I've had this on my places to visit and I'm so happy we went last night. The building is gorgeous. The bar wrapped around the outside of the building starting with a hidden garden feeling and we ended up in the inside/outside covered area with the absolute coolest decor. It was southwest meets cozy. The entire design of this place is great! The bar tenders are very kind and consistent. It was a decently busy Saturday night and they seemed to enjoy their job which is refreshing in Nashville. Kudos to all the staff. The bar/food line gets long but it moves pretty quick. I got a cesaer salad and this puffy bread with a plate of FRESH cheese and olive oil. I would go back for this meal today! I would write what it's called but it's too many letters to recall. Very enjoy experience yesterday. Highly recommend this spot.

When my friend told me that we were going to the Urban Cowboy, my mind was imagining something like a Honky Tonk bar. Wow! I was wrong. This place was an Inn of Wonders! I absolutely Love the interior. There's also a bar that closes earlier inside than the outside bar, so be mindful. It was giving midwestern apothecary for the decor. Around back you'll find the outdoor seating that makes for a perfect space to sit and listen to the band, have a catch up session with your friends or do both. Now, let's get into this back bar & pizzeria. How neat! They closed at 11p I believe. I didn't get a chance to order pizza I was too busy indulging in Sunday Shifters (drink) but the next time I visit please believe I will and I'll have something to add!

Can't beat the atmosphere. Given the name, unsuspecting folks might expect a honky tonk, but this is East Nashville's version of cowboy. It's one of my go to spots for ambiance, especially in the evening when it's dimly lit and the fires are going. Excellent bartenders, not pretentious at all. Expect lines at the bar on weekends, but there's ample seating.

My friend and I were the only black patrons at this spot, this must be noted. I waited 15 minutes in a line for drinks and food, and I was rushed away by a bartender who seemed to care more about serving the group of white females who were next behind me. I got real vibes that the white male bartender’s way of flirting with this white female patron beside me was by being rude to me— We all know “White men can’t jump.. they have no game”— or maybe he was just racist and wanted the white patrons around to join in making me feel uncomfortable. Either way the pizza was decent but not good enough to make me come back there anytime soon.

This place is mood. It’s my greatest find of the month. Go there at night, it just lights up and transforms the whole place making it 1000 times better than day-time. Cocktails are great. The garden seating area is my favorite, you can choose from so many nooks and corners in the garden. It feels private at the same time communal. Lighting is so warm and welcoming and cozy. There’s a fire place there. I didn’t get to try food but definitely planning on doing that on my next visit. Love love love. It’s on my list to take my out of town friends at.

Unique cocktails. Most of the time there’s not a long wait at the bar. The bartenders are attentive and quick. Very dog friendly bar, regardless of the fact that my dog took the words of Gloria Estefan seriously as the jazz band started to play. She was very concerned that the rhythm was going to get her. We calmed her concerns as we devoured the delicious pizza provided by Roberta’s. I would eat three of those in one sitting. The wine bar is also super friendly and does their best to make sure you get the best glass of wine they can provide.

I’d been wanting to go to this place for years, and we finally went last night. The vibe is so unique and chill. The space is absolutely beautiful. Loved the big outside area—seating on the porch or behind the house. 4/5 because the drinks just didn’t live up to the hype for me. We were also bummed the inside bar closed early at like 10pm. That said, I’m glad I went to check it out. If I lived in Nashville, I would likely return.

Urban Cowboy Public House is a great addition to East Nashville. It is built off the back of a classic East Nashvile house. It offers a pretty unique experience when it comes to atmosphere and drinks. I would recommend anyone to check it out and enjoy the hard work and transformation that went in creating Urban Cowboy. Oh! And you will need to head around the back of the house to get to the entrance.

Wow!! This place is so cool. We just happened onto it, but we will absolutely go back. Beautiful space, tons of atmosphere. Great cocktails and drink options. We didn't get any food because we already had dinner plans, but the pizza smelled heavenly. Couldn't go in the house because of a private event, but I can't wait to check that out.

Went for the first time and ordered one glass of wine. I tipped. When I checked my bank statement several days later, I noticed that the bartender gave themself $4 on top of the tip I left. Definitely check your statements after visiting. It’s not the fact that it’s $4…it’s the fact this is illegal.

The whole vibe of this place was just what I needed. Such a mood! The outdoor seating area was super relaxing and offered some privacy considering how packed the place was. Pizza was excellent and the cocktails were as well. Our cousin from Alabama recommended we eat here and I'm glad we did. Highly recommend.

Came for drinks and was not disappointed. They had my favorite gin, Heyman's, and when I asked for an Eastside gimlet he didn't hesitate to ask what it was! Will definitely be coming back! They even had an amazing jazz band playing inside.

Incredibly well decorated boutique hotel. You definitely feel like you are in an authentic cowboy's home. To all of my photo opportunists, you will find many locations here so bring outfit changes! The bar area is very cool, and even during the pandemic - when I stayed here, it was still lively and very fun.

We loved this place. Simple menu with big taste. No reservations, outdoor seating and indoor seating that is somewhat open (covered). We tried a number of this on the menu and like everything. We arrived early and it was a good call. It was a rainy night but by 6/6 30 PM there was no seating availabie.

Beautiful old building with a small, but nice outdoor area with a fire pit and fire place. The atmosphere used to be great, but it's gotten a bit pretentious and they're now a bit too big for their britches. If you want a cocktail and are in East Nashville, try The Fox or Inglewood Lounge.

  • Tricia Johnson

Cool, small spot for delicious cocktails and great food. The mashed potatoes rocked! Staff was friendly and not pretentious. Wish it hadn't been rainy so we could enjoy the outdoor area. Got to take a look in the attached B&B which was beautiful and inviting.

Love the Public House’s courtyard so much!! The drinks are always so unique and good, the bartenders are very kind, and the new addition of Roberta’s pizza is so incredible We’ve loved going here during covid because they take such good precautions.

Great vibes all around here. The lines can be long for drinks but the bartenders are nice and do a great job. We loved the drink menu and overall would definitely be coming back

Urban Cowboy is exactly what I’ve come to expect in the south. An old building awaiting gentrification that’s been turned into a nice watering hole. The bar has their craft cocktail game going strong, and the Neapolitan pizzeria is solid.

  • Daniel Caffarel

This is a really beautiful spot. They put a lot of care into the details. The drinks were excellent and the service was outstanding. I really like the outdoor space and the big couch. The crowd was a little homogenous.

An awesome spot for happy hour with an inviting atmosphere and knowledgeable bartenders. Would probably be 5 stars if the outside was open, the fire pit was going, and I had gotten food. Will be back guaranteed.

Environment is 5/5! Like a movie set. Service was... enough. $12 cocktail was also adequate. You are paying for an ornate polished space to hang out in. So upping my rating from 3 to 4 stars!

Drinks are great! Lovely atmosphere. The jazz music is a nice tough and all the foliage is pleasing and fun to look at.

Rustic and comfortable bar with a young crowd and twists on classic cocktails. The drinks are worth the wait, although I would recommend going elsewhere to eat/snack.
