Notes. I accidentally noticed there was no Google Maps & Place listing for this library branch itself, so I requested this place to be added, on 2017 Nov. 11; approved & added by Google on same day. University Heights Branch Library, of the San Diego Public Library (SDPL) system. (Not found in Maps or Places - by browsing Maps, browse & search by street address, or search by related names or terms; so no Place listing at all. Surprising, considering it is a public library in service for a long time (not new). Shows you can find almost any place may need to be added to Maps & Places (local info), though rare. Even if not new. So always consider checking & verifying Maps & Places for any local listings, that you know or are near/at, when you can, & request add or edit as needed; especially Google Maps/Places - Contributers & Local Guides.) There was an already existing Place @ this same street address, which is for the Friends Of The Library used bookstore or sale. (I found this while searching for library nearby, & bookstore. Verified @ SDPL Web site that library branch still exists, & also I have seen while walking/traveling by in the area. When I go into this place, I will update my review & info.) I went to this library Place on 2017 Labor Day, closed for holiday. I saw the library is there & still in service. (I was in the area for other places to visit, so I went to check this place also.) Also, appears the Friends ... book store or sale location is behind & outside the library (back of building). In an enclosed outdoor space, below library building where it overhangs above ground, & behind write fence (closed & locked, except when sale is occurring). There was a small shed there. (My review rating is not a rating of this Place, yet. I have not been in this Place. Do not take it as an actual rating of this Place. I selected the middle rating value (for unknown rating), so I could post this info. Google requires selecting a rating to post a review note; otherwise I would have posted this info with no rating, if Google supported that. So I had to pick a rating value, though I have no experience to provide a real rating.)
My go-to San Diego library. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, they taught me how to do all of the neat library stuff from printing to checking out books and they also let me know a plethora of other details. Did you know you can rent hot-spots from the SDPL? I didn't either until a librarian here decided to tell me so. Very cool, I really appreciate our librarians here.
It’s a small library, but the people here are really helpful with questions and transfers. 5 stars for them, and the fact that it’s convenient and I can vote here. Really appreciate the pretty extensive audiobook selection SDCL has with selections from every genre. Fantastic work building that up and hope they can continue to expand it. One of the best services in the city.
Very small library. Two tables and few chairs. A children's area. Pretty much it. Mission Valley & Mission Hills libraries are fairly close-by and offer a much better experience. Update: They add a couple more tables and chairs to the main area. It helps somewhat. I hope they add more outlets to connect devices also.
The University Heights library looks small on the outside, but is run and led by excellent professional librarians and youth and tech resource professionals. They can help you find any information resource or imaginative media you or your young people need.
