The United staff at the Albuquerque sunport airport was the worst least professional staff I’ve ever encountered in any circumstances. They closed the gate to the flight early and staff left early. We literally were at the gate 2 minutes before it was supposed to be closed and the plane was still sitting at the gate. Two other people were in the same predicament because they never announced over the intercom anything about boarding. The employee was walking away and was rude and no help. From 3:30pm on there wasn’t a single United employee at the airport even tho there was supposed to be until 10:30pm. We were promised at least a food voucher when speaking with a United employee over the phone and never received one because there wasn’t a single United employee at the airport. We were told someone would be there at 7pm when a flight comes in and this never occurred. We had the whole airport looking for a United employee from 4pm on to no avail. At that point when we gave up on the food vouchers, we went back to the food court for it to be closed already. The next morning after sleeping in the airport all night without eating, the United employees (when finally there) were rude and said it was our fault at first. That 8am flight didn’t close boarding until 10 minutes after it was supposed to be over and didn’t leave the gate until 8:05. Overall, I will never fly United from Albuquerque again and I recommend no one else flies United from Albuquerque either.
Heads up this post is not for this airport but one of United employees!! I want to take this time to thank you Mr. Sahid, he’s a lead in the baggage claims department. On 8 August 2023, I dropped off 5 bags to the Houston IAH airport, due to my overseas rotation. Long story short I’ve called United Airlines daily, I was given the same speech your bag is in route, you’ll receive it today. Until 12 August 2023, I spoke with Mr. Sahib he confirmed my bag was present at the United Airline terminal in Houston Texas, him and I confirmed the contents in my bag. Let me explain what he did different, reached back to IAH, spoke with a rep there unfortunately I didn’t get that reps name. They confirmed my bag was placed on the plane. He then, he as in Mr. Sahib then informed me of the flight number and the arrival time. This allowed my bag to be picked up! Mr. Sahib please consider this my thank you and please be aware I am extremely appreciative for your time, service effective communication and experience. Your cohorts could learn a lot from you!
I actually like flying United. I go back and forth to Denver a lot, giving me Southwest, Frontier, and United as options. I can’t stand Southwest’s seating/ boarding policies, and Frontier charges extra for everything, making United the most cost effective option most of the time. As a silver member (their lowest elite frequent flier status), I almost always get upgraded to first on this route, an overweight checked bag, priority luggage, and priority boarding. Their staff in Albuquerque is generally friendly- same with Denver. Their check-in process though can be pretty annoying, at ABQ that sometimes want to charge me for my bag and at DEN their kiosks freeze and even employees struggle to try and help. Sure, I’d prefer to fly Delta, but I like United more than American Airlines and I love not having to fly through Dallas.
If I could give less than a one, I would. United Airlines has locked my 94 year old grandmother out of her account and won't let her use her miles because she doesn't have access to her email at home. I have explained to them that she can't access her email at home (she does it at my mom's) and they want her to send her photo i.d. to them with her account number! There is no way that she will do that. She doesn't trust people with her identity and I don't blame her. It's unfortunate that she can't use the 100,000's + miles that she has to see us! One of the biggest airlines in the world can't resolve this and WON'T resolve it. How are the elderly population who aren't technologicly savvy supposed to use things that they have earned when there's no way of getting access to them?! Ridiculous!
In our last travel we used United and American airline. United always answered when we called for any changes in a timely manner and were very polite. United airline was pretty comfortable And the staff was great. I Will be using United Airlines next time. Also, the kids enjoyed the TVs in airplane. On the other experience I had for American airline they don’t pick up the phone in a timely manner, our stroller was missed placed, there was no TVs for the children, and both of the flights were late, we also had to rushed (sprinted)to one of the other airplanes before they departed. I recommend United Airline.
I cannot put into words how much of a dumpster fire of a company United is. I’ll gladly pay 500% more to fly with literally anyone else. Delayed our flight last minute because they couldnt staff the plane then put us on a later flight that makes us miss our reason for traveling. Reassign me a middle seat. Customer service hung up on me 3 times. They only have 1 person working anywhere at the airport and of course, no refund or credits. Spend the money to fly with someone else.
My flight to Denver, CO ended up in Albuquerque, NM because they didn't have enough fuel to make it to Denver. The flight got pushed to the next day. They gave us all vouchers for a hotel and $7 for dining. They said Applebee's would take it. Applebee's didn't take it because they say United hasn't been paying them. This is my second United flight in a row that has been rerouted and canceled.
Terrible service in Albuquerque. Ineptitude and plain lack of knowledge lead to disservice. If you can, avoid United airlines service in Albuquerque. Lost our baggage even though we never got on an airplane. Some type of United subsidiary handles the work so not traditional United employees.
I was well taken care of after missing my connection in Houston, with a nice hotel and meal vouchers. The airplane I was put on today was inexcusably dirty. There was plenty of time between flights to run a vacuum; there was no reason for the floor to be covered in pretzels and crumbs.
They were so helpful to me! I had a orthopedic boot on my right foot and from my 1st flight home to my last they helped me board and had a wheelchair waiting for me and took me to my next gate. They were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely recommend and fly with them again!
no option to pay by card. you have to use their app and fix Profile on. do not live in the USA do not wish to be your customer . lucky that I am not traveling far with you. in Norway we have terminals to pay at. Can't say the cabin crew were helpful either but what do you expect...
The ladies working today at the check in counter were rockstars!! SFO flight cancelled due to weather but they managed to rebook me after trying to get me scheduled onto another carrier (even though they didn't have to)! 5 stars!
don't trust this airline, they love to overbook and make you look bad when they make the mistake, ask the doctor they knocked on conscious when they forcefully dragged him out of the plane for sitting in his own seat
I've flown with United over 20 different occasions and not once have they been on time..I would avoid them if I could , but my company books with them..Avoid them if you want to ever be on time
Failed to meet expectations were unable to help with rebooking return flight after our original flight was delayed no refund no rebook only wanted to charge double on return flight.
United Airlines, and probably most other carriers, DO NOT HAVE HUMANS ANSWERING THE PHONES! Absolutely pathetic service. Whatever happen to the "Friendly Skies" airline?
Horrible service, my flight was late making me almost miss my layover flight. Seats are uncomfortable. I got a seat which didn't recline. Never I am flying United.
Not impressed at all!!! Lousy service...very impersonal. Not a smile...any attention...yuck. What happened to customer service. Fly Southwest...
They cancelled my 8 AM flight last night at 10:47. Of course, I was already asleep. Got up at 5 and went to airport only then to be informed.
They wanted to charge me for baggage even though the terms of my United credit card state that myself a one other get 1free bag each
Couldn't even leave on time at an empty airport on a Monday afternoon. No notification on why we were being delayed.
Severely understaffed. Rude gate operator closed door early and caused multiple folks to miss their flight
Waited in line for 20 minutes to check bags. Absolutely no one around it was frustrating
Good flight. Inadequate device charging all around. Wi-Fi should be free on planes.
I was travelling with my four kiddo's. The studious were very polite and helpful.
Customer service needs to be retooled. Felt like a number instead of a person.
Left on time, arrived on time. That's about all one can hope for any more.
Awesome flight great service highly recommend …
You are going to see Helpful and lots of smily faces
It was okay but the planed were small and packed.
