I love this vet. They are so kind to my dog and every time I visit them on an as needed basis or for my dog's annual appointment, I can tell they truly care about my dog and they answer all the questions I have. However, they are the biggest pain and they are extremely inconvenient when it comes to prescriptions (heart worm medication, flea and tick, etc.). They refuse to authorize a prescription at my pharmacy by any method other than providing a written prescription and then requiring that I mail it in. The main reason they make it difficult is because I don’t use any medications that they supply/prefer. So, they want to make filling a prescription elsewhere as difficult as possible. That is ridiculous. It is the 21st century. You can pick up the phone and call the pharmacy to authorize a prescription. Only after I get frustrated with them will they then figure out another way to authorize the prescription (via phone, email, or fax). This has happened a few times since I have taken my dog here and each time, I expect they will make it easier, but every time they make a huge deal about this. Just do this the first time and provide some decent customer service. I will be looking for a new vet who doesn’t care that I don’t use their “pharmacy of choice” but instead find a vet who only cares about my dog getting the prescriptions he needs as quickly as possible.

If I ever move out of Dallas, I will absolutely drive just to have my pup see Dr. Huang. She’s AMAZING, and the entire staff is equally as incredible. When I first brought my rescue puppy for his visit in August, I was a hot mess because I had to wait in the car (Covid procedures). But I was able to talk to Dr. Huang on the phone the entire time - she was patient, answered every question, and my puppy was super happy the entire time. I will never take my fur baby anywhere else - I’ve recommended Vickery Place to several of my friends, and they all agree with me!! Edit/Update on 8/16/21 - Dr. Huang has moved to a different state, which we are super sad about ... but Dr. Kores is just as fabulous!! This was my first time to go into the vet office (covid protocol) with my pup, and I was so surprised at how nervous he gets!! He's super friendly and spunky, but was acting a fool inside, LOL! However, Dr. Kores was VERY patient with RIco ... she sat down on the ground next to him, let him sniff her stethoscope ... all things that I appreciate for my little baby boy! Mona is our FAVORITE vet tech, and she's so sweet to Rico! We also had Sierra this time, and she was wonderful, too. Shelley at the front desk is real MVP - she will email anything I ask for, within minutes! You really can't go wrong at this practice with any of the stuff - they're all amazing!

Wow. Dr. Huang and the whole Vickery staff are absolutely amazing... After finding my cat had been severely hurt, I brought her to Vickery Animal Hospital. Immediately, Dr. Huang gave her an exam, knew what had happened, and took her in the back for x-rays. Shortly after, the doc came back and said my girl had fractured the right side of her jaw pretty badly. She then told us the steps that needed to be taken to get it fixed, what the entire process entailed, and what to expect during and after the surgery. My girls surgery was scheduled the day I had to leave the country. After telling the doctor of my travel plans, she assured me she would take great care of her and keep me updated every step of the way. She called me, sent me emails, and kept me in the loop during the whole process. A few days after her surgery, I came home to a happy and healthy cat. Never would have expected a situation like this to have gone as good as it did. Will never take my animals anywhere else.

VERY, VERY PRICEY. AT LEAST double the cost of other vet offices in the Dallas area with the same ratings. Now that the warning is out of the way, it's a great office although our favorite vet -- Dr. Wendy Derickson -- retired on Jan 1, 2022. If you're looking for an office that will take care of your pet, this is the place to go (although, again, Dr. Derickson was the most thorough). But be warned, this place is expensive. More than double our old vet, but if you have the money for this level of care, it's a worthwhile investment. Just stay on top of what's going on and ask lots of questions (ask the vet -- the techs are awesome but the other vets there fly in and out of the room like they're running for their lives). Due to their extremely high rate and Dr. Derickson retiring, we've found a new vet.

Took my puppy in since he had/might have swallowed an empty object. I did mention to the front desk person that it was a zig zag plastic object. Dr. Huang was nice enough to advice me over the phone and after conversation she said that If I could come in immediately, she would induce vomiting. After heading in right after, my puppy was taken in for an Xray and Dr. Huang said she didn't find any metal object. Im still not clear why this was done. And why was anyone trying to find a metal object. And even after visiting, I got the same advice I got over phone. Why was I asked to come in then? This is terrible and if you have an emergency, recommend not going here. If you do, please question everything thats being done, before its too late and you are charged really high for it.

Where do we begin? Let me start by saying that Dr. Huang is truly an angel- but beyond that, her professionalism combined with her empathy and bedside manner is what elevates skill and trade, becoming true craft. I highly recommend this practice. My Cheeto crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the arms of my husband and I in the care of Dr Huang. After she opened up my boy to see what could be done, the prognosis wasn't good for even the short-term, and she told us that with the utmost care and sympathy. She *still* gave us the option for trying to save his life, but we couldn't allow him to suffer any more. Thank you for your help, Dr. We would love to bring our other baby to you- as a healthy boy- for our veterinary needs. ❤-Amanda & Javier

The staff at Vickery Place have taken wonderful care of our dog over the past year-plus. Not only are they kind and very clearly love all the animals that come in to see them, but they are extremely responsive, thorough and professional. Just the other week, my dog got into some mini-chocolates (hello holiday season) and ate 10 wrappers. I immediately called Vickery and they were able to get me in right away & induce vomiting to make sure that our pup left ~45 minutes later completely fine. On a personal level, they were also very compassionate to me when I felt like a bad dog-mom from the chocolate incident. I would highly recommend them to any fellow animal-lover as a fantastic vet clinic.

I highly recommend Vickery Place Animal Hospital. I am new to the area and had taken my dachshund in previously for a routine annual exam. Dr. Wendy Dearixon provided excellent care. Last week my baby ruptured a disc and was in excruciating pain. We returned to the clinic and Dr. Dearixon admitted us immediately, examined my dog and very quickly sent us to a surgeon. She took the time to patiently explain everything to me but urged me to go quickly to the surgery center. I appreciate her quick action and the fact that she truly cared about my dog's life and well being. If you want a very knowledgable vet who cares, you should go to Vickery Place and ask for Dr. Dearixon.

I'm a new client who was referred to Vickery and who called early in the morning to get my cat checked out. It was the 1st day of Vickery using the app implemented for COVID-19. Having come from an exceptional hospital previously I thought that it would be hard to get such good service - but I was wrong. From the 1st phone call I was warmly greeted and I had no doubt that I and my Pudda was in good hands. The curbside appointment was slick and my cat was in/out very quickly. The app itself was easy to navigate and log in to and it's comforting to speak to the Vet or an assistant and talk then through any issues that come up. Thank you for taking car of us!

We love Vickery Place animal Hospital!!! We’ve been taking our corgi and our very anxious Shepard mix Rescue here for a while now and they always receive the absolute best care. The staff love on them well and handle them so graciously. Dr. Huang is a dream vet - attentive, informative, affirmative, and clearly so passionate about dogs. Our corgi is back to great health because of her guidance and suggested treatment plan. Our dogs are our only children and they mean the world to us. VPAH is our vet for as long as we can go to them! We are new to Vickery Place Animal hospital and recently took our senior Sheltie to see Dr. Martin for an eye mass removal and a dental cleaning. Dr. Martin and the staff at Vickery Place were extremely thorough and thoughtful during the care of our Sheltie. Dr. Martin was very responsive with updates and addressed issues our previous vet had missed. With only two visits in, we are very impressed with the professionalism, sense of urgency and caring nature of the staff at Vickery Place Animal Hospital. We will definitely continue as patients and plan to bring both of our Shelties here for care!

Our fam loves this place! My wife’s been bringing our pup here since before I knew her & always raved about Dr. Martin & the excellent vet techs working alongside him. Today we brought our 9 year old bunny, Gus, to Dr. Martin for a routine check-up. The staff was amazing with what is considered an “exotic animal”. They were knowledgeable, made Gus comfortable, & appreciated the way we’ve been loving him & taking care of him. Appointments are always fairly priced, efficient, & a pleasant experience. I know there are some great vets in Dallas but I truly think this place is the best of them all.

I've been a client of VPAH for 14 years. Dr. Dearixon and her team are extremely competent, caring and compassionate individuals. They've cared for my cats and dogs (and even a box turte) for their entire life span. My latest is a furry friend, adopted from the street. He is anxious; however loves the VPAH team. He was just neutered and had his teeth cleaned; he loves each of the team. Dr. D and the team communicated with me through the surgery day. My pup and I have come here for a year. Every trip has been immaculately well organized, even with all the 2020 chaos. Everyone I have interacted with - front desk, nurse, and the doc - all were very friendly. My dog is still a pup, and so can be a rambunctious little terror, but they all loved him and handled him as such. They have always shown us the utmost care, have done an excellent job of explaining every point of the check up, answering all questions I have had, and loving on my little buddy. All told, this is a fantastic vet and a credit to the neighborhood.

I'm new to the area and was looking for an exotic vet for my ferrets. Unfortunately before I found a vet, one of my ferrets became very ill. I contacted Vickery and they squeezed me in that day. All of the staff were very personable. Dr Dearixon was extremely thorough in her examination of Lexi, while being sympathetic to the situation. She had Lexi back on track by the next day. I was also very appreciative of the fact that I did not walk out of the office broke! Their prices are very reasonable. Thank you so much for your efforts and promptness!

I welcomed home a new puppy 3 weeks ago after not having a dog in my home for many years. Dr. Huang and the staff at Vickery Place have been courteous and professional. Despite the challenges the pandemic has created, I feel like my puppy gets the care she needs and I am treated with care and respect as well. The use of an app for video conference and chat with Dr. Huang is great! This makes the experience feel more personal. Dr. Huang is quick to respond and patient with my many questions! I can't recommend this vet group highly enough… The office staff, the vets ~ they've all been fantastic. We've recently been frequent visitors: our dog Cooper had horrible arthritis, and we were trying multiple meds and treatments to ease his pain. Throughout each visit, everyone was supportive of us, and most importantly, of Cooper. He knew he had friends at Vickery Place, and despite his pain, his tail would start thumping as soon as I headed off 75 to Henderson. THANK YOU for all you did to help.

Super kind staff. My poor kitty was not feeling anything outside of our home. Doctors and nurses were incredibly kind and understanding. They did their absolute best to walk me through everything about the procedures, medical factors and future needs of my cat-son. Put me completely at ease to know that my fur child will be in great hands. Will be going with them from now on and highly recommend them to anyone who knows your pets are more than just furry buddies.

VPAH is the only place I trust with my pug. They are super helpful and reasonable. We go here for her well checks and vaccinations and she was spayed here. Just recently she was bit by another dog and needed an emergency visit to get stitched up. They took her in right away and kept me updated on how she was doing. I’ve seen Dr. White and Dr. Martin and they’re both very nice and don’t push extra unnecessary testing and things. Would definitely recommend!

This is a wonderful veterinary practice! Everyone from the front desk, technicians and veterinarians were excellent! This practice has a warm fuzzy feeling to it. Wonderful vets and staff. I know I can trust them to do the best thing for my pets and not push expensive options that aren't needed. Edit: They are willing to work with you to get your pet taken care of as well. Even on a very busy day for them they managed to find a spot to see Dante when he was having a reaction to ant bites. Same thing when Soña had an abscess burst or when Sophie kept vomiting. These people truly care about every single pet.

I couldn’t be happier with this place. My pug all off a sudden developed breathing issues and i called Vickery place for help. They were very concerned and understanding and were able to see her Immediately. They helped me during this frightening moment. I have been taking my pets to Vickery Place Animal Hospital for 10 years now. The staff is always courteous and helpful and the doctors have been great with medical issues my two cats have had over the years. They always provide thorough information on any medical concerns they identify and I don't feel that they push to do unnecessary tests or procedures. Finally, I always get a super quick response to phone calls and refill requests.

They went above and beyond to help my chocolate lab, Bella. I called them for a last minute emergency appointment because my dog was bitten by another dog. They squeezed me in within 30 minutes and saw Bella right when I arrived. They were patient and calm around my pup who was terrified. Vickery Place has been taking care of my senior citizen poodle Verdelle for years now and we couldn't be happier. I was able to obtain a last minute appointment After calling several other places this place was the only one who was able to put me on their calendar for the same day. I arrived and everything was very organized and very professional customer service was really nice. The veterinarian was very understanding and patient and gave me an estimate price and options. I will definitely be returning back again for any future pet needs.

Last week I took my newly-adopted cat in to get established and was pleased by the professional & caring staff. They did a great job listening to all I had to say, examined my cat gently & thoroughly and gave me helpful information. Dr. Huang and the other staff members we encountered definitely seemed interested in doing a good job taking care of my cat. The facility feels like a friendly neighborhood office when you go in.

I went to Vickery Place for a few years ago when I was first living in Dallas and they did a tremendous job. Even after moving away and coming back after two and a half years, we still received the same quality treatment. From their front desk staff, techs, to doctors, they've always been gentle to my dog, even if he complains! My dog and I are very happy patients and have found a quality vet nearby. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice - and especially Dr. Huang. We have an older dog (14 years) that now requires several meds and recently underwent major surgery. Her attention to detail for his care was remarkable. She called exactly when she said she would, offered her candid assessment (which is not heroic but grounded in empathy and expertise) and was very compassionate. Highly recommend.

I have several friends and family I've referred to Vickery Place and they love it too! The employees and doctors treat you like family, which I would expect from the people caring for our furry family members. Great listeners, excellent care and the expertise you want and need in healthy and difficult times. THIS TEAM IS AMAZING! Every single person from receptionist to doctor has been wonderful. I adopted a reactive dog back in January and she was already coming to Vickery Place through her Foster/Adoption Org.I am so grateful that we kept her here because Lottie and I love (OK maybe not Lottie haha) coming back and we know for certain that we will be taken care of. Dr. Huang made me feel so assured for my cat's health and safety. They made sure that he was comforted and explained every option/process/diagnosis thoroughly and I could not have been any more pleased with the staff!! The experience reminds me of the same feeling I've had walking out of a car dealership. Multiple suggestions of this test and that x-ray ($250 and no mention of cost beforehand) along with push back when I asked for an online prescription for heartworm medication. Nearly $500 for what should have been just annual shots and a physical exam. In my opinion, you can do better. Much better.

We inherited our 11 year old Weimer, Izzy, several months ago. We had her records transferred and brought her in for a check-up. Two teeth needed to be extracted and 6 tumors removed for evaluation. We found the folks at VPAH the most attentive who offered the most comprehensive service. They are fabulous and we recommend this facility to anyone for their fur babies.

Possibly the best vet experience I've ever had. I moved to Dallas recently and avoided finding a new vet for as long as I could, and I am SO glad this is where we ended up going! Dr. Huang has been incredibly kind and clear about my dogs' needs, and all of the staff I encountered were awesome. I'm so relieved to have found a wonderful, comfortable place for my dogs!

I have been going here for a couple of years and have been able to get a convenient appointment for my cat here. I have been very pleased with the vets and vet techs I've seen. Friendly, great care, good at communicating information, and I've never felt pushed to spend money on unnecessary medicine or procedures. Happy a couple of friends recommended them to me!

I believe it is difficult to find a vet who treats cats as well as dogs. They cared for my cat many years and through her final illness with love and respect. We now have a puppy, and I drive 20 minutes to take her there because I trust them and know we have the best care with them. I have seen both Dr. Dearixon and Dr. Kores, and both are wonderful.

The staff is very friendly and professional to both the animals and humans. It’s truly very clean in the lobby and individual patient rooms. They kept my pet dog calm, and quickly gave her the medical attention needed. I can not compare their services fees to other locations, I don’t have that experience. But my fees were a bit high for my budget.

Absolutely love this clinic and have a special appreciation for Dr. Huang. She’s taken such good care of all our pets and fosters since we moved to Dallas. She’s very kind and attentive as well extremely knowledgeable and communicative when addressing our concerns or questions. Highly recommend Dr. Huang and we are very grateful for her!

I have been taking my pup to this location for about a year and they’re always extremely sweet and caring and helpful. I always call first and ask if I should bring him in based on his symptoms and they give great advice without jumping to the conclusion of bringing him in right away (and having to pay for the visit.) much appreciated!

After vacation, we picked up our dog from being boarded and she was extremely sick. Green goop oozing from her nose and eyes, and very lethargic. They immediately put her on antibiotics and kept a watchful eye on her for several days pumping IV fluids into her. She would have died if they didn't treat her right away. Highly Recommend.

We have been bringing our pets here for years. Love how the doctors and staff seem to genuinely love our pets and prioritize their comfort and well-being. They have been taking care of my cat Lola for the past 7 years. The staff have always been honest, upfront and very caring to my cat. My cat has a lot of health issues, so the staff all know my cat Lola very well. Dr. Dearixon is great to check on my cat after visits :)

It’s a vet, you don’t wanna go but you have to. It’s gonna cost an arm and a leg, but they are top notch and I’m too lazy to find a cheaper vet plus like a cheaper vet might just put ya dog down. That’ll cut costs!! Lmao just go here. They are professional and very nice

Dr. Huang was able to see my dog the same day. It was my first visit here and my dog had a cut on his foot from a walk. She came out to my car to visit with me personally to make sure my pet had the best attention. I would recommend her to anybody for your pet needs.

This is the fourth vet I’ve brought my 11 yr old beagle to visit to help with her limp. This is the only vet that actually provided a long-term solution that didn’t include prescription medication. They also are great about getting her in quickly! Highly recommend!

We've had a great experience with Dr. Huang. I'm an MD, and I've had some bad experiences with vets upselling me on lab tests (and to be fair, I can be a bit of a know-it-all). Dr. Huang is really sharp, friendly, and explains exactly what needs to be done and why.

Dr. Huang and the staff are fantastic! I have 2 dogs and they have both had surgery here. They kept me informed, didn't waste my time (nor money) with unnecessary tests and the care they received was outstanding. So thankful the EARS rescue recommended this clinic

My pups love going to see Dr Kores!!! The entire staff is professional, knowledgable, caring and friendly! I know that my "kids" are getting the very best care with Dr Kores and it is so nice to know that they are well loved and cared for while they are there.

We always receive the most attentive, comprehensive service. Especially for our mastiff who has been quite the project with his temperament and health issues. They are fabulous with XL dogs who are sweethearts at home but won't let you near them at the vet.

We drove in from Andrews just to visit them! They're really good with ferrets. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. They really take the time to talk with you and ensure you get the answers you need.

Best staff ever! Last set of shots and Madison didnt even cry. They have treats and water for the animals and a turf potty area on the side of the building. Appointments are kept on time and affordable.

We have a home filled with furry love and this Vickery Place Animal Hospital takes wonderful care of special family members. We feel very blessed to have the whole office of loving care providers.

My pup loves the techs and doctors at Vickery. They are always attentive and knowledgable about my concerns. It's easy to get in for appointments, and the staff is always so loving towards my dog.

Fantastic vet that is knowledgeable with ferrets. The entire staff really seem to care about the animals and are very patient with the pet owners as well. Highly recommend them for all fur babies

Dr. Dearixon was excellent examining my cat, explaining everything that I need to do before and after his minor operation. I feel confident that he is in the best hands he could be.

Staff is very helpful and great with the animals. They are great at getting you in fast and asap when you have an emergency. Always follow up with you to see how your pet is doing.

Dr. Kores, Dr. Dearixon and the entire staff are very thorough, knowledgeable and compassionate. I have been taking my dogs here for 7+ years and I've never had a bad experience.

There are other vets closer to where we live but we've kept coming to Vickery Place. They are very knowledgeable and friendly and the wait is so much shorter. Highly recommend!

The staff has taken wonderful care of my two orange tabby cats for years. The particular vets and techs have changed over time but the care and service are always top notch.

All the doctors are amazing. Its a bit pricier than the local shelter, but you get way more for your money. All the techs, vets, and admin are great. Highly recommended.

Dr. Huang is absolutely amazing, She will do everything in her power to ensure your baby is taken care of. I can’t even put to words how amazing team at this location!

DR. WONG IS AWESOME! The entire facility is staffed by friendly, knowledgeable staff who really care. They are handling the issues brought by the C-Virus beautifully.

All the Drs here are great, but Doctor Martin and Doctor Korres are up there with the most thorough, kindest and empathic vets we've ever had.
