"Positives: roll of packing tape available free to community, rather than forcing people to buy a whole roll"
"Had literally the worst experience here"
"The small area for queuing in, on the customer-counter side of the service area, does not take away from the big on quality, friendliness and efficiency of service provided"
"This place is worst because they never answer their phones AND THEY HOLDING MY PACKAGE FOR MORE THAN A MONTH AND DIDN'T EVEN TRY DELIVERING AND THAT PACKAGE IS MY DAUGHTER'S PASPORT THAT SHE IS WAITING FOR IT AND PAID FOR IT"
"If you have your expectations set appropriately then you are less likely to be disappointed! After reading so many negate reviews it’s obvious these people acted like they expect world class service as if they were at a five start hotel! People this is a government operated non profit operation! You should expect slower service, more mistakes, longer lines, not answer the phones at times, open late on occasion, etc"
Positives: roll of packing tape available free to community, rather than forcing people to buy a whole roll. Negative: woman working the counter refused to ship a package because she misunderstood USPS policy on items with lithium batteries. She referred to a printed guide that she had been given, but she was clearly misreading the text. She refused to listen when I read actual policy to her from USPS website. I took my package to the next USPS to the north, where a friendly and knowledgeable postal worker shipped it, because he both knew and understood USPS policy. This woman lacked the knowledge, understanding, and humility to do her job correctly. I’m thankful I’m privileged to be able to simply drive to a better station; this could be a real hardship for some.
Had literally the worst experience here. I waited in line an hour, not anyones fault it just how it was that day. The cashier was a royal cu** to me. I asked for her help with packaging and she told me they should teach people how to fold boxes and write addresses in school. I do not go to the post office often and I know that I lack some basic mail skills but I asked for help and waited in line an hour for my turn, I paid $30 for two packages and all Debbie gave me was sarcasm and ahe tried to get me to go to the end of the line. Full disclosure I told her that I hope people are nice to her and I hope ahe gets a rest, she wad still a b*** to me. I hope Debbies manager sees this, I understand it was a hard day for her but the attitude is way uncalled for.
The small area for queuing in, on the customer-counter side of the service area, does not take away from the big on quality, friendliness and efficiency of service provided. There is a constant queue of customers on any given day of the opening hours of the week. Staff have great senses of humour, no matter how long the queue is and what arrives to be posted. All staff's professional knowledge of the complicated postal services rules and regulations is provided to the customer with text book precision explanations. Reassuring. They take the time to do this with every customer. Watching them cope with the work rate this Christmas was a phenomenal queue experience, composure and clarity stayed in place. Thank you NE Killingsworth Postal.
This place is worst because they never answer their phones AND THEY HOLDING MY PACKAGE FOR MORE THAN A MONTH AND DIDN'T EVEN TRY DELIVERING AND THAT PACKAGE IS MY DAUGHTER'S PASPORT THAT SHE IS WAITING FOR IT AND PAID FOR IT. THIS IS CONSIDERED FRAUD AND YOU HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU DOING. SO TURNING ON YOUR BAD COMPUTER VOICE WICH IS NOT TRANSFERING ME TO A OPERATOR AND ALWAYS DISCONNECTING ME IS NOT ON OPTION TO GET AWAY FROM RESPONSIBILITIES!!!! I THINK I HAVE TO TAKE YOU TO A COURT BECAUSE WE PAID FOR PASPORT AND WE HAVE A TRIP FLIGHT TICKETS, WE ALSO HAVE PRIVAT INFORMATION IN THAT PACAGE.A tracking is telling me that usps in PORTLAND is holding it for more than a month without even noticing me at all.
If you have your expectations set appropriately then you are less likely to be disappointed! After reading so many negate reviews it’s obvious these people acted like they expect world class service as if they were at a five start hotel! People this is a government operated non profit operation! You should expect slower service, more mistakes, longer lines, not answer the phones at times, open late on occasion, etc. Since I have my own expectations in proper order I can tell you this is a great postal center filled with people who obviously work hard. I expect more when I go to a non government run, for profit business that depends on providing a higher level of customer service. Common sense everyone.
I won't repeat the common thread in these reviews but will agree with it. I await the day when federal employees are treated like most of us meaning they actually lose their job when they are not doing it well. My biggest question which could easily be resolved is why is the the only post office in the area with limited hours of access to your po box. I pay a lot for it yet if I work past 6 pm I have no access to it. I was told years ago it was because it was a bad neighborhood. Does having 1.5 million dollar penthouses in the neighborhood finally free us of that reputation ? I also asked why we are the only po to not have lobby hours posted on door, but got no reply.
First visit to this post office today. Went in around 3:30 to purchase a couple of shipping envelopes and to ship off some items in the envelopes. They weren't all that busy, maybe 5 or 6 people inside aside from the desk staff. It was easy to find the supplies I needed and get everything ready. I had to wait in line for a minute or two and the woman who helped provided a pleasant interaction. She also provided me with multiple options for shipping my packages. Although I didn't interact with the other attendant, she was equally as pleasant to the customers she was helping. Cost was very affordable, too. Thumbs up USPS.
I have been a customer here for 25 years. I think the people hating on the post office are way off-base. I have never been treated rudely by the staff. For years there was a very charming clerk named Richard, now retired, and I have witnessed people waving the next person ahead to hold out for his next availability! Wait times are sometimes egregiously long, but that is a management issue, not the counter staff's fault. Anyone who wants to abolish the USPS has no idea what they are in for if that happens. ( hint: $5 to mail a letter) I support this branch and USPS in general.
There's an elderly counter lady here with dyed hair - I looked but she doesn't wear a name badge - who is just downright mean. She's just loves to moan about everything and is rude to pretty much every customer. I'm now at the point where I don't mind her and look forward to the verbal sparring that inevitably takes place, regardless of the transaction. It's such a shame. The rest of the staff could be really nice - the guy I spoke to on the phone today was very helpful - but when this is the customer facing part of the operation......FAIL.
The woman at the counter (Apr 18 4:15pm) seemed determined to reject the package and refused to listen when I told her it needed to remain upright. She flipped it over right after I said it needs to remain upright (it also has "this side up" written on every side). She rejected the package anyway, acting the whole time as if she didn't want to pick up the package saying multiple times how big it was. Incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful, causing a huge inconvenience for me. If you don't want to lift boxes, don't work at the post office!
It is hard for me to write a negative review because I really like some of the PO employees I have met at this branch. That said, as a full time eBay, Amazon, Etsy seller, this branch costs me money. Numerous errors...... mishandling, mis-routing and the worst...... not scanning a package as "received". To be "top rated" on eBay you must have a package scanned into the USPS system with 24hrs of receiving an order. I have asked and asked the employees at this branch to scan. I never have this problem at the Kenton or down town branch.
I seldom leave reviews but feel compelled to today. The line was out the door, it was the end of the day, and a few people were not being very nice to the staff here. Despite that, the two ladies working today were very respectful and kind to each person. I had a good amount of time to stand and observe their interactions with each customer and Olivia (I think that was her name) and Darlene were consistently helpful and courteous. Thank you both for being such an asset to this community!
Today I stood in line for at least an hour. There were at least 18 people in the room waiting for the one woman at the window. Many people had multiple packages and other business. It is disheartening to see that Postal management does not think that the Piedmont Post Office needs more staff and chooses to treat customer service in such a casual and neglectful manner. Another postal service worker needs to be transferred from a less active post office to work here at Piedmont.
Oh Harvey! If you are afraid of dogs, securely in someone’s house, so much you Don’t Deliver my package for “known dog” reason perhaps you should get a different job dude!!! You’ve never had any situation with My Dogs! And then when confronted you try to hide your tag so I can’t get your name to report you? Didn’t work!!! And the only reason I’m giving this 2 stars is that you supervisor was very apologetic for your unprofessional behavior. Thanks Mike!
Professional Service @ Piedmont Station ×2 I went in person to report an issue with receipt of a delivered package to parcel lock box on 1-7-17... I was referred to speak to the Post Office Mgr who was very receptive; and followed up in 2 days to resolve the issue. Mgr called & left me msg to pickup my package retrieved from residence parcel lock box. I have to say this Post Office Mgr provided excellent service resolution and represented very well...
I remember this used to the most awesome post office. Super friendly nice gentelmen. Smiling joking about. Kidding people. Knew the customers by name. So they must have retired because this place has totally lost it's groove. I can't really explain how friendly and nice the employees used to be. They would put everyone in a good mood and at ease even waiting in a long line. Good happy connected people make all the difference!
People get mad about this lines at this post office, but it really depends on what time/day you go. I bring my phone for entertainment in case the lines are long, but the people watching is even better entertainment, especially people who come in and throw big fits about the lines! Sometimes I get lucky and there are no other customers. Either way, once I get to the counter, the customer service is always good and friendly.
This PO is the absolute worst. It's impossible to get out of there in less than 20 minutes. There's always a huge line of incredibly slow-moving people and only a couple of people working the counter. Inexplicably, there's one counter position that can only take pre-paid and flat-rate packages, so one clerk stands there doing nothing while the line snakes out the door. I'll do anything to avoid this PO if I possibly can.
Worst USPS experience ever. They opened 10 minutes late and the woman at the counter acted as if all of us were completely inconveniencing her. So rude to everyone. I should have listened to the bad yelp reviews on this place and gone to another store instead. USPS - Piece of advice...if you want people to keep coming in and not going to UPS or Fed Ex, stop hiring people who can't be respectful and courteous.
On 8/26/19 at approx. 10 am I arrived to sort out some questions regarding sensitive documents whereabouts. I was assisted by an hazel eyed female customer service representative(working mail pickup window). She was very understanding of my issue and was able to retrieve my parcel. She was super helpful. Employees like this one brings back hope that the post office does care about its citizens. Thanks USPS.
A special thank you: I usually live in your area but during Covid-19 I have stayed on in my house in another state. I ordered a bunch of used books, being sent by various sellers, but I forgot to update my address so they are all coming to you! And you are diligently forwarding them; I have already received about half of the packages. I'm sorry for adding to your work -- and I appreciate your service!
Let me preface this by saying, I can walk to this post office, so I will probably always just go here. Lady with the short red hair is a total bummer. She is never in a good mood, never pleasant, etc. With that said, if you can manage to avoid her, it’s not a terrible experience. Especially right now because they have some seasonal (and hopefully permanent) new hires helping out.
I felt compelled to leave a review because so many people have negative things to say about this place. Sure the lines are long sometimes but that is not the fault of the staff, who are very friendly and move through the line quickly. This is my neighborhood post office and I appreciate that the staff are always in a friendly mood and that they are open on Saturdays.
The workers here are great and the dude mentioned below is always friendly even when dealing with the serious crazies who come in here. They really need to hire more workers though. It's a very populated area and it gets a lot of foot traffic so the lines are often long during rush hours. Prepare your stuff before you get there people! and don't try to cut the line!
This is my local Post Office. The Postal Service cannot deliver any package that won't fit in my mailbox, so I have to pick up packages at the Post Office. The front line employees and managers are helpful and polite, even though they could use more staffing. They sometimes are surprised by the strange packages I received, but are always helpful.
This location is pretty good, but USPS customer service by phone is the worst I have experienced. There is no option to talk to an agent, but if you Google it, you can find the trick of going to track a package and then ask for customer service when they ask for the tracking number--but even then the expected wait time is 40-50 minutes!
Rodney Davis is the funniest, most friendly Post Office employee I've met, and to the person down below with their ridiculous, racially-motivated (see how that can be thrown out both ways without any evidence?) rant, good luck getting a well-liked, union-backed government employee fired with your ridiculous tempter tantrum of a letter.
No Kiosk (small building can't fit one) so the line is all the way back to the door. The people are friendly and helpful but they don't do what other post offices do to speed things up: have customers step aside when they need to put stamps on their package or fill out an address, etc. Fine service but slow even for a post office. :(
This is the first review I have ever made. This place is so bad I am actually needing to share with others. After having a P.O. Box here for the past 4 months, all I can say is that the people who work here are incredibly disorganized, and are often very rude. If I could have chosen a different location I would have.
Terrible service -- couriers take things and try to charge additional postage for Portland to Portland delivers. No one ever picks up the phone and I've came by twice this week before 4PM and there was no one available to assist. Love the neighborhood -- terrible postal service.
Nice P.O. Staff put out fresh flowers. There is every kind of mailing box or envelope that you would ever want to buy and a nice central table for packing. The clerk got out all the different pages of stamps for me to choose from. Only drawback is that it was stuffy inside.
Slowest and worst customer service! There was no one in line and it took so long that there was a line half way through. I was in there for 15 mina just to helped. And to mail a card not even 6x8 with tracking 8.60.... no wonder the Postal Service is going under.
the mail service is poor at best, there delivery mixes business with residential---we get our mail missed about once a week---they drive by all day long, but cant figure out how to hit the business first, then the residential later--they are open all night..
I think this location needs to grow considering the increase in population density for this part of the city; the long lines are proof enough of that. The service is good though, and they seem to offer the same services as most other post offices.
Rodney is great, the lady with the dyed red hair is really rude. Matt, the manager, cut off mail service to our entire block permanently because someone's dog was loose one day. No one got hurt, the mail carrier is just terrified of dogs.
A nice guy at this post office helped me get a package delivered to a friend that was about to be returned to sender! (due to an error I made on the address). Didn’t get a chance to say thank you, so wanted to write a review here instead.
These guys are over charging customers for the deminsional girth of your package. They just claimed a box I just shipped had a girth of over 140". Ups just measured the actual girth at 114". They are ripping everyone off!!!!
They really need more clerks working here. Every time I go they only have one working and there's a line out the door. A transaction that should take 10 minutes ends up taking a half hour. Hire more people!
The staff are nice but they are severely understaffed. If it's during a busy shipping time or season you'll be better off driving to another post office as it will likely save you time in the long run.
They are very accommodating on this location. When the line is long, they would quickly open another line. And some attendants has pretty funny stories to share too! I recommend this post office!
Too many times don't see my postal carrier even come down my street. 2 days in a row now . at the end of the route so we get skipped i think. unreliable for on time package deliveries.
I agree with the others. If you are next in line and the lady with short red dyed hair calls you up, just pass and let the person behind you deal with her. Beyond rude.
They CONSISTENTLY lose packages avoid at all cost or just drive a bit further. They have lost the last 2 packages I sent from this location, terrible and a disgrace
Been going here for years and even though the wait time when the lines are long can be tedious, they are doing their best. Always friendly and willing to assist.
Thank you very much Shawn for helping me with the package that was delivered on 7/2/20 that wasn’t scanned after it was delivered. Really appreciate your help!
I agree they are severely understaffed. Long lines and heavy wait times all year round. When the line is long, they would *NOT* quickly open another line.
Not sure why this USPS branch is rated so low on google. Went there twice in the past two days and all of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Unable to get anyone to answer a phone call. Have attempted multiple times. I am calling during normal business hours and posted hours as open.
The mailman at this post office refuses to deliver to our business - he just sends everything back. Terrible terrible post office service here.
Red hair lady smiles at me. you guys just dont know anything about interacting. You'll be lucky if two people are at counter, really slow
The level of small talk and inefficiency is unreal. Like out the door during the holidays and the staff night has well been in reverse.
Rude workers and long wait. Why does it have to be this way? Who hires these people? Can you hire a few who might like their job?
I run an online business and this Post Office has treated me with fair and reasonable customer service. Would recommend.
Gonna balance the scales here a bit. They went from 2 stars to 5 in the friendliness dept w/ their new clerk employees.
The package slip they left me has the wrong hours for the office, stating they’re open until 6pm. Inefficient garbage.
Extremely rude, long lines. It would be extremely helpful to put one of those do it yourself machines in the lobby.
PLEASE ALERT THE POSTAL DRIVERS TO SLOW DOWN! this is a neighborhood with people and animals crossing the streets.
Extremely rude. Could have just said, sorry sir, we do not process passport applications at this location.
Lines here are terrible. USPS should be abolished. UPS, DHL, etc could perform this service much better.
They closed before the closing time and they employees are very rude specially the old white lady
They wouldn't give me a single piece of tape just to make sure the box was secure. That's insane.
It was a really great experience! They were really nice and promptly processed my packages.
Friendly staff who always do their best to help people even when circumstances are tough.
Very bad service at this location. Never had a good experience, they are never helpful.
Some of the staff are very friendly & helpful. However, it's almost always super slow
If you like surly post office clerks and waiting in line, this is the place for you!
Mail comes after 6:00 pm every day and sometimes it belongs to someone else
Rude staff. Fairly long lines. What you would expect from a post-office.
Rudest customer service I've ever had at a post office
Solidarity Forever! :)
