Valle Luna looks small from the street but apparently they have taken more and more space in the strip center over the years. (Ample parking by the way) the restaurant is full of small informal niches that give you a sense of privacy rather than being in a single room full of people. (It can get busy at the dinner hour) The atmosphere is cool and lighting is a relief from the hot summer sun. Valle Luna has a special daytime menu at reduced prices and also offers Daily specials: Margarita Mondays, Tuesday senior discounts, and so on. If you are light eaters and want to split a meal, they charge a buck for providing the second plate and do it for you from the kitchen rather than having you make a mess of it doing it for yourselves. As for what we ate, my guest and I ordered the House special Chimichanga. They provide a choice of what type of filler (we chose shredded beef). The Chimi is covered with a sauce, guacamole, and sour cream. The plate comes with a side if rice and refried beans (but they will let you have beans only if preferred). My guest and I found the food absolutely delicious and a nice generous portion. What impressed me was the "presentation" of the meal itself. It was picture perfect...every bit as pretty as any professional Mexican plate photo could be and served with pride from the kitchen. Since our first visit to Valle Luna (on West Bell) we have returned several times and always for the same meal. You might be curious why only 4 stars... First, we have not tried the east side location and second, It will take time to try all the other food choices at the rate we are going . Hope you enjoy this place as much as we do. :-) PS Ask for Elizabeth if she is on duty. A very pleasant server who can help you with all the selections and not rush you through the process.

As I walk in, the atmosphere has a positive vibe. The Host seats us at a clean booth. We order our drinks. I take one look at the menu, and I know exactly what I want. A Grilled Chicken Fundido. Chips and salsa were brought to our table. It was nice to be asked what kind of salsa we prefer. Most places just put whatever kind of salsa on the table they prefer. My boyfriend orders Enchaladas. After a short time our food arrives. I must say it was absolutely perfect. The flavors all compliment each other. Served hot and delicious!! I took a couple of pictures to show you our awesome dinner. We will be returning. Thank you, Valle Luna.

I recently visited Valle Luna's Bell location with a group of friends, hoping for a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, the service we received from our server, Jade, was exceptionally poor. From the moment we sat down, Jade rushed us and displayed overt rudeness towards our party of eight. Her demeanor was unwelcoming, offering cryptic responses to our inquiries and choosing to stand apart from our table, giving off the impression she wanted us to leave early. What made the experience even more perplexing was Jade's disclosure that she doesn't enjoy being around people and lacks friends. This made us wonder why she was in a customer-facing role in the first place, as it greatly impacted our meal. The uncomfortable atmosphere created by Jade's attitude overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable evening of sampling the menu's offerings together. It's disappointing when the service significantly detracts from what could have been a pleasant dining experience. Overall, I hope Valle Luna's management takes note of such instances to improve their customer service standards and ensure a more welcoming environment for all patrons.

When you first come into the restaurant the hallways that lead to the seating can be a bit narrow, but then it opens up into a cozy room with plenty of room to sit. There’s a lot to choose from on the menu, and it was hard to choose what I wanted to order because everything sounded amazing. I ended up choosing the grilled fish platter with a sprite as my drink. The food was delicious. The fish fell apart in my mouth, and the sauce they put on top was mouth-watering. They also have complimentary chips and salsa that they put out for guests. The chips come out freshly made, and they regularly refill them. If you’re wondering if this place has a decent kids menu, there’s quite a few options on it to choose from. Overall, there’s something here to please everyone, from the picky eater to the adventurous taste tester. The staff were also nice and checked in on us frequently. TLDR: the food is great, lots of menu options, great atmosphere, and the staff are amazing.

This was such a disappointing visit - we have always come here and had a great meal. Tonight, we were seated after a short wait, but between being sat at our table and receiving our food was a full hour. Then, after being advised to get the fundido, two members at our table ordered it with grilled chicken. Sadly, as can be seen in these pictures, they looked completely different. One was lathered in the jalepeno cream cheese and melted cheese on it, and the other looked white and crusty and the lettuce was brown. When the server was notified, she said she didn’t know why the kitchen did that. If it was made like this, it’s the kitchens fault but the server should not have brought it. I asked for a side of the cream cheese but it was extremely unappetizing served on its own - it looked like a clump of butter- and there was no other solutions offered. I didn’t ask for it to be remade since we’d already waited an hour.

We’ve been here many times over the years. My go to is usually the Pollo Fundido, but this time my wife and I each had the chicken enchiladas special with beans and rice. It was very good. They stuff the enchiladas with a ton of chicken and their beans and rice are always well seasoned. Our only complaint this time was waiting to order when we were seated and how long it took to get drinks. The food always comes out really quickly. Overall though, highly recommend for some of the best Mexican food in Phoenix.

If you go around the dinner rush, you may have to park far away. And people park in non designated parking spots making it difficult for larger vehicles to get around them.
The food? OMG! TO DIE FOR. SO YUMMY The service, meh. UNTIL... I became so frustrated waiting for our waiter to do a courtesy table check that I decided to go fetch my own drink refill from the bar. Let me tell you what. The bartender, as full as his bar was, immediately noticed me. Stopped what he was doing. Came right over and as courteously and respectfully he asked what he could do for me. Having been in the bar business, myself, I coildnt help but notice there were certain glances he took, nonchalantly. One being, where I was sitting And the next, looking for my waiter. He was quite quick about it Never skipped a beat. Let's just say... We're I still in the bar business, Damien would be working for me. Prompt Kind Respectful And very professional Kudos to Damian for making me feel number one, even though he didn't even know my husband and I were celebrating our 24th Anniversary. ❤️ .

I had heard this place was good but my meal was amazing. I actually went there because I saw they had chicken wings on the menu. So I ordered the bbq wings. They were huge. They had a really nice char cook to them, the BBQ sauce had a nice sweetness to it and they had plenty of sauce on there. Be aware those chicken wings are huge and we'll fill you. I-86 of them and took the rest home. I also ordered the Baja shrimp tacos with beans and rice. The flour tortillas were very fresh you can taste it they were just made probably minutes before eating them. Also the chips and salsa or just as great as everything else. I will be back soon. I like the fact that they had several rooms. Had made for a quieter dining experience. The gentleman that serve me was very helpful in making suggestions he was great.

I've been to this location a few times over the years, however in recent months I've frequented this location twice. I was fortunate to attend the Cinco De Mayo party at this location this year - although it was very busy and hectic at the restaurant on this particular day. They have great seating in the cantina and I love the overall vibe of this location. I highly recommend checking out their happy hour specials; the dishes I loved from that menu were the mini bean burros (I chose guacamole and jalapeno cream cheese as my dips), and their Mexican pizza is to die for as well! Service is always good here, so I can't complain there. Apparently this is the original Valle Luna location, so that was interesting to learn. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for good authentic Mexican food

This place is one we go back to time and time again. Their salsa is made fresh in-house every day and tastes so good we have to stop and remind ourselves that we have food coming! They have the medium that is nice and chunky, and a smooth hot sauce. The ambience is very nice and there are a lot of little details sprinkled around the different rooms. The one we were in was a bit crowded but still comfortable. The wait to get a table is usually a bit longer here, but is definitely worth it. Our server, Bert, was very friendly. Our buser, Nick -had amazing customer service and we found out he was brand new! The only negative, was that the side of beans for the fajitas were lukewarm. When we asked, they said this is “how they are because they bake them.” I don’t remember this being a problem in the past, so I think it was just a fluke. We still would definitely recommend this place.
I can say the food was good but i will say that this place is supposed to serve Authentic Mexican Dishes but all the employers were not Mexican except two people and were all non Hispanic and in no way am i rascist or prejudice but i never been to a Authentic Mexican Restaurant that serves Mexican food made by white people. And the server in the bar area addressed my company and then didnt ask me what i wanted and he walked off and i told him "Hey arent you gonna ask me what i want or do i not matter? Never mind...i want another server" and he was trying to act like it was a mistake but hows that when he saw me sitting there too. Not very professional and highly disrespectful and too bad for him cuz he lost a $20 tip. The food was good but i felt it wasnt authentic as i didnt see any Mexicans working.

Myself and my family went there the day before I went into the hospital to get it to go mail to have our last meal together before I went in. They messed up every one of our meals except for one. We live way across town so we couldn't go back for them to correct it. The manager said it was too late to cancel the charges but they would send me out some comp points or like a gift certificate. I spent $78 almost $79 and then dollar tip. Four of our meals were completely unedible due to stuff that was either not supposed to be there or missing. And I was in 15 dollars in Valle Luna bucks. I have always loved this restaurant it's a real shame that because of this one experience and because of one person not thinking things through that me and my family will never return.

By far the best Mexican food restaurant I've been to in the 34 years I've lived in Phoenix AZ. The atmosphere Awesome very welcoming the employees are helpful and kind willing to answer any question you have. You can go in and sit directly in the bar area or you can wait for a table in the dining Room, if your in a hurry you can order food to go and pick it up curbside if you need to. If I had to recommend something to eat it would most definitely be the Sizzling fajitas, shrimp and chicken or just one of them. The fundido is a Pretty tasty dish If I don't say so myself. I get the number 5 Taco enchiladas anf tostada rice and beans. There's always a bowl of hot tortilla chips with awesome salsa and or hot sauce. You got locations on 33rd Avenue and bell and Cave Creek road and Greenway Parkway. Hope to See you there ✌
The food was not good at all. The server was rarely around, the salsa had a completely canned taste, if you can call it taste. It was just not good. We tried the shredded tacos, the cheese enchiladas and the fajitas. The fajitas had no seasoning or flavor, as a not good fajita maker myself, I think mine are better the enchilada tortillas were rough to cut into, chewy and just yuck. The only ok thing was the shredded taco. It wasn't horrendous, that's as good a compliment as I can give for it. I've been to this location, long ago, and stopped going because of the quality. I see why I did. I went to the other location on Cave Creek recently and it wasn't bad at all.

I've been here a few times for work lunches now, and I've been happy with the service and the food each time. I've tried quite a few things from their lunch menu, but I keep coming back to their tamales! ✨ They are perfect each time, and I love that there are so many options for lunch. Their staff can be a little eccentric, but we love that because we are too! They are so polite and so fun to talk with. Also, the bathrooms are always clean, which is a nice bonus!

I was really disappointed for the third time going there giving it many chances. My Mexican pizza came out BURNT ! I asked if I could get another one and I believe I got the same one but with more cheese and it was literally Cold..I was hungry and I ate it..I was there last night in bar area at 5:00. Very disappointed. Gave them three tries..every time I went was disappointed. Got my favorite the Mexican pizza.

This place has been highly recommended so i had high expectations. They failed in every way possible. From food to service. Steak over cooked, rice was hard, beans burnt. The amount of attitude when addressing my concerns was uncalled for. If you like over cooked & bland flavorless food then have at it. I dont recommend this place for mexican food.

MEXICAN RESTAURANT (not hotel lol) This place is always busy (ie popular) but I've never had to wait to be seated, service is always quick, and food is super fresh. Full service menu at the bar. Some tables with service outside (for smokers, shh). Plenty of tables inside, and booths and high tops and Lots of TVs! plus juke box. Everything on menu is great, I love their pork green chili yum! Margarita and other drink specials often. Salsa (mild, chunky) is SO good, there's Hot too of course, and they keep the Chips 'n Salsa flowing! Servers friendly and accommodating. Super casual. Enjoy!

Look. This isn't traditional REAL Mexican food. It's you typical tex mex style. Drinks are probably the best part. Especially the cost. I had enchiladas and didn't taste like cardboard. The servings were huge. And unlimited chips and salsa which is always a perk. The place is like a labyrinth of chairs and tables and hallways. It's like the Mexican Willy Wonka factory. But with food and alcohol. This place has been here for a very long time and caters to the area. Drink 100% Food quality is at a 70%

My relatives in Phoenix swear by this place, but for me, not so much. I more than most people enjoy spicy food, but this was ridiculous! The steak was tough and grizzly and the refried beans were just mediocre, as if from a can. My meal was missing the flour tortillas, which the manager offered us a 15% discount. All being said, this meal was just so-so. Sorry El Mirage not worth the pricey check.

I/ We usually eat in the Cantina ( we tend to eat later) but haven't been coming here lately because the last few times the servers have been awful. They spend more time sitting down and talking with each other then giving good service. I know the Cantina is a bit of a more relaxed atmosphere, but please, can you all ACT like you care about your Customers. We would try sitting in the dining rooms but they start rushing us out before we're finished eating. Don't know when we'll try it again.

We tried this establishment due to a recommendation. This Mexican restaurant is the best I have experienced in a long time. Our waiter Daniel I. was attentive and professional. The food we ordered was piping hot and very tasty. Everyone in our party ordered different entrees and nobody complained. The chips and salsa was outstanding and fresh. The environment was authentic. Very quality food and the quantity was definitely more than I expected. Definitely will be a repeat customer. Awesome!!!!!
This place never disappoints. The food is always good (this time had the shredded beef chimi) huge portions and friendly wait staff. This was my first time on the restaurant side I usually sit on the bar side. But both have same friendly staff. My fam and I will definitely be going back here.

First time there in years. We live on the far west side. Arrived around 5 on a Friday. The place was very busy with a 30 minute wait for a table on the restaurant side. We walked over to the cantina side and 2 people were getting up from the bar. The bartender Damion greeted us and was very efficient. Our food arrived promptly and was delicious. Wife had a chicken burro with green sauce. I had the sonoran steak. Very tender and delicious.
Been going here for over 25 years. Called and tried to reserve a table for a birthday party and was told they are too busy to take reservations. Went in to check on wait time and many tables were reserved. I was told there are No reservations allowed at all due to the Anniversary. Hmmm. A lot has changed. Also another person in our party tried to reserve a table same day and was told the same thing. Disappointed.

Always one of the best in Phoenix. I had the chance to order the fahitas (beef & chicken). It was amazing and way way too much for me to eat. Not that I did not try.... Arrived hot but not "sizzling" and was very well prepared. The server Taylor was fast and efficient and handled our requests with a ready smile and did a fantastic job with our 2 diners with hearing challenges. Amazing job for sure.
Loved Valle Luna since the 90’s. Sadly, food has been getting to be hit or miss for awhile now. Can’t even get a simple sopapilla right anymore! But more often than not the service is crap… can’t get refills, orders messed up(food &drink), can’t even get the tab.

Ordered a to go order when I came to pick it up was told she couldn’t take a hundred was told to walk to Safeway and break it then come purchase my food. They didn’t tell me my bill was counterfeit or that they checked it. Had several others in my wallet that I would have gladly given her.. horrible customer service. The rude reply to go to Safeway caused me to take my service else where
This place is great, food, service, everything is A-One. It is always busy but well worth the wait for your food. You can't go wrong with this place.

I ordered the lunch size beef enchiladas with beans and rice to take out. The order was in my hands in a very short time. The enchiladas were great as they should be seeing how the restaurant " chain" started 40 years ago at the original location on Bell rd. The staff was very friendly and efficient.

This is a really good restaurant to happy hour prices and specials are great. The Ambiance is really nice and the staff is super friendly. The food is okay it's not the best Mexican food but it is well worth the price. During the happy hour time it can get really crowded so be sure to arrive early in order to secure a table. I would recommend this place for groups.
The fajitas were tough and mostly peppers and onions, very little beef. The flautas were mushy, like it had been over prepared. It had a good flavor, just a texture thing.

Valle Luna is a great Mexican restaurant, the inside has a cozy feeling. Went on a Monday night and they had $1 Margaritas, they have special every night. I think the menu should a bit more simple. The food was very good and I will definitely return.

Spent $110 for wifes’ birthday celebration. Used to come to this location years ago. What an eye opener..Food was not good. Way too spicy! For me to say that is saying something because I was raised in San Diego and have eaten Mexican food my whole life! Sad but I’ll stick to Manuel’s

Ummm. Over 4k reviews with a rating of 4.5 stars in a state known for awesome Mexican food?!?! All of you guys giving accolades to this place must not know what good Mexican food is. Salsa tasted canned. And food was greasy. Sorry guys, but this place was gross. Two stars for the ambiance. Otherwise it would’ve been one.
Our server was a little busy at first. After she came to our table a service was spot on. Drinks came out quickly. Food came out quickly. The food was hot.

This is one of our favorite Mexican places! The food is delicious and the happy hour is great. Plan ahead as the wait can be long. The only reason for the dropped star is it seems like the waiters and waitresses are stretched a bit thin during rush times and we don’t usually get refills or checked on.
This place has the smallest portions I've ever received from a Mexican Restaurant. Only 4 stars for that reason. The food is amazing. I was surprised how tasty everything was. Up side.. you will have space for dessert!

Pepsi? Why??? Please just get coke and be normal. Cant come back here. Not sure how the food is yet. Still upset about them only having pepsi. Update: this pizza is insane! Chicken with jalapeno cream cheese with more jalapenos!! Holy moly this is amazing. They lose 1 star for not having coke.
Been going here for over 30 years and the food thankfully is still delicious. The only complaint I have is the place needs an update, they’ve made some changes but we believe it could use a major makeover. It’s very dark and gloomy inside.

Can’t go wrong with Valle Luna. Their chimichanga is always a hit. Tender, moist meat that was slowly cooked, wrapped in a tortilla and fried. The star of the dish is the Sonoran chimi sauce it’s topped with though

Been coming here for 30 years! Still the same excellent taste, portions, atmosphere and service. Always the best, every time. No senior discount, but the 'Luna has Tuesday night senior specials, basically 2-for-1, starting at 300 pm! Sports bar is awesome too!

This place has a wonderful vibe. I had the Spinach Enchilada with shredded chicken and it was delicious! The salsa was so good, I bought a pint to bring home. Wait staff was very attentive but not intrusive. Overall, a very lovely evening.

Bean Burrito a la carte with green sauce. My 13yr old loved it! The pollo fundido was perfectly cooked. The green chile plate was just alright. It didn't taste or look like green chile. The rice and beans were fantastic.

It's a Mexican food restaurant, not a hotel. Food was good. I had the wings & sliders since most of the other options would have triggered my food allergies. Medium wings were just the right hot.
