"Awful, awful, awful"
I'm sorry that I have to do this because I don't like leaving negative reviews. I went to this location because it does not have a long line in the mid-morning. I got there and there were only two people in front of me. I had 150 pieces of pre-stamped mail (CDs for a record label to customers) that I dropped off to them and they accepted begrudgingly even though they didn't have to do the postage because I'd already stamped them myself (after consulting with a USPS location about the stamps/pricing for the packages). That same day, I also had 20 international orders that needed to go out. They didn't want to process all 20 ("we're a small location" was the reason) so I merely got the international forms, filled them out, and took them to a different location for processing. Six days later, our 150-piece order was returned to sender, putting our business in a snafu because our customers were waiting for their CDs. If this location was not going to process my order, I wish they would have told me and sent me somewhere else. I can't believe this happened and I'm very upset. Last time I'll go to that post office, which I'm sure they'll appreciate. I'll take partial blame for being naïve.
I really don't understand how USPS can allow this post office to continue like this after all these people have been treated so badly. I have had 2 terrible experiences at this place, the first one , when I politely asked the clerk a question she yelled at me and said to get back in line. I couldn't even believe that she treated me like that so I responded asking her why she had to treat me like that, and she said I can go somewhere else. I called usps Customer Service to file a complaint and I guess nothing happened because the bad customer service continues. Yesterday again, I went to go pick up a packages and the clerks instead of trying to see if the package was there they kept being negligent and lazy saying it not there (they did even look, nor asked for the tracking number) and after a very tiring discussing of me trying to explain to them that USPS Customer service guaranteed my package was in fact at that location, she decided to go look with a very bad attitude and told me it wasn't there...this is so unfortunate that USPS allows such people with terrible attitudes to represent their company. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE...
There is a lady that works at this location who is rude every time I go. Today I waited about 10-15 minutes to be helped, with one lady in front of me spending five minutes at the counter. The rude lady was the only one working today. All I needed to do was buy stamps. She made no attempt at pleasantries when it was finally my turn, couldn't even crack a smile. After I got the stamps, I proceeded to begin stamping the three letters I had to mail. I had three letters to mail... It would take three seconds to stamp them. Before I had the first stamp on the envelope she fussed at me to move out of the way, and didn't stop fussing until I was across the room from her. She couldn't smile and wait three seconds for me after I waited 15 minutes to see her. Here is a tip for this USPS location - a stamp machine would be more serviceable and polite than your employees. If you intend to stay in business, I suggest you invest in one.
It's easy to see why this post office has gotten a single star from all reviewers, and I'm here to add to that dismal track record. I tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt, but after two years of continual disappointing customer service, here I am posting my review. Once again, the staff was not helpful or accommodating to a postage problem that I had. Instead, she told me I needed to get a scale and would not assist me in covering the difference for the postage that I already paid for via eBay. It seemed like a very simple and benign request however she cited that headquarters wouldn't allow them to do this. What? Whatever. We are moving in 2 weeks so this is my last trip to this particular post office. EVER. Good riddance. If you're reading this review, I suggest you take your business elsewhere. This post office is the worst one in New Orleans.
Awful, awful, awful. I've had literally dozens of things lost in the mail, from concert tickets to wedding invitations to anniversary gifts to Christmas gifts, and no one is held responsible. Switched my Amazon default address to my wife's work because I cannot rely on my local post office. After about two years, I switched back over to my home address, and the first expensive package I ordered disappeared never to be found again. No one can be held accountable, my item just disappeared. Switched default shipping address back to my wife's work. This has been a MAJOR problem for years and there's no indication that anything is going to change for the better any time soon.
The clerk is sadistic and enjoys playing tricks on people and trying to bring down their day and I DON'T appreciate it. I had a bad experience in the past with his place and stopped going. I had a package I had to drop off one day and this was where I happened to be. The clerk wouldn't accept my package making up some lies about how I put it in the wrong box when the shipping label was provided already. I went to the post office uptown and they accepted it no problem. These clerks need to be fired and shouldn't be within 100 miles of a post office. That is the best for everyone. This is a not a post office, it is a hassle. 1 star because negative stars aren't possible.
The absolute worst post office I've ever experienced and I've lived in a lot of places. They deliver mail whenever they feel like it. If it rains you know you're not getting yout mail that day. Even when the weather is fine you may not get your mail. More than once I've checked the status of my mail after having not received it and have found false reasons listed like "no access" or "couldn't deliver due to aninal". There is absolutely no access issues or aninal issues. We have no aninals nor do our neighbors. They simply falsify records Have complained before with nothing ever being done. Beyond frustrating.
This is a horrible post office. The people there are really rude and couldn't really care less if you get your mail or packages. If you call with questions, good luck on getting them to pick up the phone, not sound irritated that you called, and getting any real information about your mail. It's easy to see the people at this post office operate with the firm belief that their job is never in jeopardy, so they don't really have to do it very well at all. I will say I agree with the review below this one, that there is one lady who works there who is nice, but she is one among many who don't give a dam.
Extremely rude. Also, on numerous occasions i have had packages not show up on their scheduled delivery date. Claiming that there is "no access to my residence" (i live in a house directly on the street) and they leave NO notifications that they were ever there and refuse to refund the OVERNIGHT MONEY BACK GUARANTEE SHIPPING FEE. The packages show up randomly days later and not only will they give me no help whatsoever but completly blow me off when i start asking questions about the whereabouts of my packages.
Consistently incompetent. Shipments are marked as "delivery attempted" when they are simply late. Staff are not helpful and if missing a package always provide a "carrier" number no one answers. Credit card matchine breaks so bring cash. I've started going out of my way to use other Usps stores. The one on Louisiana Uptown is great. They also mark packages as "delivered" when they are not and constantly give me other people's mail, who I then have to find and deliver their mail/packages to them.
Worst Post Office EVER. If you have a chance to go anywhere else I would advise doing so. I'm pretty sure having nobody work here would be more beneficial to customers than the actual employees. They are rude.. and seem to have absolutely no concern for anything. That being said.. I would like to note.. there is ONE lady that works here that this doesn't apply to. I have had a box here for 4 years because it was the closest to my house.. and after today.. finally decided to write this review.
There's not much that I can add that hasn't already been said. Not sure why I was expecting anything different from my trip there. Delivery attempt notice left on door but clerk has no idea what I'm talking about. Couldn't provide any assistance when asked and told me that it was my fault for not coming in earlier. Mary the clerk is very unprofessional and is a serious detriment to this failing place. One star because 0 is not an option.
If there was a way to leave a 00 star review I would! Extremely rude folks working there, and the hours on the website, are wrong. They go by the hours posted on the door. They leave for lunch and close at odd hours. Overall just a horrible post office. Avoid any all costs. (Just for info, this is one of the only bad reviews of anywhere I've ver left in my life. I believe anywhere can have an off day, but they are consistently awful. )
Went here to drop off maybe 16 packages because i run an ecommerce. The incredibly rude clerk literally told me to take the packages back because I had too many. If their rude clerks have a rule about the quantity of packages, perhaps they should post this on the door. Beyond ridiculous because all the packages fit in the bed of my small pickup truck. I plan on reporting her to the nola postal commissioner.
There's a 4 person policy at this post office, which I would normally understand but when you just want to grab a mailing envelope or mailing stickers, you have to wait outside in the entire line just to grab a sticker! Also to drop off pre-packaged, pre-stamped, boxes you have to wait in line as well. It's faster just to go to a post office nearby. I won't be returning to this post office, for sure!!
Number for this location (listed on USPS website) has been disconnected. They also are holding a package, requiring me to pick it up, when they are supposed to deliver to my address. The USPS hours are extremely inconvenient: Monday - Friday 9AM - 5PM. Do they expect customers to take off work just to pick up a package that should and could have been delivered to their house?
The closing time is not 5pm, as the automated phone system and Google Maps claimed. It is 4:30pm. It's not difficult to update the hours of operation so that the general public doesn't have to unnecessarily risk their lives in New Orleans rush hour traffic to drop off mail to a Post Office that isn't open when it says it's open. Fail.
This is the worst operated post office in the City of New Orleans. Take your business elsewhere!! I was expecting a birthday gift from a friend, and it has been over a week now and no gift. My friend said that he checked my address thrice before mailing it. The post office workers are so rude and all of them need to be replaced.
Do not mail your wedding invitations here! The employees here do not know nor care about USPS policy and will run your invitations that you paid extra postage for to be hand canceled through their machines. They will be destroyed by the time they arrive. Really, avoid this place and go to the main office on Loyola
Should not have trusted this post office with my E-commerce shipments. Dropped off 42 parcels on Monday right at the counter, by Friday none have been scanned in. I will be out hundreds of dollars if I have to refund all of these customers. Not my first bad experience at this location, either.
Lakeview Branch is the absolute worst post office in the city!!!! Would give it zero stars if it would let me. Refuse to take pre-paid packages without standing in line. When asked why they do not take drop-offs, the surly reply was “because we don’t”. When will I learn NOT TO COME HERE AGAIN.
Our mail is always late and constantly being delivered to the wrong address. The office is a nightmare. They seem to have a 2 hour lunch break, and when they're open, only 1 person is working. The line is always out the door. Almost every time I try to go, they're closed.
worst post office ever!!!! I mailed several checks for my company paying vendors and they never got the checks. I did twice and another week that they lost the check or maybe never picked them out. This is really frustrating. The worst the WORST!!!! ZERO STARS
We are lucky to receive mail at all. Packages are marked "could not locate address", yet at your convenience you deliver mail to my house a couple of times a week. This has to be the worst area of the city to live in when it comes to receiving mail.
Literally worst post office in the world. There is not a time I go there and the line is not out the door with only one person working. And it is usually a rude and super unhelpful person working. I absolutely dread/loathe going to this post office
I never write bad reviews, but I feel like I need to. I went to this post office once to return a package. The person working there that day had a nasty attitude and did not even cover my home address label with the new label so it ended up
If I could’ve given less than one star, I would have. I just walked out of the post office. I grew up in this neighborhood, and there is no excuse for the attitude of the postal worker. She yelled at us because we were standing on the wrong
The staff at this particular post office are very unprofessional and have horrible attitudes. No one there wants to do their job. I had an horrible experience there and I will not be coming back to that location.
Second time I’ve arrived and it’s closed 20 minutes early. Today on 10/3/2023 it was closed at 4:11 PM and hours are open until 4:30 Either change your sign or don’t leave early from your job please
It's a hit or miss with the service you get here but what really grinds my gears is how often the outside mailbox is unavailable. Seems to conveniently correspond to mail in voting time periods
This location isn’t any better. I mailed 10 items on February 24, 2023 and the mail was never delivered. I had to rewrite checks and resend mail . Also, the times posted online are wrong.
There is no way to tell which door to go to. The doorbells don't work. You just have to bang on the door and hope someone hears you.... This feels more like a place to bring a dead body.
Do not waste your time. The ladies here are incredibly rude and will waste your time as hard as they roll their eyes. Ten out of ten recommend driving to any other location available.
the workers there are so rude! i’ve been there quite a few times and every single time i’ve been yelled at or talked to so rudely and it’s the same lady. go to any other post office
Terrible post office location. Don’t allow drop-offs of pre-labelled packages. Had to go to another location to drop off our pre-paid and labelled packages. Don’t waste your time.
It’s not worth sending it if you have to send it here. Absolutely the worst place on earth. I would rather spend time at the social security office or the dmv. SAVE YOURSELF
Had to send a package today and Monique was very helpful!! I truly appreciate her patience and help. She made my check out process smooth!! Thank you Monique!!
Only positive things to say about the staff at this station. Two of the women behind the desk have helped my family for years. Always helpful, cordial.
I almost didn’t come here because of the reviews but I had a good experience with Ms. Monique. I was in and out and she helped me with my return.
Convient neighborhood Post Office. Downside is they don't have a self service box, so your forced to wait in line for a postal associate.
My second occurrence here in last 60 days, arriving 20 mins before closing, stating their credit card processing is down, "cash only"
I had good experience here! Monique is very patience! They also respected the rules (4 people at the time).
Not helpful at all! Employee, Albert, behind the counter is very rude and doesn't like to answer questions.
Horrible service. They literally hate dealing with people. Do everyone a favor and shut this office down.
The office was closed at 4:30. The google says 5pm. I wasted time and gas. Please update your hours.
Best Post office in the city! Easy parking, Hardly ever a line, professional and friendly service.
If I could give negative stars, I would! One counter lady is very rude and unhelpful!
Always so rude but more smug. Google needs to update that open at 8:30 as of july2023
The associate was very helpful to find the right packaging for my shipment.
Terrible customer service. Rude and unenthusiastic counter employee.
Monique is a nice sweet lady with great attitude. I loved this usps
These hours need to be updated to reflect the post office closes at
Worst post office in the city. Slow and terrible customer service.
Didnt have to wait at all very nice employees and knowledgeable
Meanest, most rude customer service I’ve ever experienced.
This location was easy to park and run in and out quickly.
Terrible service. Unfriendly. Unprofessional. Horrible.
I don't really understand how it's so consistently bad.
The staff is always friendly and helpful.
Excellent at being rude and unhelpful.
Took way to long. Avoid the older lady
Another waste of the public’s money
Rude and unprofessional staff
No supplies.
