I went to another dentist before coming here. The first dentist has deceptive pricing and more interested in your money than your dental health. I definitely had a different experience with this dentist office. The dentist and team working your teeth are knowledgeable and thorough. Thanks to their feedback, I am now on a path to having healthier teeth and gums! Kudos to the dental team. Now the bad part…….there is one person who works the reception area (not the receptionist who checks you in) that always seems to be a bit unpleasant and irritable of my presence. Prior to becoming a patient, I have never seen or had any encounters with her; not sure of the issue. My guess is (perhaps) she may not like that I am a black. Every dentist I have called or inquired about typically takes payments as services are rendered, right? (Rhetorical) This is THEE ONLY dental office I have visited where I cannot pay for services as they are rendered! According to this person, I have to pay for the total service up front although the work must be performed in increments. Perhaps if I looked like her, I would have received different feedback. The quality of works matters to me, so for that reason, I will continue my dental plan there. She should know SERVICE is just as important as quality. As a patient, I should never feel energy as if I am a nuisance for asking financial questions or scheduling my next visit. I almost despise there is a need to have interaction with her; however, I will uphold professionalism and dignity despite her actions. Her attitude and issue is bigger than me. If the expectation is for me to get out of character because I am black, she will need to form a new expectation with me; it’s her job and dental practice that will be impacted by an unpleasant attitude. Other than that, good dental team that I highly recommend!

Please put stock into these recent reviews. I was very behind on my dental work and knew this. I came into Uptown Premier and had a consultation. In addition to the few concerns that I knew needed to be addressed, I was told I had gingivitis with gum disease, 8 cavities, need for multiple fillings, would need to come back every 3 months for deep cleanings instead of 6 months for the standard cleanings because I had so much tartar under my gums that a regular cleaning couldn't address, etc. I was quoted $6,000 for everything that would need done (they also push you to sign off on a dental treatment plan - not legally binding or anything but still feels like you are signing away on $6k.) I walked away thinking it is what it is, until I read the low star reviews who had almost this identical experience so I looked for multiple second opinions. When I told one dentist that Uptown Premier suggested I had gingivitis and gum disease, he quite literally laughed in my face and said I had healthier gums than 95% of the patients he sees. They also thought me needing this quarterly deep cleaning was ridiculous and addressed the remarkably massive amounts of tartar that were under my gums (according to Uptown Premier) with a simple, standard cleaning that took 20 minutes. Also, 8 cavities? Nope, I only have one. I received a quote from an office for all of the actual work I need for around $1300. The only thing I will say is that everyone here was friendly and answered questions but it is hard to put a lot of stock into that when other dentists straight up said they were lying to my face.

I took myself and my teenage twins there for cleanings in June 2023. We had not been to the dentist in 15 months; but prior to that, we went every 6 months and they never had a cavity. The good news, I had a cleaning done which was quick, and painless. When the doctor found a couple of small fillings I needed; she was able to do them on the spot. The dentist had the best needle technique I've ever experienced (and I have had a lot of dental work on a very expensive mouth). The bad news.... they told me my 15-year-olds had such bad periodontal disease they needed under-the-gum scraping (under anesthesia), many/many fillings plus wisdom teeth removal. They wrote a treatment plan for and the receptionist asked me to pay over 6K each to begin this treatment. Having kids who have been dealing with anxiety, I could see how this would send them into a dental tailspin which might mean they refuse to go back ever - I was devastated. I felt overwhelmed and could not even fathom how going in for a cleaning turned into being asked to pay over $12,000. Today (July) I took the twins for a second opinion and was told that there is no periodontal disease and that both children only needed 2 fillings total with an estimate of under $1000 (including buying a custom night guard for teeth grinding). So, despite Dr. Vu's excellent technique for gentle numbing, I will not be going back.

If I could give less than one star I would. I came in for a cleaning and saw Dr. Lindsey (I believe was who I saw) who absolutely lied to my face about my teeth. They make this treatment plan that is absurd. I have no history of dental issues and a total of three cavities my 23 years of life. I have good home care and healthy gums. After they started with an x-ray (which my new dentist said were terribly done and had to end up getting redone by the new one) Dr. Lindsey made up this elaborate explanation of my teeth having four fillings, an emergency need for a crown on one tooth, and gingivitis on the brink of gum disease. The “manager” came in and told me the pricing totaling to around $5000-$6000 which I would pay $2500 OOP. I mentioned that I would want to get a second opinion and after that the entire atmosphere changed service wise. I went to a new dentist that was recommended to me “BridgeHampton Dental” who told me I had absolutely amazing home care, zero cavities, no gum disease or gingivitis. They actually offered me free teeth whitening treatments for new patients which I’m starting this week. Overall I REPEAT DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. They need to be reported to the State Board for malpractice. Seems to me they are in need of money and looking to make any buck off of their clients instead of caring for their patients health instead.

I have been seen in this practice for the past 34 years and can readily and with no reservations recommended the great experiences here. Their front end staff, dental staff and dentists are all professional, friendly, cheerful and go the extra mile to make sure everything is well managed. I have never been turned away from anything I needed. I have seen negative reviewers on other sites with various complaints. I do not have any objective way to understand their complaints, so I cannot “invalidate” them. However, I have posted “opposing” reviews as a longtime patient of the practice. These other reviews also claim the employees are unhappy and underpaid. I know that many of these staff members actually carpool together from over 65 miles away to work each day they are open. Sound like an unhappy staff? No, it doesn’t. I think that more than a few people already have fears of visiting the dentist, and the mere fact they are having to go (or have waited toooooo long to go), exacerbates their issues. Again, just trying to provide a rational for their complaints. I myself live in South Carolina, and have plenty of dentists to choose from where I am residing. Yet, I take the extra time to drive into downtown Charlotte to get the kind of continuing dental care that I will ALWAYS expect from this practice.

Ohhhhh boy let me tell you I’m terrified of the dentist!! But I was dealing with a unbearable amount of pain and it got to a point I had to do something. I call and the front desk lady answered my million questions that I had with out skipping a beat.. impressive I thought.. well they set me an appointment rather quickly a few days later I arrive shaking like a leaf. Dr vu and her amazing employees show me what’s going on and I commit to a surgery. I told Dr. Vu I didn’t want to remember anything and she says ok. I thought sureee Well we set an appointment within a week the next Monday. Good for me I won’t have enough time to back out Lol. Well the dreaded surgery day arrives and I walk in pay and have a seat a few mins later they give me a pill to relax. The next thing I know I’m 3 sheets in the wind I get a IV I’m K.O and the surgery is done. Honestly if I knew it was this easy I would have done it a long time ago. I’m a week past my surgery with no pain. Now I’m waiting for my gums to heal to get partials. Would recommend 100% no doubt. I really can’t believe I’m saying this but I love this dentistry!

Very THIS IS NOT A GOOD DENTIST OFFICE!! I went into this this dentist office this past May 2021 for tooth extractions. Before going under sedation, the "dentist" never once spoke to me to introduce herself or explain the details of her procedure to me. At the end of my extractions, I still never saw the dentist, I never received a follow up concerning the healing of my gums. And to top things off: I was left with fragments of teeth in my gums, after the extractions. I'm still having problems with my gums healing, and will not have to visit a real dentist for assistance. The overall experience in visiting this dentist office was uncomfortable and a bit strange. I initially thought it was my dentist phobia, but now that I have had a chance to reflect, I certainly think something is not right with this place, and the mystery dentist that runs it. I would not be surprised to see this dentist office featured on the news media for questionable practices. PROCEED WITH CAUTIONN

Was using ZocDoc to conveniently schedule an appointment. They canceled my appointments more than 3 times, had me call to reschedule and never had availability for me as a new patient. Then they harassed me to schedule another appointment with them and couldn’t do so because of the times they ONLY have available for new patients. Now that I have the time to schedule a visit they refused to see me because of how many appointments were canceled and blamed me for canceling even though THEY WERE THE ONES TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENTS. The receptionist even told me to NOT USE THE ZOCDOC application….. so why have that option for people if you don’t recommend it?? Terrible customer service from the receptionist and the office manager. NO HELP AT ALL FOR NEW PATIENTS

I absolutely LOVE this dental practice!!!!! They have provided a variety of services over many years - ALL that I would rate as EXCELLENT!!!! Heather - the hygienist - recently cleaned my teeth and maintained her flawless focus on customer service. She was compassionate, professional, thorough and time conscious. She was patient with my idiosyncrasies and was not bothered by them. Heather is only ONE example of the professionals in this office. Because they have consistently rendered quality services, I have continued to return to them - even when I moved away from the uptown area. I am so satisfied with this group that I simply CANNOT imagine going anyplace else for dental services.

Always great. Always quick, courteous. Office staff are kind and friendly and efficient. Dr. Lindsay and Hillary are always a joy to work with. Overall, very positive experience. ****UPDATE **** Had some work done 2.21.23. Hillary and Dr. Lindsay were doing the work. I told them I needed to update my review. These two are very friendly, courteous, personable, and an absolute hoot!! Their humor helps to make an unpleasant procedure more bearable. We drive about an hour to get to this office and it is well worth it. Thanks to the entire staff for a pleasant encounter.

I have a REAL FEAR of dentists. I was traumatized at 19 by one and I haven’t seen one since! Needless to say, my mouth is now in need of help. The staff was amazing and Dr. Lindsay was as well. They understood my situation, they weren’t judgmental, very professional and informative. I didn’t have anything other than a consult done at my first visit but they way I was treated, curved my fear enough to go back and have what I need done, done. I feel as though I can trust this office with my care and my emotions. This will be my new dentist office for sure!

I decided to have my dental work done here because I thought the previous doctor was still there. On my second visit I had paid for 2 root canals and crowns. At the end of my visit I was told that I needed to return for a filling but I didn’t understand until the next day after the numbing and swelling that she had took half of one of my good teeth therefore forcing me to come back for more work. Now that same tooth is giving me extreme pain which it never has before! I wouldn’t recommend this place to one one!

I decided to find a new dentist after the front desk had a fit after I asked her why she wanted me to sign a 'quote'. My hygienist was great but I was told I had cavities. I decided to decline their treatment since it was the 3rd time in a row they told me I had some. Never had cavities growing up so I thought it was unusual that I would all of a sudden get so many. Fast forward went to my new dentist and voila! No cavities. Conclude as you will.

I had a wonder experience at this office! I was really nervous and Dr. Lindsey took great care of me! From the moment I walked in the door they greeted me and made me feel comfortable. They took the time to explain everything and were very knowledgeable. I would recommend this office to anyone. It’s in uptown but don’t let that fool you. This group treats you like family and is so friendly!! Highly recommended!!!

Truly the best of the best and the brightest of the brightest. I have never had such a collaborative and conversational dental experience. It was enlightening, detailed and patient specific. In all my dental visits, I have never had someone explain what they were doing, why, took pictures and explained everything with such detail. So grateful to have found this office. 10/10…. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

Heather is the best hygienist. She's thorough and neat, so you won't get those hard flossing motions other hygienists use. Dr. Vu has excellent report with patients. She's professional and funny. All the receptionists genuinely care about you and take time to explain anything if you have questions. If you are looking for a group of people can make the dentist bearable, here they are.

This is the worst place to go. The staff are very rude and unprofessional. Also you better look closely at how you are billed. And for goodness sakes do not launch a complaint or they will simply hang up in youre ear. This place is terrible. I cannot believe such a skilled dentist allow such behavior from her staff. You should not go here for any reason. No stars

Starting as you enter the office, there’s Always smiling faces from beginning till end! Dr. Vu made my experience very comfortable while I had a little doubt on what was taking place, yet always wanting my smile to look its best. She’s a perfectionist so she’ll work at it till it’s perfected!!! I’ve been all smiles since I left! Thanks again ladies!

Dr. Vu and her dental team are the kind of health care professionals you'd wish also doubled as your Gynae, your therapist, and your PCP. That way you'd know you're getting authentic care all around. Dr. Vu's bedside, or I guess, 'chairside' manner alone is through the roof! I was a first time patient and now, hopefully, all time dental patient.

Uptown Premier, and Dr Lindsey were phenomenal. They were able to schedule my appointment immediately. Additionally, their customer service, both prior to my appointment, as well as in-person was top-notch. Dr. Lindsey was very articulate, and thorough and made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend!

I have only been going here a few months but Dr. Lindsay, and absolutely everyone else is amazing! They have helped watch/entertain my 2 yr old while I’m getting worked on, they are the sweetest & most patient group of employees (nobody likes the dentist; they make it very pleasant) definitely recommend for quality dental care.

I normally have terrible anxiety when I go to the dentist, but the staff was wonderful and helped ease my anxiety. Danielle was very helpful in getting me an appointment as soon as possible. Hillary was a wonderful assistant, she explained each procedure in detail. I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone.

Very misleading overall and not very kind when you ask questions about your ‘treatment plan’ I feel I received services that were not medically necessary and I hate the way my fillings turned out, not shaped to my bite at all. They give free services to customers for the positive reviews.

Had 2 roots canals earlier this year on 2 top teeth. Crowns not fitted properly which has been causing pain and the dentist cracked one of my teeth on the bottom. Definitely will never go back to them again. Had a root canal before and never experienced a problem.

It was awesome! I was so nervous picking a new dentist up here and they did an awesome job. They were very detailed and answered all of my questions. Dr.Vu was so funny!! They were also fast and very cost efficient. I would actually recommend them to everybody.

Very friendly staff. I guess I had only scheduled a consultation (or check up) even though I wanted a cleaning (oops...thought it was all-inclusive). They fit me in for the cleaning immediately. X-rays, video, cleaning, and I was out in under an hour.

Dr. Vu is an awesome. Gave me a very well game plan for my treatment. Have several fillings done. No pain and most importantly her injection skill is superb. I didn’t even feel the needle and she didn’t even use numbing gel. Highly recommended

Dr Athena Vu is the worst dentist I have ever experienced. She broke a perfectly good implant and had to send me to another dentist to try and repair the damage she caused.
