After working a long night shift at the Hospital. I got into my car and there was a loud tapping noise coming from my engine. I wasn't sure what it was or if it would get me home to St. Catharines. I set out driving not sure of what to do and knowing that not many places are open at 7:00 in the morning. I noticed that Upper Gage Garage was open, so I pulled into there. I asked the gentleman that was working if he could give me any indication if my car would safely make it back to St. Catharines. He put aside what he was working on to help me and he rectified the tapping noise, telling me that now my car would safely get me home. I truly appreciated his very kind service, as well as gave me some relief to know that I would safely get home , which I did after a very long tiring night. I know that if I lived here in Hamilton I would definitely return to this garage to have my car repaired. Since then I have mentioned this incident to the people I work with, in hopes that they would consider going to this garage for service. The fact that the gentleman went out of his way to help me is definitely number one in my books!!! Thank you so very much.

This review is 6 years late but here is my experience with Upper Gage Garage: 6 years ago, my wife was driving her Prius when all of a sudden a loud metal noise started underneath the engine. She took the car to a big brand mechanic shop to get checked and was quoted for $1000+ for repair. The next day, I decided to bring the car in at Upper Gage Garage and was notified that it was just a loose bolt holding the engine splash shield. They fixed it for us and never had any problems with the car after. Up to now, a family member still drives the car and hasn't had any problems since that day. Since then, I never let anyone service our 2 cars. I am at peace when I drop my cars for repairs at Upper Gage Garage knowing that they would never try to trick or take advantage of me. Jamie is excellent at giving me updates about the condition of my car parts. I appreciate their honesty, timely service, and professionalism. It is very hard to find a shop like this and I am very grateful that I found them. To Jamie and team, big thanks to 6 years of maintaining our cars. I would never go anywhere else!

This is the place to take your vehicle. The whole crew is professional and very knowledgeable about cars. The reputation you read about is 100% true, honest mechanics that only fix what needs to be fixed. One of the last honest mechanics that only replaces what needs to be replaced and they're more than happy to show you the parts and how it may be affecting the safety of your families vehicle. They safetied my BMW 328i with a N52B30 swap and only used quality parts. They recognized the swap right away, which tells me that these are car enthusiasts and mechanics at the same time. I was so impressed with the work they did on my BMW, that I brought them my Subaru WRX that had a misfire. They diagnosed the issue on a very tricky vehicle and had me back on the road at full power in no time and at a very reasonable price. Anyone should feel confident bringing any vehicle here. It's worth the wait for a good honest mechanic! Take your BMW or Subaru in and mention my name they will take good care of you and your car.

Meant to leave this review weeks ago. I went here as they have always done right by my daughter, so he squeezed me in when my car was making a huge racket! A huge expensive noise.. the louder the more expensive right?? Left the car for the day, waited for the dreaded call.... Phone range, I gasped, and with great trepidation answered. "Hi, Your car's ready you can come pick it up any time." "ohhh, okay how much?" *let's just say I was very very happy with the response.. BTW it was the heat shield Which I have since learned most people apparently just rip it off when this happens. Nevertheless he could have taken advantage of the situation because I had no idea what it was. He didn't, he fixed it and I was thrilled and will always go back now. An honest mechanic.. who'd believe that? But its true. Thanks!

I'm in the automotive industry and I'm in between jobs so I took my truck in for a check over and service. Wow!! these guys are amazing they go above and beyond ,,they are honest professional with good pricing .my truck need alot of work done and they pulled through to get my truck fixed before go back to work . Love the fact that they are a friendly neighborhood garage that's been here a long time. Last Fall, my car started to make noise evertime when I gave gas, I went to a garage on Rymal road to have them look at it and fix the problem for me. They charged me over $1000 to change all brakes. The noise didn't go away. In winter, when the window were closed, I didn’t hear the noise any more. This year, when I opened the windows, the noise bothered me again and it got louder. I went to upper gage garage this time, they fixed the problem for me without charge. They are very honest, highly recommend.

I'm always nervous about mechanics. I have huge trust issues being a female that doesn't know very much about cars. My friends family who own an auto body shop recommended them to me and I'm so happy they did. I feel so comfortable there and I know they aren't trying to rip me off! The receptionist is very nice and the guys are very straight forward and their rates are very fair! I finally found my car guys! Lol. Thanks guys!! You're a rare find!

The gentlemen at this garage are fantastic. I grew up with my dad fixing and helping out with my car. Now that he is no longer able to do it, I feel like Jamie and his staff take care of me (and my car!) the same way my dad would want. They dont try to push service on you and will answer any questions honestly. Top notch place; my dad even goes to him now!

Made an appointment for a Friday at 8am. Made the appointment 2 weeks prior. When I arrived on time there was a sign on the door that said they decided to close that day. Didn't receive a call to reschedule. Waste of my time.

Had an oil leak and got it repaired for 1300 and still leaked then got it fixed again for 700 and still leaks. 2000 later and I still have a leaky car
