Really disappointed with the customer service received today. Despite making all reasonable and possible effort related to my booking (I called and spoke to the salon ensuring they could meet my needs, made my appointment weeks in advance, didn’t specify any particular hairdresser and confirmed my appointment via auto sms), I was called mid morning the day of my appointment to ask if I was able to come in earlier than 4:30 due to other client cancellations. After letting them know with the short notice I could only maybe be 30mins earlier, I was offered 2 other evenings to which I declined. I assumed the outcome would be that my original appointment would stand, but was then told that the only hairdresser available was going to go home early so noone would be able to complete my booking. At this point I suggested my only option was to cancel and go elsewhere to which they happily accepted. As noted in my booking, this was a significant haircut for me (to donate my hair via The Ponytail Project) and I am so disappointed that it wasn’t fulfilled. The irony that the salon clearly understands the frustration of people cancelling, to only cancel on others with little hesitation is not lost on me. As a new client, I am saddened that I cannot speak to the skill of the work, only the lacking customer service, particularly in a saturated market of Union road.

I have been coming to Vanity Hair and Beauty Salon for all my haircut & colours 4+ yrs. They have always been great at giving me the colour and cuts I want, as well as great styling at the end. They have given me good product and hair care advise to help keep my hair at its best through hormonal changes such as pregnancy, post-pregnancy/breastfeeding, as well as colour changes from blonde to brown and then back again. My hair is long and blonde and very healthy at the moment. I’m very happy with the service they provide a loving my hair more than ever at the moment after all these changes/challenges!

I went a saw Alex for a consultation and then followed up with him for a cut and colour. Best decision I've made in a long time! My hair looks the best it has in ages. Alex really listened to my concerns, he wanted me to get the most out of my appointment and was talking about making sure it lasted so I didn't have to go in for touch ups too often. He was so friendly and chatty I felt like I was catching up with a friend! All my friends and family have commented on how great my hair looks. I have definitely found my go to place. Will be recommending to everyone I know.

Amazing salon. I have been coming here for over 1 year and am very happy with the way Brooke colours and cuts my hair. My hair always looks in tip top shape when I leave. I also take my young daughter here to get her hair cut. Her hair was incredibly tangled with heaps of knots in it, impossible to detangle. Maryam and Brooke were really patient and managed to detangle all her hair and Maryam gave her a beautiful haircut afterwards. No tears and a very happy girl.

I got my hair highlighted and toned by Tiana at the Ascot Vale location. She did a great job! She asked several questions to ensure she understood what I wanted, explained what methods she was going to use and went above and beyond in doing my hair exactly as I wanted. I'm very pleased with the result. Thank you Tiana!

Maryam did an amazing job with my hair. This was the first time that my hair felt so soft and no frizzy bits that always seem to be there even after a dry, straighten and frizz reducing cream. She spent quite some time understanding my hair and nailed it!

My first hair cut in Melbourne, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Alex did a wonderful job, very attentive and made me feel better about my hair and lovely person to have a chat. Definitely going back and would recommend it to everyone.

Fab hair salon. Love Ryan doing my hair! He is onto the trends and it always turns out great. All the staff are great Relatively easy to get an appointment or move your booking without needing to wait another 8 weeks. What’s not to love??

I don’t recommend this salon to any when . It’s way to expensive . They don’t do the Color which you want . Also the staff over there was so rude with me . Color fades after one month only . Very bad service .
