Initially we took my brother’s dog to a well known vet within the brackenfell area, as he was showing pain in his rear area and couldn’t relieve himself. The vet has multiple branches within the northern suburbs so we were shocked when the young vet who just stepped out of vet school couldn’t tell us if the object on the scan was a kidney stone or a nipple! My brothers dog was sent home and died agonisingly within 3 days. When my beloved German shepherd started showing slightly similar symptoms a year later, we took him to no less than 3 vets within the northern suburbs. All of whom provided a different and incorrect diagnosis. During this process the differing vets prescribed our beautiful boy with treatment ranging from sterilisation to medication. His condition then began to deteriorate rapidly. My wife, by chance eventually found Dr. Taitz at vetcare animal hospital and we arranged to bring him in for a 4th/5th opinion. Within the first 5 minutes Dr. Taitz had already summed up his suspicions but still ran a variety of tests to confirm them. All of this within an hour of bringing our boy in. Dr Taitz was able to confirm what the original problem was that had been missed by everybody else. Unfortunately, he was able to confirm that the reason for the new deterioration was due to the meds that we had been prescribed. His kidneys were destroyed by the severe medication prescribed. We tried to save him, but 2 days later our boy was urinating blood and struggling to breathe.I asked Dr Taitz if we could arrange to meet to euthanise. It was a Sunday and the Dr didn’t hesitate to help us. We’re still trying to get over the loss of our beautiful boy, he was too young to go and we weren’t ready. But Vetcare animal hospital were incredible and reminded us that some vets are humans too. I am certain that had we known about Dr. Taitz in the beginning, both my beautiful Cody and my brother’s dog Dusty might have been here with us today.

The vet wanted me to do so many test before he would even help my dog. Claiming that he has my dogs best interest at heart but all he could say to me was I need to do all these tests before I can help your dog in excess of over 4000 rand. I mean if you really cared for my animal you would be able to give some sort of medicine without over charging me. When I clearly stated that I don't have the money. So I agreed to x rays which were over 2000 rand and that was my budget asking the vet what medicine can I get for her now and he said sorry I still can't give her any medication till I do blood tests. And I stated to him a had a small budget to help out my dog and he let me leave his clinic with no help for my dog and just x rays. I will never recommend this vet. Never in my life have I ever had such a bad experience from a veterinarian before.

Exceptionally rude. I called on a Sunday morning (which, by the way, they list as open from 10am on Google) to try secure some canned food for my cat with heart failure in ICU and the man who answered was possibly the rudest, most impatient human I've dealt with. I was told "I'm doing you a favour" while calling for an animal emergency just because I couldn't collect the food immediately as we were on our way to visit my ill cat... Thankfully, TAH helped us in the end with all our needs. But I would also like to note that every other vet practice I called on that Sunday morning was kind and lovely - so thankfully this was a once-off experience of rudeness and heartlessness in the vet community. I am really glad I don't have to ever deal with this practice again!

Dr Le Roux and his staff are friendly and very professional. They always help the best they can. He even treated our Dobberman for free after another dog bit her in the park we walk her in , on her side. Even when our 16yr old cat was ill and on his last. He told us the truth and did not drag Treatment out to Milk us for money like another vet did, who shall remain nameless charging us R10 000 ,00 even though they knew they don't have kidney Treatment for cats in South Africa. They even Superfluid the feeding tube in his nose cause they knew he would not survive so there was no need to tape the tube to his face and head. Shocking. I am still shocked at how this Other Vet treated our 5 yr old cat and charged us a fortune. Brackenfell Vet is excellent.

When I phoned to find out if I could bring my puppy for her initial set of injections, I was pleasantly surprised when the lady said they were open until 6:30pm. This meant I did not have to take time off work or try to rush during my lunch hour to see the vet. Moreover, I was greeted by very friendly people when I visited, the doc was genuinely concerned and interested in the welfare of my dog. By the time it came to pay I was again pleasantly surprised to find that the price was more than fair. I recommend this animal clinic for all people who love their animals.

The Vet diagnosed our dog positive with Cat flu and suggested we put her down due to her age, she is still a puppy. For the amount we had to pay for just seeing and a single swab test we expected better. The same day we went for a second opinion at the SPCA and possible treatment as this vet wanted a lot of money for treatment prior to starting. The same test was done at the SPCA 2 hours appart and came back negative. The dog only had a stomach flu. After a single injection at the SPCA and medication for a few days she is perfectly healthy again.

The Vet is always friendly. There is after care and surgery available here, both of which we have had to use. There is a wide selectionbof dog foods, and speciality foods. They also have a loyalty programme and a medical plan/ insurance for pets availabe there. The best thing lately is a super consentrated cleajing solution that they have for sale, which helps a lot during the Covid pandemic. Great place with good staff and the service has been this way for years.

Took my Dad’s Maltese Poodle to Dr Taitz with a skin irritation she gets from time to time. Found the Dr very strange with his diagnosis as it is a slight rash and I simply want the dog to stop biting and scratching. Ended up with an injection for the dog and a sample bag of Hills Hypoallergenic that I was told he would give me to try. Was forced to pay a bill of R1650!!!! How can 10minutes at a vet justify such an exorbitant bill? Won’t be going back there!!!!

We received such great service from this practice and the team. The Vetenarian is incredibly patient, explained everthing to us well, assisted us on short norice and took the time to assess our Krummel thoroughly. No long waiting cues. Didn't have to wait to be attended to after an appointment was scheduled. All round excellent service, care and products. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone that treats their pets like their kids.

We woke up one morning to a very sick doggie. Being new in the area, we took her to the nearest vet. Turned out she had a very severe case of tick bite fever. The vet there was amazing, he took care of her as if she was one of her his own dogs. Kept referring to her as his patient. We expected her to stay there for a minimum of two nights, but got her home the very next afternoon. She has gone back to her happy self again.

Not happy with their service at all always have an issue to get certain medicine from them always have a story as to why they don't have but in the meantime the other vets around them are fully stock in generic versions as well as the actual product. Money making schemes and also shout at their clients. Terrible terrible service never in my life have I seen such terrible service ever. Don't even waste your time there.

Took my boxer dog there today. Dr.Taitz was all over the show. Very friendly, but very all over. We took her for a check up and a bump on her head. Was very ruff with her and she wanted to bite. Very expensive and never asked us about anything, just ran up a bill. Bill came to R4200.00 later. Did not wanted to make a scene in front of other people, but will surely go back tomorrow to go an see him.

Dr Taitz is the only Vet that we trust with our fur kids. After one visit with our Boston Terrier, he correctly diagnosed her and gave her treatment that worked instead of only treating her symptoms as the other vets did on numerous occasions. We've been going to Dr Taitz for the past 3 years and drive quite a distance to him but its definitely worth it.

Always had great service from Dr Tait. I do feel however that his charges have become astronomical. Had to take my puppy in for a stomach infection, R3000 later I walked out of there. I was not allowed to open an account. The consultation alone was R900. Three injections and a few more sundries... I am sorry to say but I will not go back there again ☹️

Both my dogs ended in a worse state after treatment here. My pitbull was taken off her shampoo and monthly product and put on his shampoo and the treatment cost us R2000 and destroyed her paws and skin. TAH helped us to get it right in 4 days again and only cost R700. Very expensive and old school and only promotes his own products.

Food was excellent. I had the half chicken, sweet and spicy flavor and my friend had the ribs. Both really good. Sides are delicious too. Only gripe I had was the amount of time it took to get our bill. It also took quite a while to get our food once we ordered, but the people around us were entertaining so we didn't mind too much.

Dr Taitz definitely knows what he is doing! He has finally figured out what causes my dog's ear problems which many vets did not! He is so friendly and I experienced no problems with his staff. He is always on time with his appointments and his follow ups are quick and on point.

Poor service and very expensive. Left my dog in a shocking state. I will NEVER put my foot in that place again. Very manipulative and felt uneasy about the services they offered. Had to take my dog to another facility who gave excellent care and for next to nothing.
