the time. The automatic washing is over priced and doesn’t clean well. What happened to the good ole days where we spray and scrub our cars by hand?!
My go to spot for getting a touch-less car wash! Went in today for a much needed car wash and used the touchless option. A couple spots were missed and Alandrus noticed and he took the time to help resolve them by being so detailed and precise. I really appreciate his help and will definitely be coming back to this location!
Not a fan of touchless so I did the original brush style wash. Kid at the store didn't spot wash the bird poop and said it would come off... Well it didn't, actually a lot wasn't cleaned. Paid 20 bucks to end up cleaning my car myself. This is basically a hose down and that's it. Go somewhere else.
Used this car wash for the first time last week and ended up with a scratch on the front passenger side of my hood in the track that the mop arms take, paint chipped too. Also, the suction power on the vacuum was weak. Stating the obvious, but I won't be returning again.
Probably worth driving somewhere else. Used the touchless wash today and it didn’t even get my windows clean. (Paid $18 to get my car wet I guess) I have used the manual wash bays and they seemed to work ok (all of the functions I used), the downside there is the cost.
Great carwash. Did self service and they have all the settings I wanted and more. Was really clean. Kinda pricey ended up spending 24 dollars in about 20 minutes, but I did 3 different settings before I used the brush and rinsed so seems like you get what you pay for.
I was shocked to notice paint removed from the hood from vigorous brushes and read reviews to see others had the same experience so BEWARE! . Vacuuming only with a credit card. Does not take quarters. Okay detailing area though. Often busy on weekends.
They're getting rid of the bats to wash the car yourself and the automatic one does a terrible job. Unfortunate because there aren't many options nearby. They should've decided to keep a couple self wash bays instead of going full automatic.
If you're in a rush and need an automatic car wash then go here. Other than that it's one of the worst car wash in Seattle. I paid $18 dollars for the Basic car Wash then it didn't even scrubbed the dust in my red car, plus the blower
Came here because there aren’t many self service options in this area and I needed to give my very dirty old car a proper scrub, not just a drive through. The attendant was very helpful and gave me tips on the best approach. The self
$20 and my car isn’t clean. I agree with some of the other reviews that the touchless method isn’t as effective. Most car wash places I just looked at average 4+ in reviews scores. I should have done that before going. Disappointing.
The attendants were super helpful and nice! They washed the wheels to my car before even entering the wash. They also made sure I was in the Automatic or Touch-less lane so that my car would washed appropriately. Thanks Ike's!
Uncle Ike's is an awesome car wash! The staff was very helpful, and the owner gave us personal attention and went out of his way to be of assistance when we experienced a problem with our vehicle. 10/10 would go back
This is the PERFECT car wash!!! Because it gives you options all do it yourself. The one that doesn’t touch the car is our favorite! We highly recommend it …
They appear to be closed. We have driven by 3 times in the past week during business hours and each time they have cones blocking the entrance. I would avoid and go somewhere else with reliable hours.
Went to use the self service vacuums and they said you can’t unless you buy a car wash. Worker was nice, but it’s a ridiculous policy to have to pay for an overpriced car wash to use the vacuum.
Paid $12 for my car to look like it hasn’t been washed at all. This automated car wash only uses pressure washing (no giant brushes). Better to use the self-serve car wash bays. Bummer!
Scammers! Their DIY car wash price is listed as $10 but they charged me $30. When I contacted them about refunding my $20, the never bothered to return my call. I will never return.
The equipment damaged and dented my car. I also paid for a premium wash and my vehicle was still really dirty when I came out to dry it. I am so angry about this. Avoid at all costs.
You have to wash your car yourself. So it will require you to have good arms not to be sore the next day. Also take your time if you want a sparkling shiny car after it.
Such a rip off. $18 and car is still completely dirty. There is a Circle K down the street for $10 that actually brushes your car. Save your money.
Abdul was quick to help me out and was very kind. Thank you! The self service stalls are currently being converted into touchless automatic
Did the self wash aisle 2. Half of the things didn't work, basically just rinsed my car for 27$ insane!!! Brown bear is 10000x better
No car vacuum unless you buy a full wash. Also, the clearance for the car height is super low so a lot of vehicles won’t fit.
Tried the touchless car wash and it’s very bad for $18. Doesn’t clean wheels or below a certain height.
Cleaning was bad!!!!! Vacuum 1.25$ per minute. No napkin or towels!!! Do not recommend!!!!!!! Never
