We adopted our dog from the humane society so we came here and since the first appointment it has been a nightmare. We were charged for our first visit, shots, and fecal test and it came out positive. We weren’t aware of the deadline to bring our pet in. Our dog now has had manage since January. We have wiped of money from this animal vet. We took our pet in when we first discovered a hot spot. We were misdiagnosed as it being ringworm. (Gave ya topical meds for 22 days)I expressed my concern due to my pet having hair loss problems. She didn’t listen and pushed it off. We have been asked to put our dog on 100$ Benadryl. Since January we have been at the vet every month sometimes 2 times a month. They finally did a skin scrap after we waited 22 days for the “ringworm” like we were told. When I called back to let them know it’s getting worse they asked me why I would wait so long. I told them I was told my the vet. And they told me I should have called sooner. We came in right away and saw another doctor vet. She did a skin scrap on my pet and said he had Demodex manage. My husband and I had to pay again for this visit even thought the vet should have done the skin scrap in the first place. They gave us only 20$ off. The assistant told us to wait two weeks and if it wasn’t better the next time would be free of charge since we have been in the past 3 months. (Throwing our money away). The manage got worse and we called on the 14th day. We came in and the doctor said oh well it could take two more week. The only medicine she gave us was a heart worm prevention which is a way to get rid of it but it’s not really for specific manage but proven to work. They then told us we could purchase apoquel (higher dose of Benadryl) for 110$ we refused. We ended up leaving with shampoo. She told us to come back again for the 6th time and she would give him steroids. When we went to pay the bill had a charge for 43$ we told them they said next time it would be free we waited for the receptionist to figure it out for 10 mins. The receptionist is the best part about this place she was helpful but it was frustrating when they wanted us to pay again. She said we could fight the charge so we did but it was like pulling teeth. We ended up leaving and going to get a second opinion. Our new vet was appalled at our story and the treatment he was given my dog has fully been treated within these 3 weeks with medicine for actually manage. And he told us that apoquel and steroids make demodex manage flair up and worse. DONT NOT COME HERE!!!! this has been the worst experience of my life and I’ve had 6 dogs in my life they suck you dry of YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!
I’ve been going to Oak Hills VCA animal hospital for a while now and I have always gotten reliable and dependable service. My latest compliment comes with no cheerful outcome but the utmost service I could have hoped for. My dog had puppies and I called them up scheduled them for puppy check up Dr.H. Is awesome and she saw all of them gave them a good clean bill of health. 6 weeks later one of my poor puppies “Doc” wasn’t breathing right. So I called them up during this pandemic and they asked me to bring him in right away, mind you they were booked solid because when I got there every slot was taken. As I get there I wasn’t allowed inside because of their precautions and I was ok I knew my puppy was going to get the best care. I was called after 2-3 hours that there wasn’t anything they could they felt maybe I should take him to a bigger hospital. They even shopped around to tell me prices. I paid which was a reasonable amount for oxygen and services rendered and took my Doc to this other place to be cared for but before I left Dr. H. was very straight forward in telling me my puppy would probably not make it. My heart broke but she said see what they could do. I raced over there and it was a horrible. As soon as I got there it took them 10 minutes to come get my puppy and 2 minutes to call me and tell me for oxygen alone it would $3,000 and asked me how I would pay for this? I told them I would make payment arrangements for whatever was needed please just treat my dog a second later the doctor there at the facility felt they couldn’t do anything and that payments arrangements were to high for an arrangement. I called my Oak Hill animal hospital back and they were disgusted. So I’m going back to Oak hills and make the hardest decision to put my puppy down. Here I thought I wouldn’t be able to be with him during that process but they told me I could go in to be with him. I was so relieved that I was able to and at the same time scared I had never done this. Leave it to Dr H to make sure I was very well informed of everything that was going on and what was going to happened so I would not freak out. I’m truly thankful I was able to be with my fur baby even if it wasn’t the outcome I wanted, I still got honest reliable and outstanding customer service and I thank each and everyone of them.
When we first started taking our dogs here everything was great. They seemed to really care and be attentive to our furbabies. We decided to enroll in their care club program that we pay for monthly that saved us tons of money in vet bills. It seemed like a good idea at the time however it has gone downhill from there. We have had several emergencies that could have been treated at the office and were told we had to take our dogs to their emergency animal hospital to which we were told that it was not an emergency. Our dog broke out in hive and we called to get him in and we’re told they didn’t have an appointment available so again we would have to take him to an emergency hospital. All of this would be fine if we didn’t pay them monthly so we were forced to pay hundreds out of pocket. On top of that if we need a regular appointment good luck actually getting in to see anyone. Numerous times we have called for an appointment and the wait is 2 plus weeks. I understand scheduling ahead of time however you cannot predict when something goes wrong with your pet and two week waits are not always ideal. We have had to take our pets to other vets and hospitals to get them checked, again paying more out of pocket on top of the care club fee we pay every month for our dogs to not be able to get an appointment. I tried one last time with VCA to get my dog in. I called an was able to get them in same day which was great because that never happens. The appointment was at 5pm. We get there at 4:50 and check in. After waiting 15min they tell my fiancé that the doctor is running an hour late, they close at 6pm. At no time did they try to call before we drove all the way there or even say anything as we are checking in. We have had nothing but problems with them and would not recommend. The care club membership would be great if you could actually get in for an appointment. Will definitely be going to another vet that is more caring, available and actually takes the time to sit down and discuss what is going on with your babies rather than rushing through the appointment to get onto the next.
I would not reccomend this place to anyone with real concerns about their dogs. I took my newly adopted puppy to this vet clinic where the receiving staff were awesome. The two at the front desk were perfect, polite and got us in very quickly. It was when we met the tech that things started to go sour. Right away he talked to us about prescription dog food that he was incredibly persistent in selling. Then he told us whatever food we had was just not good for her even though he really had no idea what we were feeding her, he pretty much alluded that because we bought a brand name dog food we had no idea what we were doing. We tried to tell him our concerns about the dog who we had only had about a week, but selling their dogfood seemed to be the highest priority. Then the actual vet saw us. She was incredibly condescending and mentioned green beans too many times to count. She called my dog fat without taking into account her breed (she was within the right weight for a female in her breed) and that is pretty much all she cared about. Trying to give this office a chance, I asked her to check the dog's teeth because I was worried about infection on account of her abnormally bad breath. She didn't even look, she said "Oh she's a year, she'll be fine." Two months later, my boyfriend and I have found a completely black tooth that looks dead and rotting. If she had looked at it when I asked her to I could have dealt with it sooner. Instead my dog has been suffering and I had no idea. We are pretty sure she will have to have some sort of surgery to take the tooth out. Who knows? Maybe we could have saved the tooth, maybe saved her some pain and discomfort but I guess that takes a back seat to overly expensive dog food at this place.
This clinic used to be a great place to take my pets until maybe a year or so ago when I noticed visits started to get really expensive. Nowadays it seems like VCA nickel and dimes people for literally anything they can think of. I had been taking my cat there for a few years and suddenly he became lethargic and wasn’t eating. I had just come in for a regular check up not even two weeks beforehand and they gave me a clean bill of health (not to mention it was well over $200 just to bring two of my cats for an exam). Little did I know that he was having dental issues which were causing him to not eat due to the pain. VCA told me he would need a dental exam, cleaning, and possible extraction and couldn’t give me him anything else for the pain or managing the bad tooth. When they gave me an estimate of how much it might be, I really worried if I’d be able to afford the procedure because it would be over $1,000. Also, apart from that, I had to pay $160 just to have his blood drawn for pre-op. I decided I’d try to help my pet feel better with some antibiotics I had on hand and within three days he was back to eating and being his normal self. But I knew his teeth still needed attention, so I needed a second opinion. I also had to move soon to Austin. Luckily, I found a vet there who took care of my cat’s teeth and did multiple extractions for literally A THIRD of the price VCA was quoting me. I’m so relieved my cat was taken care of, but this made me realize how predatory VCA is when it comes to charging sky-high prices for necessary pet care. I’m disappointed because this had been a good clinic in the beginning, but I definitely won’t be bringing my pets back there again.
I moved from Dallas not too long ago and I had used a VCA vet up there and glad I had found one in San Antonio right down the street from me. I've taken both my kids to this location a few times when Gaston(dog) was sick and one time for Pumpkin(cat) for an annual check up. Every time they were greatly taken care of and we are always greeted with a smiles as soon as we walk in. The Veterinarian is nice and knowledgeable. She always seems happy to see my babies and I trust her to offer me the best options for them. The Vet did offer me a prescription food for only a week just because the situation called for it. And it helped! Then my pup was able to transition back to his normal food. Prices are never the fun part but the test/machinery aren't cheap and anyone here to complain about it needs to understand 1. The vets and staff don't make the pricing. 2. Owning an animal is expensive. They get sick just like we do. Before getting one you really need to take this into consideration. I think they are an awesome, caring team all together and I would highly recommend them to any pet owner. Love, Sarah, Gaston and Pumpkin <3
I really don't know where to begin; we absolutely love these guys! We adopted our fur-baby from the Humane Society as a heart-worm positive dog and this is where the society had us go for her treatments. She is now heart-worm free and we have found our lifelong vet office! They have always treated us amazing and the care is top notch. Even though we have moved and the drive is further, we still come here for all our veterinary needs. The front desk ladies are always warm and welcoming and even when busy, take the time to answer all my questions, whether in person or on the phone, and this is the only place we trust for boarding as well. We had Stella boarded here for her first overnight for our wedding and naturally I was a little worried to leave her for so long, but they exceeded our expectations with a decorated picture of her playing outside, a thoughtful card and an honest report card at the end of her stay. Even our visiting out of state family was very impressed with the level of care. We really love the VCA oak hills staff! Thank you so much for all you do.
OVER CHARGES FOR SUBSTANDARD CARE! They have been Bubbles' vet since she was a tiny-tot. Recently, hounded with messages, emails and postcards referencing a HeartWorm Test for Her despite the fact she has continuously been on preventative; which we have paid their ridiculous Rx High Prices for this and many other medications. AND WON'T PRESCRIBE/REFILL HER HWP UNLESS SHE IS TESTED!! ONE occasion we had an Appt, yet charged for TWO office visits/assessment;, $50 each !!! basic/non-emergent concerns!! We [All] pay the over cost of the various technologies used. Yet, when I called to clarify the charges, the secretary or billing person asked me for the transaction number, which I did not have. Low and Behold , She Could Not Help Me. Needless to say, most of these overpriced visits happened during Pandemic Isolation and You Could Not Be Present During EXAM!!! Poor Bubbles, we paid for her nails to be trimmed and each time she would pee because he was scared. That doesn't happen at home. SCOUNDRELS!
I've been twice now since the humane society, where I got my pup, offered a free checkup and flea/heartworm preventative for the first appointment. They were so sweet to my pupper. Quick wait if any and I was actually late. Dr Harble was really nice and knowledgeable and they answered all questions. My pup had thrown up in the car on the way over for the first appt (she got car sick, nothing serious) and they gave me Clorox wipes and a couple pee pads to put under her for the drive home. Her second trip she got a general puppy dewormer, and her first round of vaccines, which seemed reasonably priced. After the fecal results came back and she tested positive for Giardia, she needed 5 doses of another medicine. It was only 30 bucks. I have called twice with general puppy concerns and they actually answered my questions and asked the vet when they didn't know. So yeah, nothing but good things to say about this vet clinic and their staff.
I have taken all my pets here for the last 3 years (3 dogs and 2 cats) and have never had anything but the best care here. My 4 year old German Shepherd is very nervous when separated from me, but they soothe her and talk quietly to her until she calms down rather than just rushing her through things or giving her sedative shots--both of which would be far easier for them. Also I don't know what Christabel was talking about--I've called them several times for advice and have been told about canned pumpkin for diarrhea, the correct dose of Benedryl for a dog (my 2 1/2 year old GS mix has sensitive skin), and they called me after hours to answer questions about my youngest GSD who got spayed at SNAP and had complications SNAP wouldn't take care of. They gave excellent care and advice above and beyond for her, and they didn't even do the surgery! I've been beyond satisfied with the vets and staff and recommend them wholeheartedly.
My daughter's Weimaraner decided to hurtle through the doggy door sideways. One screw wasn't completely recessed. It took a chunk out of her side. It hardly bled. Was about the size of a half dollar. $950 for the initial visit. I don't understand how poor people can afford to have pets these days. The technology they have learned to apply in vet medicine is expensive. There are fewer opportunities to use the tools, ergo high charges. They've also begun taking care of our pets at the same level of service a human patient would expect. This office went above and beyond with their general attitudes, better than care given by most human doctors. My daughter really can't afford the cost, but what can you do? She can spread it over a year because I paid for it. That will make it harder to balance her budget for a year. So expensive here, but same everywhere else, so come here for the bedside manner.
I recently brought my cat here, as she was not feeling well. She was not eating or drinking and she was running a fever. I was so worried about her, but VCA took such good care of her! They made everything quick and easy for me and they were so awesome with Wilma (my cat)! Most importantly every step of the way was SAFE, with their covid safety procedures. I was worried that I would be there all day because I did not have an appointment, however, the wait time was not long at all. Dr. Benavente was so sweet and caring and was sure to follow up personally to make sure Wilma was feeling better and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. The staff was also so friendly and efficient! Very affordable as well. Thank you guys so much for getting Wilma back to her old self! I highly recommend VCA Oak Hills for all of your pets needs!
I'm not sure why it had a rating of 1 star from me when I looked at it- that's completely inaccurate. I've been taking my dog here for a couple years now and it's been great. We like that they recognize him by name (it's punny and distinct, I guess) and they're always helpful. We've definitely had some wait times and they get predictably busy during peak hours, but we've trusted them for checkups, dental, vaccinations, even grooming and boarding (though they are admittedly more of a backup for our boarding situations). We've actually moved about 10-15 minutes farther from them and haven't found a vet that inspires the same trust in us yet... so we still make the drive to VCA Oak hills whenever we need them. That's probably the only reason we would stop using them in the foreseeable future.
Client for 2 years. Cellular biology is my cup of tea. Believe it when I say the staff here are vastly superior to all others I've tried. +Clean, flea-free lobby. +Up to date equipment/well maintained. +Waiting area is spacious and comfortable. +100% accurate diagnosis/treatment options. +Pro staff members are always friendly. -Not open 24/7 +Everything costs a bit less due to fewer employees on the payroll. Savings are noticeable. +Experience dealing with my pet insurance provider. +Convenient location and wide variety of services offered. I only have experience taking my dogs there and assume they are equally elite with felines, ect. VCA Oak Hills is this cynics pick for best Vet/Pet Spa in Texas. Go see for yourself. You'll thank me later.
Cake LOVES this place. Cake doesnt really like anyone or any place - shes a str8 up Chi Chi deep down in her soul! But she loves the front desk ladies at VCA Oak Hills! Ms Kim and Ms Nicole are her absolute fav people and Cake doesnt really have fav people. She has to "christen" the front desk every time shes there. Front desk ladies know what I mean lol - "Im sorry ladies lol" I really appreciate all the staff being so patient with her. how even Dr B is like yeah she kinda is unruly but its our fault.. we love her lol. I know my Cake is A LOT but I REALLY appreciate that all the staff here just loves on her despite her ChiChitude!!! I wouldn't go anywhere else! Im sure Toffee Cake feels the same way!!
I was referred to the VCA by the humane society and have been taking my 3 dogs here for 4 months. They have been absolutely amazing!! The facility is always clean. Everyone is always very professional and kind. I never have to wait that long to be seen. Sometimes if I schedule a walk in to be seen I could be seen immediately. I've taken previous dogs to other vets and usually a visit is VERY costly, not here. The services are very affordable and if you get a nail trim they even throw in a bandana. This is by far one of my favorite vets I have been to. I hope you understand the previous negative comments are NOT a reflection of this amazing facility. You can end your search for a vet here.
I took my sick cat over there and they gave me medicines for her said she'll be fine once she takes the meds and get her fixed . gave her her medicine and the next day she died. I truly believe they didn't fully examine her and didn't know what they were talking about. And the so called medicine killed her cause BEFORE she took the medicine she was walking around more than she was with the medicine. This PLACE IS A JOKE THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!!! You know theres more IMPORTANT things than money and thats a LIFE money can come last theres always gonna be money. I JUST WANT MY CAT BACK!!!!!! BUT THATS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN I HATE YALL VCA AND YALL CANT FEEL WHAT WE FEEL . YALL SUCK
Don't come here if your animal is sick I went to get my cat examined and the doctor pretty much didn't do anything good for my cat didn't even know what was wrong with her just went based off of what her symptoms were and thought what it could be in her head an actual doctor would do more to get her checked the doctor did purscribe me what antibiotics to help her and the pain and another pill to help with appetite they said she'll be okay as long as I get her spayed but ever since the medicine I gave her she made no progress my cat ended up passing away this morning after 2 days of my cat taking that medicine they recommended me ended up killing her.
I called VCA because my pet died and didn't know what to do. It was a Saturday and on July 1st so not too many places picking up the phone but VCA did. This was a first time experience for my husband and I. The staff at the front desk was so friendly. I can't recall their names but they were so polite and respectful. I called slightly after 12 and they closed at 1. The receptionist took down my name and number just in case I couldn't get to them before they closed. I got there in time and they immediately got my dog and took care of us so we didn't have to wait around. I definitely recommend this place.
VCA Oak Hills is my go-to veterinarian for the past 4-5 years and I feel like my pups are well taken care of. Everyone is friendly, helpful and even through these difficult times. The only negative thing I can say is that I was a little upset to see that I was charged about $20 for a nail trim during a $400 visit. Maybe it's just me but I think it should be a complimentary service, at least or especially when I'm already paying such a huge amount and a major surgery scheduled the following week. Anyway- other than that a great vet office that takes good care of our furry friends! ❤❤
We love this place for our baby girl (belle). They have always been polite and nice and caring. I saw the review about the pricing and how VCA was not truthful and I can tell you that’s a lie. Every single visit the doctor calls me before they perform the work and goes over the pricing. She also goes a step further and tells me which cost can wait and what is priority of course I always opt to just get it all taken care of, but the customer service is awesome. We are even about to go on a vacation for a week and plan to leave our dog with VCA as don’t trust anybody else.
They went above and beyond to get me an appointment. My regular vet couldn’t see my cat for more than 8 days. VCA was able to see her the next day . Even though I was new there , they made us both feel like extended family . The techs, MD and front staff were warm and welcoming. They even booked a follow up as precaution & told me I could cancel easily should her symptoms resolve . Can’t thank them enough for their kindness & professionalism, I highly recommend this location . Needless to say , they have become my new point on care for any & all of my fur babies needs .
My cat acquired a rash and eye infection after dental surgery. I told them she had acquired these issues while at their clinic. They never accepted any responsibility and then charged me to treat it which their treatment did not solve the issue and I had to spend more money taking her to a qualified veterinarian who solved the issue at half the cost. I notified them twice when they sent a text asking if they solved the issue and would never respond. I am not a disgruntled individual just please be aware you are putting a loved one in their care.
Update- after they read this review, the hospital manager got in touch with us and explained the issue with the phones, got our pup in right away and were Awesome!! So glad we got through to them! Thank you Oak Hills VCA! **(original review) We’ve been calling for two days as we’re new to the area and used to have a VCA vet in another town. They don’t answer the phone and there’s no voicemail. About every other time that we call it goes to a fax machine ring. Looks like we don’t have any choice but to go to another vet. Disappointed.**
We just rescued a yorkie and noticed how her claws was starting to fold into her paw. Called VCA not even 15mins before they were supposed to close. Got there right at 6 and she let me in. The lady at the front desk was so helpful! Even over the phone she tried helping me. I've been here once before with my rescued pit and She was even helpful then! I never felt so loved and Welcomed before! We'll be a forsure returning customer just because of her customer service and her love of animals! And thank you to everyone who helped out
They are very sweet to my 12 yo dachshund McKenzie. They don't lecture. They provide printout estimates before they do anything. They provide alternate care plans if you can't afford the one they first present. My McKenzie underwent anesthesia for dental cleaning and extractions and various other procedures. She was taken care of very well and provided with ample pain pills to take home. They followed up with her the next day and provided antibiotics. This is a great place to take your pet for pedicures to serious surgery.
I had to euthanize my dog of 11 years and 7 months today. It was by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do. The a staff from the reception to the vet and vet tech, where so compassionate. They made my dog and my self feel safe, and they actually cried with us as Max feel asleep. I have no words that can express the gratitude I have for having come across the vet clinic. They made one of the hardest days of my life, less stressful and more importantly they treated my pet with dignity and respect. Thank you so much guys.
I was not able to get into my current vets office as a last minute appt, My daughter referred meto VCA, and to my surprise, after shopping around calling around Id like to share that this was the Most affordable vet I've ever taken my little girl too. Staff was super sweet, compassionate, thorough and professional. This place was super clean, and I was fortunate enough to schedule a same day emergency visit for my baby. I'll be dropping my current vet for this vet. As I was super impressed and saved money. Thank you VCA.
Had an appointment for my two kittens on 9/21 at 10:30am. I left work early so I could be sure to get them to their appt on time. While I waited to be taken to a room, I asked the receptionist twice what was taking so long and she said that she didn't know. After waiting 35 minutes past my appt time, I left. When I told the receptionist that I was leaving, her only response was to ask my kittens names so she could cancel the appointment. Now I take them to another vet who respects my time as much as I respect theirs.
Love this place! The vet and their staff are super friendly and gentle with my dogs. They even remember my pet by name and recognize us by warmly greeting us by name. Sometimes they give my dogs a little treat bag to take home. My pet is always excited to go to the vet because they treat him well here. He gets lots of love and attention from the staff. Reasonably priced and honest guidance on all shots and procedures required. Also, there's always availability to squeeze my pets in for a last minute appointment.
I DO NOT recommend this place. The girl in the glasses sitting in the front desk was too busy drinking her starbucks. Never got called had to tell the person sitting at the front right quick she got our paperwork and called for a vet like I didn't notice. This is unacceptable. Very unprofessional. This place has gone downhill. I've been bringing my pet here since 2019. I will take my business elsewhere. UPDATE TO THE OWNER'S RESPONSE :I DID EMAIL ON NOV. 11TH NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM ANYONE
Kind people. But they didn’t meet our needs. We decided to go with another VCA facility for a second opinion. We’ve been in this two week back and forth for a charge to my account that wasn’t completed. Spoke with Jess and Erika on the same day and were told something different by each of them. No notes in the system from when we called a week ago. Kind of frustrated having to deal with them for this long. I’m happy I went to a different facility that met the needs for my pets health quickly.
I have been taking my dog here for the past year. I am a new dog owner since last year so this is my first experience as a Dog mom. The workers here are very friendly. My dog is a especially nervous puppy and the workers there do a very nice job taking their time to get my dog feeling comfortable before doing the exam. My boyfriend goes to a different place for his vet which I notice is a bit cheaper then VCA oak hills however I would still recommend this location to friends and family.
We had to make the heartbreaking decision to put our fur baby down and my regular vet was not available. This vet was the closest to me and had great reviews. Called them first thing in the morning and they gave me an appt that same morning. The staff and doctor were so understanding, knowledgeable and compassionate. It was painful but we couldn’t have picked a better place. Again, they were so compassionate, patient and understanding. I can’t thank the staff and doctor enough.
I recently adopted a dog and they gave a complimentary vet check up. I took. I thought since it was free they where going to treat me a different way. Nope. I got there and they are the kindest people ever! You can tell the love what they do. They were very imfortive and helpful. They treated me and my dog with love and excellence. They called afterward to follow up with my chewy (dogs name). I will definitely be coming here for all my needs. !! I highly recommend this place!
Everyone is so nice! Easy to talk to and patient with both animal and owner. Don't have much to go on as far as pricing, but appears to be affordable - offers for alternative financing posted clearly as well. Staff is awesome! Dr's, vet techs, and front desk, personable and friendly. Both doc's on staff right now are wonderful and come with bedside manner! (Have met a few vets that could take a lesson from these two...) You can tell they care about the animals.
The people here are so helpful and you can tell they love animals and treat them like as if their own. I brought a cat in here a couple of times, treated her like a queen. Unfortunately I had to put her down bc she had nine cancer and I took her here and they knew my pain and here and they even have me a room away from the rest with a blanket and flowers and even some Kleenex. They treated her very well. And me too. I suggest you go here.
We’ve brought our Ollie here multiple times & each time we have had nothing but a good experience every time we’ve brought him. The staff is super welcoming & friendly. It really shows they care for our fur baby. We really wanna thank & show recognition to Mia, Jessi, & Dr B for taking care of Ollie. They made us feel heard & eased our concerns. So if you’re considering bringing your fur baby to this facility, I highly recommend it!
My first time here and I was honestly impressed. Everything seemed clean and the staff was very friendly and understanding especially when I mentioned about my dog having anxiety. They got us taken care of in a timely manner and everyone I came in contact with was very caring and nice. It was a bit of a drive away (~30 minutes) but I think we will continue to go to this vet clinic when our dog needs to be seen!
At this office, everyone is a competent/knowledgeable and friendly animal-lover, even the receptionists (Eva stands out to me, but they all know their stuff). No one will take any action that might cost you money without first explaining the reason they think it's a good idea and exactly how much it will cost, and even then they will only do so with your permission. It's a feature that I appreciate a lot.
I always take my pets here. These doctors are like primary care physicians for our pets. This says hospital but they are not a 24/7 ER. The 24/7 ER is not too far away though. I came in for our family cat. The Dr quickly assessed her and determined she was in critical condition and urged us to go to ER instead. I'm so thankful for the fast and friendly service we received that night.
Dr. Hardbold and all the vet techs and staff have always been amazing with my high anxiety rescue. She offers options based on my budget, and does not hesitate to call me personally for updates on his health or give me helpful advice. I trust this place with any and all my questions and emergencies and do not hesitate to recommend this efficient vet clinic to anyone that asks.
I brought in my cat, Papa, in for his first ever appointment and they handled our worries and concerns for Papa's health for a reasonable price. Papa needed a neuter, wound treatment, his vaccines etc. The staff were super welcoming and kind! A lovely team all around~ We brought in a stray we found in a dumpster and the next day he was clean and ready to start his new life!
I've been very cautious in trying new vets, but i am very happy i found this clinic. The staff members are very courteous and i haven't had so much communication than with them. We went over different cost options and ultimately i joined the care club which covers almost all yearly and preventative costs. Thanks you guys for the amazing attention; the girls appreciate it!
First vet's office I've fully had confidence in. My tech is usually Erin and she's absolutely awesome and always so helpful. i 100% recommend any of the dr's here! Your babies are in safe hands at Oak Hills. It's been a relief to find this place after going thru so many vets just wanting more $$$ and not wanting to find solutions.
This place is awesome! I have a huge 90lbs pitbull and I can’t even trim his nails. Well not only do they do this for us on a regular basis they also gave him a doggie day at the spa. This is our usual vet but they’ve defiantly proved to be the best. Dr. Olguin is so awesome and great at her job. We recommend this place for sure .
The vets and vet techs really care about my pets, and the Care Club is a great deal for routine care and for those pet parents (speaking from experience) that overly worry and want a professional to look at the pet when they act weird. The vets are still respectful even when telling me that my pets are just dramatic …
Great dog boarding! We love taking our dogs to this particular VCA when we can’t take them with us on our trips. They provide feedback about how your pets are doing during and after their stay. They have a large outdoor play area and even had pools during our last stay. I highly recommend this location for dog boarding!
They were so awesome from a customer service perspective. Very nice and genuinely interested in getting to know my pet. When I mentioned he's not terribly fond of being overly handled, they made every attempt to treat him as gently as possible and I really appreciated it. Really highly recommend this place!
My furbaby had been going to them for years and I have NEVER had a bad experience. The staff members are absolutely WONDERFUL. I had to put my furbaby down a week ago and they helped me tremendously. I don't think I'll ever want another furbaby..but I sure do recommend this vet clinic as a #1 choice
They were very sensitive to our feelings when we had to let go of our precious furrbaby of 10 years. They offered information on different options. We chose private cremation. They had good options on urns and inexpensive packages. She is alive in this picture, but she was dying from liver failure.
I got a brand new puppy and she ended up getting sick before i even had a chance to find a vet. I called and the receptoon just seemed more concerned about not honoring the $20 off new patient exam than helping me get my puppy in. I learned everything i needed to know. ENJOY KEEPING YOUR $20
Dr. Harbold and the staff are so extremely friendly! They were able to put our dogs Whiskey and JJ at ease and handled them with care. The waits are never too long and the appointments are quick and easy. They were able to answer all sorts of questions and concerns I had with our dogs.
VCA Oak Hills is AMAZING! I am a first time pet mom and I could not feel more comfortable about the care they provide for my little kitten. Do not hesitate to go here. The staff is so friendly and attentive! It is obvious they care about every pet that walks in the door. We love them.
I was referred here by ACS. Super easy to set up an appointment, they offer curbside as well. My dog Adora had an upper respiratory infection but Dr.Mallory prescribed her some antibiotics and she was good as new. I highly recommend this hospital and their staff. They're awesome!
Been going to them for 4 yrs now and they are always friendly and on step. The staff are competent and seem to love their job and the animals that come through there. From the veterinarian to the front desk and all in between there is passion and diligence about what they do.
No sympathy after I called to cancel my appointment for next week because dog pass away. I understand it's a normal day for you guys, but you should consider how you talk to dog owners who just experienced a loss. I'm glad he wasn't alive to experience this heartless place.
Great place! When our kitten became ill suddenly overnight, the doctor and staff were very sensitive and helpful with the difficult decision we had to make. I was very touched when we received a sympathy card signed by everyone. I would recommend VCA Oak Hills to everyone.
The best service! They took great care of my puppy, Uggie Elvis, during his overnight stay. I received feedback after his procedure, and they sent me a couple of pics per my request. I appreciate their amazing customer service and love that they make us feel like family.
They were fine until I had to bring my 20+yo cat in for a bath & shave. They did a terrible job, her fur didn't even look like it had been fully rinsed --all clumpy & greasy looking. Their excuse was her age, but I've had the same thing done elsewhere with no issues .
Good experience, but seemed excessively expensive to me. I have no way to compare to other vets, though. Stitching a small wound here cost more than amputating a tail with 3 visits and an overnight stay in Honolulu two years ago. I understand inflation, but geez!
This place goes above and beyond! I took my baby Boots for a routine exam and rabies. They gave me so much info and many resources. Doctor was fantastic and I wish I got his name but the gentleman that works with her was so kind and informative. Great experience.
I was searching for a new vet for my dog, Sir Tank Wellington, and discovered this clinic. The DVMs and staff here are very professional, knowledgeable, welcoming and helpful. So this is our new vet, and I highly recommend them!! Thank you VCA Oak Hills! …
Wonderful caring Vets and staff who took their time informing me of my cat's problem as well as solutions. They took good care of my animal friend and helped saved his life. I am sincerely appreciative of this animal hospital and all who work here.
Used to be great but prices have gone up and services are not what they used to be. We got the "feral cat treatment" with our newest pet. They charged us over $500 to spay and vaccinate it, then tipped its ear without asking or warning us.
The team here has always given me a great experience for boarding my 6 year old lab mix. I get text updates and my recent visit they sent her home with a paw stamp tile and polaroid. I will continue to use this facility for my vet needs.
Such sweet employees. They seem to really care for my pup, & he is definitely a stubborn one. They are welcoming & encourage me to drop by with my dog anytime to get him comfortable with the facility with treats & to just walk around.
My dog has been a patient at this clinic for several years, and he and I have always been treated politely and in a professional manner. The staff seems to sincerely enjoy working with animals, and is so patient with my furry friend.
Love this place. My dog, Bindhy, gets scared with nail grinder noise but the staff had her so calm and relaxed and got her nails done in under 10 mins. Friendly staff, fast service. Would highly recommend this place to everyone.
First time at this location. Same friendliness as my last VCA. On time, politeness by all employees. Clean facility, small waiting area, food to purchase available. Dr. Harris very thorough, friendly, and professional.
Great staff, Dr. Shearheart is very kind and helped us through our dog's passing. Still going with our new dog and the staff loves her so it's always great going. Tuesday special is the way to go! Ask about it. …
They are awesome because they recommended I go to VCA Becker hospital which is 24 hours in case this place is closed and VCA Becker was extremely amazing thank you oak hills for recommending such a great place!!!!
This was a lovely vet experience. They worked with us to provide exactly what we needed for our pet, in a timely, efficient, and easy to understand manner. I truly felt like my pet was in the best hands possible.
They are an amazing staff who are not only friendly, but they really do care about my family and did more than expected to make sure that my puppy was taken care of. 10/10 will return and make this my home vet.
Awesome receptionist, great Dr. and technician. Dr. explained everything to me and the steps we were going to take with my pup. Even though they are further away from me, I will be taking my fur babies there.
I came to Oak Hills animals hospital, and coincidentally they were doing tours. I really enjoyed it and their manager was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I recommend giving this animal hospital a go!
Very professional went we brought our kitty he pooed all over the carrier they clean it gave fresh pads. Very careful let us know when give our kitty shots and clips his nails and explain life of kitty works
I’m glad I found VCA for my little pupper. They are always nice and kind to me and my dog. I feel their prices are very fair. I highly recommend if you are looking for a long term vet for your fur baby
They're a new girl, new to me, that's definitely doing it for me so yea 5 stars here 10 in my heart. Hahahah..but seriously she's cute AF. Oh yeah they work on animals too. Good they do good
Staff is so compassionate with the animals. Doctors take time to explain. Boarding is amazing with text updates and adding extra play time with photos to send home! Great experience!
Another great experience with the team here at OakHills. Thank you Dr. Jena Benavente and Techs Hayley Bartlett and Kris Hernandez for taking great care of my Sadie Grace
Great experience! Very clean and my vet tech, Emily, was super informative and was very patient and kind with my pup he didn’t even notice the pokes!! …
I was worried at first but the ladies at VCA took excellent care of my dog khan. Being part pitt part sharpei he is a handful. Thank You to the entire staff.
Impressed with the professional and welcoming atmosphere and cleanliness. They made my cat feel important and addressed his issues promptly and correctly.
Great group of gals up front! Always so nice and patient with our 80 pound bully! The boarding service is equally amazing, we broad with them every time!
We have been taking our dogs there for many years and they are always so nice and very friendly and the Docs are awesome we won't go anywhere else
Friendly staff, very knowledgeable veterinarian ate always willing to help. I really like em... both my pups are very healthy... :)
Took a litter of kittens to get checked by the vet and get their first vaccines, and all of the staff showed love to the kittens.
Awesome office! Everyone is always so friendly and helpful and they treat my baby like he’s family! He’s so excited to go visit!
Friendly staff...so helpful. Dr. Was amazing she gave My Reece such special attention and kindness..he loved it and so did I.
They had toys for my toddlers and made sure we got in a room right away. Two young kids and a dog is alot to wrangle.
Great service and helpful staff prices are not the cheapest though its worth it if your pet needs care.
Brought my 2 new ACS adoptions to get checked out. They are very thorough. Kind and professional
Friendly and thorough. My doggies have been patients for years. VCA Care Plan helps a lot!
Very good friendly staff straight forward they cut no corners on helping your fur babies
Very sweet from the from to back office! Very informative and especially caring!!!
Good service! The doctor and staff are very professional and informative.
