SO, Honestly I NEVER write reviews unless a place has left a lasting impact on me. First off is there no proper or standard phone etiquette and answering methods in practice? I was legit on hold for 65 mins and I had to have two of my friends call and get placed on a long awaited hold until we got someone. Second I know I was definitely frustrated and came across not so peppy at the time the "PM Supervisor" felt that it was okay and just to talk over me and righteously yell or snark at me because I was upset. I manage and work in front end retail so I get it upset customers are the last thing that anyone wants to deal with but, AS A PERSON IN CHARGE your job is to calmly and effectively diffuse the situation and figure out a common ground to please the consumer not add to their frustration. I do it all day everyday. If you don't want to put in the time or energy hey go work somewhere else? This just further illustrates how horrid corporate facilities are and operate! Maybe if the staff was happy and properly trained on these situations and instances they would much better know how to critical think and go about things. People are humans and humans have emotions and feelings and I think people at work forget that. It's not your job to coddle people but, it is your job duty to make that person feel welcomed and like you "attempted" to do any and everything in your power to rectify the situation. All I wanted to do was pick up my package before it was delivered because my items have been stolen each and every single time I use the USPS and to stop this I was being proactive and instead the manager talked down to me and made me feel like a 5 year old little girl who has no business being upset. I'm human and as a human I have emotions which I'm pretty sure i'm allowed to have? But, shout out to the PM Manager! I hope that if you ever come into my place of work no one ever makes you feel incompetent or belittles you for your frustration! :)
Felt the need to go out of my way to put up a review because the experience was just that bad. Didn’t know it could be so hard to hand someone a letter ask them to stamp it and send it out. First the woman at the desk was about to put Christmas stamps on the cards without asking, and when I said “oh no, please no holiday specific stamps, some of the recipients are Jewish” … then she proceeds to try to put Hanukkah stamps on on the cards. I asked “ don’t you have any non-secular stamps?“ next she tries to put on little puppy dogs holding hearts. … I don’t think it’s unfair to ask for a non-theme stamp. And again said “ is there not a plain standard USPS stamp? that isn’t a holiday” she insists that if I want any other stamp, I must pay for an entire role. I said OK. And she proceeds to slap American flags with FREEDOM in all capital letters onto the middle of every single envelope, almost overlapping the addressees names that I carefully had written on the envelopes in the best handwriting, I could for them to look beautiful and professional. Now they will look like a political campaign… I let it go and left… but seriously. Hard to imagine worse Customer Service.
Three stars because when you are being helped by an associate, they do their job efficiently with no gimmicks. Of course the process is smoother if you go with all the required documents to submit your application. Like many others here have stated, the wait is definitely long around 2 hours or more, depending on how many people there are. There are no public bathrooms but there is a waiting room with vending machines. If you need to use the bathroom, your best bet is to go across the street to the Taco Bell before you are close to entering the building because you won't have any other opportunities to do so afterwards. To make it easier on yourself, have your documents and form of payment ready and you'll be out when it is your turn to be assisted. You can find the application (DS-11) in the actual post office since the Passport office is separated. Fill out the forms beforehand and once you are ready to go, all you'll have to do is wait. Do note: you have to go early. Otherwise if it is really full, the associates will cut off the line a few hours before especially on weekends even though they close at 5 PM on Saturdays.
This company needs to be terminated. An absolute blatant way of attitude is an end. I had to ship a very small but important item internationally as soon as possible. They had an option to ship it within 3 to 5 business days to be delivered, and I chose it. After waiting more than 10 business days, the item is still in the USA, and they just send from one state to another. Called a customer service, and she was a nice person, but she told me it's not guaranteed. I paid too much money to it ASAP, and they're playing with it. Possibly I'm going to sue this company. Update: Called another time. The agent or the manager wouldn't listen to me for 15 days. Checked the options to sue this company. Boom, they have federal immunity, and nobody can sue them. Going to ask the authority to deal with their disabled/lame federal mail service and correct their attitude.
Place is horribly unorganized. There are only three passport processing agents for about 200 people. We made line to have our applications double checked and the lady forgot to give us a number. When we realized a number was needed we went back and she assigned us # 44 when we were part of the first 20 people to come in early. Very unprofessional, slow and poorly managed institution. You would think that for the amount of money we have to pay for each passport the government would have a better working system in place, but I guess that would be too much to ask. Avoid coming here and just process everything through the mail, so much better then coming here and wasting 5 hours of your life all for the ineptitude of the system and employees.
Received a notice that they were suspending my mail because the dog accidentally got out, one day. The notice said to contact Daniel Serrato by phone or email. Well, I've called, emailed, gone to the post office, complained, all to no avail. Now, not only are they not bringing the mail, but they are telling Amazon that our packages were delivered when they weren't! I'm guessing they are just stealing what they want and lying about delivery. I did get one box of chips, but it was open and some were missing! It should be illegal, but they are accountable to absolutely no one. I hope they go out of business and that right soon!
I went in serval times for mailing needs but I just went in for my passport appointment and honestly, when you make an appointment everything goes so smoothly. Everyone was so nice to me. Everyone answered my questions without an attitude. Mind you there’s always a huge line forming at 6 am, they try to balance the non appointment with the people with appointments. I’ve noticed people get very upset with them because of them. I feel like if you go in without another commitment right after you’ll be fine since I got out after an hour. But please keep in mind that they’re also human trying to attend you. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
This one handles passports and is open until 5pm on Saturday. They also have the blank passport applications here, so you don't have to download and print it, but allow for time and bring something hard to write on if you're going to fill it out here while you're waiting. You'll need your parents birthdays, originals/copies of immigration papers, ID like California drivers license, ID etc. You'll also need passport photos, best bet; have it taken with a high collar shirt, they rejected my wifes tank top, because "it looks like you're naked" even though you can clearly see the black top and brown hair if you look. Sigh.
They don't answer the phone. Only one attempt was made for delivery before they sent my item back. Mind you they did not say any of this on the usps tracking site. So I would not be able to schedule a re-delivery. The automated usps phone number did not allow me to talk to a representative saying they were not available at this time. On a Thursday at 9 am pst. So the the system just hung up on me and didn't allow me to make a second call without immediately asking about the same package and then hanging up again I can't wait until they go bankrupt for the terrible service they manage to give every single time.
WOW! Do not ever come here if your getting a passport. Customer service is really not helpful. When I came to get my passport I had to stay in a long line NOT WORTH IT! When I was so close to getting to the front door of the post office, some lady comes out and says where only gonna let 2 more people in. She seemed she was not having a good day, she was screaming at everyone. If you do come to this place for a passport come earlier in the day maybe before they close. Also you can book an appointment, but there is a catch. It takes months to do the appointment. Here is an idea don't come to this place EVER!
I live in the Porter Ranch area & I had to get an overnight package to a relative in New Jersey. Post offices around me open at 10am but I noticed Van Nuys Post office opened at 8:30am so I went there. I was helped right away no lines. I never did an overnight & told the young man helping me this. He got everything I needed and was patient while I was filling everything out & very helpful when I asked questions. He told me absolutely if would get across country overnight and by 12 noon the next day it was received. So nothing but good things to say about Van Nuys Post office on Sherman Way & Haskell.
This location NEVER answers the phone. They have "misplaced" two of my packages and only offered an apology through email. I managed to get the supervisors direct number and she was very upset with me and rudely asked to call me back. (I'm still awaiting that call back.) Supervisor, if you do not want to be reached directly, HAVE EMPLOYEES ANSWER THE MAIN PHONE! And stop letting employees take other people's mail! Very dissatisfied with USPS "service". *UPDATE* 2 more packages I will not be receiving. Ridiculous! *UPDATE* 2021 THESE FOOLS STILL DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!
I asked a simple question today (sep 7 @ 6:35pm) regarding when the post office will stop collecting packages to a lady at the front desk at this post office …a simple question. She answered my question but it was so rude and with unnecessary attitude. I can’t believe she wasn’t aware of her behavior because she of course denied having any. If only she could see how disrespectful her facial expressions were as she answered the question. What a horrible experience …you can’t even ask a question. I wished I had asked someone else the question.
I was really worried after seeing the 2 star review about applying for my passport here, but I had no problem. I will say I think the reason some of the customers complaining is that they do not come prepared. Of the 12 or so people there to apply I and one other couple were the only two that came with the paperwork needed. This slowed the line down a lot and people kept interrupting the employee that was the first point of contact. The employees I encountered were very helpful and I will use this location again when I have to renew.
We went there with a passport appointment. As I was driving to the parking lot, the wait line to the entrance was soooo long. I got worried. Apparently, when you have an appointment, you go first. Our appointment was 11:15. We got called at 10:20. We had all our documents filled up and ready. We got out at 10:35. We got out ahead of the people who got there first. They are very organized and efficient. When you plan to get a passport, book an appointment almost a month in advance. It's better than to wait for hours in line.
Horrible passport service. Poor process management, employee poor performance except for the guy at windows 1 who takes care walk-in. His performance is 3 times better than the rest. He completed 1 application around 5-7 minutes, while others need 15-25’ to complete one application. It causes appointment people need to wait for around 2 hours to get their turn. Walk-in people get their application done faster. Very poor customer service. 7 windows total but only 4 working. Others busy taking rest, lunch and others thing.
i have literally called seven times with intervals & nobody picks up. how does a place have a phone line where nobody answers & the phone line just hangs up?!? at least let there be an operator that gives one information as to why the delay but there’s nothing. **UPDATE** had put a one star but updated to 3 because unfortunately i didn’t get the persons name that helped us out but he was kind enough to open the dropbox so we can get our lost phone. he gets 5 stars. this place just needs better phone service.
Review only applies to the passport office. Long lines. Bring all of your paperwork. Better to bring too much than find out you're missing something after you make it inside. Use a restroom before you arrive (there isn't one here). Once you're in, everything moves with typical beaurocratic efficiency. Like the DMV, it's mostly waiting. Don't come in expecting to walk in and walk out in 15 minutes. Bring a book or something to keep yourself entertained and expect to put an afternoon into it.
Paula is a rude and very loud lady, parking was packed because if the passport line wrapped around the building. No one could help me walk my 3 boxes all the way from the farthest parking lot each weighed at 30lbs. I am a 100lb girl and I have sezuires. She didn't care and had a nasty attitude and her exact words were that's not my problem. Go to another company if you are shipping or don't have time to wait in line.
Had another fantastic experience with the USPS passport services. Made an appointment in advance and, true to form, there was no waiting around - everything ran on time. The whole process was easy and smooth, and it was super convenient that they took care of the photos for us. This is the second time we’ve used their services, and both times have been seamless. Highly recommend for anyone needing passport services!
If you don't care when your package arrives this is definitely the place for you. If you like spending almost $30 for "guaranteed delivery" only to have the package arrive a day late then this is the place. It's no wonder the post office is in danger all the time. They're pretty bad at delivering things. It's like the one thing they should be good at right? At least the package arrives most of the time. Try FedEx.
I have tried calling the office for well over an hour. The delivery line doesn’t work and the other no one has bothered answering. My tracker said it was delivered and it never was or it was left in the rain and stolen. If it wasn’t, then I never received a slip and it will be reported as missing. Tried sending an email and the email doesn’t work. This is not the first time a package has been missing either.
Good luck getting your packages if it's raining. Our clerk pulled up to the front of our house, sat on her phone for nearly an hour, then pulled away- didn't get out of the car. As soon as she pulled away, I got an alert that my package was marked unable to deliver... because it was raining on the sidewalk in front of the house and she didn't want to get wet. Nothing obstructing the path, just a mild rain.
I had really bad experience in this Passport place. The employees don't know how to deal with consumer. They are very rude and unprofessional. Even 3rd level countries have better service then this place. They are worse then DMV. They close 6.00pm in weekdays, but they can shot the door on your face, saying weclose at 5pm or 5.30pm. Wast of time
Hands down the worst post office I've ever been to. No customer service. I even tried calling before showing up and nobody answers the phone. They've sent me on a wild goose chase to find a package that THEY SHOULD OF delivered yesterday. When I finally get some answers they forwarded my package to LA. I don't live there. I will avoid usps at all costs. I'd rather spend extra money with ups or fedex.
I've never been to this location yet. But I wanted to ask if someone could let me know. But wanted to ask if anyone who's been there couldn't let me know if they holders for purchase. It's a normal Poster the same sizes, those that would have a band or a movie on it, and I'm trying to buy. One of those cylinder holders that protects it At a post office that has them so I can purchase before shipment
If you want your passport don't bother coming here the line is usually 500 people long and they stop accepting people around 10 AM or 11 AM even though it states on their website and their phone line that the hours are till 5 PM and mention nothing about an early cutoff. If your time is worthless come here and spend 5 hours getting a passport. If your time is precious don't bother and mail it in.
"No such address" I've lived in this house for over 30 years, yet they still often can't find it. I'm about 6 blocks from the main VN Post Office. Mail is frequently returned or discarded as "undeliverable". Packages can be found in a puddle or on a trash can. There are regularly about 2 or 3 days delay between emailed notifications of delivery and actual delivery.
my letters always arrived, but the most important thing was not delivered to me by the courier. There is only one reason - this lazy dog simply decided not to deliver letters on that day and stated the reason that I did not have enough address. I wish this courier that important letters are not delivered to him and his complaints are not accepted
I had a pleasant experience...used there passport service. Please make an appointment before going, they will only answer questions, but will not let you in without an appointment. My wait and time out was less then 40 min. I made an appt for noon on a weekday. Paid for 4-6 week delivery for both passport book and card. Paid $279.
It's frustrating and annoying to go to a location that does not have the packaging required to mail something on site. Multiple things were out, and the only option given was to go out of your way to spend more to buy the correct packaging to then come back and ship. Waste of time, and frankly I expect better from the USPS.
Never get the packages delivered to the door with USPS. This is the worst service ever. When I asked the reason why we never get the packages delivered, the person here said that they don’t deliver to bigger apartment complexes. Literally we have to pay the shipping fee and have the package carried by ourselves.
My pakage was delivered to wrong adress and ive been getting the run around for a week now and still havent received it yet this is overall 1 of the worst if not the worst post office in the san fernando valley hate to leave a bad review but have no choice sorry but you guys need to get your !÷^*# together
The black reception lady had such a attitude. I came in to simply ask for a form (to renew a passport) and she made a whole case for me to make an appointment as if talking to her was wasting her time cause I didn't make an appointment. There was one other person and he was already leaving
The service is horrible. The people are not focusing n their work. They start having their own conversations while attending you. Many workers take breaks during service hours and there is only one person at the desk “ applying for passports “ . I would not recommend if you’re in a hurry.
Very slow service, about 4 hours to get the application for passport done. No restroom available, all kids going inpatient with the long wait. Not a good experience, especially when you are paying $135.00. The only good thing about it, you only need to do it every 10 years.
Be very careful with your mail when using this office. My advice is to never use the drive thru. I sent out a few packages last year and non were received. Either they don't pick it up or someone steals it or they themselves steal it. Take it personally to the counter.
One of the only usps that opens late. Go here to ship orders from my business. Only downside is the new food vendors that have started showing up. And their customers taking all the spaces. Literally never any parking and no one does anything about it
Worst mail service i have ever had in my life from this place. Missing mail, non posted hours for pickup times. Single delivery attempt with no way to reschedule and inaccurate operating hours. Rude employees. Really just the whole range of failure.
The worst ever customer service I have ever encountered here. There is always a queue of around 50 people at all times out of the office premises. No matter what the weather conditions are, no matter if someone is disabled or with kids, you
Make an appointment. If you do walk in, take chairs, pack food, don’t make any afternoon plans, bring board games to keep you entertained, be prepared to start a friendly conversation with a stranger and talk about how horrible the line is
Sent a package priority mail and it was delivered with broken items to my son. Sent another package last week, says it was delivered to his front porch. He does not have a front porch, lives in a secure building. HOA has no record or video
I called to ask for the form that I need to notarize for the passage of my son's passport which they did not give me when I asked for it the time I went. And the woman who answered me was very rude and racist. They supost to be there to
Unbelievably disgusting customer service here....Both supervisors in the main office where you send/purchase postage, etc are incredibly unprofessional. .the armenian woman who oversees the package drop off area always looks like she's
If you're going for passport I suggest going on a weekday. I went a Thursday afternoon, got there around 4 and was out by 5:30. Employees were nice and straightforward. Honestly thought it would be like the dmv, but it wasn't bad.
The only post office open til 7 pm around this area. When I went, there were 4 USPS customer service agents providing service, so the line moved quickly. My interaction with the agent who helped me was very positive. Thank you!
It's a nice spot. But the when the food trucks take over at night there isn't any parking or people just park wherever they want. Trash left all over the place. This location is no longer 24 hours thanks to homeless issues
They close later than other usps offices. There are a few self-service kiosks so that I didn't need to wait in line to drop off a package with a prepaid label. Awesome! I am planning to go back to send another package.
Short staff! Friendly employees and clean office, but extremely long waiting, they have 5 windows to serve costumers but only 2 are working! Over 45min to just drop off a prepaid package and get a receipt for it!
The staff were very helpful, from the gentleman checking documents at the front desk to the lady who processed my passport application, I think her name was Suzanne. My appointment was over in ten minutes.
Me: cool headed when i drive, no accident recorded. Meaning i have never died. 78 dollars for honking without " emergency while driving on the road about road conditions to alert the drivers around you.
Only 1 person processing passports for the first hour and 15 minutes. After that a second person came and started working. You're not allowed to use the public restrooms that the public paid for.
Love the USPS, but they need to put up some signage about package pickups. It's in the warehouse building to the west. Entrance is off Gloria. Pickup hours are Mon-Sat 10am-5pm.
Charlotte is the most stressful person I have ever meet, she is very rude with customers! Post office should do better, if you don’t like your job just don’t work here!!!!
3 day mail arrived 20 days later. This is not the first time 3 day mail was delayed considerably. 1 *s for delayed mail.
This post office is HORRIBLE. They steal or lose your packages and then still update the Tracking information
Drivers forget to take packages and then mark as attempted delivery. Horrible service.
Very poor customer service and mean not helpful at all I will give him zero star
Always helpful, and the passport center makes the hassle so much easier.
Post office personnel are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful!!
