I would like to update my VCA review by saying that Kirk Kasuya, DVM, and Kristina Dellinger, DVM both at VCA Almaden are beyond outstanding in my wife and my opinion in regards to their knowledge & excellent bedside manner. We speak from the point of view of how Kirk administered great healthcare services to my 12 year old cat Chase and helping my other cat, 22 year old Java peacefully and respectfully leave us to move on to his next life. And now, Kristina is working with our newly adopted, five year old underweight female German Shepard with an eye infection and severe megaesophagus. And again, the great associates who work with Doctors Dellinger and Kasuya are very professional, friendly, and always stride to provide great customer service. It is nice to know that VCA Almaden continues to work hard in providing the very best services for our pets with their inhouse services and their extra ability to outsource special cases for additional attention.

This was my first time there. You have to call for an appointment due to Pandemic there is no walk in. The representative that answered the phone was courteous and helpful. Be prepared to have a carrier for your pet and be able to have a credit card for payment. When I arrive to the appointment, I called them to let them know I was there, a representative came out and took my kitty for his annual appointment and shots. After the visit the Vet talked to us and gave my kitty good health bill. The representative that took my kitty inside was very nice and you can tell she had a way with animals and that she cared. Overall, it was a great experience despite the pandemic they followed protocol to make it easy on us and my kitty.

They care more about making money than helping owners and their pets. I requested a call back from a doctor ( just had our yearly appointment for our dog which was very expensive) to ask a few questions. My question for a call back was ignored and I had to ask numerous times for a doctor to call me back. Even asking all those times, I still don’t know if a doctor will be calling me. She just kept saying over and over to “book an appointment” (more $$) and then “our doctors are busy (surgery and with other patients), we will try our best.” It feels like they only prioritize you if you are going in and paying. We’ve been going there for years, but now we will be mostly likely switching vets.

Dr took good care of my dog, he poked his eye with something needed a weeks worth of eye meds. $282 with my 20 coupon. Dr quoted one price for an allergy injection $42 and once I got home looked at the itemized bill, I was charged $67 for allergy injection. I also asked front desk if there was a charge for follow up visit, I was told the follow no, unless the Doctor prescribes more meds. At follow up visit check out I was charged $82. I questioned the charge and was told it’s there follow up charge. I reminded the front desk of our conversation… no charge for follow up visit? She said it because it’s a different Doctor. Not nice, not appreciated.

I don't know how much I really like this place. Most of the nurses there are super pushy to sell you something for your pet. I can't really tell if they care or if they are just trying to sell me another $50 shot. Last time I was there when i refused to get my dog a flu shot the nurse told me I'm not allowed to go to dog parks or outside or have my dog get into contact with any other dogs under any circumstances. I understand the seriousness of the flu, but she basically commanded that I understand that I cannot do anything with my dog except keep him at home. I didn't like that approach.

If the clinic is out of a vaccine and your appointment is for that vaccine then the clinic should have the courtesy to tell you before you arrive for the appointment. Generally, staff is courteous but they should acknowledge that you are there even if on a call. It only takes a wave, smile, or putting the call on a brief hold. I like the vets but they are always changing. Services are expensive and their wellness plan sounds good but is only minimal savings. I recommend doing the math before committing to the plan.

I am paying for my dog insurance almost$80.00 a month I called them this afternoon the person who answered he phone was rude I requested appointment she said go to the emergency we don’t have any appointment till next Wednesday that was not exceptional I have to wait one week I always got the appointment in the same day or so the emergency hospital she talked about have a bad reputation you just enter that place you have to pay $1000 for nothing

I just want to say, amazing customer service. I recently lost my pet rabbit, and went here for their cremation service. They helped with everything that I needed and was so understanding and sweet. They also took time out of their day to give their condolences through a beautiful card, that I really appreciate. I would 100% recommend coming here for any pet services. On top of that, all the staffs that i’ve talked to were amazing.

Over the past few months I have called to make appointments for my 2 dogs and every time I have been told that the next available appointment is at least 2-3 weeks out. Which was quite frustrating when my dogs were having pain issues. There suggestion was to go to an emergency clinic. So the only care they have provided was their yearly exam and vaccinations.

I've been taking my dog to the Almaden VCA since she was a pup and have seen many doctors and techs there during that time. She's received amazing care from all of these doctors and techs, whether it's a routine visit or a surgery. They consistently deliver good advice when needed and scheduling appointments is always easy and convenient.

Best veterinary experience ever! Dr. Jillian Fivecoat is really the most caring Dr (including human doctors) that I have encountered. She really took her time explaining everything to me, and was very helpful not only with my pet's healthcare but also with getting the right paperwork for taking my cat abroad for an international move.

I only board my dog here so my review only covers that. My dog doesn't take well to boarding but they really took care oh him here and do the extra to make sure he's comfortable. It's on the expensive side but you also have the comfort of knowing there is a vet on hand in case your furry baby needs care while you are gone.

The VCA has been awesome for my family over the last 6 years of having pets and sadly losing them sometimes too. We started going there when we moved to Almaden and still go now that we've moved further north (still in San Jose) They're not cheap but they're reasonable and I've really liked every vet I've ever met there.

Drs. Miyamoto and Ma are wonderful people who value not only your much loved fur baby, but realize the importance of their healthy existence in your life. Both have gone above and beyond in all instances in my over 16 year old dog and his sister who passed two and a half years ago. They are truly my Comfort Team!

Awesome animal vet place. Pickles, my guenia pig was treated like a rock star. They took time with her check up. Didnt rush me. Answered all my questions with knowledge of their art/craft. Definitely going back ! Great service and the price is very reasonable. 5 stars and a A+ in my book ! ❤ …

I love how kind and caring these ladies are with my doggy. My dog has major anxiety and these ladies always go out of their way to accommodate and make my dog feel comfortable, even if my dog doesn't like vet visits. She always comes back with a smile and is full of playful energy.

I’ve been taking my pets to VCA Almaden for nearly 20 years. Dogs, cats, bunnies, turtles, and more. They have consistently and compassionately given the best care imaginable to my animals, and the best professional advice to myself. I can not recommend them highly enough!!

We had to have our cat, KiKi, put to sleep. The staff here was very helpful and caring. We even got a sympathy card in the mail with a hand written note from the doctor telling us that KiKi died peacefully and quickly in the doctor’s arms. We were very impressed.

I found a lost dog, I stopped by to see if they have any informations on shelters, the lovely girl at the front desk informed me that the shelter is closed for the day but offered to take the dog in because I couldn't keep pets at my place Thank you VCA staff

Poppy Got me in on a Monday morning at 9 am for my cat being sick. So far have hit it right on the head with diagnosis and treatment. Explained at a high cost first and brought it down a few with some figures I could work with. So far so good.!.!.!

This is the top south bay VCA to goto if you can. Dr Stiehl and Dr Miyamoto are fantastic doctors and even better people. This place has earned my trust and my business based on their ethical approach to treatment and do what's right mentality.

The people at VCA Almaden are great people! They always make us feel at home and take care of any problems that we have with our animals. We have never had a problem here and will continue to bring our animals here for all of their needs.

We had an unfortunate, awful series of events with one of our cats going pre-, during, and post-move. They were able to get us in our first day in the city, and worked very hard to save our pet. The staff was very kind and compassionate.

The entire office is filled with the most professional, compassionate and dedicated people I've ever met in a veterinary clinic. My experience there has been nothing short of excellent for the care my pets have recieved.

VCA Almaden Valley Animal hospital, has given my 2 Labs outstanding health care. We are consistently treated very well by the staff and I would like to give thumbs up To Dr Ma for her excellent veterinary care.

We were disappointed after follow-up appt post veterinary emergency room visit. No appointment summary or treatment plan was provided, despite multiple requests.

I go in for a yearly check up. Dr. Fivecoat was amazing with my kitty and was so patient with me and answered all my questions. Highly recommend this VCA!

Doctor five coat is so nice and caring! We are so happy with her! We feel really good having her taking care of our 14 years old baby.

The results of the tests are not true, I took my pregnant dog and they told me that I would have 3 puppies and my dog only had 1 puppy
